wow. been coming in here since they built and opened the store. sensors in my tires keep going off every four months. brought it in today for an oil change and to fix the sensors again. pick up the car and the sensor light is still on. guy tells me the tires were low and I need to drive it for it to reset. seriously? I worked in tire business for thirty years and know this is not true. you did not do the job I came in to have done. I doubt you even lookEd at the tires cause I checked the air when I dropped it off and the tires were not low. how dishonest and you have lost my business forever. Also did not get a sticker showing the oil change miles. Now I wonder if they even did that. update: brought car in to discount after a week of the light staying on. Within five minutes they told me we had a faulty sensor on the back left tire. Hmmmm, why did big O charge me to review my tires and did not find The faulty sensor? I changed the tires, the oil, and last time whoever changed the oil forgot to tighten the oil filter and it spilled all of the motor. I'm originally from Montana and have had a number of really good experiences with Big O as they have a larger market share in the Northwest, similar to how Discount Tire has in the Southwest. I picked up an amazing Groupon, three oil changes for $20 at this Big O location. That's a screaming deal and quite frankly, I wondered it they would honor all three since it typically takes a little over a year for me to get three oil changes done. Very happy to report that they gladly honored all three changes, just finished the last one last week. One of the differences between Big O and Discount is Big O also does mechanical work including brakes whereas Discount does not. My brakes were squeaking and since I only had 20K on the new vehicle, I didn't think I needed new pads already but asked Big O to take a look during the last oil change. I always feel vulnerable when I ask a mechanic to take a "look", it seems you're almost inviting yourself to lose a couple hundred dollars in repairs. That wasn't the case with Big O, they changed the oil and verified that my brakes were fine-no need for any work at this time. Love the honesty! This is a busy location, you probably need to call ahead for an appointment for most service work. read more

Brought my BMW here to swap wheels using same tires. Car shook violently, took it back two more times for a rebalance and they only made it worse. Each visit they had my vehicle for at least 3 or more hours. Took the vehicle to discount tire and they balanced them in 15 minutes and now the vehicle rides beautiful. Always choose discount tire, I learned my lesson. read more

I cannot express my gratitude for the customer service at this location. As a family of 6 they went above and beyond to give us a piece of mind when leaving the shop. My breaks were sitting in the front seat of my van as I only went in for a lug but to be replaced as I broke upon removal. They saw and heard how bad my breaks were but couldn't allow us to leave with the breaks as they were. So they put on the passenger side pads for us!!! As well as replaced 3 other lug nuts that were in bad condition. This, we are so great full for as we had two children with disabilities and having to drive to Phoenix children's hospital four to five times a week. So amazing to see that there are still great ppl in this crazy world!! I'd highly recommend Big O on happy valley any days hands down!!!! read more

My son and I were out for Sunday errands; 95 degrees outside and got a flat tire. I called their store out of concern they suggest I call AAA or put air in at the nearest gas station. I did pull over and add air then headed in to their shop. On arrival they were very kind and let me know they would see I fit was fixable or if I would need a new tire; gave me an honest wait time and offered us indoors and outside seating. The shop was clean, had free WiFi and complimentary water and coffee. After our wait they let me know they were able to patch my tire ; that eventually I would need new tires and gave me a free and fair quote. I was charged nothing for my visit and my tire fix and will be back. I felt very comfortable and highly recommend this shop. read more

