Ran into this place completely by accident, and I'm glad we did. We ordered the garlic knots, cheese pizza, salty white clam pizza, and baked ziti. Everything tasted like it came straight from your grandmother's kitchen in the old country. The cheese pizza is hands down the best I've had in SoCal. Simple, perfectly done, and exactly what a great cheese pizza should be. The salty white clam pizza was incredible, rich, perfectly salted, and packed with flavor without being overpowering or overdone. Every bite was on point. The baked ziti tasted like a legit family recipe. Deep, comforting flavors and seriously nostalgic. You can tell there's history behind the food here. This instantly became one of our favorite spots. The service was great and everyone was super friendly. We started asking about the history of the place, and they gave us the full rundown, which made the experience even better. We entered the place and it smelled like bad bathroom pipes. We ordered and got some bread which was okay. It was so quiet inside. No music, no television. Just the sound of appliances going. We got the meat ravioli, the bolognese gnocchi and the meatballs. The food was exactly what we ordered. Just food. You aren't missing anything and I can't explain it well enough. It's just what it is. Italian food. It filled us up, which is what food is suppose to do. I guess what I'm trying to say is that you aren't missing anything by not trying this place. We ate it but felt nothing afterwards. If you want good Italian food with unique recipes, look elsewhere. Otherwise, you get what you get here. Just generic Italian food, nothing special. The cook/chef guy looked like he knew what he was doing but I really wanted to try something that he would cook. It felt like he was forced to cook exactly how the owners want it. I would like to start my review and say that I was hungry when I arrived, so my hungriness' was up. When we arrived, there was only one table seated. The one waitress was on her phone when we walked in and seemed kind of bothered that we were interrupting. The location is kind of small so parties of 4+ might have an issue with seating. They didn't have a sampler "TOUR" like other restaurants, and I decided to go with the Fettucine Alfredo with Chicken, Side Meatballs and side salad. This is when the restaurant started getting busy. The salad arrived was less than to be desired and there was barely any dressing. She then dropped off the Meatballs that were cold and I asked to please send them back. Needless to say I was becoming slightly agitated due to being hungry. Then my main dish ordered was not Chicken Alfredo. The other people at my table said that their dishes were amazing. I was like, ill believe it when it comes. I am happy to say that when the dish arrived it was everything that I wanted, and she brought back the meatballs that were warm and her attitude seemed to improve as things got busier and the experience finished very well. We dined in this time, and the wall has New York plastered all over it lol I knew this place was affiliated with New York somehow! I could taste it in the food. It's delicious. The service was reflective of New York also. New Yorkers are very blunt and to the point. Sometimes service can come off as short or rude, but it's just the culture. I had the same experience at Luigi's D' Italia. The waitress we had was very short and blunt with her service. At first, I thought, wow- bad service. Then I remembered how New Yorkers are and realized that she is probably from there lol The food is very good. I love the pizza and pesto pasta. My husband loved the baked ziti and the Carbonara. Entering the restaurant, there was a smell, like the bathroom pipes are bad. We went at about 230 and the food was not good, as though it was left over and reheated. Soup broth good, vegetables overcooked. Chicken fettuccine was overhauled. Stouffers frozen meal tasted fresher. The bread was under toasted and flavorless. Had to make the 50 mile drive from south country. We used to love the old location on Lincoln in Anaheim many years ago. The food was pretty close to the old location, but the menu was not so extensive which is not unusual for small place. We miss Dominick who used to walk around with his wine glass ,half loaded and yelling . The waitress at the new place took our order and really showed no personality. She is an inland if I understand correctly. It's a shame if you want to remember the vibe of the old place, but the food helped to make up for her lack. read more

I enjoy Luigi's and have been a customer since they were located on Lincoln in Anaheim. Lost track of them after the State College location closed but was happy to see that they landed in Fullerton. This was our first visit since Luigi's relocated from Anaheim, and the food is just as amazing as we remembered! The calamari is a must-try, every dish we ordered was delicious, and the cannolis are perfect to take home and enjoy with a cup of coffee. The owners are kind and welcoming. We really hope more people discover this new location; it would be a shame to see it close. We even said that they should move to our city so we could eat there all the time! read more

