Limited parking & seating; maybe 10-12 cars can park in the lot, you can park on the street too. Seating has about 17 tables, some smaller than others. The screened in porch is where I sat, I like the air flow. Service is good, may dint expect the "chain" how are you type service, which is GREAT by my standards. Feels like a locals/ Home vibe place, speak up, help yourself if you need something & leave your attitude at the door (tourist) Food is simple breakfast food, hot & busy place. My wife and I were in town from Ohio seeing our grandkids and decided to check this place out. I often passed this place for years as I golf at Rancho Manana. I was hungry for breakfast and ordered two eggs over easy, home fry's, sausage, and rye toast. Black coffee. My wife ordered the hash and scrambled eggs. Coffee and cream. This is where you'll find the old Cave Creek locals who have been coming for years. This is where you'll find reasonable prices for good food. Biscuits and sausage gravy is my favorite breakfast, and these were fine, but the standout is the chicken fried steak! It's lightly breaded, so you get full flavor instead of just breading. Oh Wagon Wheel, you old school, don't give a hoot what people think, Cave Creek diamond in the extremely rough. I do like you! The food is really good. I found the service excellent, and the pricing is good. But Wagon Wheel why are there giant holes in the screens, in the outdoor section? Why is the counter seating area so black from peoples shoes? Walked into the restaurant for the first time and we got a funny look and we're not sure if we were supposed to seat ourselves or wait to be seated. The waitress then told us to sit where ever we wanted. We choice to sit outside because the inside was dark, dingy, and dirty looking We wiped down our seats because they were gross. There were holes in the screen but I could live with that. Our waitress came out quickly and she was very nice and fun. I ordered the biscuits and gravy and I'm not gonna lie they were DELICIOUS!! Our food came out pretty quick which was nice. Everybody was working hard. However, not for the OCD person. The water tasted funny so bring your own water. I couldn't drink the coffee because I could taste the weird tasting water in it. I'm not picky about my coffee either. The condiment bottles looked as if they had never been cleaned.. It's a cute local restaurant that is cash only and if you forget cash there is an ATM in the restaurant. Very basic menu. Was an ok crowd at 8am and started to get full by 9am. Waitstaff seemed to know all the locals by name and created everyone that came in and also knew what a few peoples orders were without asking if they wanted anything. Out waitstaff was great, they helped each other out when it got a little busy. Water and coffee stayed full. Food service was personable and quick. Also has patio seating. We were greeted by our southern server, Alabama, and she is just absolutely delightful! Funny and kept us laughing the whole time! My mother is a breakfast lover and she's always looking for an out of the way gem, and somehow this place came onto her radar in early 2022. She invited us all for a Sunday breakfast, my three siblings and our families, something we do very often. We are a very large group so the person at the counter sat us in a backroom/addition area of the restaurant. The food I cannot speak on, I didn't try it, I couldn't bring myself to order. My oldest did not order food either. The rest of the family did though with mixed reviews. My menu was covered in previous diners selections, yuk. The appearance of the server had me wigging out, a small boy in unwashed bare flip-flopped feet, around 9 or so. The grosses part of the experience for me was hanging on the wall next to our table, a visibly rotting mountain lion carcass that was poorly taxidermied 75 years ago! The baseboards were encrusted in a mystery crumb mixture and the walls have a mystery scum like coating. We decided to visit the Cave Creek area and stumble upon this gem through Yelp of course! It's a hole-in-the-wall place (our favorite kind) and it has a heck of a sharp turn from the main road to get in and into the parking lot (imagine yourself making a u-turn but with only 100 feet to do it). It looks like an older house that has been converted into a restaurant. I'd love to find out the history of this location. The feel is actually pretty southern when you walk in. There is a fun patio, with only a hand full of tables, and with nice weather like this they will fill up fast! We decided to sit inside to get a real feel for the restaurant. Meghan was the best - if you go here - ask for her! She greeted us warmly. Patiently waited to take our order as we perused the menu options and checked in on us enough to be wonderful and not overwhelming. I had the French Toast (2 slices) for just $3.50! He had the He Person breakfast, which was two enormous pancakes, 2 slices of bacon, 2 sausage patties and toast. They were both delicious. The french toast was made with Texas Toast and was sweet enough to satisfy a craving, but not overly so that it was too much after a few bites. He had so much food he didn't make it but about half way through his pancakes and threw in the white towel. Yes, it's an old building. Yes, it's a hole-in-the-wall that looks like it could use a new coat of paint, a better parking lot and a pressure washer. BUT that would take all the unique aspects of this place away, and where is the fun in that?? If you want a chain restaurant, this isn't it and that's exactly why we loved it! Overall: A+ Good food.
