Got my brakes done there last with the new team, and when I went to check my pads, I found they cross threaded a lug which on this truck requires to pull the axel to replace... On my way back from San Diego I experienced a low air pressure warning for my right rear tire. It was rapidly deflating. I stopped at a service station to re-inflate the tire in order to get home. The next morning I put on my spare and headed on over to Bymar Tire & Brake. I was surprised to see new people running the shop. When I inquired about the absence of the two gents that had been there since my first visit in 1992. The new personnel informed me they had sold the shop and retired. After inspecting my tires, he recommended I replace all of my tires, and I agreed. He ordered my tires and the next day I got them installed on my truck, at a very reasonable price. Before I left the shop, I told him with a smile on my face, that he was looking at a satisfied customer, and I appreciated what he had done for me. Unfortunately I discovered this when calling for a quote and appointment - but there was no explanation until I asked for Rob. Great experience! Slight mix up in the tire availability but the communication and service were great. Very competitive prices and they didn't nickel and dime me and kept their promise on the pricing. I mainly worked with Jack, although Noah was nice also. Jack was very communicative and informative. I ended up getting tires and an alignment from them. I like how Jack was on top of things, checking with the techs on the status of the cars and then coming into the lobby to let each waiting customer know where their job was in the process and how much longer they could expect to be there. He took the time to explain what they were doing and any difficulties that might have been encountered. Most other shops the staff are too busy to pay attention to you, until it's time to pay. Jack was very conscious of my time constraints and even gave me a heads up that it might take 15 minutes longer than expected. How many other shops do you know if that will do that? My vehicle was done at the time Jack said it would be done and the tires look great. On a side note, as part of his informative informative-ness, Jack let me know that they do more than just tires and brakes. They can work on engines as well. Good to know! read more

I've been a customer of Bymar Tires for more than 15 years and have never been dissatisfied with the service provided or the costs I have paid for the work they have done. Two examples: 1) I recently bought four new tires for my 2020 Lexus ES350. The dealership wanted nearly $1,200. I paid Bymar $800. 2) Today they replaced a blown out tire and two front struts (due to a pothole mishap) and did an alignment. I checked online for the costs of the two struts to be replaced for my year and make of car and that alone totaled nearly $2,000. I paid Bymar $1,400 for all that they did. If you're looking for someone trustworthy to service your automobile and be more than fair on price, you cannot do better than Bymar Tires & Brake. I encourage you to give them a try. This is the 3rd time I have used their service since it was recently sold. First time they fixed a tire that was still under warranty, second was a rear brake job, and I just picked up my car from a BIG job with a turbo booster that had to be replaced and several other repairs. I went in for a simple oil change. The young boy at the counter said the manufacturer recommends 10w-40 oil, which they don't have. I told him 10w-40 or 50 would be fine, but nope, "I can only use what the manufacturer recommends." His lack of knowledge was astounding. He refused to change my oil, even though I was willing to a slightly different weight! There's really no words, other than someone this dumb should not be working the front desk. read more

I've been going to Bymar tire for over 30 years. The owners, Mike and Ray, were very professional and very nice people. I got to know them pretty well over the 30 years I knew that they were going to retire and sell the store so I thought I would give the new owners a chance. I went in to get tires and walked out after 5 minutes talking with the manager. Without getting into too much detail, they are very confused and very unprofessional. They told me I did not need to make an appointment. They told me they had the tires in stock. When I came in, they told me they had sold one of the four tires that I needed it and they only had three left. I said why didn't you hold onto the tires? He replied you should've made an appointment. I will not return. I left immediately. This is actually the first yelp review I've ever written that's how upset I was. It's not the same Bymar Tire. I suggest that you find another place to handle your tires. read more

My husband has been taking our cars to Bymar for 20-25 years. Why? Good quality work and service but even more importantly- they're honest! They don't try to sell you services or products that you don't need. Most recent example- I had taken my Toyota Venza to Toyota RSM for service covered by my warranty. They said my brakes were looking pretty bad and I should replace them. I declined the offer to have them replaced that day. We had the best experience today at Bymar. During a previous oil change at a different shop, my daughter had been told she needed new front brakes and rotors (high quote). Fortunately we decided to get a second opinion from Bymar. They told her she didn't need new rotors yet and saved her a lot of money. It is so rare to find a shop that will tell you when you don't need something. We were having a hard time finding a good place after our regular shop was sold. Bymar also has new owners and luckily it looks like they are interested in keeping customers through honesty. They also offer all repairs now (in addition to tires & brakes). Came by hoping to get a tire patched, but was told it needed to get replaced - they explained why and showed me what they saw. They quoted me for one tire and when I asked if I needed to buy two they were straight up with me and said it's ideal but because of how much tread was left it wasn't necessary. I explained I was on a timeline and they said they could accommodate, which they did. I was in and out in under an hour. And when I got the car, they'd put the spare tire back too. If you want no BS and quality service, this is the spot to go to. read more

Really happy with my service here. I am a part time teacher and don't have a lot of spare funds. I was horrified when my breaks started making the dreaded metallic grinding sound and I thought I was going to have to replace my rotors, which I've had to do in the past. (I am not great when it comes to car upkeep as I am sure you can tell.) The car had been making the noise for a couple days so I was relatively certain it would be bad news. Bymar was recommended by a friend who got most of her and her husbands car work done there, so I stopped by. They were great, super kind, not rude about the lack of car knowledge (or care) though they gave me strict dates in which I should get more things done on the car (which was appreciated.) And were able to get me out the door with just replacing my break pads. They did a couple extra things too with my permission but did not push them on me or try to doom speak me into getting them done, just upfront and helpful. I have moved to Oceanside since then and am about 50 miles from Bymar but will be making the trek up when it is time for more work. Definitely recommend them. read more