I had a horrible car repair experience with Tyler Seibel, and Alex Kesso. I brought in my car to have them see what the problem was. Because I failed the car emissions check. The check engine light was on. After a diagnosis. They came up with a solution. It had a few sensors that were bad. In the process of installing the sensors. They messed up my power steering pump. It leaked and made a horrible noise for two days. But after a few days of the back and fourth thing with Big O'. On the third day. Javier Jimenez made good on fixing my car. So I went here yesterday (6/17/16) to have balance & alignment checked after having 22s & new rims put on my 2015 Tahoe elsewhere. Since that I felt they rode rougher than the manufacturer rims/tires. So I check in w/ a pleasant Blonde haired lady (sorry I didn't catch her name) - my husband normally handled these things... But I decided to take charge this time. So they balanced the tires which they found that they were "off" balance. She informed I might need a kit that secures the after market install of tires / rims. So after it is confirmed the tires weren't balanced & no kit was needed either. We decide to check the alignment just to have all bases covered. Sadly they did not have a safe alignment equipment to not damage the size of the tires / rims - she stated they have the proper equipment at their Cave Creek location & she could drive it over or I can take it over. I agreed to her taking it there, as I thought she would receive priority over me for the alignment . An hour later she was back & their Courtesy Shuttle guy picked me up as she said it would take 2 1/2 hours between locations & I didn't have a ride back at that proposed time frame! So my service was quick, affordable & courtesy pick up gentleman was very kind!!! I will definitely be back!!! TY Big O!!! read more

We experienced a "classic" auto scam... came in for one thing and were told about a series of issues with our vehicle. Decided to take it to another shop for a second opinion and the next place said they didn't see any of the issues that Big O Tires "discovered" upon examining our truck. Surprised, but not surprised. Do yourself a favor and get a second opinion before repairing a bunch of things that don't need repairing. Or, find a shop you can trust. We won't be back here. read more

Brian was great; he was helpful, polite and honest. However, that is where the positives end with this place. Everyone other than Brian that I dealt with was rude and snippy. They were incredibly condescending and sarcastic when they spoke to me ,and they had no courtesy for my time. I brought my car in for a 3:15 appointment, and at 4:30 my car hadn't even moved from where I parked it. When I asked about it, the man up front had a sarcastic response and nothing even remotely apologetic to say. Then, I simply asked how long it would take once my car got back there, and he, again, had a condescending response. To top it all off, after waiting for 2 hours for them to change a single tire, they made me wait another 20 minutes just to get my keys and pay. They helped four new customers before letting me check out. I understand that things run late sometimes, but the lack of customer service and consideration for my business and time, was appalling. Overall, my experience was unpleasant. I will definitely not be back to this store. Ever. read more

I am updating my previous review. I do not know what has changed but this place has gone down hill!!!!! The Manager, Desiree is RUDE!!!! She is nasty! I never dealt with her previously. I always had a nice older man who helped and now he is gone. My daughter recently had new tires on and she was overcharged by more than $100. They charged for an alignment but never gave her the sheet that shows before/after (nothing at all about the alignment was provided), they charged for extra warranties that were already covered in the standard road hazard she'd already paid for and they charged her for nitrogen she didn't ask for. Then my husband bought tires in September and in 10 days one tire bubbled out and started separating. At first they weren't going to do a darn thing but then after much argument we got a new set of tires (we didn't trust the brand that was on there as the tire fell apart). Then the next set they put on were Nexen tires which they said were BETTER and they haven't gone 15,000 miles. They are GONE. At first they said we didn't have a receipt and so they wouldn't do anything (funny this should all be in their system). we locate the receipt and now they don't want to do anything as they said we are not allowed to do the tire rotations. Desiree was very nasty at that point and said "you can see you didn't rotate the tires". We did, every 5,000 miles. The reason why we don't take them to Big O for tire rotation is because it's 2.5 to 3 hours. They are SLOW. My husband can do it in 30 minutes in the driveway, why would we waste 3 hours! The receipt says nothing about Big O having to do it but she claims that is the only way they will honor the warranty. Legally, this would have to be disclosed at time of purchase, but they don't seem to care about that. We reviewed the entire receipt and not a word about having to come to Big O for tire rotation. These tires have a 40,000 mile warranty and they won't do a thing. In fact, when my husband told them they had a warranty the response was "we'll call the manufacturer and get back to you". After more than 24 hours and no call, my husband stopped by Big O and they had not even called. He picked up the phone then and Nexen wanted proof of rotation. So we spent $1300 on a set of tires that are completely gone at just over 15,000 miles and we get nothing but attitude. Looks like the Discount Tire just down the street just got a new customer! read more

