I'm dating myself by even referencing Pick N'Save but that's how I will always remember my shopping experience as I step into a Big Lots. I used to find some great deals even after it changed over! $14 for snack sized Frito-Lays that you can get at Costco is the first thing that caught my eye until I spotted the price. That's regular Costco prices! Admittedly less than regular supermarkets but I expected slashing of prices! What. Has. Happened. $14 for generic curtains, $10 for a sheet pan?, $2.49 for Oreos, etc. Most items were the same or equal to sale price. Where'd by bargains go?! I found artisanal olive and herb cracker chips which were surprisingly good for $1.50. I always shop the stationary hoping for surplus liquidation. I found a pack of Pentels that are at the 99 cents store being sold for $3 at Big Lots. :( I did score a 4 pack of fat Bics: 1.0s though. Honestly it really saved really the trip. First off beyond racist! Dropped half of my daughter items when they were being scanned. Didn't scan all her merchandise with the barcode in the book so when we came back to pick up the big items they didn't scan the box springs. Sylvia is her name always hovering over other employees when trying to help us. When she had her leasing agreement, instead of her putting the number in she called the company like we was doing fraud. I been shopping at Big Lots for years and have never been treated so bad. PUG SLIPPERS!!!! BAE MUGS!!! (Bacon And Egg) Expensive looking Christmas Decors!!! So so soft towels!!! YES!!! I love love this Big Lots! Big Lots is usually hit or miss and it's been HITS for me. They have RANDOM items here that are usually more expensive somewhere else. They are well organized as well. For instance, their Christmas decors are grouped into themes; Rose Gold, White Christmas, Traditional colors, etc. The staff are pretty friendly and helpful. I was asked if I was "finding everything ok" while shopping. When I asked someone for something, he walked me into it, not just gave me the direction. I find that very helpful. This store is close to a Charter School. During after school time, this store gets too crowded with students. There were two older women who went crazy regulating those kids hahaha. I felt bad for them but they handled those bratz pretty funny, too! read more

I can't stand Pic N Save/Big Lots! But, I am a fan of this particular location. I was so happy to see Rob W and Wendy C's reviews on here. Unlike other Big Lots, this one: 1. Has better items and selection..it's not all junk. 2. Cleaner 3. It is still usually cluttered, but not as unorganized as all the others. 4. Cheap and great items for the shopping season including gift wrap and bows. 5. It is usually not croweded! This place also has great deals on cleaning supplies and pet toys. You can save a bundle.. BONUS..there is a great donut store next door..Grab a donut while you are here! read more

I don't shop at Big Lots very often, but when my son told me it was his best friend's birthday the next day, I knew I needed to find a gift fast. I was so glad to find this store right down the street! My son's friend is really into Angry Birds. Since I had such good luck finding Angry Bird toys at another Big Lots location last year, I hoped to find similar toys again. Although this store didn't have what I was looking for on this visit, they did have a lot of other great items. This store has really cute decorations. Whether it's for Valentine's Day, Easter, or even St. Patrick's Day, it's all here! I was happy to find nice discounts on these items. Although I'm not quite ready to shop for Easter or St. Patrick's Day yet, I did find the most adorable Valentine's Day stuffed animals and decorations. I found a large chocolate scented teddy bear and a heart covered piggy bank. They were so cute that I almost wished I were a kid again! The toy section was so large and well organized! Although I didn't find Lego sets or other toys for kids my son's age, I did find nice things for toddlers and younger elementary-aged kids. They had Fisher Price and Mega Bloks toys for toddlers, and Black & Decker tools and Hot Wheels sets for kids a bit older. When I paid for my items at the front of the store, I thought the salesperson seemed very friendly and helpful. She mentioned their frequent buyer program. If you make 10 visits ($20 minimum at each visit), you would get 20% off at your 11th visit. She said they also email tons of great coupons as well. Since I was a bit disappointed by how expensive things were at the other location last year, I really appreciated the information about the membership program. I may not shop here enough to actually use the program, but it would be nice to have 20% off at Christmas when I buy things for local toy drives. With such a clean, well organized store and tons of adorable items, I might have to shop at this Big Lots location a bit more often! read more

Went into big lots today for a few items. Most items were for my dogs. Yes, they have a lot of good bones that my dogs love.. I also got a plastic tub for the garage. The place was fairly clean due to the shopping volume. The checkout was a mess. People were moving so slow. the check out people were either checkout challenged or just not wanting to work. Either way it took so long I was going to leave and come back near closing time when no one is there. When I finally got to the register it took for ever for the woman to scan my items. Yes, the scanner was working, she just took forever. WTF??? don't work if your not happy. do not take it out on customers.. The management should step in and get people thru the line at a good pace!! Come on!!! The items were priced well and lots in stock here. I will start going in later for sure 3 stars for this visit based on the very slow checkout process.... read more

