Normally I love this place. Today, I came in and asked for the special flush and with oil change $99. As well as a coolant flush for $99. More and a $20. air filter that sells for $7.50 at Napa. " 5 " hours later they where still not done, car was parked back in the lot to wait on others first. They also wanted almost $400. More for other work. [I am in no way associated with Sears Auto other than being a customer for life after these events.] Went in for their basic early bird special on May 9th 2017 - $21.70 for an oil change after fees. I had done this before on previous occasions with minimal issues, sure they'll try to upsell you on something else but normally you can just ignore that BS and say just do the oil change. Not this time. The front desk worker who looked annoyed when I asked for an early bird special came out maybe 45 minutes later saying they couldn't do the oil change unless I buy a new oil pan from them. $330! Supposedly the bolt you remove to drain the oil was "stripped" and they "couldn't get it off" Just an aside - This might have been believable had he said cross-threaded. These are two different things. Had it been stripped wouldn't it have been leaking oil? They did not offer to take me into the shop and show me the issue at all. I'm glad too, because I thoroughly believe they would have tried to intentionally strip or cross-thread that bolt to get my money. I didn't believe them at all. Nothing about their demeanor and attitude led me to believe they were trustworthy folks. At the very least I needed a second opinion - I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. Maybe they are just incompetent or kinda dumb. I'll take it somewhere else to see if I get the same results. I took it to Sears, they showed me the bolt, it was in perfect condition, zero flaws. Got my oil changed by honest, reliable, knowledgeable mechanics who won't try to upsell you on some unnecessary BS. (I should have snapped photos of the bolt and the threads, they were in beautiful condition) The guy at Sears even price-matched the oil change and gave me a coupon for next time. It was only $15 more originally anyway. Did not try to upsell me on anything at all. Big O, congratulations, you got zero of my dollars that day which is the same amount you will get in the future. 10-04-2017 Really am troubled. The last visit I stopped in to get a oil change 3-4hrs later I was finished. So this time I scheduled a appointment today for 11 am to hopefully skip the excessive wait. I showed up at 10:45am for a 11am appointment, well 1 hour passed and my vehicle had not been moved. I had to ask them about it then they finally got it into the bay., So after about 15 minutes I see my car on the lift, after being told it was about done. So I was asked to check out, (pay) during so, the employee had to speak over the intercom "No smoking in customers cars or around them" So I paid my invoice for the oil change, the employee made another comment over the intercom, stating I paid and is now ready to go. They really made me feel like they were waiting for my payment to get my car back. Still troubled I checked the paperwork, and the tire pressure was document but not adjusted, didn't receive anything to document when my next oil change is. I am now no sure anything was done to my car, cause they were now in a hurry to get me out of there. They didn't review the invoice to go over work and inspections performed. Just wanted me out of there. Must have been lunch time. Now I have to take my car to Discount Tire to check my tire pressures. One observation there was a customer standing in the bay smoking with 2-3 employees smoking around his car I mentioned it to the employee in the show room and he wasn't concerned even when I mentioned insurance issues if the customer gets hurt. One star only because there is not a choice of zero. I am normally faithful to Discount Tire and have never had a bad experience there. We needed brakes and tires at the same time so unfortunately decided to try Big O. Worst mistake ever, and like others I wish I had read reviews first. Had to have them redone under warranty because of poor work. Sitting in the lobby for hours on end I really got a feel for their business model. They care about money and only money. Constantly trying to upsell and push their credit card on anyone and everyone. When you don't agree to have work done, they try to scare you and make you feel like your car is unsafe to drive. Like other reviews, the only person here with good customer service is Tyler and they are smart to keep him at the front desk. I wouldn't suggest this Big O. I brought in my wife's vehicle for a simple oil change. While I was sitting in the waiting area long after they told me it would be ready, something dawned on me. They give you an unrealistic timeframe to completion knowing it will take much longer. Why? Well, it's simple. They don't want to turn business away. Once they have your keys your more committed to see it through. What it does is destroy your day when your expectation was to wait 1.5 hours for a oil change, and it consumes more than half your day. read more

