First off, the food is pretty good. Is it worth the price, you be the judge. Everything is expensive these days. $12 for just a cheeseburger and $20+ with fries drink and tip is double what it was here five years ago. Seating is 95% outside. I almost died of heat exhaustion today. (misters out of service). I'll probably go back in cooler weather. read more

I have eaten at Big Earl's numerous times and always had good experiences. My last visit on Saturday, November 15 was extraordinary!!! I had one of the best burgers I've ever had. Very cute diner located off Cave Creek Rd. The old gas station made for interesting ambience. We ordered at the bar and our food & drinks were served quickly, Bartender was friendly but told us the alcoholic slushee was pina colada - ordered 2 and they were obviously margaritas with lots of sweet & sour. Wonderful milkshakes! Pure Americana style place with outdoor eating, axe throwing is a must for all kids

This restaurant has been a childhood favorite of mine because of the distance and history behind it. However, I just recently visited again and was frustrated with the prices. I absolutely love the burgers but to charge 3$ for a slice of cheese, 1$ for ranch, and 5$ for tater tots is outrageous. I really hope they can stop screwing over there customers. Will never go back until they fix things! read more

Excited to try with daughter after seeing a nice review on YouTube. Drove over half an hour to get there. Charming local place with friendly staff. Ordered the Gut Buster and daughter ordered the big Earl burger. Onion rings were great ...but that was as good as it got. Burgers were so mid and overly salted...I have a salt tooth but it was too salty for me! Very disappointed in the food and very expensive...over $50! I could have had a ton of In N Out and enjoyed it a lot more! The Stand is far superior and more affordable! read more

We stopped in for a bite with the kids and boy do they not disappoint! The burgers had perfect char and the bun was soft. The Cajun fries and ranch were out of this world. The service was top tier and they had a great selection of beers. The patio is equipped with misters and there is a play area for entertainment while you wait. Went here during the Bike Rally in October. Most places were full of people, but this one wasn't packed and I'm always up to try a patty melt somewhere new. I walked in, sat down and immediately got in a conversation with a guy sitting at the counter. The waitress was also right there and she & the other folks inside were all really friendly and full of stories. In contrast with my previous visit my lunch there today was spectacular not only in the food, but by the warm and friendly cashier. I don't know what her name was, but she was delightful and super welcoming. In fact, my cheeseburger was so darn good that I ordered a second one . The owner was kind enough to respond to my previous review in a very courteous message, and she was certainly able to remedy the issue that I had the prior time. Pleasantly surprised by this cute diner in cave creek! The service was amazing and the woman at the register was so sweet. She told our group that they do free drive in movies every weekend, and they bring your food to you which is such a fun idea! I ordered the chicken strips, fries, and sweet potato fries. It's a greasy spoon for sure! And it's MESSY!! Don't wear your white jeans or you'll be sad like me. Anyway, we stopped in this weekend as they are really the size of a gas station with all outdoor seating, so that fits the COVID bill. You order inside and they have a sign stating no more than five in the building. 'Most' people adhering to that rule, but not all (of course, right?). Same with masks 'most' but not all, wore them while in the building and weren't challenged. Glad it was windy today. The Buffalo blue cheese (grilled) was really good, just messy. Fries had a coating on them that made they crisp- very good. Hubby said his Earl burger was very good. He made a mess, but not as big as mine. They do have over 90 beers available. Nice. Super friendly place ! good grub food ! mostly known for their hamburgers. vegetable prices had the barbecue burger and Cajun fries, which were plenty for two people Friendly service a bit of a wait to order but the patio is nice. large shade and dogs are welcome right on the strip so you can see all the activities of Cave Creek. They have a nice confectionery store next-door to to check out. Apparently they do movie night on Saturday night in the back area family friendly, casual vibe. read more

