I'm not one to leave reviews but this is worthwhile for folks. TL;DR Inexperienced mechanic falsely diagnosed issue requesting replacement of all 4 tires. Went to Discount tire who accurately found the issue and fixed for free. I came in with one tire that was low, my sensor showed it to be front left. When examined by the tech, he appeared to take the tire pressure, then noticed a "nail" and attempted to see if air was leaking. The nail looked like just a piece of gravel. He was not confident with his diagnosis and thought my rim could've been cracked too but not sure. Said I needed to replace all four tires. I knew something wasn't right so I took my car to Discount Tire. Turns out the back left tire was the culprit, had a nail in it and my sensors for my left front/rear tires were swapped. They took me immediately, patched up the hole from the nail, and checked my other tires. All at no cost! I'd recommend the Discount tire in Arvada off of Wadsworth. read more

Wow the old bait and switch. I needed two new tires for my van. My budget was really tight they suggested I get an alignment but I really couldn't afford it and it didn't make sense to do it being that I was a paycheck away from replacing my struts. The assistant manager lied to me saying that after I change the struts they would realign for free within 90 days. I asked even if I change them myself and replied to my father in-law and that it would still be cover. We'll I showed up today and now the manager wanted me to pay again. The only reason I allowed them to align my van was because of a promise the assistant manager made. I have bought multiple tires this year but never again. It's a gamble over here. They also told me my rear brakes were bad but it was actually the front. Very disappointed and hope they don't do this to someone else. read more

This is an update to my previous review. They sent me away with a leaking front tire so I bought a $12 plug kit from the auto supply down the street and fixed my own tire in less than 5 minutes. It wasn't worth the headache. Chapter 2 Since I bought my tires at the Big O on west Colfax I was hoping to get them rotated there. When I did a web search for the phone number I was greeted with this statement from the business "Make your appointment at Big O Tires shop located at W Colfax Ave, Lakewood, CO 80215" so I thought I would give that a try. Once again I called and asked to make an appointment, this time to have my tires rotated and the employee told me "we don't give appointments for rotations, it's first come-first served. Huh. What am I missing? Is this an industry thing? I don't think so. Either their website is complete bull, or their employees are lying to customers I called the Discount Tire store right down the street and ask if I could get an appointment to get my tires rotated and he immediately said, "Sure, let's get you on the books!" Sunday morning in Wheat Ridge, CO. Very flat tire on our travel trailer. Hm, Sunday. Most everything is closed. After a multitude of calls, I was tickled to have a live human being...and a very pleasant one at that...yes, no recording, just Sunny saying, "Good morning!" Not only was the 9009 W. Colfax AVE, Lakewood, CO Big O open, they said bring it in! Only 5-ish miles away, we grabbed the tire and headed over to be greeted warmly and told it would be about a half hour. That's impressive! We were worried we were going to have to stay until Monday and miss our granddaughter's volleyball game back in SD Monday afternoon. Nope, Sunny got the paperwork done and Gunnison worked wonders with our tire which had picked up a screw. I had an awesome chat about Division II sports with Sunny while I waited and I'm pretty sure it was less than a half hour! They gave us an amazing deal, were pleasant to work with and had us back on the road Lickety Split...ON SUNDAY MORNING! HIghly recommend this neat, clean, reasonably priced Big O with great staff...and the waiting room didn't even smell like new tires! would give it more stars if I could. Would love to give zero stars. I had a nail in my tire so I took it in to this location. I was told the tire wasn't able to be repaired and I would need to buy 4 new tires. The nail was in the tread but I was told it was in the sidewall. I promptly to the car to Les Schwab who fixed the unfixable tire and earned my business buying 4 new tires in the near future. I called to order 4 new tires, the sales agent quoted me $580 per tire / $3300 total installed and included a $300 warranty upsell without even asking if I wanted one. Then when I asked for the price breakdown it added up to $500 less! When I asked him to go over the math he got annoyed and listed the items again so quickly it appeared he was hiding something. The price was suspiciously high. I then called Big-O on Colfax & Grape St and he quoted $500 per tire / 2400 total installed!! How does the same company have a $600 difference in price to order and install the same tires?! I would not trust this location to be fair and honest with their customers. read more

