I ordered three traditional tacos (2 steak and 1 chicken). The meat was heavily piled on two amazing corn tortillas. I would say almost a pound of meat and full of juicy flavor. The food is delicious. The service is a little slow depending on the amount of take out orders but the food is cooked fresh so it's a good offset. The ambiance is very welcoming and cultural. Some of the prices are kind of off (3.15 for a CAN of Pepsi) but I didn't have time to dispute them giving the benefit of a doubt that the system was not functioning properly. The salsas used to be labeled on the bottles but now the label is placed on the rolling fridge. Who knows how some customers just put stuff back randomly. Good thing is that the food was cooked fresh. The chefs do not skimp on the protein so you will definitely get your moneys worth. I had the carne street tacos, tripa tacos, lengua tacos and some soup. Tripa tacos were definitely fresh and the host asked if I would like them crispy and they delivered. The steak was moderately seasoned and a little over cooked that it was kind of dry. Adding salsa did not help that day. The lengua tacos were cooked perfectly where they didn't melt and you weren't chewing a rubber band. HUGE portions! I ordered combo #4: two sopes, rice, and beans--my husband ordered an al pastor taco sope and a shrimp taco. We also ordered chips & guacamole to share. We easily could have ordered just 1 platter to share, the sopes are supersized (and sooo delicious). The guacamole is wonderful and it felt like a super generous portion, as well. Delicious house-made chips. We loved the salsa bar but realized too late that we never found the habanero salsa (you need to ask for it at the counter). These tacos were really good and really stuffed. I came when they had a deal going on for taco Tuesdays. The workers were great and told me which tacos were their favorite and which I should get. Food came out pretty fast and sauces are located on the side and you put them on the tacos yourself, which I really liked. I recently ordered from Taco Bar, and it was honestly a huge disappointment. I selected several items like salsa, onions, and cilantro from the options menu, as well as requested utensils and napkins. When I picked up my order, I even asked the staff if everything I requested was in the bag, and they assured me it was. However, when I got home and opened the bag to dig in, NONE of the items I selected were included--no salsa, onions, cilantro, or any condiments at all. On top of that, there were no utensils or napkins, making the entire experience frustrating and inconvenient. I've ordered from here before and never had issues, however I've only dined In never take out . This time was a complete letdown. I won't be returning anytime soon unless they can get their order fulfillment together. In my honest opinion , just dine there don't take out !! The flavors of the food here are very good! They only serve quesobirria tacos on Thursday so if that's what your looking for, they only have them for one day. That's what I went in for! Although, we were sad to have missed the best day, in my opinion, my family and I tried different options. I got the combo #1 which comes with your choice of two tacos, rice, and beans. I chose carnitas because that will always be my favorite! My husband got the torta, which that sandwich was the size of his head! My son got the carne asada fries which were amazing! My family and I came here for dinner, ordered a couple, Conasauga fries, Canastota, tacos, and a variety of tacos. The salsa bar was great. My favorite is the spicy salsa. The cheese taste like Ricos cheese for the nachos. I was a little disappointed to see my food come out on the paper plates that I use at home, lol. And the fries - were a small plate, not very generous at all. The cheese quesadillas were terrific. Fries were thicker than McDonalds and crisp. No chips and salsa and no hard shells on the menu. My favorite were the tacos. When someone says tacos, I always jump for joy and hardly ever let the opportunity pass. Taco Bar is a hole in the wall located in Frederick, MD off of West Patrick Street. A tiny gem with gratifying, bold, and savory flavors. The restaurant's interior was so inviting from the celebration of colors of the dia de los Muertos which means the Day of the Dead. These tacos were beyond delicious! I ordered the al pastor and chorizo tacos from their combo menu and I knew from the start that there will be zero regrets. The meal came with rice, beans, and a drink. The horchata drink is a must get! It was creamy but not overly sweet. The pork tasted like it was marinated for hours and the sautéed onions gave it the extra flavor. The chorizo was seasoned very well but slightly too salty for my taste buds. Since moving to Frederick, Maryland from San Diego I have been looking for real authentic style Mexican food or even "taco shop" style Mexican food (if you're from SoCal you understand what that means). I am part Mexican and grew up within a heavy Mexican culture in my family but also in my community, so my standards for Mexican food are high! I can't say that I found that here at Taco Bar exactly, but it's the first burrito I've had here that kind of reminds me of home in a good way! I had the Burriloco burrito with steak as my protein. I actually enjoyed it! The meat was well seasoned and cooked, there was a good ratio of the beans, rice, cheese and fries. It hit the spot! I would and will get it again. I tried the mild (green) salsa and it was also not bad! I decided to try a taco on the side to see what that was about. I got the Al pastor taco. It was AIGHT. The meat itself was tasty, but the corn tortillas...straight trash. You cannot call yourself "authentic" if you use generic American style tortillas instead of homemade. Personally, I feel like a tortilla can make or break a taco/burrito and in this case I don't picture myself getting tacos again from here. One last thing: the prices are ridiculous. I paid $11+ for my burrito and $5+ for ONE taco. That is crazy to me! Seems like they try to Jack up the prices here for some reason but it is unwarranted. Coming from an expensive burrito, I can tell you that the average price for a burrito like the Burriloco in SD is about $9. A taco would run you about $2-3. I also got a can soda which cost $2. For a CAN. Crazy... Since my burrito was good and the taco meat was good, I feel like this place has potential and deserves 4-stars. The Taco Bar is just a month old and already they are a favorite place of mine to get some very good Mexican grub. The concept is clean and easy. Pick your meat and order a Taco, or Burrito, Quesada, or Torta. Then have a seat and wait for one of the best true Mexican food experiences to come to you. They may not be fast, but you can't rush true perfection with this great food. Also bring an appetite as the meat is not an afterthought it's the star. The service is very good and helpful. The flavor was incredibly complex, with out the mineral organ taste. The service is fast, polite and welcoming. Additionally the Taco Bar is clean and uncluttered. Randomly spotted Taco Bar during a road trip pit stop and all these great Yelp reviews was all I needed to give it try. A legit taco spot with amazing decor. For $3.50 a taco, you get a heaping amount of meat, almost enough for 2 tacos! I ended up with a taco platter - one steak and one pork taco, both of which were delicious. For $.50 more I added lettuce, cheese, and sour cream to my tacos. PS I loved their hanging terrariums! read more

Omg I love this place. They have fresh, authentic tacos that seriously can't be beat. I love the toppings bar with the variety of salsas and fresh veggies for your choosing. I love the different types of authentic drinks and sodas available. I love the whole ambience and decor of the inside of the restaurant. It's so chill and down-to-Earth, and eating inside is part of the experience.