Over an hour for a simple lyft inspection. My original car was only looked at by a lyft mentor and didn't do anything but do a quick once over. The car is brand new and shouldn't have been an hour. Worst part is it was sitting outside done and the guy who took it in was sitting in an office didn't even bother to check up on the status. I went in November i was getting the oil changed in my girlfriends car there because i had a coupon for an oil change, and we were about to go to California to visit my family. After waiting apx 3 hours in their store, seriously it took them 3 hours to change my oil while i waited in their waiting room... three hours, 11am-2pm... for real, not making that up... i FINALLY get my car back and am anxious to go pick up my girlfriend from work so we can leave, I jump in the car and take off down the road... well, kind of, as i turn out of their parking lot the car makes an uncharacteristic "clunk" I think maybe some luggage in the back fell over, as I began to drive down the road the car is seeming to lurch to the left and right... and the steering wheel feels loose... i think the wheels are falling off, i pull into the gas station and and what do i find out? The LUG NUTS ARE NOT ON!! For reals?!? my tires are not connected to my car! I was pissed to say the least, this could have killed my girlfriend if she had gone on her on and just jumped on the freeway! what do they say when I go back!?! "sorry" they don't refund my oil change, they give me a coupon book for like 6 free oil changes... great, so I just kinda roll with it... everyone makes mistakes right? (ya this one could have killed someone) So, today i went back to use one of my free oil changes... fool me once shame on you, fool me twice: 11:45 i drop my car off to get a SIMPLE oil change, Lord knows I'm not going to wait there for it, so my coworker and I head off to a lunch meeting. I hope that they will be done by the time i finish the meeting. The meeting ends apx 1... no phone call... go back to work and am slammed the rest of the day then at 5:30 i get a phone call from someone there asking if i plan on picking up my car that day? Yes it's my only car... they inform me i have 20 minuets to get there and pick up my car... at this point of the day i'm the only person in my office... so i have 20 minuets to walk 2 miles (thank God I didn't work farther away), the guy who called me didn't seem to be to concerned for me, he was going home at 6... STAY AWAY FROM THIS STORE! Poorest customer service I have ever received! I have been a loyal Big-O customer for over 35 years, both in Idaho and in Arizona and have used this store for over 5 years. We have also sent plenty of family & friends during that time. Not anymore! I am sick and tired of being on the receiving end of poor customer service and a never ending ploy of trying to get me to buy goods or services on the spot, some of which are totally unneeded. The first time could be passed off as a lack of over site when they forgot to put the air cleaner assembly back together on my car and sent me on my merry way. I didn't notice it until 2 days later when I just happened to open the hood for something else (thank goodness it was only 2 days worth of driving with no air filter). The second time was them trying to sell fluid flushing/replacements for the fluids in our truck which had already been done 2 weeks earlier at the dealership. Also during this visit (we were buying some of the most expensive truck tires they sell), they lost one of the bolts to a center cap, causing the cap to thrash around the wheel a day later. So, had to take time off to go back and ask them to install the bolt, only to be told it was lost and that we were on our own to find one. More lost time and expense out of our pocket for a problem they caused, but I even forgave them on that one. Yesterday afternoon was the 3rd and final straw. I noticed one of my car tires had developed a slow leak yesterday, so I headed to their store after work for a repair. After waiting for over an hour just for them to get the car in the garage, I was informed they would not repair the tire, due to an inside wear bar barely and I mean microscopically visible. Keep in mind, I bought these tires from this store with a full 50,000 mile warranty+++. They only have 30,000 miles on them and still over 5/32 of tread. No biggie, right? but then he starts playing the blame game telling me that not rotating them every 5,000 miles and not paying them for an alignment on every rotation as the cause. Not true. I'm the only one that drives the car and they are all freeway miles, believe me, I would have it aligned if I ever even had an inkling that it needed one, it doesn't. Now, here is where you separate good