Hard to tell from the reviews how to feel about this place. The ratings are on both ends of the spectrum though the "5 stars" outnumbering the "1 stars." My experience was VERY positive. Granted, I don't have high-end vehicles (or tires) that require special treatment but I found the service to be great and plan to go back to them. read more

We have had a horrible experience now twice here. The second time my husband had a flat. When they went to inspect the tire they broke the lug nut and refused to pay for it! They told us that a replacement for it would be $500. They didn't consult my husband about removing the tire either. They also told him that they "saved" the tire but they didn't provide him with any sort of incident report. Absolutely horrendous and likely bogus. My husband didn't see it break off and then they didn't even want to give him the broken lug nut so foul play is suspected. Rob, the manager is rude (by the way, he told me HE was the Manager, when my husband showed up, he said he was NOT the MANAGER and that the Manager lives in Vermont and is NEVER in town but once every 4 months or so), condescending, and completely unprofessional. Went there and bought a sumitomo tire a few weeks back. Driving with it the first day, it felt very unsafe. I found out they put the wrong tire on my car. They put a touring tire and it should have been an ALL SEASON, HIGH PERFORMANCE. I called store and asked to bring back the tire. They said, as long as I didnt exceed 100miles on the tire they would take it back. I told them I wanted pirellis and they told me they didnt carry them and couldnt match the $300less pricing I found at a competitor shop. I put my car in the garage for a week and carpooled with my husband to ensure I did not put any more miles than the 67 I did on the tire. When my tires came in at the DISCOUNT TIRES STORE, I bought my new tires. I then brought the sumitomo back with a whopping 67miles on it for my refund. Rob proceeds to tell me that they only refund if I come back and exchange it for another product. Ummm, maybe Im retarded but then it wouldnt be a refund! So now I get the story that if i wanted a refund, i would have had to bring it back after 30miles which is considered a test drive. THIS IS NOT WHAT THEY TOLD ME in the store or on the phone and it is not what they told my husband when he called the store. I am now out $227.00 for a tire that sucks and I would never put back on my car.We called the Customer Service number for Corporate and they told us the AREA MANAGER refuses to call us to talk about it and that we have to just "Suck it up!" because it is a franchisee and they don't have to talk to us. ARE YOU EFFIN KIDDING ME! How in this day and age does Customer Service become like this? I hope this store goes under! Do not give this store the time of day!!! read more

I would only suggest going here if you are OK with getting completely ripped off. I was quoted over $1100 for a job that after doing some research and a few phones calls was quoted $540 out the door. Why the big difference? The General Manager at the store padded the cost of the part by 120%!! The service guys there are friendly but the GM that gave me the quote obviously seen an opportunity to take advantage of someone in need and he did it. However, I am not stupid and know how the business works. So you lost my business, which is a shame because I drive an older vehicle and I am constantly going in for maintenance! I had written a review back in 9/2013, giving them 5 stars. This time it's 1 star. I was in a rush for time back in April when I took my car in for an oil change. I was thinking I needed to put on new shocks and struts, it had been so long and I was still on my first pair. The list of items was quite extensive what they found in addition. Nothing was pressing, was up to me what I wanted to accomplish. Brian was working with me at the time. My answers were slow to come, he said they were quite busy. I took my car back the next day for new shocks and struts. Dropped it off first thing in the morning and didn't not get my car back until almost 2pm. I needed to leave town the next day so I was quite hurried my whole day because my car took over 6 hours to finish when the labor estimate was roughly 4. I got a call from the tech working on the car that an alignment was not listed but he recommends I do that because of the front end work. I was under the impression that the quote given included the alignment, I know Brian and I had spoken about it. That also left a bad taste in my mouth. A few hours after I got my car, I looked underneath and could see where the new shocks were but couldn't see the rear struts. I called and the tech spoke to me, he tried to explain to me how to see them. Or I could come back in and he could show me. Since I was rushed, I couldn't do that and said I would come back when I returned from my trip. Cut to 4 months later and I am home now. I take the car in for a routine oil change at a nearby shop that just moved in and had a special. They see I've had some front end work done and comment how typically I would want to also address the back end. My car was up on the lift and I was able to look underneath. Clearly, the struts in the back were not new. I called Big O back and asked if they had my paperwork and if they could tell me if front and rear work was done which they said it was. I brought the car in and Garrett helped me. They looked under the car and then put it up on the lift and he said they looked old and he would look at the paperwork. Garrett was quite accommodating in remedying my situation. He got me in and out in about a hour. Apparently, the technician that had been working on my car had been terminated due to other incidents. I paid for an alignment back in April which makes me question if it was done at all since the new shop saw some feathering in my tires. The only remedy for that was a coupon for a complimentary oil change. After this, how do I trust that during this complimentary oil change, the technicians won't deliberately mess something up. I was quite disappointed to find out about the rear struts. I had such high hopes for the shop and it's managerial staff. I realize that the technician was the one that tried to pull something fraudulent and I am sure this is not a Big O standard. The Yelper reviews are also hit or miss for this shop. Just buyer beware! Always check on the work that is supposedly done on the car. read more

