Update 1-21-26 All synthetic oil change, and Ella Fitzgerald (my car) got a check over. All in all it was a great experience, and I will return to this store for future service. What is important to most people is honest professional workmanship, and fair prices. My car is 22 years old and has 140,000 miles , and I take care of her. I want a business to be honest and not blow smoke up my a** with things I do not really need, but inform me when I DO need something. I walked in because they wouldn't tolls appt on line because of their 1 for one sale. Looked like parking lot was full. Was told 1-1.5 hours. They took to shop Right away. I saw no less than 4 techs I see hood pulling tires, taking measurements Etc. Then before my eyes I see this tech take out a wrench firing toward my suspension and stopped him. He said he was just checking it. I told him and the rest of his gang I had just put on new tires , brakes etc. they didn't realize I was watching the whole time Before I stopped them and told them oil and filter change only. Not only that the two front counter guys walked by me and said stuff like if you watch it's double. Glad I stopped these guys because My gut was telling me they were not an honest group ,sadly. I have used this location exclusively for servicing 2 vehicles. Tires, alignments, LOF and general service work and have always been reasonably satisfied with cost, timelines and professionalism. It has been a great convenience making appointments online prior especially since i live out of town about 30 miles away. Was not able to use the Big O website to make an appointment we drove to the dealer first thing this morning but were told it would be a 5-8 hour wait just to begin LOF!? "We are so busy we terminated online scheduling "!?? What a pathetic way to treat regulars and business as a whole. Don't worry i dont think you're going to be so busy if you keep this policy and attitude towards your customers. Will not be returning, plenty of other options available nearby. read more

Poor quality of service, READ THE REVIEWS! Went in Friday for a basic alignment, they have the cheapest rates in the area... now I see why. After the alignment, had to drive to Phoenix Saturday and noticed severe pulling to one side, which shouldn't be possible if they just aligned the car. Took the car to Jack Furrier Tire/Auto on Ina and turns out Big O didn't do the job! Thankfully Jack comped some of the cost since clearly the alignment hadn't been done properly, definitely should've read the reviews for this shop prior to using them! read more

Bad customer service service at the Thornydal location. Dropped a single tire off apex 11:00 am and didn't have it fixed 24 hours later to then have an employee roll the tire at me . A friend of mine took her Kia Amanti into the Thornydale location to have her timing belt replaced. After several calls from her checking on the status and being told the mechanic was having a tough time, they finally got it together. She picked the car up and it stalled 6 times on the way home. She called them back and was told to bring the car back. Got the car back to them and now they say it needs an engine because it somehow jumped time. Car ran perfect prior to them touching it. This is for the Thornydale location. I have used them for a few years, and have been happy with the service, but this last time, they tried to scam me. My tire had a slow leak. They came out and showed me a damaged valve stem with the large monitor attached, saying it was broken and that they couldn't even get the air out of the tire, they had to remove the valve to get the air out. I was confused because i had just put air in the day before and the car has been sitting at my place, then there at Big O. They explained more, and said this part needs to be replaced. I was VERY confused about how this could have happened. I check the air in my tires regularly, and i know how my valves look and they all look and work perfectly. So i asked what my options were and the front desk person said they were out of this part (lucky for me!). I asked if they found a nail in the tire. This is what usually is the cause of a slow leak in my tires. This guy said he didn't know. So I said do what you can, and in a short time, they said my car was ready. I asked if the tire is holding air. They said it seemed to be. I asked if there was a nail in the tire and they said yes. So I go out and my valve is not the one they showed me, the broken mangled one, but a new looking valve, obviously the same valve that was in the tire when I brought it in. It has been holding air. I don't know why this happened, if they are under new management or because i had on a pink dress that day, but I will not go back to this store again. They showed their true colors. :-( read more

Big O made an appt. for me at 1 p.m. for tire rotation. I got there before 1 and told them I would have to wait for the car. They said it would take 1 - 1 1/2 hours to complete the job. At 2:30 I went to front desk and saw them just pulling my car back to the bays. I asked why and guy at desk said they were at lunch. I asked him why set an appt. for 1 p.m. if that's their lunchtime and he said he didn't make the appointment. I also had a $10 off coupon and somehow the 79.99 alignment cost 89.99 before the discount. There was another couple there waiting for a tire repair and that took over 1 1/2 hours. If you've got nothing better to do than sit around sniffing tire fumes for hours on end, this is the place for you. read more

