Had to put this thing in the microwave just to eat part of it.

if I could zero stars I would. went in bought an apple fritter and a pack of the McKenzie cinnamon rolls that I use to love as a kid got home which was 50 minutes away and the whole pack of cinnamon rolls were stale as heck. I paid $14 just to be disappointed. this place is a joke not like it used to be to be. waste of money.

    Soooo amazing yall

Such a delight to come to this location for my Tastee fix. I love the fact that out of all the Tastee locations, this 1 is fully serviced where everyone is ready & willing to serve with such a quick and upbeat personality. The aroma that hits you in the face as soon as you enter is beyond memorizing so much it makes you want to taste every single thing that has been baked. I highly suggest the buttermilk drops

This Tastee doesn't have the huge selection like the one on Loyola Dr in Kenner but they are, nonetheless, fresh and tasty. They have an assortment of donuts from glazed to cake donuts. Then there are numerous varieties of each one from a regular glazed to a chocolate ice glazed with sprinkles or a regular cake donut to glazed chocolate cake donuts. I usually get a small 1/2 dozen box for $4.99. Kastleburgers and a few other items are also available here (chicken and fish baskets). You can't go wrong with a few Kastleburgers late at night when on an empty stomach.

    Yumm-ay!

Tastee has been in my life for decades! I don't remember a time before chocolate sprinkle donuts and I distinctly remember my first Kastleburger with cheese! It was a rush of addictive wonderfulness that I have revisited, with fervor, time and time again! This location takes me waaaayyyy back with the sugar dressed donuts of my dreams, McKenzie's favorites, and the staple slider Kastleburger. Good coffee, tasty tasty treats and sweet smiling staff make this my favorite Tastee of all time!

Apple fritters are the bomb. These are some of the best I have had. Large, crispy on the outside and soft and tasty inside.

Ask the Community - Tastee Donuts

Do you have old McKenzies buttermilk drops?

They do not have "old" McKenzies buttermilk drops. That would be stale & gross! They DO have the original recipe for McKenzies buttermilk drops & make fresh donuts daily. Yummy!

This fun joint also provides a good choice of daily specials. You walk in and get in line then start looking at the menu and checking out the daily specials to decide what you will eat. The ambiance is very interesting with food items all over the place like a little tightly packed grocery store. This spot is VERY popular which leads to the biggest problem here which is parking. The parking here is very limited and it is a bit of a challange to get in and out of the parking lot. Many people say this is their favorite spot to eat and it seems a lot of folks come here nearly daily to get their World Deli fix taken care of. Overall you have a lot of great options and they have enough variety that most folks should find something that will make them happy.

My MIL brought me here for the first time in '93 and she and her friends still come for lunch a few times a month as do most people who've lived here their whole life. Parking is tight but don't let that keep you away from the World. Yesterday, I went in for meatballs and red sauce but quickly took a detour when I saw the daily special, Crawfish Monica. If you're visiting for the first time, crawfish or shrimp Monica is a local favorite that's getting harder to find on restaurant menus partly because every family has their own version of this special party dish. The Monica special was outstanding. I got a plate full of spicy crawfish cream sauce mixed with rotini pasta, a side of spiced corn and garlic bread, enough for lunch and a midnight snack. I also couldn't pass up the shrimp remoulade salad for my lunch the next day. The shrimp were seasoned, the romaine greens were fresh, and the remoulade dressing was a knockout. If you're not feeling like a hot plate special, World Deli has a big list of sandwiches and poboys that are super popular, as well. But whatever you decide, don't skip out on dessert. This is one of the few local sandwich spots with a homemade dessert menu as big as the sandwich one and these desserts cater to the local palate. Yesterday they had plain cheesecake, cheesecake with cherry sauce, Tuscan cream cake, rum cake, pineapple upside down cake, wedding cake, pralines, and tiramisu. Don't ever pass up the rum cake in Louisiana. If you're in town for the weekend and have access to a fridge, buy some spinach artichoke dip and crab stuffed mushrooms from the ready-prep fridge for a late night snack. This place is the real deal. Stop in and see where y'at.

The Roma is probably my favorite because it is more savory. The positano was a little sweeter than I expected with the fig jam. I love the fig jam. I took it to go since there was no seating. Overall, I'd definitely come back. I think half a sandwich per person would suffice instead of a whole next time. The prosciutto was heavenly, the sweetness of the fig spread coupled with the spicy Calabrian chilis is out of this world. Sooo good! Mike had the Pisa. Despite the chicken being a perfectly thin cotoletta (yes, I have been taking Italian lessons for the past year ) it was still moist and crispy. The sauce was wonderful and the mozzarella was melted to form the most delightful sandwich. We had planned to get back over there before we left town but failed to. Alas, another reason to come back to NOLA This place is not an eat in establishment but has 3 tables outside for you to enjoy your sandwiches. The young lady who took our order was friendly and pleasant and one of the owners (the mom) chatted with us. Our experience was wonderful. It reminded us of our visits to sandwich shops in Firenze. Guys, it was THE BEST CHICKEN SANDWICH I'D EVER HAD. It was lava hot, juicy, and greasy. It was also absolutely delicious. I was concerned that the thigh meat was going to taste different. But I could not tell. The fries were crinkle cut, but were seasoned well. Didn't even need ketchup for them. The place is very clean and they had 80s music playing in the background, my favorite decade of music. Not surprising, being an 80s kid. The damage all told, including a tip, was $25. Is it expensive? Yes. Is the quality and quantity of the food commensurate to the price? Also yes. Is it worth the hype? ABSOLUTELY YES. I was also informed there's a Hammond location. I will definitely bring my family there, as it's closer, to try them out as well.

We were curious about and not many restaurants offer fresh made pork cracklings. Usually you have to buy it at a local market or know someone. The staff is very friendly and helpful.
