Awful awful awful. Never thought it would happen to me . I've heard of this kind of stuff happening but..... I always go to this big old tires on gantzel and ocotillo for years. I leave my truck there to fix a leak and bring smell. They tell me the next day that it needs $1090 worth of work. Has three leaks and needs a flush. So I say ok. They say it will take three days so I again say fine . 10 days later!!!! Mike the manager says it runs rough I say well it's fine it's an old car.. should last me a couple more years. He quotes me for a new engine and says timing belt is bad. I say I hadn't noticed that. I pick up my car and I can barley drive it. The motor is shaking and it barely moves gears. That is not how my truck was driving at all. My husbnad calls and mike the manager argues that we brought it in like that. That's Matt the guy that I left it with said so.. WTH! A big lie! I take it back very upset bring my husband with me. I am of course upset and accuse them of F#%$&ing up my truck. 4hours later they calm me to come get my truck. They won't speak to me and say all that they can say Is that my truck is FIXED. Sure enough whatever they had done to it the truck is working as before but one less leak. They were hush hush and wouldn't tell me what happened to my truck or what was done. I sure as helll got stuck paying 1090. Plus I did call CORPORATE And NO CALL BACK! So I brought my car in 3 weeks ago for just an oil change. They convinced me that I needed some other work done and so I told them to fix what was not working. They put new breaks on the car as part of the "work that needed to be done". Well, after only 2 days my breaks were squeaking so bad. I called and they said to give it another week as they were probably breaking in. Three weeks later and they still squeak and so I am back. Waiting for an hour now and my car is still sitting out in the parking lot. Probably never coming back here again. Cheap labor equals cheap results. All I got to say is that I will not be paying for them to fix my breaks. Problem should have been corrected the first time. read more

Holy best service I've ever had anywhere I don't know much about tires but Mike and Myles took their time with explaining what was going on with my tires I was driving very dangerously and they put my car up walked me over and showed me and explained what was going on. I have been taking vehicles here for several years, and they have done right by me. I had a lot of much needed work done on my truck and had the Big O warranty, then I moved to California and the truck started acting up again. The Big O out there insisted that I needed a lot of work besides what was done. I brought the truck back to this location and they replaced one small sensor at no charge and very quickly. I took my car for Brakes. John the manager Took the order and gave john my Coupons. They rotated the tires and Balance the wheels. John said he included them in the final bill. More costly than i expected, I told John i wanted the very best brake you can get and he said ok.I don't think they road tested it. Car sat until Sunday and I got on the Freeway doing 65 to 70 miles and hour and my car just wobbled. Big O was open on Sunday an they worked on the Balancing It was better but still could feel a little shaking. John said it was because i had 2 new tires and 2 about 2 or3 years old.So now the brakes John told me it was being broken in and would be alright. the loud noise was there each time you applied the brakes. So i stopped there today Asked Tyler to have someone ride with me to show him what i was talking about. Steven replaced my brake pads works great. I asked Tyler if they put on the same pads and he said no I upgraded them and i ask how he could upgrade when i had the best pads. Tyler said the bill said they were the BASE pad. Zero stars. Do not go here. Pretty much making it my personal mission to tell EVERYONE I know to never go here. My 70 year old mother was totally taken advantage of to the tune of $1800. We recently had work done on her car elsewhere and according to the new mechanic he saw no evidence that the work they charged her for was ever done. When we called to confront them, the manager was defensive and unhelpful. Because of his unprofessional reaction and lack of willingness to do anything to help us feel positive about the situation, I have no other resort but to let everyone I know what kind of dishonest place this is. My elderly mother was out the $1800 plus $4000 in new repairs from the damage done by them by not doing what they said they did. Do not send your daughter, mother, friend or loved one here. I remember when Big O used to be reputable and known for being honest. Definitely no longer the case at this location at least. read more