Last night, I was in trouble. I am in town for the weekend and a long way from home. Late last night I ran over a nasty pothole that blew out two of my tires. I had no idea where to go. I found that I was near a Big O Tire shop but had never used them before. I parked my car outside the shop and got a ride back to my hotel. All night I worried if this shop would help me the next day knowing that if they couldn't, I'd be in big trouble, stranded a long ways from home until at least Monday. So this morning I show up at the shop where I had left my car and was greeted by Danny. I told him what happened and honestly was expecting to hear the worst. Danny immediately put me at ease that he could help me. I was still worried that it would take a couple days or even all day today. But instead he tells me that he'll call me in a couple hours. I can't tell you how relieved I was. Within a couple hours I was driving away reflecting how Danny could have been annoyed that I laid by emergency on him, could have given me the "standard" response for a tire shop or any number of other things that were part of my worst case scenarios. Instead his calm, professional approach made my day. Danny and the team at Big O were awesome. I don't live here but if I did, he'd have made a customer for life. Thanks Danny. Waited about 2 hours after my appointment to be advised at closing they could not assist. I asked the front desk why if I was still on the premise they wouldn't have shared that they could not get to my vehicle and then went on to ask how I didn't notice their worker running out of the building. I asked again if they knew they were backed up why they wouldn't take a few steps over to the waiting area to advise and was told the guy ran out and there's nothing they can do. Another customer was also there with an appointment who came in well before me and was told the same, also this customer was told an hour prior that they would get to her car in no less than an hour but as we understand they ended up saying to leave the car overnight and they would possibly try again the next day. If you are in a management position and can't gauge how much volume you have and whether or not you can service a customer please do not provide false information. We bring cars in for service and schedule in advance to attempt to nullify these concerns but yet Big O seems to always drop the ball. read more

We were visiting Tucson for my son's graduation from the University of Arizona when we realized that his grandparents' rental car had a nail in the tire. We happened upon this Big O store as we were going to a family outing at Top Golf. We pulled in and asked if they could help and they were wonderful. We left the car while we golfed and they patched the tire. When we came back and my dad tried to pay them, the guys just said "no problem- enjoy your graduation." I was in town to visit my sister in hospice when my tire went flat. I limped to a gas station and refilled it, but as I drove around town, the tire lost air again. Asking for help at another gas station, the attendant recommended Big O. I made it to their Thornydale shop with 20 psi and dropping. When I arrived, I fully expected I'd have to buy a new tire. Dan was very reassuring. The service was excellent and the cost was only $20. The tire was repaired and took me safely home 350 miles away. went to big O tires to purchase two tires and have them mounted. Tire price was fair. Made me wait three hours. No air tire when I left. Damaged digital stems on tire. They were an hour and a half away took them two days to call back to apologize. We weren't going to drive an hour and a half each way to make it right. Very poor service. read more

They stripped the tire lock and told me it was not their fault "it is not covered because it is an old warn part" apparently anything thing they break on a car that is over 75,000 miles is old and warn and not their fault. On top of that they do not carry replacement lug nuts so I needed to go to auto parts store to replace the locking lug nuts. You would think that a TIRE store would have some in stock with the amount of old high miles "warn out" cars out there On top of that, when I came back with the new lug nuts for them to finish the tire rotation, I got put at the end of the line and was there for another hour and a half read more

