My daughter took an interest in skateboarding all of a sudden so we came to support our local skate shop! The store is very well stocked with complete skateboard sets which are perfect for a beginner board. Some of the brands we saw were Santa Cruz, Birdhouse, Creature. The shop was empty at the time so they allowed us to try the skateboards out in shop, which was nice. In addition they have a good variety of decks and they sell the trucks and parts separately so you can customize your board too if desired. I also love browsing through their clothing. Kelly and Scottie were amazing. They really know there stuff. I went with my Mom to get my son a new helmet. Scottie and Kelly were fantastic. Very knowledgeable on all things skateboarding. Kelly was able to find a good fit for my sons head. We bought a quality helmet at a very good price. My Mom also decided to get him wrist guards, elbow and knee pads. Kelly and Scottie helped get him fitted and make sure that he could still move in them comfortably. Somewhere in the midst of trying on everything we ended up with 2 of the right hand wrist guards in our bag. Unfortunately, My mom lives an hour away from us. So I called her to let her know what had happened and she called Kelly. Kelly was great! My mom was able to pick up the correct one from the store with only a promise to deliver the wrong one back to her the next day. So my Mom and I exchanged the wrist guards with only having to make one trip. Thank you so much Kelly! This was more helpful than you know. I highly recommend this store for your skateboarding needs. I like this store. It is definitely tailored to the young skater boy, but I was able to find some things for myself. I would much rather support this local small business than fight the traffic to get downtown. Things I found: An awesome hat for my boyfriend, sale clothes for me and lots of awesome SC stickers. Cali Style needs your support through the challenging times to come. They have much more pressing and personal concerns than providing post sale customer service and support on complete set scooters. Is your new complete set scooter creaking in the head set? Per advice from their 13 Year old "tech"/scooter expert and builder, you apparently just have to loosten the allen bolts on the handle bar clamp, pull off the handlebar (careful not to drop and loose the handlebar clamp on the floor), pull off the top headset bearing cover, and rub light oil on the top face/rubber seal of the top headset bearing. Then put it back together remembering to start with the headset bearing cover and end with securing the handlebar clamp (all per the manual of course). If creaking persists, you apparently have a manufacturer issue that can't be fixed by a local clothing store. If your holiday purchase included a "Prodigy" complete set scooter by Blunt/Envy Scooters, consider dealing directly with the manufacturer by going to www.bluntscooters.com or www.envyscooters.com. As an upcoming grandmother I wanted to get Santa Cruz and NORCAL onzies for my future grandson. I wanted to get them at this store, because I want to support the businesses in Scotts Valley. I was waiting at 10:30 for them to open, and a girl finally showed up at 10:40. I was the only one in the store. I clearly needed help with finding things and stood there for about 5 minutes, with 2 Santa Cruz onzies in my hand wanting to know if, or where the NORCAL ones were. The girl was busy talking to her boyfriend, or it could have been another person working there, but clearly neither wanted to help me in any way. So after 10 minutes of waiting, I put what I was going to purchase back and walked out. I can easily get what I want at a variety of stores in Santa Cruz. Nice going Cali, you just lost a $100 purchase. read more

Great selection of clothing, especially with Santa Cruz clothing and hats. I brought my sister and her family, who were visiting from New Mexico, and they loaded up on a lot of gear. There are good buys especially when using the check-in discount. The staff is extremely nice and helpful, which makes shopping enjoyable. I went to Cali Style in Scotts Valley, and I found all my presents for my husband and his brothers. I love the styles and great brands. I found thing unique that I didn't see in other stores, but the prices and quality plus the good help from the owner was what make me feel easy to shop and spend less time thinking what to buy.
