He showed us the land and knew the legends, I loved it. It was like taking a road trip with your favorite uncle that perceived your preferences by talking with you. We had a blast on the private Hummer H2 tour from Vegas to the Hoover Dam. Our guide Randy is the man!! Randy was our driver/guide and he was very polite, nice and fun to hang with! Full of cool facts, information and let us tour at our own pace...yet keeping us on schedule as needed to make all the sights and experiences as promised! I spent hours looking at different tours online and wasn't sure what to book. The concierge at our resort recommended these guys and it was excellent. Picked us up at Caesar's at 6am and back by 3:30pm. Scott was our guide and we had a fantastic day. Very friendly and informative all along the way. Everywhere we went they knew Scott and he knew the best places to stop and the best timing for everything. We didn't wait in one line all day. Did Lake Mead, Hoover Dam, West Rim of the Grand Canyon, Skywalk, and the Joshua Tree Forest. Can't recommend Scott enough. Was so glad we took this tour. Went on a Hummer tour of Hoover Dam with Brett as our guide. For some reason no matter where we were to meet up with Brett & the 4 others on the tour my husband and I were always in the wrong place waiting. Poor Brett had to run around in that heat looking for us, always with a sense of humor. He was informative, fun & we had a great time. Also gave us bottles of water to carry on tour. Good thinking Brett, it was hot! Highly recommend! Oh yes as an added bonus I found a pic at the dam of my grandfather. It's huge! Very emotional experience as well. read more

The tour itself was setup by our hotel and I was expecting a large bus with lots of people. What we got was a tour of the Hoover Dam with just in the car with Scott. Scott arrived on time and we returned on time too. For first stop was the Welcome to Las Vegas sign which was a great addition. This stop allowed us to take a quick photo that we were hoping to do! On our way out to the dam and throughout the day itself Scott shared the history of Las Vegas, Boulder City and of the Dam itself. He didn't mind all our dam questions or all the dam photos that we took. Overall, I would recommend this company. read more

Hoover Dam tour Great tour company. I was in an off strip hotel and other tour companies throughout my week here refused to come pick me up. This company offered to come get me for $20 extra - much less than a cab fare. I turned them down however as I had a rental. I drove to a strip hotel to get picked up. The driver was early. The Hummer H2 was clean and nice and provided a smooth ride. The Hummer seats a driver plus 7 - 2 in the back, 3 in the middle and 1 up front with the driver. We stopped to pick up 4 others then drove 45 minutes out to the Hoover Dam. All the way he provided commentary on history and what we were seeing. At the dam he drove us around so we could get pictures then he gave us our tickets for the power plant tour. We had the tour and time to take pics - about 2 hrs in all before we met up again for the ride back. He does not do the guiding at the dam, a dam employee does that. He was very knowledgeable however about the dam and could answer any questions. I really recommend this tour company. Even though since I had a rental I could have driven out here myself the guide did definitely add value to the experience. It was also nice to have the logistics all taken care of. read more

The Hoover Dam tour itself is... well it's not Vegas lights at night by private helicopter while Jennifer Lawrence rubs your back and serves you expensive champagne in her shoe... It's run by government employees, some of whom are lazy slobs but I digress. Enough of them are jazzed about their jobs even after all these years. The scale of the project remains impressive, though the presentation, for instance the video, remains pedestrian. What made this tour superb was the personability and knowledge of our guide/driver, Randy. The guy is a fountain of knowledge about the many aspects of the dam, the local flora & fauna (we saw bighorn sheep), & the history of Las Vegas and surrounding areas. His knowledge isn't superficial as you might expect from a tourguide. He's educated and seems to have local roots. I found myself repeating, "I never knew that." more than I had in many years. The hummer was in good repair. It's a good looking ride with cold AC & Randy made sure we stayed hydrated and comfortable. read more

Big Horn offers a 3-for-1 tour of the Hoover Dam, Grand Canyon, and the res' that's bound to leave you pondering your existence in life, your over-inflated mortgage, your lack of quality air.... or maybe that was just me & my sis. We were seriously planning and scheming how to make the move cross-country in the next decade because we were in such awe of the quiet...... still..... clean, clear, peaceful world around us for those few hours. We weren't bombarded with the "pick me/buy me" electronic display from sales reps, and we weren't riding with the typical tour guide, either. Big Horn offers a pleasant, PERSONAL small tour with as much history and fun that you can cram in an 8 hour day. Our guide, David, has to be the best. His wit, gentlemanly manner, and true interest in his clients is what prompted me to write this review. There was not a dull moment... not even for a jet-lagged, running off fumes, 30+ year old such as my self. I don't want to give too much away, but for $200, this tour was definitely worth it! The coach was fully stocked with snacks and drinks (for those of us who are unfamiliar with a desert climate, you will have a newfound appreciation for water almost every waking hour), and the photo ops were endless. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this tour , and especially with David as the tour guide, to anyone. Please skip any other 'offers' that your hotel concierge may try to suggest...you can't pay for a better time. read more