Called today because we had a slow leak in our drivers side back tire. Javier had me come right in. Sadly it was the tire we had patched previously and it had another nail. So we opted for a new tire. They didn't have our tire in stock but we're able to get one shipped over from another location within a couple ours. We came back and they put it on. After 30 minutes of waiting, with the phone every five minutes trying to redial, I hung up and called again and the man said may I put you on hold. Avoid this Big O at all costs, especially if you want to know what's going on with your car or if you want an ounce of accountability when they mess it up. I'm traveling & this was the first shop of many that I called in town for an alignment that was dog-friendly and could get me in same day, I should have waited for an appointment at Jack Furrier or even Brake Masters in hindsight. When I arrived after calling, they didn't ask why I was in for an alignment. I just had to get 2 new tires & Discount doesn't align wheels, and I had a knock that I was a little concerned was because my tires didn't match before I got the new ones in an AWD car...I didn't get the chance to ask because again, Danny at this Big O was too busy calling me "sweetheart" to ask why I brought my car in. 2 hours later, they took it back for the alignment. I found a coupon on their website for $10 off, which I was granted, but Danny must really not care about his job since I had to ask what the alignment warranty covered, and I wasn't given any information on how my wheels were before the alignment or any updates on how the service went. The one star review though? My car is now SCREECHING at low speeds, to the point where I debated getting it towed, and when I stopped back in to see if they would check it out since the only things that have changed before the incredibly loud whine started were the tires, and a day later the alignment at this Big O I was called a liar, argued with, and was offered to come back in for an appointment if I wanted them to look at it...basically, all 3 men behind the counter couldn't admit that they'd possibly made a mistake, didn't offer to see if they could do anything about the brand new noise that my car's making since I had my car serviced there, or even pretend to care about how stressful this situation is for someone who is 8 hours from home. I got admittedly upset & they decided that escalating the situation was the best decision at the time as well, which speaks to their customer service. The couple of dollars saved by coming here aren't worth it. I'm hoping it's an easy fix and that another Big O will at least listen that this noise is brand new since the Thornydale location aligned my wheels & might have really messed something up on my ride and hopefully agree to at least check it out before I drive home. read more

Found out I had a screw in my tire on the way to work. It was early and this was one of the places near me that was open. They did the work. Just seems weird to me that when they Repair your flat, they didn't check the other tires and topped of air in those. I don't think this is one of the places I'll go out of my way for. They were there in a pinch. Employees also didn't seem like they were morning people at all. They talked to each other while I was paying then would look at me for the total and then go back to their personal conversations. read more

Update to my horrible experience with big o tires on Thornydale. They never did do my oil change. After being in the waiting area for just over three hours the rude service manager came in and said they were not going to get to my vehicle. There was a woman that was there as a walk in that had been there around 15 minutes and they offered her a free oil change if she came back another time. They offered me absolutely nothing after waiting 3 hours and I had an appointment. With this complete lack of customer service and an incompetent staff managing the service department I can't imagine how they can stay in business at all. Like I said earlier do yourself a favor and drive past big o tires next time you need an oil change. There are two or three other options within a mile or so that provide great service . Zero stars for these clowns would be far too many. I actually sent an email to the head office regarding the poor service I received and was not at all surprised when I didn't even receive a reply. I called around 4pm on Thursday to ask about pricing and to schedule an appointment for 4 new tires and rear brakes. They didn't have the tires I needed at their store so Sean had them delivered. I was able to get an appointment the next day at 2pm. Sean called me around 11am the day of my appointment to inform me the tires arrived and I could come in whenever it was convenient. Not only was my wait time exactly what I was quoted, but every staff member was kind and professional. I'll definitely be recommending this Big O Tires. Big O is a big NO for an oil change. I went there today to get an oil change. I called and made an appointment for 3:00. When I made the appointment they made it sound like it wasn't too busy and I could have had my choice of appointment times all afternoon. I got there and was treated very nicely. About 5 minutes later they had my car in the bay and up on a lift. By 3:20 or so, my car was lowered and two guys were looking at it. Then nothing!!! For 30 minutes nobody was near the car and I saw the guys playing with some balloons and goofing off in the bays. Around 4:00 I was finally called over to the write up area and the guy began explaining to me what was needed. I told him I only wanted a new air filter. He said OK and I went back to the not so comfortable waiting area. At about 4:45 I still had no idea what was going on so, being completely frustrated, I asked what the hold up was. He said they were waiting on the air filter to be delivered. I told them forget it. Just put the old one on. Then the write up guy got attitude. I told him how the guys were playing around and I had been waiting. He said they couldn't do anything because they were waiting on the part guy. I tried to explain that they were playing around before I was even told what they had found. He wouldn't listen to me and got extremely upset with me. When I tried to explain to him why I was upset, he wouldn't even listen to me and got extremely rude. He just said they were really busy and blew me off. He went into the bay area and yelled at the guys to get my car out of there to get me out of there. Two hours for a tune-up is ridiculous, especially when I had an appointment. If they were that busy they shouldn't have set the appointment. If they would have been more timely in getting with me to explain their findings and let me know what the hold up was, I would have been fine. Instead I felt like I was ignored then a "complaining customer" when I questioned them about what was happening. I still have another prepaid tune up to use there, but I will cut my losses and go somewhere else that wants my business. Took my truck down to my grandpa who said I was gonna need my ball joint replaced in my front tire. Took it here for quote. Both my grandpas spent their entire lives in the auto industry working on cars and told me I was going to be looking at $400-$700 absolute max to fix it with the labor. Took it here and I was quoted $1200 along with other things they wanted to do/ fix my car. I was super disappointed. Grandpa said I was getting ripped off and to forget it and that he would do it himself. I spent $200 to fix the problem and saved myself $1000. I think the shop is good for things like maintenance and getting tires but anything that needs to be actually fixed/ worked on is going to be really costly. read more

