We ordered online a pepperoni calzone, spicy wings, and a big pepperoni pizza. Online ordering was easy, arrive inside and had to wait a few more minutes for the food but it wasn't long. The guy who was getting our order never really said much but it was fine. Take it home and dive into the wings.. and they are great! Spicy but not like super crazy Spivey and they were pretty crispy and coated evenly in sauce and it came with ranch. Calzone is good, not amazing or anything but I would get again if I get a hankering for calzone. Finally we get to a slice of pizza.... and it was a huge let down. I wanted a quality pizza, which is why I skipped over Costco, little caesars, dominos etc, but this was not a quality pizza. It tasted like a little caesar pizza, crust was lack luster and flat, toppings were minimal and tasted bland. Over all it was weak pizza. I would always drive pass this place when going to work. Me and my coworkers decided to try this place out. I did have a bad experience at this place because they were busy. One complaint is the worker did not know how to multitask between phone orders and in store orders. I waited in line for a couple of minutes to an half an hour and I left to get food next door. I did try the pizza from my coworkers and it's not bad pizza. There is better hole in the wall pizza out there. This establishment is amazing! We've been coming here for 15 years. Prior owners didn't allow pets on the patio but the new owner does. We are a creature of habit...we always get the chicken parmesan sandwich with fries and the Calzone. It is soooo delicious! The people that work here are very nice and accommodating. If I have a beef with pizza joints, its the use of the size words "large, medium, etc" Just give the diameter, because when you give me a samllish pizza called a large- I just think you're a jerk. Tonight I came in and ordered a half cheese half pepperoni, sausage and olive- shame on me for not checking it before i left, because it was wrong when I got home- all the toppings on all the pizza- my poor son- who only ever wants cheese. The pizza here is better than any frozen pizza- better than costco and a better deal than many other places- I like that the slices stay together- no cheese slide off...like many of the places in La Habra and Whittier. I would give zero stars for the customer service I received this evening. From the manager. The driver "manager" Bercise was very argumentative when I was trying to get my point across. The kids wanted pizza so I looked at yelp and discovered this location. I called to see if they deliver to my residence because I'm about 5 miles north. When they said they couldn't I decided to drive to pick it up. The order is a jumbo cheese pizza, I'm a vegetarian, and the kids like cheese. Pizza is said to be ready in 30 minutes. I drive over, parking sucks, walk in and give my name. The girl at the register asked for payment and walked to the back to get my pizza. I grab some cheese and peppers and walk back to my truck, drive 12 minutes back home. I place the pie on the table, get the plates, lift the lid and it is LOADED with pepperoni. I call right away and explain the dilemma. The girl who answered hand the phone to the driver who is also the manager. I explain to him what happened and he said I can drive back for the refund. I tell him that this was the fault of his incompetent staff, not mine. I told him I understood that he doesn't normally drive this way for deliveries but maybe make an exception since it was not my fault. He said he couldn't. I didn't want a refund, I just wanted what I ordered. I asked to speak to the manager and he said it was him. Going around and around in circles, he said he was not able to assist me. He said I called at a bad time because they are busy so he couldn't help me. So looks like I'm driving back tomorrow to get my refund. I didn't get a receipt, so he said he would tell the day manager. Not sure how if they won't see each other. The manager didn't know what time they opened and didn't know when the owner would be there. I understand everyone makes mistakes,but an establishment not willing to accommodate a customer when the fault is with them can not be a thriving business. Im not 5 cities away, I'm 5 miles away. In the amount of time you took to argue with me, you could have brought me a new pizza. As I mentioned when I spoke with you Bercise, it's not that you can't assist me, it's that you won't. You were not willing to help me. Then you chose to argue with me. I know towards the end of our 10 minute conversation I was not pleasant, but you chose to argue and tell me what I would and wouldn't get. After tonight, I'm done with Big Slice. I placed a delivery order through Yelp and got a confirmation number. No order ever came. For over an hour, their phone was always busy. So I drove down there. They said their internet is down and their phones are down, but then the guy looks on his cell phone and sees my order. He claims it was never confirmed. I have no idea if I've been charged or not. But if he saw that I placed an order, he could have called me or messaged to say that the food wasn't coming. Instead, we were just left hanging. It's not the end of the world, but it was a shitty end to a shitty day. I should have stopped ordering from this place when they stopped allowing half-and-half pizza toppings. Such a gotcha. Like, you have to buy two smaller pizzas when you could have just ordered one slightly bigger one. This was our go-to for pizza delivery for 6 years. The person on the phone told me to take up my complaint with Uber eats. Big slice is true to their name. They offer big greasy slices either cheese or pepperoni. The deal I always get is a 2 topping personal pizza, house salad, and a fountain drink for $7.99. The personal pizza is big! I could only finish half. Great little whole in the wall college spot. They even have tap and bottle beers! My tap beer was only $4.75 for an IPA. They also have a patio. To evaluate Big Slice properly it must be done within its contex, convenient, cornerstore, affordable good tasting pizza. Thier pizza hit me well, i was thinking after I ate it, "there it goes, there it goes again, racing through my brain, and I just can't escape, the feeling that remains. Not a bad pizza for $3, the big slice pizza is basically a big slice of pizza. Thier drink was good too, I had the option of no ice, but next time I will order with ice. The crust was soft, nice dry bread residue on the bottom, ability to do a brooklyn roll or jersey shuffle with it. The pepperoni and cheese were good, not Gondola Pizza good but beats up Domino's & pizza hut any day. I have heard bad things about the sauce (disclaimer: I liked the sauce, but, I have a diverse sauce liking palette) This place was not huge, there is a bit of parking in the front and in the back. A big screen television was playing a movie. They had this cool wall with peoples name on it. They have a huge menu on the wall with its regular items. They also have a lunch special for students for $2 which features a slice and a drink. I did not see a bathroom but it is on a major street in Downtown Fullerton near Chapman so you will find one if needed. The girl working there was very freindly, she was warm like the pizza and sweet like the coke. When I left I hopped on the streets to the freeway nearby. What I like about big slice is that it is a great place to go and hang out with all your friends when everyone is broke or you all want to get together mid afternoon on Sunday Funday. There are great specials and they have some pretty decent beer on tap. I love taking over the whole patio with the gang and taking turns buying pitcher after pitcher. I have been going to big slice for years. When I lived right by it, I would walk down there and take it to go. Another thing worth mentioning is one of my closest friends Matt used to work there back in the day and it is still one of his favorite places to go to get some pizza.