We have been coming to this Big O tires for years. We have spent thousands and thousands of dollars getting many of our vehicles fixed, and in the past, we have greatly appreciated their great service. However, in the past couple years their customer service has greatly declined. They are now the typical auto shop that will find things that are "wrong" with your vehicle just so they can milk some more money out of you by scaring you. We have had alignment deals with them that have somehow magically been erased from the system, though the evidence if the work is still there. All we get when we go in is a hassle from anyone at the desk about how they have such great customer service even when I as the customer is upset with something. In a quite condescending manner they remind me how they have given us as a longtime repeat customer so many deals, but then tell us we will not receive anymore "bad customer service" from them, (apparently to them, giving their customers good deals on service is considered bad customer service.) Needless to say we are so done with this auto shop. There are plenty of shops out there that aren't a big corporate company, who feel the need to treat their customers well. read more

As a high volume service contractor I understand how customer expectations can sometimes be too high and there understanding of mechanical systems and proper (not quick and shoddy repairs that have to repaired at higher rates to undo and re-repair correctly) can be hard to over come. I also understand that sometimes only negative customers leave reviews and happy customers are to busy to review. That being said I am impressed with the high volume of repairs at this location. I was very happy with the communication provided by the staff and manager. The repair was completed in a realistic and timely manner and the equipment they have to provide the service is outstanding. I mentioned I do most of the work on my diesel myself and they understood and offered not to inspect the rest of the system. No up selling unless you ask for it. If your not mechanical let them do a check to make sure your safe could save your life. ***In summary they offered very competitive pricing even though they use more advanced tools and the service is out standing. I felt like they really cared. Hats off. I've been here twice and will be back again. Great job guys read more