customer service from idiocy. The salesman (Jay) COULD have said... "your tire is showing signs of wear and will need replaced. I realize it is 5:30 in the afternoon and we don't have time to replace anything tonite, so I will repair it for you so you can get home safely, but you need to replace it ASAP". Instead he refused the repair and sent me away with a half flat tire. Like I said, worst customer service ever! I will not be giving this store one more dime of my business and since the owner has other stores in the area and refuses to talk to his customers, I am thinking I am through with Big O altogether! I will also be telling all of my family and friends, as well as anyone else who asks or will listen, the same thing. SAVE TIME AND MONEY....DON'T GO HERE! Wasted my time and money! I first called in to see how much an oil change was and a full tire rotation. They told me it was $16 for a basic oil change and free for a tire rotation. They told me synthetic would be more but I told them I didn't need synthetic. I also asked how busy they were and they said "Come down right now. We are not busy at all." I send my husband down there right away with my car and they tell him I need a synthetic oil change- $38 (which is not true- my car can take basic oil). They then say it is $3 for a tire rotation. Okay, I realize that's not much but they told me it would be free!! They also knocked on $10 for "labor" which most other places include that in their oil change charge. They also said we needed a new tire or at least to get it patched. My husband said no thats fine. After they come back and we get our bill they patched the tire for an extra $20 even though we said NO! My husband ended up being there for over 2 hours even though they said they weren't busy at all. I'm not sure why it took so long! Needless to say we feel it as a waste of time and money! read more

I have lost ALL my trust and respect for this location. This is what happened. I needed an oil change and tire rotation. I didn't want any other services done and I didn't want them to "up-sell" me. I told them what I needed and that was that. Before they took my car back I walked outside and took pictures of all four tires so I could check and see if they rotated them after everything was finished. Well they called me and said,"Come pick your car up its all good." So I immediately checked the tires before I left and guess what...the tires were not rotated. I walked back in and asked why they weren't rotated and the gentleman behind the counter said with a puzzled look,"What do you mean?" He then asked the guy who worked on my car why he didn't do it but he said nothing. The gentleman then said after looking at my paperwork,"It's because your front tires are wore more than your back, so we like to keep more tread on the back ones." This is what made me upset. So I then said,"Those four tires were brand new when I had them put on. They have never been rotated. My car is front wheel drive and that's why they are wore more then the rear. That's why I want them rotated. You said you rotated them but you didn't. That's not honest business." He then said,"I never said I was going to rotate them." "Are you kidding me?" I said. "Look at the paper. It tells you what you said you did!" So then he said,"Ok." And then stormed off. I am not trying to sound arrogant or entitled when I say that the gentleman who who was dealing with my issue was unprofessional and straight up lied to me, and wouldn't admit fault when I showed him the evidence. He just threw his hands up, turned his back to me and stormed while I was talking to him. He also tired to tell me that I shouldn't be upset because rotating tires is a free service. Wow!! Really??? And what about my tires that are wearing out faster in the front??? When those need to be replaced are they free too??? If you say you are going to do something...do it. And if you don't do it...say you didn't do it. I can imagine what other shady dishonest things these guys are doing to your car??? Especially for things you can't check to see if they did. Just now i was next door at Wildflower Cafe having breakfast. i called Big O which is 40 yards away and asked if i needed an appointment for an oil change. "No, we are doing first come first serve and we will get you out in 59 minutes or less" perfect. so...i got in my truck and drove the 40,yards to Big O, In less than a minute I was at the counter and asked for a basic oil change. "Its going to be a couple of hours...is that ok?..." when i explained i had literally just called and was told 59 minutes or less i was asked to hold on while he "double checked" sure enough.."couple hours at least" Nope how hard is it guys? just tell me the truth or make me an appointment. read more