I've been coming here to Luigi's since I moved to Fullerton at the beginning of 2020! You all know the restaurants and proprietors we were full of hope that they would make it through the pandemic, Luigi's was top of my list! This is a family run establishment from the boot of Italy, and I mean the whole family! They moved here to Fullerton back in 2016 from their restaurant in Anaheim and I have met many of their beautiful customers from the old place; they have quite the following! Every day, along with their regular menu of pasta, pizza, sandwiches and salads, they offer daily specials of authentic Italian dishes that are so unique I guarantee you haven't seen them on any menu in this area! The ambiance is typical Italian diner with red and white checkered tablecloths and soft music and the latest sports game on both tv's. The family serves you with all smiles and really aim to please. I was underwhelmed with this place. I've never had it before and my girlfriend bought me the fettuccine della casa pasta with garlic bread for a long distance date night using DoorDash. The most sad thing was the garlic bread, which was laughable. Whoever was working last night just took a store bought loaf and put it in the bag. Plain. Uncut. No garlic, no oil, nothing. Extremely low effort. The pasta itself was so-so at best. The chicken was cut in very small chunks and was dry, but edible. The pasta tasted primarily of the cream and ham. The peas did virtually nothing for the dish and the salt was coming only from the ham. If they put parmesean in the dish it was undetectable, no discernible garlic or herbs either. After an initial taste, I had to add parmesean, garlic and seasoning at home to the dish at home just to help it along. The meal was delivered warm and quickly, so they definitely moved fast, but what I got was rather disappointing and I won't recommend people this place in the future if this is the quality they can expect. read more

I recently had a not so great experience at this restaurant with some disappointing food and customer service, but I have to give credit where it's due. After my visit, management reached out to me personally to apologize and really took the time to listen to what went wrong. They were professional, understanding, and genuinely seemed to care about making things right. They offered to make up for the experience and invited me back, which I truly appreciated. It's not always about mistakes never happening, but about how a business responds when they do, and in this case, they showed great customer service and accountability. Because of that, I'm willing to give them another chance and I appreciate the effort they made to turn a negative experience into a positive one. A full refund was also given. read more

Wanted to try this local Italian restaurant so gave it a try today. Ordered the lasagna , linguini imperiale, and a mini cheese pizza. The pizza was nice and hot. The linguini had good flavors but the pasta was a bit undercooked. The lasagna had good flavor also but the dish was cold in the middle that was a bit of a downer. Service was good. read more

Came here for an early dinner Saturday night, and we got a table inside for 4 with no wait. There is only a bit of seating inside, and two tables outside. Bread basket was warm and fresh! I forgot the names of the pasta my friends ordered, but everything was made fresh, flavorful, and so yummy. My favorite dish was the tortellini, the sauce is so flavorful and they do not skimp on protein here. All portions are huge and very filling! My one regret is not getting the calamari, we saw a plate on the side and it looked and smelled so good, will definitely come back just for the calamari. read more

If you like your food nice and hot the entire meal, they do it right with the plating for temperature throughout the meal. One thing I think they need to elevate is the complimentary garlic bread, was dry and really not very good. We tried the Calamari full order, was made with fresh Squid and was very good. We also ordered linguini with creamy clams and that was superb. Only issue with our order was Pollo Marsala was supposed to be served over angel hair (which my mom's favorite pasta) instead came served over rigatoni which is a very grainy pasta vs angel hair. I ordered pizza for the first time. I'm so happy I did. We ordered a large with mushrooms, garlic and pepperoni. I asked for sausage. We loved it. No joke we ate the whole dang pizza. Next time we will try different toppings. It's been very quiet at Luigi's, I don't get it. I'm glad there is an Italian restaurant near me. I think it's so important to SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL BUSINESSES. We have been eating at luigi's d' italia since they were on state college I ordered the Fettuccine Della Casa the Fettuccine Noodles of what there were was over cooked the sauce was broken overwhelming amounts of bacon chucks with canned mushrooms (which should be fresh) making it gray in color and very salty, the bacon, peas and mushroom are meant to be a garnish . My Daughter ordered the Kid's Fettuccine Alfredo It was same broken sauce also gray in color as if they used the same sauce for both meals. she ended up eating half of my wife's meatball sandwich which was lacking sauce.