Nothing but Great experiences! Rudy and Tyler always go above and beyond! Steven the mechanic is always honest about the work that needs to be done and finishes the job fast. Recently had ignition coil and spark plugs replaced with a fuel system flush and was in and out in 90min without an appointment. Oil changes only take an hour tops when I needed it done... Noting another good experience last month in October I had took my vehicle to the Big O on Germann to have my brakes inspected as they were making noise and the manager Greg there told me I need routers front and back and pads all around due to cracking making it a $970.00 job, I wanted to negotiate pricing but Greg said there was nothing that can be done to lower it. He advise me to call customer service to request a increase in credit on my Big O Card, I hung up on him called to this location spoke with Tyler first explained my brake situation and told him I was quoted "$970.00" and Tyler had no knowledge I was at the location on Germann and I also informed him I had available $695.00 on my Big O Card and he and Rudy said they would do the job for $694.85. I took my vehicle into their location and after the brake inspection both told me the job did not need to be done and that all I needed was a brake flush and to clean the pads of debris. NEVER TRUST THIS PLACE. When I went in there last December for an oil change I ended up with their special to replace all 4 tires. I did need to replace my tires. Part of the deal on the selling of the tires to me was I was to receive 2 free oil changes. Upon scheduling my first "free" oil change this past Saturday you can guess what happened. There was never any documentation in their system regarding the free oil changes. The man at the counter asked "So what do you expect me to do about it?" I simply asked him to honor their word. He told me there was nothing he could do and he couldn't "just give me a free oil change". I HATE being LIED to in order to give them my business. There is a reason this place has 2-3 stars. It depends on where you go. If you go to their website they have 5 stars. Because they only put the 5 star reviews up. They did not put mine up. My experience cost me $397 for a nail in 1 tire. My father who is 86 took my car in as I was taking my husband to the airport and we switched cars. I was running late for work also. They took advantage of my dad and when I showed up, me. They said I needed this and that until it added up to $1000. They told me I needed new tires and filters and much more. Scared that I needed tires we bought 2 tires out of the 3 choices they gave us. I also bought some filters. When my husband landed later that day he called and I told him about everything and he was so mad. He said they ripped you off! I did not need those tires replaced! When I called the manager 2 days after (they didn't answer their phones all day the first day) Jason was a butthead. He was condescending, rude, sarcastic, talked over me and was very unprofessional. Its all about how much they can take you for. As an old man and a woman we were perfect prey. Do not waste your time and money at a place that does this. I realize that they are taught to make sales but to insist that you need things you do not is just wrong. Its sad that this Big O does this. Taking advantage of old people and women is terrible. They rip you off "because they have to make a profit". My mother took her car in because it was over heating. They told her she needed a new radiator at a cost of $700. She agreed to have them install a new radiator and a radiator hose. She left the car with them and the radiator was to be Installed the following day. It's 5 pm the next day so we called to see if the car was ready. They explained to us that they had to order another radiator because the first one was dropped; so we said we'd just pick the car up the following day. Meanwhile my husband called them and asked them "are you really going to charge her $700 to install a new radiator?" And their response was "we have to make a profit some way!" They obviously don't care about their customers; they only care about making a profit. They will overcharge you and try to convince you that they're giving you a great deal. They need to change the name of this place to Big O Morons. I seriously think the job application to work here has 3 questions: 1. Are you breathing? 2. Can you talk? 3. Can you spell your name? If so, you're hired. The guys that work here look like they were just released from prison or were cleaning out the dumpster behind a KFC. I bring my truck here to get an oil change and replace my tires, of course they try to upsell me on a bunch of crap I don't need like air filter, brakes are squeaky etc. They finally finish the job 4 hours later, I get in my truck. drive a few miles, and the tire pressure is low which is indicating on the dashboard. I get home and the PSI is off by 15 psi in all 4 tires! You work at a tire shop and cant even properly inflate tires? Thats like working at the KFC you used to work at and didn't know how to turn on the fryer. Then I get home to check to see if the oil was changed by these convicts, sure enough, the oil is still black. I've always got oil changes and repairs through big O but never bought tires there until a few days ago, let me tell you they will do EVERYTHING they can to take as much money as they can. The guy Matt helped me get some tires but then took it upon himself to make the rest of the order (financing, alignment, even my old tires) into his own hands. Chose the most expensive alignment package, tried to take my old tires, and proceeded to SIGN MY NAME FOR ME ON A FINANCING AGREEMENT!!!! After giving me wrong info on it as well! I didn't find any of this out until I talked to the financial company the next day. Stay away from this place because all they will do is screw you. read more

I have come here often becasue it is near my home. I've come here for oil and lube jobs, flat tires, transmission flushes, and most recently to get a bulb in my headlight replaced. I have ALWAYS received good service here!! The prices are really reasonable too, and I never pnce have felt like I was getting "sold". What I mean is, I feel like they are telling me the truth and not trying to sell me services I don't need. Everyone I have interacted with has been professional, knowledgeable, and helpful. Way to go Big O, you lost a loyal customer. Turns out that unless the manager Tucker is in the building you get crap service. After leaving a rave review several months back I have to follow it up with an update on terrible service. After my last review I went back and had a substantial amount of preventative maintenance done on my 2013. No major issues at that time. Fast forward to today, came in for a simple tire rotation and oil change before the holiday weekend. I expected a bit of a wait but figured no worries since I had coupon for a free oil change. After dropping $2000 I was excited for a free oil change. So I get there at 1215 and I'm told about 2 hours for an oil change. Cool no worries I need lunch anyhow. I get back at 2 and car still hasn't moved. Ok still no worries I'll just play on my phone. An hour later it's 3p and car still hasn't moved. So I asked the short overweight guy with super greased back hair if he knows how long I can expect. He asks "for the altima" I said yes and he said he would go check. Out the door he walks. He walks back in 5 minutes later right passed me and not a word. Then back out he goes and stays out for 15 more minutes. At this point it's now been over 3 hours so I asked for my keys. Slick hair guy doesn't say a word walks off gets my key and hands it to me. No explication. No apology. No nothing. He couldn't have cared less. Saving 40 bucks on an oil change is not worth 3 hours of my time. So I pulled out of their parking lot and into jiffy lube who share a drive with them. 20 minutes later I was done and back on the road. Extremely let down that a company I spoke so highly about could fall so far so fast. Note to Tucker.... your employees and their attitudes are a direct reflection of your company. They reflect a company who does not care about its customers or their time. Simple communication goes a long way. Also slick hair guy spent what seemed like 20 minutes sitting in the lobby on his phone on a personal call before I asked how long. Seems to me that if jiffy lube can do an oil change in 20 minutes than slick hair guy should have been able to as well. read more

