Stopped for lunch with my wife and the lunch special ($5.65), a slice and drink and we added a salad ($3.95) since it takes about 15 minutes since every slice is made to order! Coming from NY (but now in GA for 8 yrs) this is in my top 3 pizza places I've enjoyed since being here. The crust is very thin, the cheese is a great blend, and the sauce is not too sweet. The crust usually gets a perfect char to add flavor without being overly burnt. The slices here are huge, but you can get a "normal" sized whole pie (or the enormous one). Sitting in the Publix shopping plaza alongside a few other restaurants and local shops, Big Pie In the Sky is a local pizza shoppe slinging some of the biggest slices I have seen! You can also get standard size slices, or a Stromboli...but the single massive slices are a must at some point. Big Pie serves up all the standards of a pizza joint from, you guessed it, pizza to calzones, salads, cannolis, and a few other items. Both times I have visited, we have been in for lunch and ordered their lunch special, which is one slice plus a drink for around $6. Totally worth it, as the slices are HUGE! This latest trip in, I ordered the lunch special with pepperoni and then added a cheese slice, as I was feeling extra "fatty" that day. Do not regret it! The pizza is NY style with a thin and crisp base topped with minimal sauce and solid amount of toppings all surrounded by a doughy crust. Big Pie has been here for a while and the place shows it. It definitely has a local feel, and while that isn't a terrible thing, the place is showing its wear. Service was solid from entry to exit. Overall, Big Pie is a solid pizza spot. Definitely some of the better pizza I've had in Georgia, however sometimes it can be a hit or miss with the grease and cook on the dough. Most of the time it's pretty consistent though and the flavor alone is super nice. Nice spot for a casual slice or a whole pie. Didn't have to wait too long and the service was great too. read more

My buddy and I went here on a Friday night to take on their Infamous carnivore Pizza challenge. It is a 30-in diameter, 11 lb pizza. You have 1 hour as a two-person team to finish it. Gluten free pizza...finally not being terrible was the low bar, but this stuff it legitimately tasty! We tried the vegan gf and the cauliflower crust and both were solid. Yes, they are small, but the price point is reasonable for gluten free (which is always ridiculous) and the toppings were very plentiful. Located in a small shopping center anchored by a Publix Supermarket, where shopping is a pleasure, there are plenty of self parking spaces including ADA. Entering the restaurant you walk up to the counter and your choices are on the wall and yes they do have lunch specials. They collect your money and you can order a beer (bottle) or Coke product. Self seating and they offer indoor and outdoor seating. I ordered a Calzone and it was delivered in a short time. Taste, temperature and texture were spot on. Good size portions served. I was on a road trip with a buddy and we stayed with a friend of his. My hosts recommended this place for dinner since there was at least six of us (possibly more) and the 30" pizza would be more than enough should more people arrive. There was talk of the carnivore but my host's wife vetoed that-too much meat. We eventually got a pizza with pepperoni and Italian sausage. We rolled up to the storefront and our pizza wasn't quite finished yet so we waited around a little. You figure 30" isn't too bad, height-wise it's underwhelming, but the second you see a two and a half foot pizza being brought out and then you realize, "damn, this is pretty damn big." How big? They had to crack the box open to let it air out a bit so the steam wouldn't make the pizza soggy. How big? We had to hold the pizza up over our heads because the box was so big that there was no other way to get back to the house. Ok, so the pizza's huge, nice gimmick-so much so that they still tout that Adam Richman came through. The pizza? Hey, not bad! I'm pretty glad that Carnivore got nixed, because I'm pretty certain my opinion of it would have changed but two meats was just the right amount of meats on it without it being excessively greasy or salty. read more

Food - disappointing. I am new to area with job and thought I could find some good Italian. I ordered chicken Parmesan sandwich and to say that the grocery store next to them makes the same , pretty much sums it up. I will try their pizza the next time and hopefully they use a more flavorful sauce than what the used on the frozen chicken tenders. Big Giant Pizza is one of my favorites to grab when I go to this place. Their pizza is really good and HUGE! They always give great service and are friendly. The ambiance can be a bit noisy at times since teams and families all come to enjoy a great slice, so if your looking for a quiet place you may want to try them at the beginning of the week. I am not too crazy about their wings which is a bummer cuz I love wings w/pizza however their salads are great and their sandwiches are pretty good as well. It is pretty much self service as you have to go to the counter and place your order and then sit down with a number and they bring you the pie. However, the staff is usually very nice when I go there. We don't go there for the ambience. It's just a nice little pizza shop. As long as you follow the rules, everything is great.
