Ordered the Birria Taco's w/ Consomé, rice and beans. The tacos were savory and cheesy. The beef was tender and melted in my mouth. Lacked salt in my opinion. Flavor popped once I dipped the tacos in the consomé though. Rice was cooked to perfection and the beans had great flavor. The strawberry lemonade was top tier. I was craving Tacos and was heading to Taco Bell. My kids told me about Big Papi's. My daughter did warn me that they are expensive. The location was easy to find and the inside was very neat and open. (no in restaurant seating) It was my first time there and one of the workers gave me some information and told me to use the touch screen to make my order. (Think WaWa's, Sheetz using a touch screen, etc.) The menu isn't extensive but has a nice variety. The typical protein you'd find at a Taco restaurant, beef, pork, shrimp, and fresh guacamole. I ordered my wife a shrimp quesadilla and I ordered 3 shrimp tacos. They are set up cooking the food like Waffle House (the cook is on the grill cooking orders as they come up) so there was a little waiting. They take phone and online orders. One thing I noticed is that they count the shrimp they give you like the Hibatchi grills at the mall. I didn't expect the get the amount of shrimp you'd get on a shrimp Po-boy (gotta be familiar or from NOLA to get that reference), but it was enough. Also, these aren't combo meals.....by that I mean they don't come with rice and beans. There is an extra charge for "sides". The tacos were very good and the shrimp were very well seasoned. My wife enjoyed the quesadilla with fresh quac. I don't have any major problems with Big Papi's, but like my daughter, I won't be eating there regularly because of their prices are a little steep. read more

I ordered online and was surprised I got a text saying my order says ready almost immediately, but considering I didn't have a great experience the time before this I figured they had just died down, so I ran up there quick, I'm like 5 minutes away. I get there walk in to blaring music and my order is not ready apparently... so I see the guy load up 3 birrea tacos but they were sitting under a big order so figured they went with that order. I could see my name on their order board so to me still looked like it was in the process, so after 30minutes of me standing there and that big order getting bagged up, I asked if my order was going to be ready some time soon and girl is like oh sure here they are, just sitting in the back under that big order, getting cold as shit. I get them home they cold, and barely have anything in them. I get in my car and I get another text from their website saying my food is ready again. I like this place ! The first time I went was better than the 2nd. I got the shrimp tacos and the vegan chorizo and the shrimp was amazing!!!! The chef made it perfect. The vegan chorizo was not my favorite. The second time I went I didn't really like the shrimp preparation not sure what they did different but that's why it's 4 stars. I also don't like how they cross contaminate the seafood with the meat on the grill but that's just something I need to adjust to because most places do this probably and I don't see it. Last Sunday after church my daughter, son-in-law, granddaughter (whose almost 4), grandson (age 6) & myself drove to the Maggie Malick Wine Cave to meet up with some family friends. As their food menu centers around cheese, cheese spread & meat with baguette bread we stopped at Big Papi's for tacos, nachos, chips N queso & free kids meals. My daughter went inside to order on their order board using a Grub Hub promotional code. About 15 minutes later we had our food & continued on with our drive. When we got to Maggie Malick Wine Cave I was very hungry! The carne asada tacos tasted so good! I tried both the green and the red sauce but preferred the red. The steak was tender and perfectly seasoned. There was plenty to share with a box of 20! The kids shared the chicken quesadillas & fries. The fries were a big hit! My son-in-law and daughter enjoyed the nachos and the generous topping of carne asada steak. We all had some of crispy chips N queso that came with the taco box! I love queso! Crazy good. We've eaten here twice in less than 2 weeks. It's so good. We've tried the birria tacos, chicken tacos, guac, salsas, papi sauce, queso, birria ramen and the quesabirria. All crazy good. The quesabirria is our favorite, with the birria tacos and ramen tied for second. The green salsa was our favorite of the salsas. Guac is good. Pass on the queso. This is a hidden gem. I'm not a taco person, but the food was amazing. The employees were very friendly and aware of what customers ordered.

First attempt to eat here was near 630pm on a Saturday. We tried to order online but their online ordering was down and when we tried to call, they were not taking phone orders, so they literally expected people to drive over to order in person, and then sit and wait 50+minutes for it to be ready. Another attempt this afternoon at 330pm found us taking food away rather quickly. The photos on the website are SO tempting but the taste really fell flat. By the time we got home (because obv you can't eat there) 15 minutes later, everything was soggy. None of the tacos were crispy. Their 'salsa' is hard to describe; a cross between entirely tasteless and gross. The meat was tender and flavorful. The guac was tasty but even though we ordered guac and cheese dip, they sent us the equivalent of the kid chips from Chipotle, definitely not enough. Also, nothing was overtly 'Mexican' though that's what you feel they're really trying to do. I like to go to local restaurants twice before I give them a review. Every business has a right to charge what they want for their goods or services. For me, I found the price didn't match up to the food. I tried the birria with consume twice. I was still hungry after eating them. For the money spent, I expect to be full.
