    Cowboy steak

YUM! Let's start there. This steak was so good. This was the first steak that I took my time with. Normally I am of the mindset of let me eat this steak before it cools off. This steak is so good, let me scarf it down. Not this time. As I ate this steak, I often thought... How? How did they get this to be consistently tender? While writing this, I stared at the image of that steak and my mouth watered and I again wondered... How? I was definitely full after eating this and all the other food that came with it which was also very, very good. I don't remember but I'm pretty sure this wasn't our first choice but I'm glad we ended up here. There was something that I missed out on but I forget and this is why you should write your reviews immediately. There was some option that I didn't know existed but by the time I heard the waiter explain it to the table across from us, our food was on the way out so I couldn't change. I was very happy with my meal so it didn't matter too much especially since I can't be upset for something I didn't have. The vibe is a premium steakhouse vibe. They may only have booths and the booths were slightly odd. they were bigger than a 2 person booth but I'm not sure 4 would sit there comfortably. Especially not 4 ppl my size :-). It wasn't noisy at all. We were able to have a decent conversation and not feel like we were straining to be loud enough to hear each other but soft enough that others aren't in our conversation.

Lewnes Steakhouse came in class for a dinner celebration. Accommodating due to delays caused by the storm, Schelle met us at the hostess stand with care and welcome. She made sure we arrived fine and parked in a safe space, she quickly checked us in and seated us herself. As others have mentioned, Lewnes's ambiance is cozy, softly lit, and white table classic. We were greeted immediately by our server Jeff. Absolutely friendly, he took our cocktail order, our dinner selections, and made sure everything was to our liking. Truly attentive and outstanding service. My Old Fashioned was made with Angel's Envy. Traditional and tones of caramel sweet. We were served an onion boule with a block of fresh butter and it was a wonderful bridge to our mains. The seafood bisque is so rich, prominent smokiness of the paparika, and the flavors luscious. Not salty and take some of that boule to polish it off. I am particular about my ribeye and Lewnes satisfied in every morsel. Tender melt in your mouth excellent char in the ends. Yes, ratio of butter was on point. Parking is limited in the area, plan ahead. Having had Prime Rib, Born & Raised, Peter Lugers, Old Homestead, and Capa, Lewnes has been added to my tops. Highly recommend.

Sent my parents here to celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary and they were extremely pleased. They said the service was great, the place they sat was very quiet and personal. The food was beyond cooked to perfection!

This was a very old school-esque steakhouse; dark ambiance, wood paneling, white table cloths. They had a great wine-by-the-glass menu and a massive bottle list. The only downside was both of our steaks were overcooked; mine came medium instead of medium rare and hers came medium well instead of medium. Other than that, everything was perfect. Favorites were definitely the mashed potatoes and our brownie a La mode dessert which was incredibly fudgy and warm. Would love to come back next time we're in Annapolis!

My husband loves going to Lewnes' for birthdays, for a good steak in Annapolis this is hands down our go to spot. The environment is intimate with small booths in an older building in Eastport, old photos lining the walls, Sinatra and Fred Astaire playing..you know the vibe. You're welcomed with warm bread in the table with a wedge of butter. The past few times we've visited we had a wedge salad to start, it's really great. I know you don't go to a steakhouse for a salad but..just get the salad. We also love the thick bacon appetizer because well it's bacon, what's not to love? This visit we split a tomahawk steak (something obscene like 40oz), chef recommended medium rare "plus" so we opted for that. The sustainably sourced their beef from US farms, they have a write up in the menu highlighting sources like 4H and Future Farmers of America which I thought was great. Our steak was cooked perfectly medium rare: great flavor. Our server perfectly timed our courses and was quick to refill drinks and checked in frequently. Overall just a great, consistent local steakhouse.

Creamed Spinach French Fried Potatoes Lyonnaise Potatoes

I searched up what the best steakhouse in Maryland is and this place popped up. I did extensive research into the menu before visiting to get the best dishes. I'm not sure if my taste is just different, but the creamed spinach and lyonnaise potatoes were just okay. The French fried potatoes were good, it's a hybrid between a chip and a fry, very unique. The thick cut bacon just tasted like salty ham, however it was still good. The crab balls were DELICIOUS, absolutely packed with meat. All the reviews here are very contrasting, but if you had to get one side, I recommend getting the crab balls. Everything else is honestly not that worth it. For the main entree we chose the tomahawk ribeye medium rare, and it was very rare when it came out, however it was still very smooth and easy to chew. It was only disappointing because the steak was rather cold, and lacked flavor. Do not come to this steakhouse expecting flavor in every dish. It truly just tastes like the ingredients, nothing insane.

