I called Big John's Plumbing on a Friday evening regarding a clogged toilet and shower. He came out the next morning and fixed the issue within an hour. The day before I had another company come out. They were at the house for 6 hours and couldn't find the problem. They charged $400.00 for basically nothing. April comes around, and I notice a leak where the pipe was replaced. I called Big John's, and Rudy came out the same day. Still the same Rudy-friendly, punctual, and informative. Unfortunately, it had been a few months since the initial repair, so I owed for the service. That said, Rudy quickly fixed the issue within a half-hour and thought it strange that the initial work was leaking, as I did. I had to call back a week later because the same spot continued leaking. Rudy's truck was being worked on, so he could not come out as promptly as before. However, Linda had him on the books in no time. Although Rudy was scheduled to come another day, he stopped by asap, knowing he had access to the repair since it was outside the house. I happened to be home, and Rudy looked over the issue, said there would be no charge because of the warranty, and got to work. Rudy said the water would need to be off for several hours. Then he suggested he could put a shut-off valve so I could control one line rather than have to shut off the water to the whole house. Again, he was done in a half-hour new copper pipe, a shut-off valve, and no leak. Before he left, we talked about the issue, and as he looked over the pulled part, it snapped, showing us that the original PVC pipe (connection) had cracked. The good news was Rudy planned to bypass this already without knowing/seeing this until after the fact, which was made even more difficult because the PVC was painted over. I said this before, but Big John's is quick to respond, friendly, and has good people like Rudy working for them. This is a whole other level of professionalism. Thanks to Rudy, who always leaves with a smile. The job is well done, and I get a piece of advice each time! And then today, Rudy stopped by randomly to follow up on the work because he was in the area! C'mon, are you serious?! That's the personal touch so many people lack these days! read more

I discovered water under the flooring in my master bathroom. I called Big John's Plumbing and Rudy came to my house to do a leak detection test to see where the leak was coming from. He was courteous upon arrival and he told me exactly what he would be doing. He kept me informed when he found the source of the leak (I actually had a leak in the hallway bathroom too). This was dangerously high. Now, it's at 60 pounds, which is in the safe range. Based on another quote we received, we got a very good price, too. I Texted photos of situation to Big John himself, and got an eye popping quote. I Was desperate, and so I swallowed hard and said "OK." We are long time customers of Big John's plumbing and we are completely disappointed in their lack of business ethics. We've had them out to our property to complete plumbing repairs many times over the last 9+ years. Unfortunately, the last two times we've worked with them have been horrible experiences. 1st issue: We had a water heater leak and Big John's installed a new water heater. We were satisfied with their work until it was time to replace our AC system. Our AC tech said that Big John's had installed a water heater that was oversized. Because it was too large for the space the plumbers had to twist it around and in the process blocked the venting for our AC system. In order to replace our AC, we will need to remove the current oversized water heater and purchase the correct size, install it and then install a new AC system. This is going to be a very large expense. Because a few years passed since the error, we did not pursue it with Big John's. We figured it was a mistake and we haven't replaced the AC system yet (1 of 2 systems for the house). After our 2nd issue with Big John's, we have told them about this first issue. They have not responded and didn't even bother to apologize. 2nd issue: We had a leak in our bathroom. Big John's charged us $125 for an estimate to fix the leak (which their tech Rudy said would be offset when we did the repairs). They gave us an estimate to replace shut off valves and remove tree roots and stated that the leak was at the base of the toilet. The total came to almost $1200 and they refused to offset the $125 "estimate fee." It is a rental property so we didn't to inconvenience our tenants any longer so we agreed to the repairs. After the plumbing work was completed, we hired a handyman to repair the walls in the bathroom. We did not have him re-install the toilet because we wanted to have all the work completed by the same plumber. We called Big John's to schedule the re-install of the toilet. When Big John's tech came out and installed the toilet, there was water leaking out of the toilet tank. When Big John's gave me the estimate for a $1064 repair to fix our plumbing leak, they didn't even bother to check the tank of the toilet for cracks. When I told him I wasn't going to pay for the installation since I spent almost $1200 with the company to repair items that didn't even cause the leak, he told me he would call the office and call me back. He never called me back and left my property with the cracked toilet still installed. When I called him on his cell phone to find out what was going on, he stated that he had left because the owners were out of town and they would call me back. No return phone call. That weekend we disputed the charge with our credit card company. This dispute is still in process. We also wrote a very detailed email to Big John's outlining our issues with the "repairs." No response. We will be pursuing this issue with the Better Business Bureau (BBB) and warning others on yelp, google, etc. They are happy to take your money but when things don't go right, they will not stand by their work and won't even bother to return your phone calls/emails. We ended up purchasing a new toilet and hiring another new plumber to install it. They are great! They are also on yelp - Bogart Plumbing. I highly recommend them! I had a leak in the yard but didn't know where, so Jerry came and we were considering what to do. He wanted to do what he thought was most obvious, which would've been very expensive, but he kept looking around and found an irrigation faucet (or something) that wasn't in use and we went ahead and fixed that (more than $2,000 cheaper!) and that fixed the leak: the meter quit spinning finally! I had a leak under my kitchen sink. The entire bottom was soaked. When the plumber from Big John's came out, he said he could not find the source and that maybe I spilled something. They charged me $125 and left. 2 days later, I found the source. I messaged them to come back and fix it and I was ignored, so I had to call another plumber...and by this time, the wood was rotted that I had to pay to get that fixed as well. I messaged Big John's again to let them know I had to hire someone else and that I deserve my money back. Not sure if it was the power outage or the fourteen years it's been doing a great job of heating our water. Our son is a contractor and recommended we call Big John's Plumbing in Riverside. It was Saturday so we called and left a message. Someone at Big John's Plumbing called on Sunday morning and we confirmed that the repair could wait until Monday morning. Mr. Ramon showed up Monday and worked for three hours+ to replace the water heater. He ran into several non-compliance methods used when the original water heater was installed. He revised and installed the correct connections and insured we were up to code. We had hot water an hour after Mr. Ramon's departure.
