The Hunter sammie had fresh turkey, cheese, lettuce, tomato, avocado, bacon (which I removed) with dirty sauce in the side. The Steve sammie had halal chicken, provolone cheese, lettuce, tomato & marinara sauce. Both are served warm. Staff were super patient and nice. The order took a bit longer but no matter. This was our first time at Ikes. There are a multitude of choices and it took us some time to decide. We ended up choosing the Backstabber and their version of an Italian. Both were excellent choices. We especially liked the Backstabber. It was filled with chicken and all the extras. The Italian wasn't quite as good but still was OK. I have been trying to find a time to hit up Ike's as I read a really good review and I am always looking for creative and different veggie sammy options! Today I decided since I haven't had time to make it to the shop I would order to my office. First I looked on door dash and my three items were going to be $42!! Luckily I looked on Uber Eats and it was way more affordable including the delivery fee ($3.99 on DD and $1.99 on UE). It was sooo hard to decide on which sammy but I ended up ordering the "Fall'ing for Ike's" because it is almost fall folks!! This is a sub with vegan turkey, cheddar, siracha and cranberry sauce. I ordered it on "Dutch Crunch" bread but there are other choices like in a bowl, or with gluten free bread (also sourdough, French and wheat were options), and I added lettuce, tomato, pickles, banana peppers and jalapeños! I loaded it up!! The bread was slightly soggy when I got it but it was so good (and messy) but I didn't care. They don't skimp on the vegan turkey either, which I was super happy about! I love this sandwich shop. The staff are so friendly and the sandwiches are so good. I got the wonder woman sandwich and it was amazing. Great meat, lovely honey mustard, delicious bread. Employees were friendly and helpful and, of course, the sandwiches are great no matter which site you go to. Although I have my favorites, I often try new ones because they have so many. Had the Elvis Kieth [sic] combo this time. It listed Teriyaki as an ingredient, but there was none. Only thing that turned me off if they had some pepperoni and some other meat in large containers that were uncovered and in an area that was kind of open - don't know if they were using that meat - but that was the only thing about the place that kind of turned me off. I stumbled upon this chain while in SFO. Huge menu! Great food! I eat lunch here a few times every month. The establishment is a small take out with seating for about 20. It can be crowded at lunch and parking can be rough because it is next to 2 large medical offices. I like to try different sandwiches, but my favorite is the Paul Rueben. You have to get the Dutch crunch bread. It is so awesome. If I were eating food only, I would give 5 stars. However, I am a rewards member and often order online. First the rewards. Not a fan of the perks. You only get 1 point per dollar. The average sandwich is about 13.00. Once you reach 150 points, you get 10.00. That isn't even a free sandwich for spending over $100. The program could use some reworking. As for online ordering...I have to time it so I don't get a cold sandwich. All sandwiches come toasted and hot. Just the way I love them. But they give a 30 minute window around lunch time. If they aren't busy, your sandwich is made right away to sit and wait for you to pick it up at the promised time. Not the ideal situation for me. It would be nice to know what time they prepared the sandwich. The only times given are the time of the order and when it is promised for. I've had it both ways with online ordering. I've had to wait for them to make it and I've picked up cold sandwiches that I know sat there for 20 minutes. Overall, I love the food and I make concessions to get it the way I want it. It would be nice to see some changes with the rewards program and some tweaking to online orders being as fresh as possible. This location has been the kiss of death for many a sandwich shops. I think Ike's is about to turn that around. The decor is updated with some nice graphics. The menu is some crazy mixture of ingredients and sandwiches named after famous people. I had the King Koopa (okay not a famous "person" but close) which is meatballs with mozzarella sticks. TBH I've never considered putting mozzarella sticks on a sandwich but it was good enough that I would order it again. Bread was fresh. The place was busy and the service was friendly.
