I used to love this place. I worked here all through high school when Ted Storms owned it. I was there for the transition when the very Amazing man Ed and his brother Phil purchased it from Ted. Ed and Phil taught me so much. I grew up without a consistent father in my life and these men among others like Floyd taught me many things that i carry with me today. It breaks my heart to leave such a review for a place thats kinda near and dear to me. The gentleman who works in there now named Kyle listed some tires on Facebook. My son saw them and in a roundabout way I made it so he could get good tires. The thing is that they didn't fully tighten my right rear wheel. It eventually came loose and destroyed the expensive rim. I messaged them immediately and I said stuff happens and I was very calm I asked them to just replace the rim and let's forget about it. They asked if I have surveillance cameras and implied that a neighbor loosened my wheel. I live in highlands ranch. My wheels are keyed and my caps are a security torx. No one has touched those lug nuts but them. Now I have to do even more and file a lawsuit against a place that I once loved. It sucks. I wouldn't let these guys work on a tire on my daughter's tri-cycle if they paid me. Zero accountability with these bastards. read more

Took one car in to check tires and they filled my tires over 40psi when they should be 32psi so one tire had popped a small hole later in the day. Refused to take it back since they claimed the tires need to be overfilled due to the weather. Recently thought I'd give them another shot and took another car to get a window fixed and when I got it back it was still making a crunching noise when using the window and now the whole front end shakes and rattles. Brought it back again and they claimed nothing was wrong and the manufacturer must have done something wrong with the car somehow and that's what made the front end rattle. I Bring it home and my tires are also way overfilled and separating. Do not recommend this place. Messed up 2 of my cars. Don't think I'd ever give them another chance. I had stopped a Discount Tires and was given some incorrect info on my tire with a nail in it. They said it couldn't be fixed. Sell me new off brand no problem. So stopped at Big O and due to their tire guy (Derick) it could be fixed. No need to spend money on a different name brand tire. No high pressure to buy. They were great to work with. Encountered the same "Richard" as a couple of other reviewers. Late 50 y.o. Hispanic male counter manager. Without going into explicit detail of my experience with this person on two different mornings, suffice it to say he does not belong in a representative position dealing with the public. Observationally he appears to be incompetent and tries to make up for it with unprofessional conduct. Terse snippy verbally rude questions and responses; refuses to make eye contact. Demonstrate a failure to recognize that he is there because of the customers, the customers are not there because of him. After a span of 15 minutes of this B.S, I just walked out to my truck and left. Went to a local competitor who assured me they could and would be able to meet my service needs, which they did.. I recently took in my vehicle for a routine oil change and to have the tires rotated. I expected to pay for the rotation since I hadn't purchased them there. There was no charge for that. They also suggested a new cabin filter. Mine was absolutely filthy. They were professional, speedy and most importantly, accepted a check from me without making me feel weird or promising a first born. I had to write a check as my debit card had been shut down due to fraud. With no local branch, I was forced to write a check for the 3rd time this decade. They didn't even ask me for ID. I know this is a small town but so rare in this day and age. Guess where I'll be purchasing tires from in the next few months! Thanks guys! read more

Made an appt for an oil chg by phone. The phone call with the employee was kindly and professional. When I arrived for the appt I ran into a 60 some year old Hispanic male that was highly agitated, rude & condescending. When I said I came in on the ad for the synthetic oil change he immediately began to double the price. When I showed him his ad he started in with the attitude stated above. I was going to let it go even though I normally won't let another man speak down to me like that. He started telling me to rush it, saying come on your waisting my time like hes doing me a huge favor. At that point I asked for my keys, then again & he finally gave me my keys and I said I won't do business with a place that would employ you. He said good......and that's it. This guy acts as though he's doing people a big favor and treats them like they are there to cause him grief. If I could give zero stars I would... the manager Floyd Lucero is extremely rude. I went in for an alignment the rotated my tires after being told that I did not want them rotated.. because of this when I went on a trip the tires completely wore to a dangerous condition. I went to talk to the manager about their mistake not upset when I went in and understanding things happen just trying to get to the problem. he was completely rude talked to me like I was stupid and had no accountability for his actions. He did not try to make it right at any point he called me a liar. A 300 mile trip would not completely wear my tires out. I would skip this business if you look for accountability and trust. They stripped one of my front lug bolts and I didn't find out until I go to change my front brakes. Been driving around on no front brakes for weeks trying to get different parts to fix this issue. The bolts are so tightly screwed in that it broke my Stanley ratchet trying to get it out. DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU LIKE YOUR VEHICLES TO NOT BREAK. read more

