Had my tire serviced at Big O on west 86th Street and spoke to Evan prior to my arrival. He assured me he would be looking out for my car to arrive and would access my situation once on there. Sure enough my situation wasn't as bad as thought. A loose valve stem which was an easy fix. The three other stems checked and were just hand tight and their technician tightened them up, checked tire pressure and I was on my way. Visited on 12/19 (not my first visit there) and will absolutely not be back. The new manager was rude, tried to sell my services I did not need (I am a woman, so unfortunately that is expected), and loudly badmouthed his employees in the waiting room to, whom I assumed, was another customer. He then decided for some reason to not charge me for my oil change but also didn't give me any paperwork for my records. I found out when I went back on 12/23 for a copy of the paperwork that he hadn't put anything in the system, so there was no record of the oil change. Did they actually change my oil? I'm not sure! Pls save your money. I took my car here to get my brakes changed & when I came back for it , I instantly felt something off with my tire. I brought it back the next day & they reassured me that I just need to drive it a few days for everything to settle in. Well, not even a full 2 days later my tire broke off on the freeway. They reassured me again that they'll fix it & replace it with the same tire I had since I bought it from there previously & got them insured. It's been well over 6 months & I haven't heard from them in months after they gave me the run around for months. Absolutely positively a disaster. I have a 2021 Mercedes. Had a screw in the tire. Took it in. Told them to just replace all 4. I get home and front right is flat. I go back. Then they tell me there is a hairline crack in the wheel but they can fix it. 2 days later and $325 more I pick it up.....get home, flat again. Take it back, didn't put the valve stem in correct. Take it home, 3 days later, flat again. I call corporate and complain. Few days later I get a call offering a repair refund or for ME to buy a new wheel. Several days and no solution. I buy my own wheel. Take it back to another store and they mounted a new tire on my new rim. Driving fine and holding air. I go on vacation and just got home to an alert in my dash " wheel sensor missing" . I've spent a lot of money over the years with Big O and have more cars that will need very expensive tires soon. Great service, fast and friendly. I went in for a tire change on Thursday and an alignment check on Friday and never waited more than 20 minutes. Edited review: After my tire change, I figured I should go in for an alignment. I had not noticed any issues with my 2018 VW Tiguan, with 69,000 miles. I got an alignment check on Friday (12/1). I got my results, my front tires needed an alignment, but easily doable, no other issues and it would be a quick fix. I scheduled an alignment appointment for Monday (12/4). I arrived and they told me the technician had called out that day and they were unable to do it (could have given a heads up, I live 15 miles away and my appt was at 11 am). Rescheduled appointment for Thursday (12/8). I arrived at 8:20 am. At around 9:30 am, they came out and said they had bad news. They did not do the alignment; before my car was up the technician noticed my control arms were bad and any alignment they would do would be a waste of money and immediately regress when I left the shop. They also stated the right camber on my alignment was bent out of shape and they could not fix it without extra equipment. So I needed to spend the $3200 ($~1200 for each control arm + urgent brakes + labor) they quoted me so my tires could be aligned, not including fixing the camber. My friend was flying in that night for a road trip to Florida in my car the next day, we were cancelling the flight and trip. They said the extra damage and why they couldn't see it before was caused just in the last few days - and due to Indiana potholes. I have been in Indiana for one month out of the past six months, in states with well maintained roads. Even so, if that were the case, it would be on them for not completing the alignment when my appointment had been originally scheduled. Any wear after that point, due to their cancellation and not warning of the extremity or dangers of driving on the tires, would be on them for liability reasons. I decided to get a second opinion and went to Big O Tires in Brownsburg, who have proven trustworthy service. They saw me immediately. They were blown away by the quotes that I was given, as I had showed them the itemized receipt. Control arms should cost $250-$500. Another third party mechanic told me the total cost should have been $1300 including labor. Brownsburg Big O Tires took my car and behold: there was NO issue. My car is in perfect condition. Nothing wrong with my control arms. Nothing wrong with my alignment. They chose not to do the alignment because it was so minuscule. Not urgent at all. They shook their heads when I mentioned the permanent disfiguration of the camber. Brakes not urgent, probably ~5000 more miles, enough for me to get back home and change them there. Brakes were the only thing they said to keep in mind for the future, but still not pushing me to buy now unnecessarily. I am a single woman in my twenties owning my first car, and 86th Big O saw that. I also travel cross country for work and rely on my car as my lifeline, and I had mentioned that when they changed my tires. They attempted to take advantage of me and my lack of knowledge. Thankfully I have people in my life that are knowledgeable about cars and questioned the situation, otherwise perhaps I would have spent the money. I truly hope others see this review, if only to save their own bank accounts. Get a second opinion. Spend the money when it is necessary, only when it is necessary and recommended by a trusted mechanic. Find a place you trust, like Brownsburg Big O Tires. I bought a full set of slightly overpriced tires (I compared the brand to other shops) but went ahead with the purchase because I was told they would check and if necessary, correct the alignment. When my daughter picked up the car, she was told by the customer service guy that they didn't have time to do the alignment check and