I'd give zero stars if I could... Took my vehicle there (running perfectly) for a coolant flush and a fuel system cleaning. I go outside to check on the car and to ask the mechanic a few questions while doing the coolant flush. He pops off my radiator cap (on a pressured system that's not drained), shoots out like a geyser and gets boiling hot coolant all over my arm and face, and goes all over my engine, windshield and front end. Mechanic apologizes, but I just care about the car. He douses the engine with water. I go tell the manager Ken, and the guy couldn't care less, just replies with "It happens". and charges me $190. Refuses to get my car cleaned either. I get the car back and it's running terribly, idling erratic, very slow acceleration and sputtering, with coolant all over my windshield for the drive home. Get home and clean my car. I take it back a few days later to have them repair what they did, they didn't have a shuttle driver when they open either so I walk 3 miles back home. They call later saying they looked it over and couldn't find the problem, and they don't have an OBD1 scanner to check the code. I ask them to check the distributor cap to make sure there was no moisture in there causing the issue and Ken hesitatingly agreed to check it. Picked it up later and Ken said they checked and no moisture was in there. I took it home and checked myself and there was water inside causing the issues. Replaced cap and it was fine after that. Worst place I've taken my car to in 20 years. Shows nothing but disrespect to his customers and couldn't care less when his tech burnt me and messed up my car. Zero compassion. I won't be going back there, or any other Big-O for that matter if I can avoid it, and I will encourage everyone I know to do the same. Had an appointment at 9AM for a simple oil change, not many cars or people here. Was told shouldn't take more than an hour at most, so I took a walk and came back an hour and a half later, my car was sitting in its exact same spot as I left it and no one has touched it, yet every single car in the bays were different and there was a whole lot of people sitting inside the waiting area that weren't here when I left and all said there cars were currently being worked on... I mean WTF, really? ... and I even told them there was somewhere I had to be... I suppose if your not paying a lot for your particular service everyone else comes before you regardless of your appointment. I would put zero stars if it was an option. We went to Big O for new tires July of 2020, so that puts purchase at about a year ago. I also purchased a warranty on all three tires I bought. Went in yesterday to see why one of my tires is already showing wire they said I needed an alignment and 3 new tires. I showed them the warranty on the tires and they told me the warranty doesn't matter it doesn't cover it. I asked what it covered and he said "if you hit a curb". I've been to three different ones as well and they all just care about MONEY and NOT CUSTOMER SERVICE! If you need tires go to Discount Tires, Costco or quite frankly any place but here unless you want to get screwed over again and again. NEVER COMING TO YOU BUSINESS AGAIN!!!! read more

My Rv had some tire issues, that was seen a discount tire a few days prior and was worse then when I took it to them. I called Big O and explained my situation since we live full time in our RV with our cats. They set up an appointment for the next day. Austin did an excellent job on my tires, leak was fixed, TPMS was fixed and reading correctly to my dash. They also changed my oil while I was there in the same trip to minimize the tear down of my RV from the resort. This was a priority since we are leaving for a 2200 mile journey in a few days. Went here for all new tires. Made an appointment, ordered tires and showed up at said appt time. He couldn't find our appointment so I showed him on email and what quote was. He takes the keys prints out paperwork and the paperwork is 300.00 more than the quoted price on email! Needless to say- I took my keys and we will he going elsewhere. He tried to tell me he price matches and with balance and rotation it was an additional $300.00??? I think not! Couldn't be happier with this Big O Tire store in Mesa. Tim and Nick are professional, patient and courteous. Quality of service and prices are excellent. But most of all, I am old enough know that not every service shop is perfect. Having something repaired can have problems again. That is why I highly recommend this facility. They smile and make sure they get it fixed immediately. In this summer heat in AZ, it is nice to see genuine caring managers and staff that keep their cool. If negative stars were an option, I would rate this location -5 stars. I ordered 4 Michelin Defender Tires on Wednesday of this week and requested their first appointment of the day on Friday. I was told 8:00AM was the earliest appointment. I incorrectly assumed this meant they open at 7AM. I should have checked. I showed up right at 8:00AM. My car was still sitting in the parking lot at 9AM, so I asked when they were going to get to it. The guy tells me they are bringing it back next. Great, so I left the store on foot...returned at 10:40AM, requested status...Jeff, who was working the counter says - the tires are installed and it's up on the alignment rack. I say - so am I looking at another hour? He grumbles and starts cursing and walks into the shop. He comes back to then start complaining and cursing about another employee pushing all of his work until his day off. Super unprofessional and unwarranted. My car finally gets done at about noon. Then, I am told that due to factory settings, they couldn't complete the alignment, so I say, I shouldn't pay for it then. He says they "don't do that". I left, called the dealership to make sure my vehicle was safe to drive home...the kid doing the work had no clue what he was doing... What an embarrassment! I waited an hour and a half for a simple nail in tire repair. After an hour and a half the young man says we can't fix this because it's a run flat tire, so he put the spare on. I go over to Discount Tire and found out that it is not a run flat tire and had it fixed in 20min,,, free! Car manufactures do not use run flat tires on a vehicle that has a spare. Not only that but Big O is apparently a tire store that doesn't know what a run flat tire is. NICE! Do yourself a favor: DRIVE BY THIS BUSINESS!!!! read more