Okay so got a nail in my tire on sat didn't know till Sunday morning. Schedule a online apt Sunday 11am, don't get an email it's rejected. Show up their closed. So make an appointment for Monday 7am, rejection email comes at 6:48 when I am already on the road to their... so don't use online scheduling, still had "first come first served". Not only that the guy said we can't fix it due to "foam". Needless to say I agree they try to upsell and don't care about customer service at all. There's a woman named Caitlin working at this location and she needs a raise. Why? Because her professional attitude and demeanor kept me from burning this store down just now. Why IN THE HELL would your website allow me to make a reservation showing a tire in stock at this store, and then send not one BUT TWO emails confirming my appointment, only for me to show up to be told the following: - "We don't take appointments on Sunday" - "We can't find your appointment." - "We don't have that tire in stock." Absurd. I made a detour to this location and stayed in town an extra day just because your deceitful website pulled a fast one on me and your poor employees. CLOWN SHOW!! Imagine you find perfect snow tires on Tire Rack(great site), have them delivered perfectly and it falls apart. This team put my tires on another guys car. He had ordered different tires designed for an SUV unlike my sedan. We both have warranties for only the tires we bought. The manager gives me 2 choices: 1. Put the wrong tires on my car or 2. Lie to Tire Rack about the delivery Fortunately when I called Tire Rack, they fixed the problem and I got superior service across the street from these bozo's at Discount Tire( clean, professional, cheaper). If it is against your policy to work with insurance agents, you should consider saying so at the beginning of a client interaction. I would've been free to take my vehicle somewhere else and avoid getting SCAMMED by your business. PLEASE BEWARE BRINGING YOUR VEHICLE HERE They pretended not to know how to submit pictures and claims to my insurance for tire rod, control arm, and strut repair. They left my insurance agent, who called to walk them through it, on hold THREE times for extended periods and never called her back. They pressured me into paying out of pocket even though I had stated several times that my insurance claim was processing. They tried to persuade me to sign up for a payment plan with interest after I embarrassingly admitted that I could not pay out-of-pocket since I paid a deductible, and would prefer to allow my insurance to cover the costs. They refused to start work on my car until I agreed to pay out of pocket, only to find out that they charged me $500 more than what my insurance approved. When I was finally ready to pick my car up from this nightmare, MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON with no communication on when or how this could've happened. Needless to say, the check engine light was not on when I dropped off my vehicle and the repairs to my car had nothing to do with the engine. With the awful service I received, I'm not sure I'm truly safe driving my vehicle until I have a more credible shop or mechanic take a look. Over filled my oil after an oil change, smoke has been coming from the exhaust since. $100 oil change and the "technicians" can't fill the oil to the proper amount. Also they did not replace the sticker in the window for the oil change so I've had to carry around the receipt. It's not often that I leave a one star review, but this Big O location finally earned one. Yesterday we had the third and final incident with this store. We came in for an oil change and they did the usual "you need new X and Y" up sell, which our mechanic cannot verify, but that was not the problem. While there (for 2 hours) we had a new tire sensor installed. The light did not go off after driving around for a whole, so we returned to the store to have them adjust it (and had to wait 45 min more). After doing their thing, we returned home for an hour, and came out to find that the tire was totally flat and would not take air. Turns out they installed the valve incorrectly and it was leaking air quickly. I had to take the car back today a 3rd time, which took another 45 minutes, with zero apology for the inconvenience. Prior instances have been similarly inconvenient, including one time where they got our car stuck on the lift for several hours and we had to Uber home. At least that time they offered us a couple free oil changes to say sorry. read more

