I needed white socks and tshirts. All of these items are locked up in cabinets....REALLY? In Salem, there are rows of these items where I can peruse w/o glass and don't require to contact personnel in order to make a purchase. This is VERY inconvenient and what is wrong with this store? Are people stealing tshirts, socks, underwear and more? I believe that their batteries are also this way too. Finding someone to open the case was not something I wanted to do, so I just drove across the street to TARGET where I could find what I wanted and I could make the purchase on my own - the selection was less, but I was more than happy NOT to have to seek out someone with a key to make a small purchase. (Apparently the clientele between these two stores is very different or perhaps it is just the way that Walmart handles it or treats their customers - I do find it insulting that the store has to lock up things or perhaps it is just sad... :-( ) In looking at he reviews, I see that someone else has commented on items locked up tight and the hassle she had to get to the item of interest: Bad customer service experience I asked for help three times and nobody could get somebody with a key for something small I wanted in the glass cases. They made an announcement to the store and there was still nobody until one woman noticed I was waiting and went across to the store to get a set. I guess this store has a lot of mistrust with people having keys that nobody has one ---- This just stresses the fact that I will continue to visit other Walmarts if that is the store I need for an item and avoid the Methuen store if at all possible. I recall someone telling me about 20 years ago that they refused to go to this store also.

I've found that I've purchased items in store, gone home and received an email with the same item price lowered... & It's never a problem with them doing an adjustment. Any employee I've been in contact with has always been friendly, and most helpful. If asked they will assist without hesitation. Their cheery attitude makes for a great shopping experience.

Sometimes you see the lovely, polite employees and sometimes you run into the rude ones that blab to other employees loudly instead of focusing on the customers. The store also could definitely be more organized. Also it's very disappointing how much inventory is stolen from this location. I was in the makeup isle and the amount of empty boxes was quite sad.

Great variety and seasonal items. I also like the food section- you never know what you can find here. So glad they came to Salem- now I can shop local. I ordered a drive up order since I have a sick toddler. I forgot items and made a second order 30 minutes later. The second order was ready 5 hours later and had to be picked up by the end of the day. The first order was ready the next morning and I had til Friday to pick it up. Why the first one was ready second, I do not understand. I ordered 2 guaranteed pickup since I needed the help with the groceries, but when I arrived, the drive up "is unavailable." They could easily just turn off the feature as other stores have done. Save the headache and go to Methuen, or just skip all targets.

To the point where it's likely a safety hazard. How management allows this is beyond me. The layout is weird and doesn't follow the same format most Target stores seem to follow. The selection of beer and wine sucks and is randomly scattered through the grocery section. The only thing this Target has going for it is self-checkout. Even the lack of sales tax doesn't make it worth the trip here. I'd go to any of the Massachusetts locations before this one.