Not able to give 0 star. I Dropped a wheel off for my pickup to have a new tire mounted for a spare on Thursday . I talked to Andrew- seemed like a nice man and probably still is - we had arranged to drop off my wifes car on Sunday morning for balance, alignment and tranny flush. I had talked to Andrew who called me on Saturday to have me pick up my tire it was ready. Told him I would on Sunday after they finish with my wife's car . Sunday morning comes I came in 20 minutes before my appointment and wanted to drop my vehicle. (I had to be somewhere else at 10 in mesa) . Im in a rush theres a line out the door of about 6 other people that he said were ahead of me! Yet I had the appointment! One guy working. I asked to drop the keys and leave this is usually how its done No not this time says i have to wait!!! Forget this appointment I will go somewhere else. Needless to say i didn't pick up my tire at this time. I went in Monday at 3:00 and picked up my tire. Transaction was smooth enough I got home, did some other things, then took the tire out of my truck only to find that when I set it down, the wheel weight fell off!! Couldn't believe it !! I guess I can because anytime i take a vehicle there to put tires on company, or personal,- anything there is always a tire out of balance and I end up paying somewhere else to fix it !!!!! Im tired of hearing how a wheel weight must of fell off !!! And to top it off NO ONE OVER THERE CARES !!!! And THIS IS THE NEW MANAGEMENT?!!! Sadly, I have many more stories of the quality of work performed at this Big O I keep trying and I keep getting burned ! Its time corporate takes hold of operations here. No. Would not recommend. When I do an oil change I rotate my tires. I mark my tires to ensure their rotated. My tires did not get rotated. I went back in, front desk asked tech to come in. Asked tech if he rotated the tires, tech said "yes". Tech flat out lied. Makes me wonder if oil was changed. But there was enough oil drip when I parked my car in the garage that I assume it was from the small puddles on the floor. read more

I was very impressed. It was my second quote and I was told what would be a full replacement and $500 bill for my Jeep on the first quote. Big O and Trevor to the rescue said even though they had to by the whole part because of the way jeep manufacturs, they didn't have to replace the whole thing which saved me labor and time. The rest was not even close to being damaged and would be just fine. I feel most other places will use it to their advantage the charge you more for the labor involved. They saved me over $400. Yes, it can be frustrating at times, like buying tires on Black Friday with an appointment at 8 am and not getting the vehicle back until 7pm. But, hey, it was Black Friday. My car was "being worked on" for 2 weeks. I bought my own parts to cut the cost from about $3600 to$1700 and was told by staff that they would not put a warranty on the parts since they didn't purchase them (fully understandable). Day after day I called and got a different story as to why my car wasn't done (keep your story and stick to it if you're gonna lie). One story was the manager had pushed other customers ahead of me... I actually believed this one! Another story was the mechanic was instructed to wait until a specific day to start. Another story was the mechanic was ill and didn't come in. Another story was the other mechanic was not qualified to do this type of work. Etc... etc.... blah, blah, blah. Finally get to pick up the car and I'm informed that there is no warranty on the labor either, to include if the mechanic hooked up something wrong. He then started to tell me that if I had to bring the car back and they needed to pull it apart again, but I turned and walked away telling him there was no way I was coming back to this shop. Why a 1 star rating? Because 0 wasn't an option. read more

I got an oil change and they didn't tighten down my oil filter. In the morning I saw at least a quart of oil in my drive way when I pulled out, I went straight to Big O tire after that and they confirmed what I thought. They didn't tighten it down enough. I'm pretty sure they didn't take off my skid plate when they were putting the filter back on, the tech was maybe trying to cut corners? Either way, very unprofessional. Fortunately I saw the oil in my drive way or I could have lost all my oil and had my engine cease up. I won't be going back to them again. read more