This location is a hot mess! I used a parent store to purchase my tires in FL and came in for service for my lifetime rotation and balance. I was hoping this was a reliable place to fulfill my warranty. At first the kind worker took my info, gathered my keys and then the manager reminded him of 4 sets of tires and a broken machine. Told me to call after 4pm to get a more approximate wait. The worker looked scared and miscommunication was obviously a part of their daily working life. Manager doesn't appear to have any sense of customer service needs or even appearing like he enjoys interacting with them. Came back at 4:45 and they blamed me for not calling (ummm you could have called ME) and said I would have to make an appt for a rotation in 2 days! 2 days! A tire rotation! Hilarious! Terrible. Service has gone down hill. Basically went in to Big o on N. Thornydale in Tucson for my 8 AM appointment was told That I didn't make an Appointment by the mgr. and for all intent I was lying. The employee that has made the appointment didn't say a word. The mgr. Also said he was in a hurry and had like 2min. They pushed my 8 AM to 11:30 then 2:00 PM. What they really pushed was my business and my Family out the door. I went to PEP boys up on Ina. PS. O it was Shawn who said " I didn't make your appointment , he was off and he referring to the other 3rd. employee that had confirmed the actual appointment with me didn't talk to you or make an appointment. That was what actually did it I've been a manager for over 20 years and would never tell a customer what he did. Pulled up to front, walked in and said I needed a tire pressure check, guy said pull around to first bay, a mechanic was waiting and on checking the third tire spotted a nail. He asked if I got the tires there and when I responded "Yes" he said "I'll fix it." I waited a few minutes and he was done. The fellows at this Big O Store are friendly and helpful. I always buy my tires here and have most of my repairs done here when their prices are competitive unless its something MBZ must deal with specifically. However, they never called me back when I recently left an after hours voice mail. Customers need a free shuttle service for longer repairs or a free loaner as MBZ offers, especially since their waiting room is so uncomfortable and the restroom is tacky. They over tightened my wheels by over 2x the manufacturer specs. I weigh 140lb putting all my weight on a 1.5ft breaker bar parallel to the ground and the bar was holding me up. That means they torqued it more than 210ft-lb. The manufacturer wants only 80ft-lb by the shop manual. This is dangerous because if my hub bolts had sheared off my wheels would have fallen off on the freeway. Hub bolts are generally pressed in meaning they can also be pulled out by over torquing. This means taking off the hub for a new one. read more

Went in for a simple tire rotation. We have used Big O for many many years and it has always been great!!! DO NOT USE THIS BRANCH. OK. the technician didn't know how to put the center hub caps back on properly. The first one fell off in the parking lot as we were leaving big o. He also stripped and ruined 2 more. I understand that things happen and people make mistakes. What is not acceptable is how the owner / manager treated the error. First..... we have a large Lexus sedan that we keep in pristine condition. We take care of our car, keep it clean and maintained. The wheels were purchased with the car at the Lexus dealership. After the damage was recognized we talked to the manager and he just wanted to get rid of us. He had an employee make calls to find center caps but was unwilling to pay what they are worth to replace. He takes no accountability and responsibility for his shops actions. IF THEY BREAK IT ....SHOULD THEY NOT FIX IT??? We ended up fixing it ourselves with no help from this branch.
