One of many of their burgers, super flavorful and juicy!

Our Favorite Neighborhood Gem! This place is truly a staple for our family. It's everything you want in a neighborhood spot--family owned, welcoming, and consistently delicious. Whether we're craving a fresh salad, a juicy burger, or something authentic from their Greek menu (the GreekSadila, Greek Chicken & Gyros are must-haves!), they always hit the mark! The staff treats you like family, and the casual vibe makes it easy to relax and enjoy. Plus, the patio is dog-friendly, so our furry family member never gets left out. We feel lucky to have this place just around the corner--can't recommend it enough!

Food is good however, one thing I hate is you pre-order online but you have to stand in the ordering line for your pick up. They should have a pick up line or pick up area because why wait to pick up your food while people try to decide what they want to order. Got home opened food and order online is wrong Did not ask for onions, onions came on both burgers.

Ambience: The place is easily accessible from either the side street or Irving with an ample parking lot and great signage so you can't miss it. The baseball theme is used for the decor throughout the exterior and interior with grand wallpaper to the smallest details. There was only one family there when we arrived on a Sunday at lunch time. During our meal, a few people did come to order at the counter, but I was surprised how quiet the place was. Maybe when there's a big game, more people come since there are several nice TV screens showing sports. Service: It's order at the counter, but the service is excellent. We started staring at the menu overhead and right away, a cheerful employee offered us paper menus which was so much easier. We went away a free paces to review the extensive menu and found ourselves in the bar area so I took a pic of the bar specials. When another employee saw us there, she came over right away to serve us drinks. We weren't getting alcohol but I was impressed at how helpful everyone was. When we ordered , the employee let me know right away that my meal would take 20 mins. We weren't in a rush but were happy to be forewarned. She offered to bring out the salads right away to stave off some hunger. And although it was order at the counter, they brought the food to our table on beautiful bowls with reusable flatware. Food: neither of us were in the mood for a sandwich unfortunately. I suspect their burgers are the main star. But my sister ordered the kebabs and I got the half chicken. Both came with salads and I was quite impressed with them. My Caesar had homemade large bread crumbs that were crunchy and good if not overly seasoned with lots of freshly shaved Parmesan. The Greek salad was loaded with veggies including bell pepper, onions, olives, and even an anchovy! Unfortunately, neither of us were as impressed with our meals. Good but not 100%. The garlic bread was the best part which was flavorful with a lovely crunch and chew. Not overly garlicky but just a good flavor overall. Not too dry nor greasy at all. The coleslaw was also good in a standard sort of way. Creamy and crunchy. A refreshing contrast. However, I found my half chicken a bit dry. Not terrible just nothing to rave about. The bbq was poured on top not baked with it and was quite sweet without any depth or interest. So while it might have added some moistness, I pushed it off the chicken because it was too sweet for me. The rice was slightly firm and I would have preferred it cooked a bit more. It reminded me of Spanish rice which I happen to not enjoy. My sister's chicken kebabs were delightfully spiced but also far too oily so her bread was soggy from sitting on the oil. I dipped my dry chicken in the oil pooling on her plate which definitely enhanced my meal! Her potato wedges were drowning in oil which wasn't flavorful like that of the kebabs. I'd come again to try the sandwiches but wouldn't get the kebabs or the half chicken again.

What a fun place! We came here for dinner before we left out of town last week. The location is decorated with Cubs stuff inside and out. I also appreciated the Cubs Jerseys lined up on the walls on the way to the bathroom. Whoever got them done knows what's up as they are either Beckett or JSA'd authenticated which means its the real deal. It was a Friday night around 6p and the restaurant was about more than half full as the staff were buzzing around taking care of everyone about their food or delivering their drinks. The place is 1/2 bar and 1/2 restaurant and while the menu may be a bit overwhelming, the variety is appreciated. Given I was going to be a on plane for 4 hours, I didn't want to go too heavy so I just did a Natural Single Burger and had an Old Irving Park beer to go along with it as it was a keep your pint night. Next time, I would go with a double as that patty is small maybe 6oz? The fries were good and seasoned well. I know it was a Friday night and all but the House and Freestyle felt like it was at a volume 11. It was hard to have a conversation during dinner but again maybe it was because it was a Friday night? The parking lot can fit about 15 cars or so but you can find parking along Irving Park if necessary. I'd come back here but maybe do carry out next time.

    Very cool wall art.

We live in the neighborhood and walked by so many times before the grand opening. It was popping, the place is very nice inside and the patio area has heat which is really nice! The staff was very friendly and we really love the way you can see the food cooking. We were excited to try the pull pork sandwich, hotdog, north side burger, and their signature BLB burger. We waited 25 min for our order and got home to eat. They mistakenly gave us the curveball instead of the BLB burger:( my husband was very sad but the curveball was ok. The burgers themselves were decent size for the price. Overall really good atmosphere, nice staff, and everyone wearing masks. We will give BLB 4 stars for that. Just make sure you check your orders before leaving the place if you order to go.

Came in for a quick dinner! Food is good - nice sports bar with indoor & outdoor seating. Graham central milkshake was amazing - I'm not a sweets person but it was delicious. Then I had the chicken pita sandwich which was mediocre. My partner had the burger and it was good. There seemed to be a lot of space open for a Saturday night so good place to come with a group. Would come back for ice cream etc.

    BLB burger- insanely good!

We have passed this place so many times and never stopped until yesterday. REALLY impressed... awesome patio and atmosphere, very clean, large menu with decent prices, woman working counter on 10/19 night was extremely nice and helpful with a first time order (and she was really busy) and the best part...the food was OUTSTANDING! Thr fries here are 5 star alone, portions generous and items packed with flavor. Partner ordered the BLB burger (hands down best burger I've had in the city) and I had the american gyro. We will definitely be back soon!

Really enjoyed the live music as well, although it was hard to chat nearby because it was really loud at times (still loved it and we just moved away a bit so we could chat and still enjoy the vibes. There are a LOT of kids on this patio, which I always find to be a little odd to me at bars/breweries, but everyone was pretty well behaved and parents were attentive so it was not a real issue. I really appreciate that the owners are trying to be welcoming to everyone- there were all different kinds of people hanging out, on dates, hanging out with friends, etc. A great first date spot I bet! I'm not a beer drinker but they had good alternatives and my companions who did try the beers had rave reviews. Again just a great addition to the neighborhood and highly recommend a visit!

With that, my experience at Lake Effect Brewing Co. was fantastic. Though their beer menu isn't terrifically vast, they have a solid selection, with some options being delightfully creative! After trying a sample, I ordered a 5oz pour of a watermelon something (forgive me, I don't remember the exact name), a lovely brew that I greatly enjoyed sipping on their patio. Speaking of which, the patio is a surprisingly large and comfortable space. It's perfect for enjoying a cold one, especially when the weather is nice. Whether you're there on your own, with friends, or making brand new ones, the area is ideal! The only thing I'll mention is this: you know how, in a Chicago alley, you're never really alone thanks to the presence of certain 1-lb creatures. Because the patio borders an alleyway, you can't avoid seeing a couple of these guys running along the sides. As for the service, I really appreciated how friendly and welcoming the owner and his colleague were. There was also no problem trying a sample, which may be common in such places, but was nonetheless appreciated. Finally, in a world where everything costs an arm and a leg, I appreciate that their prices are reasonable. One of the things I love about local breweries is that there is always something new to try. With this, plus the friendly, comfy, and low-key vibe, I will absolutely be adding Lake Effect to the rotation of places where I am a regular.