I wanted a place to take care of my cars. They get to know me and the cars. I started going to Big O 2 years ago. Even when you make an appointment they are never on time and when you leave they never call you when finished. Beyond never getting the calls or being on time I have had my oil over filled, oil cap not installed correctly. Which let to oil all over my engine and garage floor. I did get $25 off my next oil change. But engine still dirty. On both my cars the air filter housing have been left loose leading to possible dirt entry into my engine and they never replace my sticker on my window letting us know when the next oil change is do. Plus they filled my power steering fluid this last time and left oil all over and my air filter soaked with the fluid. I'm done and would never recommend this place to anyone. read more

Worse experience! These guys are not customer oriented. Went in around 7:45 to get tires rotated. Told the guy i had an appt at 10:30. He said no problem plenty of time. In past I've gone in and had tires rotated and done in less than an hour. After waiting 2 and 1/2 hours and watching 4 other people come and leave, I asked for my keys back. NEVER moved the truck from where I parked it. Guy got the keys and sarcastically said Sorry. This place was good when they first opened but now they don't seem to care about keeping customers. I called in at 11am asking if they had availability for an oil change and Brake check. The guy told me yes and to come in right now. I dropped my car off at 11:30 and they weren't finished with the oil change until 4:30pm... when I picked it up( at 5pm) I noticed they didn't add the new mileage sticker to my window so after all that time I still had to go back and get it because they forgot. Took my Jeep in to have a TPM sensor checked because my light was on. They said I didn't have TPM sensors in any of my tires and needed to pay $400 for replacement, which isn't a bad deal, but I decided to wait and think about it. When I went to get my jeep, I was told there was a $50 service fee for checking the jeep out. I was there the week before, and inquired about some larger tires. My price quote was $1350. I decided to get used tires instead for $300. When I went in for the TPM sensor, they recognized me and said they could have gotten the price down closer to $900. Now why didn't they tell me that in the first place. I am not a fan of companies that play games and are not straight forward. I will not use them, especially when there is a Discount tire across the street, that is very fair and even repaired a tire for no charge, instead of trying to sell me a new one. read more

This place has jacked up oil changes in friends cars and also left stuff in plugged in mine when they did work on my truck. Last time I came here they quoted me for a timing belt kit, everywhere else the kit included water pump....not here. When I opened my hood a hose was disconnected. I went here for an oil change they told me a price, which was reasonable for a synthetic oil change, I know it's going to be more than regular oil...but when I went up to pay they added all this other bs and ended up being 40$ more than what they told me at the start.. what's up with that? These people are terrible. They damaged both vehicles that we have had them work on. They broke the latch on my father's Jeep's tire carrier because they could not figure out how to open it. They also evidently had trouble getting my hood to open because they pried open one side denting my fender and chipping the paint on the hood. Both of these incidents could have easily been avoided by simply asking how to open the tire carrier or the hood. When we picked up the vehicles, we were not informed of the damage and had to find it on our own. Very disappointing and dishonest. read more

This Big O store is a mess! I had a credit because when I brought my 2014 Ram in for an oil change they punched a hole in the fuel line. A long story short I had the problem fixed elsewhere because I couldn't afford the tow from north Scottsdale if they didn't do the damage. So Ken did give me a credit which I tried to use yesterday. My son in law picked up the car and told the guy we had a credit the guy didn't find the credit and now I am out $110. I called before the end of the day and the guy told me to call back in the morning to get the charge reversed through IT because he couldn't give the credit. Then Ken, the manager lectures me on what my son in law should have done and there was nothing he could do. So Big O and Ken can keep the $110 because they are not worth the aggravation!!!! Also as a side note someone lied and said I needed new wiper blades when I just replaced the day before. Big O will never see my business again and I took 4 cars there. Don't go there!!!! read more

WARNING!!!! Avoid this store at all costs. I took my truck for a simple ignition timing issue and the guy they called their lead mechanic could not figure out how to do it. I had to bring up a YouTube video to show him how to perform the work. Even after that, he removed the distributor and reinstalled it out of alignment, causing the engine to backfire and kickback. A brand new engine, mind you... Further, the manager finally called 10 days later and said he had "given up" trying to time it and told me it couldn't be done as I had incorrect parts installed. Then they refused to pay for towing to a real shop that could fix it although they had caused the vehicle to not run at all. I took it to Red Mountain Tire and they performed the work with the same parts within an hour. Running like a top. This shop is dishonest and completely incompetent. read more