I pictured a great tour with an informative guide. What I got was a tour guide, Thomas, most interested in sharing his political views, opinions and resume. I asked him a couple of times to change the subject as this was a pleasure tour that we were paying for. I wanted to learn about the dam, the construction and maybe a bit of history of Nevada and areas of Nevada we were driving through. What I got was the self absorbed ranting of a guide who would be better served standing on a soap box. This made the ride excruciating. I was so happy when we actually took a tour by actual guides that gave us an informative tour. Although a Thomas kept informing us that we were VIP's, we felt differently. If you are looking for an informative tour guide, you don't want this guy. The only reason I gave 2 stars is because we got to and back from our destination in one piece. read more

I have lived in Las Vegas for over 3 years and never took the time to go to the Grand Canyon or had the interest. I wanted to do a road trip for a day and I finally decided that I should go see it and check it off the bucket list with family. I was googling tour companies on the web and stumbled upon this one! Then to the Grand Canyon West Rim. Our guide Brett stayed with us through the whole tour. We got back to our hotel approximately 3:30 p.m. He was great. We had so much fun. First of all!!!! EVERYBODY MUST!!!! REQUEST THOMAS AS THEIR GUIDE!! This man is a fucking legend!!! From the absolute beginning of the trip he was on point! And came prepared! I am not a morning person what so ever but he was full of jokes and really good ones at that! he supplied us with cold water bottles, took us everywhere and was EXTREMELY informative and not boring! It takes a lot to keep my attention span for awhile and he had me laughing and focused the entire way!!!! He also should be a professional photographer because all I wanted from this trip was good photos for social media and he did not disappoint !!!! FROM POSING ME, DIRECTING THE PHOTO AND USING HIS CAR AS A PROP LMAO he was all with it!! He does not rush you at all and in fact encourages you to take the best pictures as possible!! At one point I even stepped on his hand to get on top of the car !!! Beyond a perfect gentlemen and amazing guy the highlight of the trip was his company! Tour guides can either make or break the trip and oh boy did we get lucky!!! We got there so quick and he made sure to stop us at every rest stop, and jewelry shop along the way! You won't be disappointed !!!!! Months before our trip we spoke to Bill, the owner, on the phone to help us plan an adventure for 3 of our grandchildren. Our guide Brett was First Class !!! Both men provided outstanding personal service to our family. Brett picked us up promptly, ordered each individual breakfast on the way, and made sure every need was met for our family of 3 adults and 3 children, ages 4, 7, and 11 the entire day. Brett's personal experience, interest and knowledge of the area, made for interesting and accurate information about the Las Vegas history, the Hoover Dam, and the Grand Canyon. We asked a lot of questions, and he seemed to enjoy answering and making the tour extra special. I was interested in the Joshua Trees, so he drove off road through the forest, as well as stopping on the way back for a neat photo opportunity with the kids. We went to Hoover dam, the Grand Canyon West Rim and Skywalk, and to the Dude Ranch where our grandchildren enjoyed a real cowboy town, a wonderful lunch, a wagon and horse back ride. It was a good day for all, and a trip our little guys will long remember. Everyone is not patient with children, but Brett was totally good with them. This Tour by Big Horn was one of the best things we ever came across. If you want to see a lot in a comfortable and personalized way. This tour takes you from your hotel to the canyon and back again in a clean and smooth riding H2. The tour lasts a good 7-8 hrs depending on the requests of the tour group.(if you want to stop and look, they let you stop and look. or if you ask to go offroad a little, they will). All while keeping you on schedule to see the sights on the tour. The Tour group is small (up to 6 people) and our guide Randy was professional, and pleasant, and explained the area and sights through the whole trip. Everything is taken care of for you by the guides so you dont have any guess work or money out of pocket once tour starts. We highly recommend this tour for people that normally HATE going on tours. We also recommend taking the Canyon helicopter tour. They arrange it all and its great to go to the bottom of the canyon. Plus with Randy, he knows the people in the area and you can tell that all the workers have an outstanding relationship with him. Well worth all the $ spent. And if I could ever get our friends and family to go with us back to Vegas, this will be one of the first things I would arrange. read more