Do not go here!! I made an apt for an oil change 4 days prior. I was 20 minutes early and explained I was on my way out of town and how long would it be. He said it takes a full hour to complete an oil change. Ok whatever... I waited 1hr 20 minutes and was called up and told they could not change the oil. I said you are just now figuring this out you new i was leaving town. Was told my car was not to be driven until these $575 of procedures were done, that it had no oil in it. Sent me into a panic as i had allready used up a lot of time and was then told my car was undrivable, if i drove it i would surely blow up the engine. I drove across town to my usual mechanic and told him what they had said and made me sign a paper that i should not be driving my car and was aware. They told me it was not even a full quart short on oil ,he toped it off and said have a safe trip!!. OMG i was so upset. Then the next day as I was thinking about this i remembered that had happened to me a couple years ago when I went to the BIG O with a couple for an oil change. I called to see how long it would take to get a basic oil change. They said "oh about an hour if you come right now". I drove over there in less than fifteen minutes. TWO AND A HALF HOURS LATER I finally get my car back. So annoying, if it was going to be that long I could have just been dropped off the car and come back to pick it up later... But I will say, for a long wait the lobby is pretty nice. They have lots of different magazines to chose from, a TV, coffee, waters, and even free popcorn. So all in all it would have been a great experience had I known to bring a tent with my own sleeping bag. read more

Not surprised to see bad reviews. People generally only leave one when they are pissed off! I came out of work after an 11 hour day to have a nearly flat tire. Brought it in to Big O at 530pm and the place was swamped but I was acknowledged and helped right away. Yes I had to wait a little but this is a busy business and I was a walk in. Myles treated me very well and watching him interact with other customers and workers was refreshing. He was so polite to every single person and was literally running around to try to keep everyone happy and taken care of. He gave me best and worst case scenarios up front, and never tried to push anything else on me. He just made sure my tire was fixed and I left happy. I will definitely return and Myles needs to be commended for his exceptional customer service and his work ethic. Definitely an asset to this store and I will return. read more

Even though I was a return customer, I waited for FOUR HOURS just for an alignment. I only came in for two new tires and had to then wait for another hour. So I waited five hours when I had been promised it would take only two. The next day, the new tire was flat. I called Big O and they told me to call the number on the back of the receipt. 1 1/2 hours later, after waiting in the heat, a tow truck came and had to put air in the donut tire. Big O tire told me it had been done the day before. I drove to the store, and asked for a new tire, was refused by the manager, Matt. After checking it, they only replaced the faulty valve stem. To add more irritation, they had not replaced the donut in the correct wheel well. I was expected to do that myself. I feel the management at this facility is rude and very unprofessional. I am a 77-year-old woman living on a fixed income. This was an incredibly stressful experience for me over a two day time period. I also have health issues. If your going here for a tire balance think again..... First the so called mechanic cant read tire sizes.. He and the manager on duty insisted that I had one tire bigger than all the rest..I took their word for it and they continued the balance and suggested I get my Bigger tire replaced... ..I also noticed that they didnt even bother to check my tire pressure because when I took my car in for the balance my tire pressure sensor was on, so I figured what the heck there going to do a balance on my tires anyway pretty sure they will check the pressure too.. NOPE!! But they had no problem doing the other routine check up stuff so they could try to sell me additional services.. When all was said and done my car was still shaking so I took it back to them to have it redone the following day. They tried to feed me a line that since one of my tires were bigger than all the rest this could cause the shaking... So I went out to the car with the manager on duty and what do you know all my tires are the same size.. (I had a flat awhile back and had one tire replaced so the tire brand was different, but still the same size). The mechanic still insisted it was a bigger tire, but the manager on duty had to walk him out there and show him its just a different brand not size.. Long story short if you want still have faith in Big O Tires i suggest visitng the one Rural and Broadway.. The fixed me up right the first time and no shakes.... read more