She checked all the cushions, made sure there were no scratches and it was in good shape. She was gracious and kind through the whole process. My friends and I were simply walking through the parking lot near Big lots, as a Big lots employee comes out rudely and starts yelling at us. He assumed we were doing something to his car, when really we just walked passed us. He yelled at us and made up accusations. It's crazy that corporations hire employees such as this guy. I am absolutely disgusted with the customer service I received when I had come to do a return at this location. JOANNA AND DANIEL- (the manager lol) were extremely unprofessional and were arguing with me about the fact that I paid with cash (which is showed on my receipt) and then the rest on My card. I wanted my cash back that I paid part of my transaction with since I paid with both cash and card and they kept fighting with me saying that their computer doesn't work like that and just automatically completed my return without asking me if they could put it on the card! They are supposed to verify because what if I didn't even have that same card anymore?! And the law is that anything under $10, if requested by the customer, they are to give you cash back regardless. (Oh, but their store doesn't work like that... with the law? According to their brilliant manager Daniel. I was in retail for over 14 years and not once have I ever treated a customer that way, not to mention that I know about how different POS systems work. Not to also mention the fact that I was extremely nice when I first walked into the store, and the moment Joanna walks up to the register and do my transaction, She just had a terrible vibe, and her smug face was not at all welcoming and was rude to begin with. I don't know what her problem was or why I was treated like that, but I will no longer be coming to this location, no wonder all the big lots are closing down, because if all of their employees and managers like that, then it is no wonder, so they probably aren't even going to be having jobs much longer anyways... and if their store doesn't close, both Daniel and Joannas bad attitudes alone will get them fired eventually. Regardless, they need training on good customer service and how you're not supposed to argue with the customer. Especially when I wasn't even trying to argue, I was just wanting my original form of payment. I spent a lot of money here and I didn't want to have to return the shorts that I bought, but unfortunately, since they don't have fitting rooms, I wasn't able to try them on first, so that was why I had to bring them back in the first place. They had the tags on them and everything. So I don't understand what the problem is, but I will be reaching out to corporate as well, because I am not happy at all, and I don't like that they were fighting with me for no reason. It's rare that I even leave bad reviews, I'm about 99% of my reviews are all positive, so that should tell you how upset I am and how crappy this visit was. read more

I give this Big lots 5 stars because..... Let's face it. Other Big lots locations are cluttered, unorganized, messy, OLD and just plain uninviting. I was pleasantly surprised to walk into a Big lots that was actually spacious and CLEAN. Maybe it's because they are pretty new unlike the other locations. They have an excellent layout and have more selections when it comes to pots for gardening. You'll find it much cheaper here vs. amazon or home depot. I bought a huge plastic container for my tomato and jalepeno plants along with some cute little rectangle plant containers for my herbs. They also carry $3-$5 dog toys and treats. There is an abundance of holiday goodies on sale for 50% or more off. Stock up on those gift wrapping papers and cards! I will be back for more pots and containers for my garden! read more

I honestly never think to come here when I am looking for things for my home. But after my trip this weekend, I think I will moving forward. We wanted to find a storage bench type thing for our patio. Home Depot is super expensive, Target is okay...but we wanted to see if there was a better deal to be found at Big Lots. There wasn't - they didn't have what we were looking for. However, I loved their garden section! I always buy little things for my garden, from decorative fencing, to garden statues, to solar lights...and they have it all! Also, we were not in the market for an area rug, but we could not pass up the deal of a 5' x 8' tan and black area rug for the living room for $39! If that rug was at Target it would have been over $100, for sure. It looked like they have a huge selection of frames and wall decor. The next time I get in a "let's re-do the guest room" phase, I will come here and check out what they have before I go and spend too much money somewhere else! read more

Took a stroll through Big Lots the other night when I was in the area having dinner at Slaters. I normally don't shop at Big Lots unless it's for very inexpensive toys for kids to play with at family or neighborhood gatherings. This way, I figure - after it's broken or taken, I'm not going to lose any sleep at all. Anyway - I used to visit the location in Mission Viejo and i have to say that this location in Anaheim Hills was much cleaner and organized, however lacking in variety. It was odd to find items in the right aisle or department for that matter here. In Mission Viejo, I remember looking through every aisle to find things and sometimes finding items in departments that aren't even remotely close. My friend and I didn't buy anything but I do have to mention that my friend must not shop at Big Lots much as she seemed shocked to find that Big Lots sells furniture. She even made it a point to look around at each piece and arrangement. read more