My experience here was so horrible it can't even be imagined. THEY WRECKED MY CAR AND CREATED PROBLEMS. THEY DESERVE -15 STARS. It all started at the Big O on 705 S Lindsay. I took my car there to replace a thermostat. They ended up charging my mother over $1500 for a new a/c compressor. The new compressor worked worse than the original. I went in, knowing about cars, and asked the manager Steve for a diagnostic report. He responded with, "you can't do diagnosis on a a/c compressor" when I replied that you can, that you can check the pressures on both lines. He responded with, "oh yea, we did that". When I asked him to see it the report he smiled and said it would take "a couple of hours to find it". At this point I was fed up and called the General Manager. He told me to take the car to this Big O on Baseline that supposedly had a a/c guy that knew what he was doing. After a week of having my car I call them to see what is going on.....They said that there had been an accident and my car had been damaged. I was outraged and demanded to know where they took my vehicle to inspect it. This was on a Wednesday. That day I drove out to Glendale where I saw my car with the front bumper ripped off. I asked the repair shop when this happened and they said that they were contact the other day.... I ended up talking with the general manager again and he could never even give me a explanation of what had happened. I truly believe that if I wasn't constantly checking on my car they would have never said anything and would of never told me about the incedent. Anyways after the car was fixed from them ripping off the front bumper they still hadn't fixed the a/c issue that Steve at 705 S Lindsay Big O had created. The general manager did refund my money for only the a/c parts that I was originally charged for......but I feel that after what had happened that was very far from making the situation right. So far off that I just wanted to be done with the entire situation. So basically they charged me to break my a/c... Then they wrecked my car.... This is just not right. After this I seriously sold the car. This was so ridiculous that I still cannot believe it and wouldn't spend the time to write this review but I feel obligated to tell people what happened. Worst experience ever, called them and asked for two back tires and they said they couldn't get them for a week and then i called and they said to go in at 3 so i went in and they said they still didn't have the tires so i had to wait there till 530. Then when i got home my tire pressure gauge turned on so i went back and both tire valves had leakes so i went back and they said they fixed it and when i went home the new valves were leaking so needless to say I'm never going back. Do yourself a favor and go to thoroughbred if you have a Chevy I asked them to match the dealers everyday price for oil change,tire rotation,top off fluids,use factory spec viscosity oil,complimentary inspection, so they agreed then as tech was going through inspection I marked the rear tires when he lifted truck and then I was talking to other techs and he pulled my k&n filter he tells tech hey what so I do with this k&n so do I showed it to the mother f@&$@er who owns the truck or what I then stated this motherfucker just cleaned it and its new he had no clue I was owner so by surprise he was like ya it looks new and went back to oil change then he lowered truck and I went back in office and asked when they were gonna rotate tires then the office bitch tells me he already did I said really because I marked the back tired and there still on the back so tech walks in and hands report to him and he says ooooh that's why the better tires are already in front that's when our relationship went wrong I stated I wanted them rotated because there almost 5 months old and haven't been rotated so tech takes truck and rotates and when he returns he hands me a broken plastic lug for rim center cap I said when can you have a new one long story short tried telling me there not responsible for items breaking when they do oil changes. I picked this outlet to get an oil change for no reason other than it was the cheapest when I called around. I mean, how often does one screw up an oil change right? I've been very pleasantly surprised. I was expecting a hack job followed by a pressure sales pitch to have my alternator rotated and my electrical harness stretched. The place is clean, right next to a bunch of restaurants and shopping, gave me a good time estimate, and stuck to it. They did have a few recommendations but all were reasonable. Nothing fancy, but do you really want cappuccino in the office? They did a good job, were cheap, and didn't waste my time. I brought my next car the next week and had the same experience. I took my car in for a tire repair. It was a full day process with me dropping off at 9 ( at their request) and pick up at 3. Next day I had a flat tire. So I took it to be looked at. Patch never happened. If it did, they missed a nail in my tire. On top of the nail they filled my tires 10 pounds higher than recommended. I'm extremely lucky that i checked everything when I did. I called and they told me they patched my tire but that there were hundreds of reasons it was flat...... um no. Save your time and go elsewhere. read more