she would have to bring the car back. As she drove away she notice the garage was empty and all the workers were just sitting around talking to each other. I learned that this location is an individually owned franchise and known for their poor service. I recommend using another location, if you use Big O. I got there and was greeted by a friendly crew who helped analyze the damage. They gave me the drill bit that they found in the tire. They patched it up and didn't charge me. I paid for service and had to return my car multiple time after break down on highway and having to be towed 2 separate times due to the negligence your shop provide by installing a part that was 3" shorter than the oem twice which wasn't check by their technicians putting mine and my families live at risk. The shop excepted no responsibility and offer a free oil change after complaining and having my car for a week that should have only taken couple hours to complete correctly! I was provided no discount for the lack of terrible service and feel over charged originally due to not being allowed to use my 20% coupon. They lied and misrepresented themselves when requested to speak to GM a visiting manager Larry said he was the GM and there was Nothing he could offer or do besides an oil change because they are backed by parts warranty. Their service, quality of work, communication and customer service sucked. No one ever called me back when they said they would. It was on me daily to call on vehicle status. I even had to just go up there to speak to someone due to no call backs. Took my car in for a standard oil change and tire rotation. After a few weeks, my car started to make a funny noise and I noticed 3 lug nuts missing from 1 tire. This went on to cause damage to other parts of my car. I went back to this Big O hoping they would pay for the damage they caused and they aren't paying for anything. $1000+ worth of damage to my car that's completely their fault, and they're not paying me back for it. I called & scheduled an appointment for an oil change @ the W. 86th St. store in Indianapolis....I had made an appointment at another nearby competitor, when I realized I hadn't called the BigO Tire place, where I went last time for an oil change...When called BigOTire for info, Shannon was very helpful over the phone, so I decided to cancel my original appointment, with that competitor....When I arrived at BigOTire, I interacted with Shannon...I asked him a few dumb questions, & he was very helpful...He explained about what the simple oil change involved, as well as other possible services I could need in the future...He had a great sense of humor, & I had fun asking him questions, & learning from his answers...Then I interacted with Chris, & asked him a few questions...He was great too...He explained a lot of what he was doing, in particular the fact he had to take off a plastic engine cover (beneath the engine), because the oil drain valve I had installed, actually drained the oil onto that plastic engine cover...argh...Then I asked Warren a few questions about tires, & he was extremely helpful, showing me how tires are dated, & how no tires should be used for more than 10 years, something I did not know...All in all, I had a very enjoyable & learning experience, because these 3 employees were willing to briefly educate me, on some of the technical aspects of my simple oil change....I was not accustomed to this level of willing customer service...I was very mindful & respectful of their busy schedules, but even in quick conversations, these guys really changed what can be a boring experience, into a fun chatty one...!!...Thanks guys...I will be back..!! read more

Do NOT buy your tires from here! I purchased all of my tires from here in 2 different transactions for one vehicle. They will NOT honor their warranty. When I purchased my tires their sales pitch was a 40k warranty. I put 16k on my tires and they are bald. The manager told me that I must have drove the car really hard. That is insulting. This car is only used for driving to and from work. Then he told me that just because it is rated at 40,000 miles doesn't mean it will last that long. (Not what they told me at purchase!!) There are other tires places that sell tires that stand by their warranties and offer much longer warranties. This was the 2nd time they didn't honor their warranty. It happened on a previous vehicle in the same scenario. I unfortunately chose them to handle all the tires on both vehicles at the time. This place is a scam. If you encounter any problems with your tires, you will not have any warranty despite what they promise you at purchase. read more

This Big O is absolutely the worst place you could go for service. I went in for a simple oil change and a careless worker drove my Cadillac into a bay without ample clearance. Tail pipe and muffler got destroyed/knocked off. Incredibly rude manager at the time, Joe, said he could give me a free $30 oil change. I said I was pretty sure that would not fix the tail pipe. Eventually, he reluctantly gave me $99.53, saying that was the most he could do for "customer sat." Well, that did not satisfy me as I had to take my car to Ralph's to get fixed. Luckily, it was only $200 to fix it. So I have been going round and round with Big O corporate and the W. 86th St. 3 months now and they have yet to make up the $100 difference. I have sent pics and the invoice from Ralph's. It seems simple: They damaged my car. They should pay for the repair, not half of it. Stay away from this store no matter what. Any problem you encounter will NOT be resolved. They simply do not care. read more

The team here is phenomenal. Justin is great to work with and he's been there for years, so corporate must be doing something right. I have never been to a chain auto repair / tire shop that was so good. They're honest, fast, low cost, communicative, etc. I'd trust them with any auto repair. I was sitting in the lobby while my car was in for an alignment and the way they interact with customers is so professional and respectful. They are straight forward and honest about pricing and repairs. I maintain all my cars (except tires and alignments of course) so I know when a shop is ripping people off, and most chain shops do, but not this place. They mounted a tire on a $8k Ferrari 599 HGTE wheel for me too, I totally trusted them and they did great. A++++ Highly recommend. read more