Quick recap on my visit to this Big O location... I got a new set of wheels and went to get them mounted on my car... well that won't happen because Big O (the last place to rotate my tires) went ahead and stripped one of my lug studs. Doesn't seem like it's going to be an inexpensive fix along with the damaged timing belt. There is no way in hell that I would ever take my car to this location again... let alone any Big O. If you want your car treated like a McDonalds hamburger, take your car to this sh*thole. I'd like to thank you for putting me back on the road with an unsafe vehicle and causing WAY more damage than I ever could have fixing it on my own. I do NOT recommend this location! I made an appointment for a transmission flush and the guy at the counter told me that they won't do a flush on my car as it's "not supposed to be done". Then he went to the back office and had another guy come out saying that they can't do it and it should never be done in addition to the miles. Went in to big o on 9009 Colfax two weeks ago. Tire had a leak and my son bought 4 tires from this shop 1/5/22. Sunny, the manager, informed me that I needed 4 new tires and my tie rods were bad. It was going to be over $1700. I called bs and drove the car to the big o on 44th in wheat ridge. They said Sunny did not tell the truth on tie rods and depth of tread. There was enough tread to only need one tire and since my tires were warrantied, I would owe $45. Then the next day took my sons car to get an oil change and they also said Sunny did not tell the truth about the tie rods and the tread. Called sunny to let him know how I felt about him trying to scam me. Read yelp reviews where woman seem to be the target for these scams. Sunny said if I brought it back he could show me squeaking from the tie rods. Took the car into my mechanic and he also said Sunny is not a truth teller and even more wood on the fire informed me that the big o on Colfax had sold me tires two sizes too small for the car two years ago. The car was probably not running well because of this. Stay away! read more

Wow! I can't believe this store has 3 1/2 stars!!! Someone is being generous! I was just told by Joshua and his buddy that it is ok if customers don't choose Big O for future purchases. That's a pretty ballsy statement. Of course they did not want me to talk to Steve, their manager. Apparently I just missed him. Did you know that when you make a reservation for something quick like an oil change, you still have to wait 3 hours for them to pull your car into the bay?!?! Yep! According to those customer friendly chaps that I had the pleasure of speaking with today, they won't actually make time for you because, and I quote, "if we hold the space for you and you don't show, we've wasted our space and lost money". So, apparently, if I didn't show for an appointment, they could not just slide someone else into that bay?!? Or if I did make an appointment, when I arrived for my appointment they could not finish a car in a bay and then move me in?!?! I'm confused why that would be a problem. Maybe manager Steve could tell me. Or, you could call their owning corp. : TBC Corporation, 561-383-3100 ext 1050 and ask them. I will be calling them tomorrow and speaking to Lisa myself. DO NOT GO HERE. Went in for an oil change + summer tire install before a drive down to Santa Fe. About 5 hours into my drive I hear a rattling noise coming from beneath the driver's seat. I pull off to check it out and find the Big O' Tires mechanic had failed to tighten the plastic and mesh coverings below the engine block. Screws and pins were missing entirely and the coverings were just dangling, bumping the highway + engine block. This left me stranded in the New Mexican desert with hardly any cell service. Luckily, I was just under a mile from a very friendly mechanic who helped me get those parts properly installed. If you want to guarantee that your car will be safe to drive for any reasonable distance, DO NOT GO HERE. read more

I took my van in for some chirping I had been hearing coming from a belt, so they took it in and diagnosed for a $90 charge (absurd) and proceeded to repair with consent. I later picked my van up that day to drive it hone to Avon, when I discovered only as I merged onto I-70 that my van was making the same noise again. I made it home and brought it to another mechanic to find that the belt had come loose. I drove 2 hours with a loose belt and lost a lot of power steering fluid over a SIMPLE task that they couldn't manage to care of. I paid $230 for a HALF ASS job that should've costed half of that. Never go to a lube shop for your vehicles maintenance. Especially Big O. Don't reply to this review with the same response you have for all your bad reviews either. read more

I didn't feel rushed at all and was very comfortable waiting for my car. They also Informed me on the services they did and what they recommended for the next time I come in for my next oil change.