Wow. Never ever again. They told me I needed 4 new tires, power steering flush, and rear brakes replaced. I had a free oil change so I had a feeling they would tell me I needed to get work done, but this much? I got a second opinion and my car is in tip top shape! For example, my tires will last me another 15k miles! They probably just wanted to sell them cheaper. Was told they could sell them for at least 30 bucks a tire and wanted to charge me $650+ for new ones. No thanks! read more

Poor experience all around. Not pleased with the customer service. On two occasions they tried selling my wife services that were not necessary. The wait is always extremely long. We ended up having them do a transmission fluid flush which they recommended, then we (finally) started seeing a real mechanic who said the job was done half-*** and it needed to be redone. Not a cheap job. Big O also recommended new rear brakes.. which our new mechanic said were not at all needed yet! We now go to Discount Tire for tires and a great mechanic in Deer Valley called Action Auto who we highly recommend. Do not spend your money here. read more

These guys are the most trustworthy, honest, hardest working people I know in the car industry. When they change your oil they also inspect your fluids tires shocks and anything else that might crop up and bite you. Labor cost is very fair for the great wizardry that they performs. I've had the most pain in the butt cars of mine worked on: Chrysler PT Cruiser GT and naturally aspirated with the famous "no-space engine bay", Audi TT Quattro Convertible. Through out the part two years they've done it all: something as simple as doing the oil, fixing a tire leak, brake rotors and pads, CV Axles, tranny work, electrical and they always exceeded my expectations min every way. I keep returning to this location because it's right next to my house but never again. No matter what the situation is they always try to sell you something. I get it they are trying to make money but it's pathetic how much they try to up sell you. I had a 2 month old tire that had a bubble on the side of it, they called it "the impact bubble" therefore it's not covered under warranty. There was no impact!!! They sold me the new tire for $60 (cheap) but with installation and bunch of other fees it ended up being $108!!!! Jesus Christ where did the other $48 come from!?!? Their customer service sucks!!!! Bob who is one of the floor managers laid the "your manufacturers warranty will be void," if you get the 29.00 special oil change, so he talked my son into the $79 oil change with his false tactics. I had taken my car to this garage and few weeks later the low traction light and low air pressure light kept coming on and would not reset. I took my car back and they could not locate the issue...they suggested I take my car to the dealer. The feedback from the dealer was that after rotating my tires, the tech at Big O Tires did not torque the lug nuts enough and one of my wheels could have fallen off my car!! Also, the tech at the dealer did not believe the tires were re-aligned after they were rotated. And the fluids Big O Tires supposedly "topped off" were so low the tech at the dealer did not believe they were topped off!! Beware!!! read more

A few months ago I got to meet Mike the mgr who also assisted me very generously when I needed a alignment and tire for my Mazda5. i love the fact they offered me a ride to my job while they worked my Mazda.
