I can understand a poor review by a frustrated owner trying to retrieve a towed vehicle that was improperly/illegally parked... But if you need your vehicle towed, Big Guys gets the job done. No complaints from me, and I can recommend their services based my experience with them. read more

I sold my car 2013, I sent my release liabilities through the mail, but apparently DMV did not process it, due to other prior parking tickets that were not paid. Today I ran my credit, I was surprised there a collection from big guys towing for $3500. I tried to call the company, they didn't want to help me, he said call the collection agency. So I called the collection agency they don't want to hear my story they just told me to pay $3500, she said I am guilty because I did not transfer my release of liabilities completely. I was very frustrated, so I called the Big guys towing several times wanting to talk to the owner. the man that work at big guys towing claim his name to be Kyle, several times he had lied about the information that I asked, such as his owner name or supervisor. He also talked to me very rude, he asked if i was an illegal alien, because of my name, I trusted him. I gave him my full name in order for me to leave a message to the owner. Finally I got the owners name Keith Smith to another source. So I call again wanting to talk to Keith Smith, but the man said he is not in. So I left a message asking him to call me, up now no one has called me. At that point I was lost I didn't know what to do, so I decided to google a legal counsel, this what the Attorney say: (I hope this will help someone that similar issue like me) This what the attorney says :Attorney 1 : Hello, and welcome! I am a licensed attorney and will be happy to assist. Attorney 1 : You are not legally liable for the towing charges as long as you properly transferred the pink slip, even though the release of liability was not properly recorded. As long as you have a properly executed bill of sale, you should be fine. In the event you are sued by the collection agency or towing company, your proof of transfer is a complete defense. That said, there is the issue of the credit report. If you provide proof of transfer to the towing company, they are obligated to remove the negative item from your credit report and seek compensation only from the person who was actually legally liable. If the negative information is not removed within a reasonable period of time, you have a right to sue the tow company/collection agency for credit damage. That's because, at that point, the c companies know you are not the proper party and they have a legal obligation to correct the information. Attorney 1 : The purpose of the release of liability is to notify the DMV that you are not responsible for any potential future traffic violations. While the towing company may have made an honest mistake in pointing to you for payment, it is a mistake that can and should be corrected. Attorney 1 : I hope this information helps. If I could give no stars I would. Hands down one of the worst towing companies in the Bay Area. After they towed my car, the interior of my car was scratched up and damaged. I contacted them and they said they wouldn't even fix it. Not only that, they have vile customer service. They were completely rude towards me and even laughed in my face because they thought it was funny that they weren't going to going to fix the damages THEY created. I even asked for their insurance and names but didn't tell me. When I was leaving, I heard them laughing again and talking behind my back in a negative manner. I am shocked that they even have enough customers to stay open. I have many contacts within the Bay Area and talked with some of their clients who use their services and they said their will be consequences. If your car get towed by this company and you're having a good day, let them keep your car cause its not worth being insulted and having your day ruined. read more

Recently went on a drive about 3 hours out from my house where my car overheated on a highway. I had no idea where I was, and therefore gave the worst directions as to my location, but these guys still dealt with me and came out looking. However, being so far from home, he couldn't tow me all the way. So I asked him to help me find a mechanic nearby, which all happened to be closed. He was kind enough to diagnose the problem for me, which thankfully turned out to be a quick fix! He aided me in getting my car running again and I made it back home that night without any problems. Never expected to stumble on the luck that I did- such a great turn of events. read more

Check you service invoice because mine was falsified BIG TIME. I have a custom 2011 Mercedes E350 coupe. Saturday I parked in a wrong spot. My car was towed by Big Boy Towing. Not only I was told two different prices to get my car back! They also falsified the condition of my car. They marked that my car was in "POOR" condition with dents and scuff. They marked my car has dents on the whole side on the passenger side along with damage to the back truck, back bumper and front bumper! Just to let you guys know! My car is a custom MBZ that was just done two week ago. So why is this company is falsifying records????? Is it because if they damaged your car or motorcycle that they will not be liable? I was going to add picture to this review to show how my car looks but decided not to due to I feel that my car would be targeted because this company is way in my area. They also charged me a "gate fee"? so you telling me that they can charge you a $125.00 just to open up there gate to store your car....LOL thanks god I have money..LOL WHAT A RIP OFF..... read more

I had my car out in front of my apartment complex for barely 20 minutes to go up and change before going out to the store from work and I have someone come up and tell me my car was being currently towed. I go down to see and I see that this company was towing my car. Of course I was at fault for having the car in a wrong area and so I called to see what I needed to do. They were the rudest people I have talked to. They had no patience, did not want to give me any information, were charging me $400 for taking the car for less than a block down from my apartment complex, and I called a second time to check their hours of operations and the man on the phone was speaking to me like I was an idiot who knew nothing. They do not sympathize with you or have any customer service. I mean part of your job is to ruin a persons day so you might as well have a smile on your face or a good sound to your voice to make me feel better when I give you your undeserved money. read more

You're probably wondering, why and no, that's not a typo. It's a 5 star.I felt overwhelmingly compelled to share with you, my opinions based upon the incredible zeal and moral turpitude that exuded throughout every corner of this fine establishment. Now i know alot of you must think I'm "trippin" or say things like "kevin you must eat lead paint chips for breakfast. These guys are charlatans and hucksters" but I beg to differ and here are my reasons why; My second truck in two months was so eagerly garrisoned suddenly by the folks down at big guys towing. The trail of grease and cigarette butts led right to their location but before I get to that I did my due diligence and looked em up on yelp. So I picked up the phone, dialed the number and only then finally made progress by telling the 3rd party operator to get the mashed potatoes out his mouth and articulate. He then sheepishly uttered in a mono sylabic tone an ambiguous ball park price and transferred me to dial tone. Next day I arrive at the cal osha nightmare they call a tow yard where I was greeted by grown man, slightly resembling the character "millhouse" from the Simpsons tv show. Mildly frustrated after not understanding my simple questions and hand gestures I Suspected maybe he'd just been a victim of sexual assault or perhaps his boyfriend just dumped him, going by the vacant expression on his face. I was then quickly ushered into an office the size of an outhouse which surprisingly fit 3 more portly gentleman, sweaty and texting away on they're free government phones, sporting mustard stained coveralls and swapping stories of good ol' glory days. On a side note, need not to worry folks, despite their" tuff guy" persona' these cupcakes wouldn't last a day in the hood or behind bars. So please don't be intimidated. After reluctantly learning that yet another one of my trucks was now their property i was temped to knock their teeth out although much to my chagrin, neither one of these poor bastards had any left to do so. I then proceeded to get my belongings, when one of the men,oddly enough whom initially fronted like he was "thugged out" yelled "call the cops" and shut gates on me. Fearing I may do something I regret I swiftly hopped the fence and got the f--ck outta dodge. With that said. You might still wonder why I gave them 5 stars..... They exceeded my expectations for a two bit tow yard on skid row in the middle of the boondocks... What, and you were really expecting something less? read more