Walked in, stood there for 5 minutes listening to who I think was the owner, blabbing with a guy about the tv in the waiting room. Finally he asks what can I be helped with, barely finish my sentence and told park behind a truck. Walk back in, guy is still blabbering away with the same person, this time about Sedona and chemo, wait again for 5-10 minutes expecting more of an answer or direction on how long a wait or even an invite to just sit in the waiting room. Finally guy stops blathering on and on to say I can go sit down. And that was the point I decided I wasn't going to waste my time if this is how the owner is going to treat the customers that are paying for his business. Seriously, worst customer service ever. Got there, he told me to come back in an hour after telling me to come now. Came back for the second time, was ignored upon arrival inside. Ed then was too busy talking about getting vaccine boosters for him to service paying customers. When he finally finished his conversation, he decided to ask what I needed. Obviously a tire patch is what I needed. He then told me I would be serviced next in line. Ended up waiting almost another hour as he had me move my car up and back 3 different places to have them "service it next in line" Wouldn't return here. Have also been to the Sedona location. Neither place values customer service or knows how to properly treat paying customers. If you value good service or your time, take a hard pass on this place. And whoever owns this place should look for a new manager that can handle customers with care. read more

The BEST customer service and they didn't even put a tire on our car! We drove up to Cottonwood for the day from Phoenix and got a large puncture in a tire on the way there. Pulled in to Big O as it was the first tire store we saw. Unfortunately my car has hard to find tires but Chris tried to find something that would work to at least get us home. When they realized they didn't have anything they started calling other tire stores in the area to find us a tire. When they found one they sent us there. We recently purchased a small Rv and were worried a bit about the fluid levels. A friend recommended Big O tires in Cottonwood. I called and they said to just stop in, no appointment necessary. The service specialist helping us (unfortunately we didn't get his name) was so helpful and took his time to explain where things were and what he was checking without making us feel like we were idiots. I am used to being talked down to by mechanics because I am a female, but it is worse for my husband who although brilliant in techy stuff, he is from the city and never grew up learning car maintenance. We really appreciated the time and treatment the Big O tire specialist gave us and when we asked what we owe..he said nothing, it was complimentary. We will be back here for tires and paid service for sure. Highly recommend this place for your RV. read more

I'm being kind with 1 star & quite frankly this business does not deserve even that. This review is 100% based on Ed, the owner. I work in Cottonwood & had made an appointment during my lunch break for a tire rotation. Met with Ed, who asked me what kind of car I had. Clearly, he did not have his "listening ears" on that day, as he had to ask me several times for the same information, along with repeating things that had nothing to do with my car. It appeared to me that his mind was clearly on something or someone else. Overall, I found him to be totally unprofessional & rude. With rotation completed, I left his shop to get back to my job. When I arrived I noticed that the old sticker had not been removed nor a new one added in it's place. So much for knowing when I'll need my next rotation. Needless to say, I won't be coming back here ever again. read more

Absolutely horrible service! Just the owner Ed I have complaints about! had to have a tire fixed for a second time. I just bought these tires a few months ago. Wants to charge me for a new tire! That's one complaint, but for the owner to yell at my girlfriend, and me in the shop? absolutely uncalled for and you will be called out for this! you put my girlfriend in tears over the phone telling her it's her fault for not getting road hazard coverage when you guys never offered it in the first place when we bought brand new tires! This is on You Ed! it's a small community, you'll never see another penny from our pockets. And I want to make sure all of our friends and family know this too! we are going to spend double now at other places and it'll be so much more worth it! read more

I went in with a bolt in my front tire at 9:00 am. I talked to the manager and asked if he could possibly repair and or replace the tire. Without even looking at the tire he rudely barked at me to come back in two hours or go to Wallmart down the road. I asked if he was joking and he rudely replied "no". I stated to him, I can't drive around with a bolt in my tire. He then, again grunted to me, then to go to Wallmart. Now I am a white man, 69 years old and not very pretty to look at. After standing there a minute not believing the rude disrespectful conduct of this nut case, a young somewhat attractive lady drove up and parked about 20 feet from us, got out of her car and started walking towards the store. The nut case I had been talking to, rushed over to her and asked if he could help her. I heard her say she had a tire leaking air and could she have someone look at it. He immediately told her to pull her car into a empty bay. He instructed a young man to check her tire while he continued to talk and joke with the young lady. Of course I, by this time was extremely upset and knew the best thing for me to do was leave. I drove to Discount Tire who respectfully, politely repaired my tire with the utmost professionalism. They didn't even charge me for the repair. I gladly gave the young man that worked on my truck, a $20.00 tip. I then complemented the manager on the way I was treated by his employees and guaranteed him I would be back whenever I needed new tires on any of my vehicles. Be rest assured I will never do business with Big-O again. I have found several of my friends experienced similar rudeness from this nut case of a manager. $$BEWARE$$ I have used Big O Tire since I started driving many years ago. After moving to cottonwood I figured that the Big O Tire here would be on the same level as the ones in Tucson and Phx. I could not have been more wrong. I made an appointment a week ago, showed up 10 mins early and was told that they would get to my car in about 30 mins. Not a big issue but then was asked if I wanted a wheel alignment check at no cost to me. An hour later I noticed more than just an alignment check was going on, tires were removed and sensors being put on. When I asked the desk to explain I was told it was going to cost $70 extra, and $25 extra for the alignment check. I went in only for an oil change @ $32 which I ended up paying $41. Clearly this shop has a shady hustle going on. I feel bad for all the people that get suckered into some BS add on's that they don't even have the skills to sale you on. DONT TAKE YOUR CAR TO THIS SHOP... read more