The ambiance at Lewnes' is cozy and dark -- it feels like the kind of place where politicians might have once gathered to make backroom deals. Even though it was founded in the '90s, it carries a historic, old-school charm. We started with the salad, which was fresh and flavorful (and surprisingly had potatoes in it!). THE BREAD. WARM AND DELICIOUS. The seafood bisque was also pretty good -- rich, flavorful, and packed with nice chunks of crabmeat. The creamed spinach was a classic, and the potato frites were different but fun -- more like homemade potato chips than typical fries. We were celebrating a birthday and decided to go big with the 40oz tomahawk steak to share. We asked for it medium rare, but it came out a bit too red for our taste. We sent it back -- twice -- and each time the staff was incredibly gracious and professional, never once showing any frustration. Their hospitality really stood out. To drink, I tried the bourbon cocktail called the "Revolver," and it was incredibly smooth -- definitely worth ordering if you're into bourbon. Between the warm service, flavorful food, and some unique touches on classic steakhouse dishes, we'd absolutely return. Great spot for a special occasion or a cozy night out!

Best steakhouse around! Never had a bad meal here, my favorite is the creamed spinach side. Love coming here for date nights!

My partner took me for my birthday dinner as it was recommended by friends, & we weren't "blown away" like they were. Warm & intimate vibe within the restaurant, & the staff were very knowledgable & accommodating. Their wine selection was very impressive, but my ding would be for the Old Fashioned that he ordered.. wasn't very good. The steak was cooked perfectly temp wise, but overall was lacking seasoning/flavor. I'll say this though - the steak was literally almost the size of my face LOL! Mashed potatoes were silky smooth, & serving sizes were absolutely enough for two. Overall it was a nice evening, but just okay for us.

Dessert surprise- for our special occasion!

Great food and better service, we like it better than the chain steakhouses. Drinks or dinner, it is a great spot to find yourself.

The bar was loud and lively around happy hour, while the patio was much quieter and gave us a more relaxed place to enjoy dinner. I wasn't very familiar with the Italian wines, so I asked our waiter for a recommendation. He brought me a sample before I ordered a full glass, which was a thoughtful touch. His recommendation was excellent. My partner ordered the Pineapple Tiki Old Fashioned and she loved it. The filet mignon sliders were delicious. My Black Linguine Arrabbiata had a little spicy kick and was very good, with calamari, clams, mussels, crab meat, and spicy marinara. The one disappointment was the tiramisu, which neither of us cared for. Our waiter was helpful and attentive throughout the meal without making us feel rushed. Between the food, thoughtful service, and comfortable outdoor seating, we had a very enjoyable evening. The lively interior is a good option if you want more energy, but the patio was perfect for a quieter meal in the beautiful weather. The feta chunks neither added nor detracted from the dish. A dollop of mascarpone or ricotta would have given it an even richer, meltier finish. Heck even a whipped feta would've added more depth. The blend of meats was outstanding with a pleasant kick of spice, while the mellow, flavorful marinara had a thinner consistency that made it perfect for crostini dipping. Lobster RavioliThe sauce was unquestionably the star of the show. The pasta tasted homemade with a wonderful texture. Unfortunately, the lobster seemed either overcooked or not at its freshest, as it had a noticeable fishy flavor and a chewy texture. The fresh lump crab, however, made for an excellent garnish and added a bright, sweet contrast. Smoked Pineapple Rum Old FashionedThe pineapple-infused rum came through nicely, giving the cocktail great flavor. The smoke, however, was much more subtle than I expected. I knew it had been smoked because the bartender presented it with a plastic smoking device over the glass. I was anticipating the more dramatic wood-smoke presentation under a glass dome that I'm accustomed to. It was also missing the classic Luxardo or maraschino cherry garnish, and without any garnish at all, it felt like it was missing that final finishing touch. OverallWhile it didn't quite reach Feed My Soul status, everything was genuinely good. An added bonus is that it's within walking distance of Maryland Hall, making it a perfect stop before or after a show. ServiceFriendly staff and impressively fast service. The food arrived much quicker than expected.
