Bud, Thank you for the response. I do understand your position with regard to the non-OEM tires used as replacement under the "tires for life" program and your well thought out response to my comment/complaint on "Yelp". I appreciate your offer to discuss alternative tire options and a reasonable substitution; however, I had already discussed this with the customer service advisor and since my last visit required two trips, one for the 30K service and one for the tires, I was and am still unwilling to entertain a third visit. So, I guess that is my decision. This should have been handled differently to keep a customer satisfied instead of driving customers away to other dealers. If customer satisfaction remains your priority maybe proactive efforts to improve the service department would be a better way to accomplish that so responses to "Yelp" complaints would not be necessary. Unfortunately, I am now unsure what the future of my Ridgeline service will be since Bill Pearce is the only Honda dealer in Reno. I suspect, I will be trading the vehicle to a dealership with a better service history, such as Mazda like I referenced. I had good years of service experience with Dolan and feel my expectations were always met by their professionalism and friendly staff. I agree that "Had you known beforehand you could have discussed OEM options". Unfortunately, no one (including Rich Gomes my service advisor, opted to discuss that option beforehand with me. He seemed to always in a hurry when dealing with me, which caused additional stress during my visit. OEM options should always be discussed with customers beforehand to provide decisions instead of just assuming generic parts will be acceptable. Not only was this not clearly communicated but it was not communicated at all until after I complained to customer service. By then it was too late to resolve the issue without yet another visit to the service department. I also reviewed other "Yelp" comments and similar complaints have been listed over the years so this appears to be a reoccurring issue with Bill Pearce service department that has gone on with no improvement. Granted other customers have provided positive feedback as well but I am focusing on my expectations and frankly it has not improved since the purchase of my Ridgeline in 2023. Back then, during my first service appointment, I complained about Rich Gomez and asked that I not be seen by him due to his unprofessionalism and the way I was treated. Specifically, I had an appointment that spelled out why I was there and he argued with me for not telling him why I was at the service department. I even had to have my truck put back into the garage a second time since the requested service had not been completed correctly the first time. Bad first impression leaving me stressed and very disappointed. Even after that first service in 2023, I continued to return to Bill Pearce for service until my most recent 30K visit with the tire replacement. Service was consistent, in that, if I left my vehicle and used the courtesy ride back home, the service would be pushed back to later in the day. I got into the habit of waiting and got my vehicle within an hour, which was acceptable. In those cases I was a happy customer indeed. But I stress that leaving my vehicle was dubious as to when it would be completed leaving me a stressful drive back up the hill to Stead in construction traffic every time. So, I do not think there are any acceptable options moving forward. It has been almost 4 years of service at Bill Pearce and I am still having bad experiences with expectations not being met. Your service should strive to exceed customer expectations not just do the minimum. I wish I felt differently but I just do not see a path forward now. read more

The person we dealt with was Pam. She was kind and efficient. The only thing that was a bit off with our experience is she seemed to think it was only my husband that she needed to talk to when, in fact, the car was originally mine (to cart our kids around all over as they grew up). One of the worst dealer service experience I have encountered in decades of car ownership! While beginning with a friendly and informative service advisor Juliann, the experience snowballed downhill from there. My 2024 Prologue was towed in during a Turo rental. First off I was called to complete a satisfaction survey BEFORE the serviced was performed. Secondly I was charged almost $600 to inform me that the vehicle was drained to 2% charge. One hour to diagnose, one hour to charge and a third hour to rest the computer system PLUS $40 in "shop materials". THEN......and this is the most disturbing part...... Both I AND the Turo tow service unsuccessfully attempted for TRHEE DAYS days to get in touch with a service representative to release the vehicle to tow back to me in redwood city. I called, texted, got redirected, disconnected until I finally got a live representative. Days of frustration and finally speaking with service advisor who informed me that there would be no discount for this mess. Bud the manager of the service department was extremely unprofessional in how he was talking to me. I have quite literally never been treated like this in a customer service senario before. If you are looking to purchase a vehicle from here, please do not. He told me that if you aren't getting any service done here then he has no interest in trying to support me and my situation. I needed a loaner for a day until my warranty could approve a rental and he laughed in my face saying that I signed a contract stating they are not liable to help me at all. Had my car towed to get fixed here. Was told coil on number 3 spark plug was bad. Got it back and invoice said they replaced number 4. Month or so later same issue. Had it towed again. Said it was under warranty and they said they replaced number 4 again. Drove it to South Lake Tahoe and ended up stranded again! Had it towed a third time. I was supposed to be going out of town that week to spend my dad's ashes. Had to get a rental car. Was told it was number three this time ( same thing they said the first time. This time instead of $300 they wanted $700. When I mentioned the text that I had a copy of from the original fix. They didn't care saying it was a typo. My husband had them order the part and was going to replace it himself in their lot. They called me two more times asking how they could make it right but wouldn't do anything about the cost. I finally told him there was no solution and I would have to share my experience here. They canceled the part order. My husband had to get it from a different dealership and had it fixed in ten minutes. When he opened the hood of the car it was number two they'd replaced!!! Not number four. As an special education teacher if I make a typo on an IEP I have to provide what I wrote whether I intended it or not. Not sure where integrity has gone but it's not here. read more

We bought a new Honda Odyssey van here a couple of months back. I waited to do this review until some time passed and I could evaluate all aspects of this business. After having a accident with our Dodge Caravan, we decided to buy another minivan. Dodge stopped making caravan in 2020. Since Covid and some issues with Micro chip shortage has caused the market to go crazy, car dealerships have decided to start tacking on as much as $10,000 to the MSRP for what has been labeled ' market or convenience fee." We checked van prices for all the major competitors and yes it has gone crazy. 1. So the first five star qualification as that Bill Pierce courtesy Honda does not do this for locals. So we actually were able to get the minivan at MSRP. No convenience fee no markup. 2. Next five star qualification: they gave us top dollar for our dodge caravan trade-in. even with the damage on the front. I was off on the mileage by like 5000 miles, the guy came in and told me that we told him the miles wrong, but he still was going to give us the same amount quoted. 3. They have a program where if you do all of your service with Bill Pierce, they well replace your tires for free. I put a lot of miles on this van the first year, and we have just received our first set of free tires. Also, they were able to locate quite a few different incentives to reduce the price. 4. Customer service. We've done all of our new car maintenance here, they are very friendly, cost-effective, and timely. They provide a free shuttle for customers so they do not have to sit and wait. And don't forget those free tires... 5. The whole car buying process was quite enjoyable. They made sure we understood each aspect and made us feel very comfortable. No high pressure sales. When you head to finance, you know you're going to be hit with all of the options to tack on: warranties, Scotchgard, paint protection, chip protection... You know all the stuff they try. The finance guy here was quite nice and told us upfront that he had quite a few options and didn't really try to pressure us. We wanted some of the options, and the guy worked with us on the price. Over the years we have purchased from Ford 4 times, dodge 2 times and RV country. Bill Pierce Honda was absolutely the Best experience of them all. (Plus don't forget, free tire) read more