I use to go to this shop because Michael and the guys were so friendly and professional. I ordered 4 new tires on their buy 2 get 2 free sale and made an appointment on the Saturday I went in to order my tires and oil change, for 1pm the following Saturday. I got there at 12:30pm and did not leave until 5:00pm!!! You can buy a NEW car in less time! Michael is no longer there and I did not recognize anyone. George was rude and not helpful and I found out that another customer and I were there so long because they didn't have our tires!! What was worse they didn't have the courtesy to tell me!!!! On Sunday, while in Queen Creek on business, my check Engine light came on. Took my car to an Auto Zone that was nearby to run the car for the "code". The ONLY code that came up was P0128 (Coolant thermostat temperature below regulating temperature). Was told this is nothing too serious but needs to be fixed. So, I went about my business and went back to Mesa (25 miles away). We checked the coolant level AFTER the car cooled off and it was at normal level. The car HAS NEVER overheated. I called this location on Monday to set up a time to bring the car in to fix the problem that I ALREADY knew about. Gil set an appointment for Tuesday at 3PM. I drove the car to the Big O which was less than 3 miles from my home. I checked the coolant level before I left and it was at normal. Got to the location manager (Jason I think). Once I told him the whole story, I got an eye roll and was told "well, those codes are SUPER complicated for people who don't work in the industry." I was put off by the assumption but, I let it go. I asked how long the diagnostic would take, I was told, "It could take 5 minutes it could take 5 hours." I asked "5 hours to DIAGNOSE a problem I already KNOW about?" I was told "Well, these codes are really tricky and there may be more wrong than JUST the thermostat. You know, since it is overheating and all". I reminded him that the car HAD NOT overheated AT ALL. He then said "if it is just the thermostat, I'll take off the Diag Fee" and asked me to wait. After about 45 minutes waiting, I was told that I was getting a ride home because "we are SOOO busy and we don't want you to have to just sit and wait". Um SOOO busy was TWO cars (neither of which were mine) in the 4 bays and techs just sitting around???I I FINALLY heard from them at noon on Wednesday. I was told, there were "ALOT of MAJOR things wrong with your car." Well, apparently the overheating that never happened caused my transmission to fail and needed to be fixed. I asked if the only code received was for a thermostat, how did the transmission get affected? After being called "Dear" EVERY TIME HE SPOKE, he said it would cost $990 to replace JUST the radiator and thermostat!! After l asked him to STOP calling me "Dear" he then said he wasn't sure how much more it would be. I told him I would just take it to the Dealer. He then said that I will pay SUBSTANTIALLY more and it would take "WEEKS".I was then told that I had overheated the car MULTIPLE times to bone dry, cracked the radiator, and they had to put in THREE GALLONS of coolant (the car only hold 3.5 GALLONS total) in order to diagnose it. They were saying they need to "fix things" on my car that weren't even BROKEN!!I told him to just have my car ready to pick up so I can take it to the Dealership and have it PROPERLY fixed. DO NOT GO TO THIS LOCATION FOR ANY WORK!!! They will assume you are too ignorant to KNOW what needs to be done and too "desperate" to go elsewhere. The Dealership is charging me LESS than Big O for more work, with GENUINE brand parts, 2 year full warranty, and more respect than I've gotten from this location. read more

This is a horrible store, but like an albatross i am tied to it for this last appointment under warranty. Last year i ordered 4 of the Big O tires. 1000 bucks okay. I come to pick up my truck and they "didnt have those in stock" and they put discoverer tires on, telling me i have the warranty, not even calling me to ask if thats what i want. $50 visa card was supposed to be part of the deal, all something George the manager was supposed to take care of. After 3 trips back to the store, each time being assured someone will get this processed, the time frame lapsed so i got screwed out of that. Didnt get the tires i wanted, didnt get the rebate they promised. Set up an appointment at 4 pm to get my alignment and they didnt get my truck in a bay until 430. Each time i have come in,no one ever wanted to make anything right, they just wanted to pass the buck, saying they fired George but they would take care of it, and they never did.. I came in late last night with my hungry and tired kids and our small dog to fix a flat tire that we couldn't drive a minute more on. Aaron was so helpful. He offered the kids food, let us bring the dog in from the rain to sit with us, and made sure we were comfortable. They weren't able to save the tire, but put the spare on for us for nothing just to "Make sure we got home safely". I have never had better service! We were blessed that Big O' was open. Awful awful awful. Never thought it would happen to me . I've heard of this kind of stuff happening but..... I always go to this big old tires on gantzel and ocotillo for years. I leave my truck there to fix a leak and bring smell. They tell me the next day that it needs $1090 worth of work. Has three leaks and needs a flush. So I say ok. They say it will take three days so I again say fine . 