Lame...took forever. Was told it could take up to an hour and a half to have two new tires put on, rotated with existing back tires and an oil change done. Almost 2.5 hours later I was done. I understand delays happen but even people I was sitting with in waiting room were complaining & the store wasn't even busy. (Three of us waiting) Every time I went outside to look at my truck being worked on there nobody was even around working on it! I get handed back the keys and I go to get in and it still has all the plastic seat cover, steering wheel cover on it. I guess that's a good thing they used it but I was frustrated so at the time it irritated me because I had to walk to the far back corner of property to throw this stuff away now in the dumpster.There was a guy there from another store named Mike. He was really good guy and helpful as he could be and I think he was getting frustrated too. He never said he was he just looked it. I love the gilbert Big O's. This one and the one off of Warner. I read some very nasty reviews though. But I impose a question to yelp.......................... Why do both those locations have the same complaints with the same customers? Is it a zip code issue? I only ask as I am in customer service. I had a slow leak and come to find out my tire was separating. I had to have a tire replaced. They were very prompt, professional and polite. In my opinion, where Big O is good, they are terrific. Where they are bad, avoid them like the Black Plague. They gave me a free oil change & filter when doing other $500 work for me. The next day the oil in my car drained completely out while on a freeway, ruining my 60,000 mi engine and turbo. They graciously admitted fault, fired two employees, and replaced the engine and turbo which cost them over $7000, plus replaced my clutch since I lost the original $500 repair fee from the previous day. In replacing the engine they reused my 15-yr old engine hoses which then leaked gas - very dangerous. They correctly said I was out of warrantee, so I had to pay $1200 in labor fees to have a Subaru dealer do the correct job. At the same time, a Toyota dealer discovered the same Big O (which had only worked on my Toyota) had previously twisted off a front wheel lug bolt holding on the wheel, by using a too powerful power torque wrench. By not telling me, they put my family in danger. That replacement cost me another $150. They've serviced my three cars for 15 years, but never will again! Some good people at Big O, but also some irresponsible ones. read more

This place is a JOKE! They are probably qualified to check the air in your tires, but I wouldn't give them any more credit than that. My wife was driving my truck and it unexpectedly died on her twice, starting back up after each time and running fine until it died again. I went and picked her up and drove it to the nearest place, which was Big-O, to diagnose it. After a couple hours, they call me and tell me that they tested it with the OBD-II scanner and it had not thrown a code and that they needed to do a more in depth diagnostic that cost $95. I said ok. After having my truck for a day and a half, they call me and tell me that I need a whole new top end (even though no codes were present) and it will cost about $4000. I'm no mechanic, but that didn't sound like the problem to me. So I made arrangements for a tow truck to meet me there and tow it to a different shop for a second opinion. So after I go there and settle up with them for the "work" they had done, I was waiting for the tow truck and the guy that was working on my truck walks up to me and hands me his number and says "If you decide you don't want to fix it, and just want to sell it, give me a call". I thought that was very unprofessional and made me a little skeptical of the practices there. So, after it gets towed to the new shop, they call me within 4 hours and say my top end is perfect and it was my throttle body. If you are going to dishonestly squander money from people, at least have the decency to make sure that what you are doing will at MINIMUM fix the problem. Anyways, truck is back on the road for $650 and the problem is fixed. By someone else. read more
