I came to Big O for an oil change and a brake check partially because of the coupon I received in the mail. Frankly I was a little disappointed because the service advisor recommended several expensive items such as new tires, brake drum work, and new struts, even though my car is good shape per his assessment. I did let them work on the rear brake as it is a safety concern. I told him I would go have lunch and be back in 2 hours as I have an appointment in the afternoon. I was assured the car would be ready when I come back. Well, it was not. I waited another hour before the work was completed. The worst part is I had to go back after I drove away because the check tire pressure warning came on after about 10 minutes and the vehicle information screen still shows it at 40%. The manager assured me all work were completely as they should, and all they had to do was to reset the computer. Frankly it does not give me the warm & fuzzy. So I probably will go somewhere else the next time. read more

When I checked Firstone the next day it was 300$ cheaper overall, for 2 tires. When I confirm the manager he caved immediately and took off half of the difference. BIG O RIPPED ME OFF, And reimbursed me half the difference when I called them on it. Go to Firestone because big o has actually been ripping my family off for years, don't let them suck you because its a convenient place. There scammers and shisters!!! I've been a long time customer of the Lake Forest location, I purchased all my tires here, multiple cars, multiple years. Service was rock solid for many years, not so much recently. I recently visited the Lake Forest location to plug a small puncture. Tire was fixed no issues but Big O Lake Forest never checked the tire depth while they had my car!! I ultimately found the tire tread was at 2/32" and needed replaced so I ended up wasting time plugging a tire that really could have been replaced! I'm glad they fixed the tire but I really wish I'd known I needed new tires as I'd rather have spent my time on that. read more

Scam, terrible service! I went in to buy new tires. They had a deal "buy 3 get 1 free." Since I didn't know much about tires, I asked the person there (I believe his name was manager Victor) for their best recommendation with that deal. Victor recommended their cheapest tires that did NOT use the "buy 3 get 1 free" deal. Not only that, he up-charged me! I asked if he can lower the price and he was hesitant, but he lowered them. BUT after lowering the price, they were still MORE expensive than what was advertised. These tires were low quality, I asked a few other tire shops and they all recommended to NOT use those tires saying "they would never let their loved ones use them." Victor took advantage of that fact that customer do not know much about tires. He doesn't care about your safety and sells poor quality tires at a higher price than what is advertised. I partially blame myself for not knowing more about tires, but I'm definitely not a tire/car person. There is no integrity, you're better off going somewhere else where they value you as a customer and your well-being. read more

Walked -in without an appointment for 4 new tires for my daughter's car. Lalo loans the rest of the staff were extremely friendly. He explained the charges to me, gave me a "buy 3 get 1 free" deal. The price was very fair. I added the tire protection plan for peace of mind on my daughter's car. The whole job was done in an hour and they test drove the car to be sure all was well. They'll let you know it's coming up that could be warned or needs to be done because of warranty mileage and such. I will use them again as I now have trust for them. I've come here a couple times for emergency flats and these guys are super fast and friendl! The first time I had a blowout and had to have my car towed here. When I arrived a few minutes after the tow dropped off, they already had my bad tire removed and were ready to put the new one on once they received my approval. The second time I came in for a screw in another tire and I was in and out in under 45 mins. Isaac Posada was especially helpful both times and he even remembered me from my last visit! On the last visit, he told me that the Big O shop I went to a few years ago in Burbank completely screwed me over by selling 3 year old tires (fwiw, the Burbank location is no longer in business). Brought my car in for an alignment and asked them to take a look at it because it's been vibrating aggressively. I was told that their mechanic didn't feel the vibration, which immediately tells me they didn't test drive the car like they said they would. Unfortunately I had to leave because I had other things scheduled and came back the next weekend to speak with them about this. They told me they'd have to charge me another fee to look at my vehicle, even though they had previously it and didn't look at it per my request. This is just unprofessional and irritating- if they didn't have time to check for the vibration they could have just said so, but lying to me and saying they couldn't feel anything is wild and shows me they're completely comfortable lying to their customers. read more

Working with Mac and the techs at big o in lake forest was a great experience considering I was out of town for work and in a pinch. They were able to get me in quickly and were open to communication about the vehicle. My clutch went out on my 89 Chevy c1500. After letting them know the history of the vehicle and related repairs they were able to quickly isolate the problem to the slave cylinder and repaired it quickly at a reasonable cost. I will definitely be recommending this tight crew to my clients in the area. No Mickey Mouse stuff. They're the real deal. Grateful that I could get back on the road and home within a few hours. I am highly disappointed with this location. I purchased a set of 4 tires from another Big O location out of state when I had an emergency situation. The tires I bought came with a 50,000 mile warranty but only lasted about 18,000 miles. This location failed to honor the warranty on the tires I purchased from Big O, and even told me if I wanted to have them replace the tires, it would cost several hundred dollars more than I paid for the tires in the first place! I dealt with a person by the name of Mac; he blamed everything on the District Manager. I left the store very irritated, and the experience nearly soured me from every using ANY Big O store in the future. I did end up contacting another Big O store in Irvine in a last ditch effort to resolve the issue. The other location was able to help me out and save me a considerable amount of money. I'm not sure why the Lake Forest location couldn't help me, but one thing I do know for certain, I will NEVER be back! read more

They'll lie to you to get you to buy more tires. They told me my tires were 5 years old. When I told them I'd only had the tires for 2-3 (maaaybe 4) years, he told me Costco must have sold me older or used tires. (We already had plans to go to Costco for new tires when one blew, so I was only coming in for 1 tire.) When I asked them to show me where they were seeing a date, he took me outside and said "see this? This indicates they were bought in 2021". I said "... so 3 years". He said "we're pretty much in 2025 so it's about 4 years, which is pretty much 5." Lmao Anyway, won't be back. Glad I didn't blow $$ on a full set of their tires. read more

I have been a long time customer of Big O until today. I had my oil changed on my car and Big O recommended that I replace my shocks and control arms, the same recommendation they gave me a few months ago. The tech offered me a better price on the parts costs and agreed to matched the previous labor quote. So I set up an appointment for today. When I went in, the Manager asked me to wait 5 minutes (took more like 15) and then after calling AJ, told me he couldn't and wouldn't match the quote provided, even though they took a $100 deposit from me yesterday. He said AJ was new and didn't know what he was doing and instead of 2 hours of labor it should have been 5.5 hours, which would have cost an additional $500+. He implied the tech would be fired. He also said the tech who gave me the quote a few months ago was fired (after lasting only 2 months) because he didnt' know what he was doing either. So I received two quotes from them but they honored neither. If I had done the work on the spot, what would have they done? What kind of business are they running? I went out of my way to come back to their facility today after we agreed on a price and they took my deposit. Total waste of my time. Why do they allow anyone to provide a quote who is not qualified? If they are given the authority to give a quote, they should honor it. Unfortunately, they have lost a long time customer. I will not be going back to them. They have lost more in future business than the additional labor costs they avoided. read more