I came to Big Lots because I needed a coffee table. I found one and then I had to hunt down a worker to help me get it. This worker/manager took down the serial numbers and she said she would go back and check to see if they have the coffee table in their warehouse. 15 minutes later, she approaches me from another direction (not the warehouse) says they don't have the coffee table in stock. I'd have to give this place a 4 because 1- it's not ghetto 2 - the items are organized along the aisles 3 - the place is clean 4 - the staff are helpful 5 - the place doesn't look raided or freshly looted did I mention I like to list? straight to the point. However,( and this is for all big lots, ) I wouldn't try any of their foreign cleaners, facial scrubs, or hair products unless you have personal experience with them that are positive. Just went in on Sunday night, Nov 22nd at 4:15 and not only did the staff let two customers in without masks but the cashier himself did not have his mask on over his nose. At the peak of COVID this is a public health issue. Irresponsible, reckless and management needs to protect their customers and employees. Really pissed. read more

I like Big Lots. This one is fairly good size compared to some, but the service is one of the worse. They never have enough check stands open and always long lines when I get there. The last 2 times I visited, I walked out because the lines were too long and too slow. read more

I rarely go to Big Lots but that's because I haven't been to one I like as much as this one. I see myself coming a lot more now for home goods. This place is: Organized and tidy Location is big and sells home furniture All staff is friendly and helpful Great pricing on all items Offers discount coupons Holiday items displayed well Food aisles are well stocked They also have two shopping carts. One is larger than the other for the big buys. Recommend checking expiration dates on food items. Some might expire a couple weeks later so keep in mind if looking to keep for a long time. read more

I love this Big Lots! It is so CLEAN and Well organized! It is also hidden in the hills along Santa Ana Canyon Road in Anaheim Hills, so only locals really know about this hidden gem of a store. They have great bath and body products, as well as cleaning and laundry supplies. The best part about this store is the home furniture and accessories. They have towels I have seen at JC Penneys and Macys for a fraction of the price. They also have very cheap and high quality decorative pillows to use for decoration. Overall, I will say this is the best Big Lots store in all of northern OC! read more

After consuming a bazillion calories for lunch over at a neighboring hamburger joint/sports bar, I decided I needed to work off the meal by taking a walk around Big Lots. Shopping days beyond the infamous 'Black Friday', there were still parts of this store I found thrashed and depleted, but in general, this Big Lots has lots to offer. Big Lots is always full of seasonal items. Always. This one is no different. You'd be a idiot to pass up this store on it's Christmas offerings. Here, you've got your decorations, you've got the fake tree, you've got all the wrapping paper, boxes and ribbons you could ever want and the prices on gifts are extraordinary. And if you don't particularly like fake trees, there is a Christmas tree lot here at the front of the parking lot. When I walked in the door, I noticed the Ronco Showtime Rotisserie cookers. My son happened to point out a Wolfgang Puck electronic pressure cooker for $99. I found a lot of craft stuff, a ton of juice and sports type drinks and Wisk? My beloved Wisk? I wanted to round them all up and take them home like a cute litter of puppies, but alas my son said I already had laundry detergent, so I didn't buy a one. More brand name dropping: Nutrisystem, elf cosmetics, Head and Shoulders shampoo, Broyhill furniture. There is just a bucket load of cool stuff here. This location is O.K. by me. As you read this review, keep in mind, I haven't been to a Big Lots (formerly known as Pic N Save) in over 25 years. Let's do the math.. I think I was 6 and my mom bought me some wonder woman underoos!! For whatever reasons, I've just never had the desire to check it out. All that changed this morning when I was going through a month worth of mail and came across their mailer...DVD storage rack for $29. I've been searching high and low for just the right DVD storage unit and this one looked like what I wanted. First of all I was impressed by the overall variety of items, while I personally wouldn't buy their food or cosmetics, they have everything from home decor crap, toys, patio accessories, tools, pet items,stationery, back to school stuff, furniture, mattresses... you name it! I felt some of the home decor accessories were a little overpriced, for example, a three piece set mirror, and two wooden arty looking things for $50, you could probably find at Home Goods for $30, but all in all, you can find some sweet deals. I ended up buying a different DVD storage unit than the one in the ad, $25 a pop, so I bought three to house my ginormous collection. Overall, this place is clean and relatively well organized compared to say, Ross. One of my only disappointments, was that they don't take American Express. Oh and lest I mention the complete first season of "Joey" yours for only $6... hurry that may not last! read more