I have taken my cars here for years for oil changes, new tires, any tire problems, etc. and have never had a problem but unfortunately after my experience today I will not be going back for anything else. Justin and Derek (old manager) have always been great to me. I had Chris (stated he was the manager so I'm assuming new manager?) this time and had a very bad experience with poor customer service. I requested an appointment for 4 new tires (selected specific Michelin ones) online in the morning and then called right after to make sure the appointment was okay. I spoke with Chris who stated he saw the appointment (meaning he saw which tires I requested) and that it was okay to bring the car in the same day to get it done. I brought my car in a few hours later and first off he could not find my car in their system even though I've been there many times and then the first thing Chris tried to do was sell me Big O branded tires. I said I requested the Michelin ones per my appointment and he said "oh we don't have those in stock." I questioned why he did not tell me that over the phone and he said what was online isn't accurate of what is in stock. I said again that I spoke to him earlier and wondered why he didn't tell me these tires needed to be ordered over the phone to save me a trip in? He continued to try to sell me the Big O brand tires. I almost caved away from the original tires I requested (he still had not tried to order these tires for me) and presented him with a coupon for buy 3 get 1 free big o brand tires (which he didn't acknowledge and said "we can't do that") and I had to force him to read the coupon. He also made comments to his coworker Justin stating "this lady is trying to get a deal" and Justin responded with "she is actually a great customer and has been here a lot without problems." Very rude when all I was trying to do was get the tires I requested and he also proceeded to answer the phone as I was talking to him and made me wait 5 min when I had already been there for 30 min at this point. I bought a young lady tires at a different store (Mooresville). She got a flat the first week and was towed to Big-O in Noblesville (or Fishers can't remember). They wouldn't help her so these amazing guys had it towed to their location. It was a huge mess because of the reason the tire blew. Long story but they went WAY over and above to make it right!!! These people wound never intentionally cheat or mistreat anyone. I'm a customer service snob and even when they are so busy they get overwhelmed, they still outshine the rest!! I had bought tires in late 2013 from this store after putting it off for too long. Since then I have had two oil changes and two tire rotations done and they are always great. But yesterday I had a real issue. I have had problems with all of my tires not holding air well. They seemed to have slow leaks but I just thought perhaps it was the cold of winter. Yesterday I found one tire almost completely flat. Luckily I was able to air it up enough to get to my BIG O TIRE store. It was almost 5PM but the staff worked together to pull all FOUR tires and check each one. As it turned out my chrome rims had started to flake near the tire beads and had to be cleaned up and grinned down to assure a good seal. The process took well over an hour and even though they close at 6PM they stayed and completed my car so I could get home. All of this at NO CHARGE thanks to the Three year warranty I got when I bought the tires. What could have been a horrible and expensive end to my day was saved by the crew at BIG O tire ! Stopped in after hitting a pothole on the way to work. Potholes suck!!! Waited till 7:30am for them to open. Was the second person in the door, with tire in hand. Got a ride to the store so I didn't have to use the spare. Talked with the man at the counter. Found a replacement for the the tire. Cody said he would put it on the line, shouldn't be long. I sat and wait for over an hour. Watched car after car after car get taken in the shop. The tire just sitting there next to the door. Overheard the salesman talking to another man about needing to replace tires. The man had came in 20 minutes after I did. Then the salesman talked to a lady about getting her tire back and ready to pay. So I was passed over twice on the tire line. That was empty at the start of the morning. Being the first job of the day, I didn't think I would have to wait so long to get a tire. At this point is was 8:30. I went to ask what the hold up was. Cody said I don't know, I will go check. He came back got the tire and takes it back to the shop. At 8:45 I hit the point I wasn't taken a BS answer this time. I asked again what is going on. Cody went back and it was 10 minutes he came back with the tire. His hands were black so he had changed the tire himself. So 1.5 hrs he did the work in ten minutes. Cody's story was that his tech thought it was a drop off. He could just get to it when ever he wanted to. So he could just stand around. Or work on other cars. I asked Cody why he didn't check on it. Cody said he just makes the ticket, put it line then just waits for the tech to hand it back. So he doesn't want to do anything out of sitting at the desk. So it was time for the bill. He said it would be the same price as quoted. No hey we messed up here, Sorry about that. Nothing to make it better. Just pay me, we did the work. Your time doesn't mean anything to us. I asked him what is was going to do about dropping the tire price. He just looked at me so I asked again. He called over another guy. Told him what was going on with me. The guy said well I guess I can give you 10% like fleet customer( $10 off the bill) . I said that's a start how about taking the $19 labor. He danced around it and said the 10 is all I can do. The second guy had seen he sit and stand in the waiting room the whole time. He had help other and asked Cody what was going on with me at 8:30. So I handed them the card to pay for it. I had wasted enough time as late for work. So I just wanted to leave. I wouldn't recommend coming here. If you do check in every 15 to see what's going on. They will forget about you. They just do as little as they can to get you to buy service and go home. read more