Cute place with a large patio and plenty of seating. The BLT was nicely toasted BUT they use shredded lettuce and not lettuce leafs which matters. Plus, way too much lettuce. Bacon was flavorless and tasted like cheap quality. The onion rings were fresh, crispy and quite tasty. Id have those again. But I think we lost patience this past weekend when 2burgers, 2 fries, 2 sodas was $41.00. So, with tip - our burger lunch was $50. This place used to be a gas station. It was turned into a small burger shop. This place is like a local landmark in Cave Creek. So the place may not be fancy and you sit outside, but let me tell you the burgers are to die for. They are also very large. Their french fries are also very good. I recommend the bacon burger. Not sure what I was expecting for a place called greasy eats. Ordered burrito with cheese, chorizo and green chilis. $2 extra for each additional item so $6 plus $11.99. Sour cream another $2. Ridiculous. Americano coffee was terrible. Two sips and ready to dump it. My wife could not even drink it. You are better off going to Janeys or Grotto or local Johnny's. Love the off-menu vegan burger - Malibu burger with no Mayo/butter. It's a unique patty - not Impossible, Beyond - much better/healthier. The fries are always good and a solid bar selection. Classic American dinner/fast food. The location is great and they have good seating in-front or out back. The food was good, not great, just good. The line we stood in took 40 mins and about 15 minutes to bring out the food. Not worth the wait at all! If you are in Cave Creek and want a good burger, you should stop here. If there is a line, you should get back in your car and keep on trucking, cuz your not missing anything major here that's worth the wait. It's like they are moving in slow motion. I've passed this spot a few times while driving through Cave Creek and decided to stop in. There was a long wait to order that seemed to be caused by limited staffing. For example, the gal who took orders also made the delicious milkshakes. When I see the name "Big Earl's Greasy Eats" it conjures an image in my mind of thick juicy burgers. Something from days gone by. What I got was an average burger that was a little on the dry side. I found a couple of bits of apple skins on the burger (they do serve apple slices to kiddos!). The onion rings were also just ok. The milk shakes are made using vanilla soft serve. I tried the cookies & cream. It was the best part of the meal. The meal came in a little under $20. The prices have gone a bit from what is listed on the menus posted here. Next time I'll stop over at the Whataburger before I head to Cave Creek and save a few bucks. I had high hopes for this place when we stopped in for lunch on a sunny Saturday. The menu with a wide range of burgers and sandwiches sounded great and I found the funky dive drive in theme appealing. You order at the counter inside, pay, get a number, then they bring your food out when it's ready. We both ordered the cowboy burger (cheeseburger with onionn rings, bacon and BBQ sauce) and split a chocolate shake. While they mention that they cook to medium well, I didn't think anything of it until receiving the bland tasteless food a while later-very ordinary. We loved the set up of this place! It used to be a gas station and is made over into the restaurant. The area where you order is pretty cramped, and they seem to take priority over drink orders rather than food. So the ordering process takes quite a while. The people ordering drinks essentially skip the line and walk up on the side to order, but use the same card reader so it delays the whole process. We opted to sit outside where they have super nice misters to keep the area cool. I am going to echo other people's reviews and say that the tables and chairs were FILTHY. I'm not sure the chairs have ever been wiped down, and the tables clearly are not wiped down between guests. Ours had crumbs, pieces of lettuce and mushrooms on it. The worst part to me was the bathrooms. They are some of the dirtiest that I've ever seen, and there was a baby changing table in the women's restroom that I wouldn't dare put a child on. I think there needs to be more regular cleaning of everything at this restaurant throughout the day. The food was delicious, but expensive. We got two burgers, two fries and a beer and it came to $45 after tip. When you order the normal burger, it's $8 and then they charge you $1 per add on item, so it gets expensive really quick. To me, $1 for a slice of American cheese is insane. But I opted to add cheese and a green Chile to mine and it was delicious! My husband got the Gut buster burger. He wasn't a fan of the BBQ meat that came on top of it, so he said he would opt for a normal burger next time. We also got the Cajun fries and taco fries. Both fries tasted exactly the same to us, but were good! This place looks like a sit down restaurant, but is essentially fast food in that you do not get service once you sit down. The girls delivered our burgers and we never saw them again. They do not have ketchup on the table and we would have liked more ketchup, but we didn't want to venture back into the long line to get more. Overall, this place has a lottttt of strikes for us. However, the food was pretty good. We would probably come back if we're craving a greasy burger, but definitely won't be regulars unless the prices dropped and the place was kept cleaner. There's something about a dirty restaurant that makes me question how clean their kitchen is. read more