I fucking LOVE Big Lots ! I went to the one in Placentia long long long ago, and I don't really remember it and I just visited this one a couple weeks ago. OMG. WHY WHY WHY WHY have I not gone here before !? or more often !? Shit ! This place is amaaaazing. It's really organized and clean. I don't remember what the Placentia one looks like and I've never been to any other locations but my little sister ((who re-introduced me to the store)) kept emphasizing how organized this store was. There is almost EVERYTHING here from food ((like canned soups and ramen)) to dishes, furniture, diet pills, cook books, CDs, clothes, greeting cards, perfume..! OMG. And it's allllllll at a discount ! I love a discount. I've purchased a greeting card here, a handheld vacuum (($20 ! YAY !)), SoftLips brand lipbalm (($1.50 for a 2-pack ! At least $2 cheaper than at Target)), 24-pack of pens (($2))... It's great. They don't have EVERYTHING I need, of course. But for what they do have, I have been satisfied thus far. After my first (re-))visit, I couldn't shut up about the damn store. SO FUN. read more

I used to shop at Pic N Save (Big Lots' former name) only for Christmas decorating items. The nearest one used to be 8 miles away in Orange and there just wasn't enough incentives for me to go on a regular basis. I was stunned when one opened up in Anaheim Hills a couple of years ago. The parking lot is never busy and I often wondered how long it would last! Nevertheless, I've shopped here since then, mostly for gift wraps ($1/ea), gift bags ($1/ea), and stationary items. I have to say though every time I step into the store, I was bowled over! They have the most amazing close-out items! They sell everything from everyday consumables, domestics, home and garden, toys, tools, stationery's, small appliances, outdoor patio furniture, and even home furniture now. My biggest surprise came yesterday when I was just going in to buy a gift bag and some gift tissue and saw Serta Mattress on sale! I've been looking to buy a full size mattress for my son's new bed for a couple of months now. I've gone to Costco, Mattress Galleria, Custom Comfort Mattress, and a couple of other stores. Most require you buy a whole set except for Custom Comfort, and I really don't need a box spring since it's a platform bed. I asked the manager how I could order one and he said they were in stock! And I could buy just the mattress alone! There were 4 different models and I chose the Serta Courtland Plush Perfect Sleeper. The bed has enough support with a plus soft top. It was all brand new still wrapped perfectly in original manufacturer's plastic cover. And the price was unbelievable! $279.99 plus taxes which came to $301.69!!! They do provide delivery service starting at $60. Since I only live a couple of miles away. I bought some rope and tied the bed to the SUV's luggage rack and drove it home! Now Big Lots is not where you shop for fine gifts, but if you're looking for some great bargains, check out their website. You just might find what you're looking for. read more

Anaheim Hills Big Lots is a fine example of what the company has to offer. The store is clean and organized. The lighting gives all of the products a chance to shine because the place is well lit and very clean. This location has a great selection of toys. I was surprised at the variety ranging from outdoor athletics to indoor electronics and everything in between. We came here looking for a birthday present for a one year old and ended up with an additional present for "older sister" too. read more

Not that I'm in any way surprised that a store like Big Lots would have such horrible customer service, but-it's worth noting regardless. My Mother, (against my advisement) purchased a new couch sectional and recliner from Big Lots this past August. We have had the furniture less than 6-months, and already the recliner is broke. The recliner feature (whatever you call that officially) will not go back in. Because my Mother purchased an extended warranty, I contacted that company on her behalf in an effort to resolve the issue; I was told that because the furniture is less than a year old, it is still the store's responsibility. I then proceeded to call the store, and was told that the manager was not in, but that a note was left and the manager would be sure to call me by 12:30pm the following day. I received no call. When I called the store, first I was transferred to the furniture department, where I was then hung up on. I called again, told the same girl that I was hung up, she said she would get her manager, at which point, I was sent to some sort of internal mailbox system with no way to even leave a message. When I called yet again, don't you know......now they do not answer. This is deliberate. Big Lots uses caller ID. I know this because when I called the day before, the man already knew my name and number, saying it came up on their phone. Therefore, this was very deliberate; A business that apparently makes it a practice to ignore its customers. This store is a joke, and I will be, when I can get in contact with someone, be complaining further. -.... now a week later, and the store can not find a new chair as, wouldn't ya know - no store had one that isn't broke. SHOCKER! The manager proceeds to tell my mom that she can bring the chair back and pick something new. UMMMMMM NO! We are not loading your furniture up, that's YOUR BURDEN. This had turned into just a ridiculous mess, and it's still not resolved. Lesson learned..... NEVER BUY FURNITURE FROM BIG LOTS. EVER!!! read more
