Wow, I was not expecting this level of quality. This restaurant is fantastic, went for the first time today. In my group we ordered the Lobster roll, Reuben Sandwich and my daughter ordered the chicken quesadilla. Everything was delicious. I hope this restaurant makes it, it will hopefully raise the bar with some of the other competing restaurants in the area. My only concern is the size of their menu, it's one of the biggest I have ever seen, with so many options, how do you stock and keep fresh products? I hope they condense the menu at some point. read more

Generally a bad sign when a place this small has a menu this big... that proved correct. Ordered a burger medium, received a charred puck of bitter black ash. I would recommend heading on to Boondocks which has always proven a good choice to us year after year. read more

We stopped by on the way back from key west. The menu is like 6 pages with more than enough options! We settled on the lobster roll (it was HUGE filled with tons of lobster), the lobster Mac & cheese (again, filled with lobster) with sweet cornbread & the mother clucker sandwich (massive sandwich). Quaint little restaurant with a really unique name. Went in for breakfast befor a dive. Our waiter was super friendly and made suggestions for ordering. They even accommodated my friend who wanted to order from the lunch menu. I had the breakfast buffet. It was tasty but for the price (around $12-15), I was a bit disappointed in the number of selections. What was there was tasty but I felt for the price, there would have been more to choose from. Nachos was huge easy to share with a few friends. Good drinks. They have indoor and outdoor seating and plenty of parking. Service was a little slow like everywhere else at the moment so I would recommend getting there early. read more

My main gripe about the Rooster is that it's often packed a little too full. Once you're seated it's not so bad, but peak times can feel pretty cramped in such a small place. They have a great staff and good food though. And a generous rewards program (buy 8 get 1 free). Watch out for the pole dead-smack in the middle of the parking lot. It has claimed a lot of bumpers and tail lights. read more

Nice place. We tried based on reviews and goofy rooster sign! Had the philly steak--huge! Really good potato wedges, with a seasoned coating. Companion had the 6 oz fillet and loved it! Cute rooster themed decor! Nice waitress. They also have a breakfast trade, so we may go back. Waitress says it is currently a buffet, but they are discontinuing that and going to made to order breakfasts. Saw other diners with salads and pasta entrees--all looked good! I'm giving 3 star to this place for few reasons. The food is mediocre at its best. The calamari we ordered is great but it has more jalapeño than calamari (maybe because we only asked for half order). Ok I can let that go. Then we ordered the market price mahi mahi (just because that's the only available fish they have) there's are few choices on how you want it cooked, my son picked bronzed and I picked blackened when it arrived it was cooked the same. I don't even know which one was bronzed and which one was blackened. The fish was fresh and delicious and you get to pick 2 sides. My son picked rice and beans and potato wedge, I picked rice and beans and coke slaw. The sides are horrible. The rice and beans do not taste fresh, the rice taste like it's been cooked for a very long time due to its texture. The cole slaw is spoiled and they still serve it, the potato wedge is not crispy and fresh, it's so over soggy. Overall not satisfied with the food but the service was nice. Asked to be seated outside, not a lot of customers inside, left to languish outside. We did get drinks and a menu, that's it. We laid down a $5 to cover the drinks. During this time of covid we could have just hit a drive thru. When we got back in our car, we noticed all the other people had left. Toots you suck at customer service. Not much open on Sunday afternoon in this area of the keys. I tried to place an order online but it wouldn't let me. I went to the restaurant to order. I asked how long the food would take as I was short on time, wanting to enjoy my vacation rather than spend time driving around and looking for food. Food was great, we had the blackened seafood platter, fried pickles and the fish & chips platter delivered to our home. There was an issue with the shrimp size so the lady (red head) who delivered it threw in a slice of key lime pie, which was delicious and she is awesome. Stopped in on our way to our new vacation home in Key West and it was awesome. Great food big portions and the prices were good too. The fresh fish is Definately fresh. Keep hoping the food quality here would improve.. come every 5-6 months and since they did the outside deck and the rona thought I was due to check in. Still bad. Reuben smelled off.. I was really looking forward to breakfast food and unfortunately I arrived a tad too late and realizing that, I knew that no matter how large the menu, being a veg head I would not have a very large selection to choose from. My husband really enjoyed his ginormous Reuben sandwich! My veggie burger, ehhh..... I was really put off by the grilled pineapple with cheese in addition to the funky curry seasoning which I personally NEVER care for. Wish it had been clearly described on the menu! The Bucktooth Rooster was recommended by some friends who live on Big Pine Key. We stopped by for a late lunch/early dinner. We were a party of 10 and were seated right away. Our server, Debbie was cordial and polite. She took our drink orders and we were drinking our cold refreshing beverages shortly thereafter. The food was delicious and their portions can easily be shared by 2 people. We had lobster rolls, Philly cheesesteak, Mahi tacos, hot dog, chicken salad sandwich and a chicken enchilada. When we arrived we were told just to wait 40 minutes no problem. So we sat at bar and had a drink. After 30 minutes they told us the kitchen was closed so they couldn't seat us. This is at 8:20. Then they argued that they never told us they would seat us. I've been to Rooster's many times. Their food is good but service has always been slow but people were nice. So sad.