10 days later!!!! Mike the manager says it runs rough I say well it's fine it's an old car.. should last me a couple more years. He quotes me for a new engine and says timing belt is bad. I say I hadn't noticed that. I pick up my car and I can barley drive it. The motor is shaking and it barely moves gears. That is not how my truck was driving at all. My husbnad calls and mike the manager argues that we brought it in like that. That's Matt the guy that I left it with said so.. WTH! A big lie! I take it back very upset bring my husband with me. I am of course upset and accuse them of F#%$&ing up my truck. 4hours later they calm me to come get my truck. They won't speak to me and say all that they can say Is that my truck is FIXED. Sure enough whatever they had done to it the truck is working as before but one less leak. They were hush hush and wouldn't tell me what happened to my truck or what was done. I sure as helll got stuck paying 1090. Plus I did call CORPORATE And NO CALL BACK! Try zero stars. And if you think if you are lucky and getting good service, they are pulling the wool over your eyes like they did mine for years... I have been a loyal customer for years, and literally have spent thousands of dollars here. I would always give them the chance to price match (they always come in higher but will match). Today was the last straw, and I will never go back. I needed 4 tires. They of course made me price match (instead of giving me their best offer up front) and I chose them over Discount tire today since the shop is closer to home and I needed them to be quick. They quoted me 30-45 minutes. An hour and a half later, truck still not ready. They told me a few more minutes. After almost 2 hours they admitted they did NOT have the tires in stock but the driver should be there any minute. Well of course I lost my temper and raised my voice. The manager than had the gall to tell me to be professional......I think professionalism went out the window when they didn't tell me up front that the tires weren't in stock. The manager said "I want to see how I can help you" I asked for a discount to which he responded "I can give you free oil changes" I don't need oil changes, I need my hour and a half back. At least you can give me 50 bucks off. He told me he can't give me ANY discount, saying he is a "business man" and can't afford that. To which I responded "you would rather lose my business forever than give me $50 off?" That makes good financial and business sense.... Took my truck over to Discount Tire on Greenfield and Baseline, I can honestly say DT took my stress away. I wish I could rate Big O lower.... .I will never ever ever go back to Big O, after years of loyal patronage. In fact I have VIP cards for 12 free oil changes that I have purchased and will never use now. They come with great discounts. I have two that I bought for $90 a piece. Holy best service I've ever had anywhere I don't know much about tires but Mike and Myles took their time with explaining what was going on with my tires I was driving very dangerously and they put my car up walked me over and showed me and explained what was going on. They then set me up to get approved to be financed for a new set of tires. I will always come back TK these guys just because of their honesty!!! Thanks again! read more

Today I took my wife's truck to get my Big o a/t tires rotated and ballanced. I was greeted by a very nice gentleman. Not sure his name (he had tattoos on his arms). He told me that it was going to be 1 hour wait. I said no problem. I was planning on going next door to IHOP with my wife and nephew. Then a gentleman came out of the office and said it was going to be two hours.. it's going to be a long long wait he said. With all that being said. My wife did not like his attitude. I took my keys and went down the road to discount tires. (Even though i have free ballance on my big o tires) It just so happens that my tires are no good. And I am waiting for a new set of tires to be installed on my wife's truck. (1200.00 set of BF GOODRICH ko2) . It's sad that one persons actions can lose my buisness. I have no problem spending money on a service. This big o lost my buisness today. read more
