I'm new to the Fullerton area and work from home. I was craving pizza for lunch, so I ordered for the first time today using Eat24. I chose the delivery time to be a specific time, and Big Slice was prompt! I ordered a pepperoni pizza with basil. I LOVE pizza with fresh basil. The pizza was a bit small, but very tasty. I like their crust: it's chewy. And today the leftover pizza was AMAZING. I also ordered mozzarella sticks. They were a bit on the salty side, but better than most places. I will definitely order from Big Slice again sometime. Better yet, I will visit their restaurant and dine-in because it's super close. read more

I went to Big Slice for the wednesday night $1 beer. I should have eaten before coming here. The pizza was pretty nasty, and it took a really damn long time for me to get my food. I actually had to remind the lady working that I had ordered pizza, as she had been serving people who had ordered after me before I had gotten my food. My friend and I also had pretty savage stomach aches about an hour after we ate there. My dad and my brother had been their twice before to get slices and they said they had no slices both times. They're called big slice- they should probably serve them. probably. the dollar beer gives it two stars though. i wouldn't recommend it though. read more

I would have more than likely given this place 2 stars if not for the incredibly awesome deal they had going. Student Special: a slice and a drink for $2. Kinda hard to beat something that cheap, even if the pizza was the very definition of mediocre. The crust was passable, though a tad too doughy for my taste - not enough crunch. The sauce was pretty 'meh'. It's akin to something I'd expect to buy on sale at Ralph's for home use. You know, the cheap stuff. The cheese could have been removed and molded like clay into tiny animal sculptures; it was like putty. But a little cheese/red pepper assisted in masking some of the blase flavoring. It's not the worst slice I've eaten (see my review for Naples Ristorante @ Downtown Disney for that), but I'd say it's just about worth the $2 I paid. Pretty good pizza and decent prices. It's kind of a staple of Downtown Fullerton, and not a bad place to hang out despite being a small location. There are always a few TVs going and a little outside patio area with billiards. However, there is usually some sort of issue getting the food. If you order through their app or website, expect at least 15-20 minutes tacked on to the ETA they give you. I ordered through their website recently and was charged again when I went in to pickup my order, despite showing the cashier my email receipt. Now I have to go in again to get a refund. Honestly, I like their food and supporting local restaurants over the terrible pizza chains, but I never have these problems with the chains, so... Each time there's an issue or extended wait, it makes it less likely I'll be back. Sorry, Big Slice. Step up your game. read more

So I've been inside big slice multiple times (I live in Fullerton) and their service has always been "just okay". Their food is "just okay". The place across the street has better desserts at a cheaper price. Big slice delivers, so on this night, I decided to order in. I looked on the website and there was an ad stating "be our fan on facebook and receive 30% off". I called and much to my dismay the girl taking my order stated there is no such offer. Someone called the other day stating the same and the manager said there is no offer. I asked to speak to the manager who conveniently was not in and the girl did not know when he would be. Visited this place yesterday since it's right next to my school and offers free WIFI. I ordered their special: slice of pizza, side salad, and drink for $5 and also an order of fries to share with my sister WHICH WERE DELICIOUS! the pizza slice was huge- the crust was my favorite but the pizza itself was pretty average, but even average pizza is amazing lol. i liked that they had an outside patio for smoking. the man working offered to turn on the heating lamps multiple times which was nice! i noticed they also had a pool table and TV which were covered since they weren't being used. the music was perfect for me too! they played stuff like The Doors and some bands off Burger Records like The Cosmonauts :) really enjoyed the vibe. definitely going back to study and maybe play some pool before/after class! This actually should be a 2.9 Had the the supreme large and to be quite honest i was disappointed. I had it for take-out so that might make a difference. when i entered inside, it seemed to be a nice spot in downtown fullerton. But the pizza? I expected a lot more than this. I have had pizza from NY, NJ, and PA. Those states know how to make pizzas. I even had deep dish from chicago. They are known for their pizza. But this place? it was just average. I don't know how else to describe it. It's great in California sense of pizza, and it's filling, etc. but i dont know how you can compare this to NY pizza. (I'm not trying to hate on the Westside. i was raised in California. so i am disappointed coming here to find out it cant compete with eastcoast pizza. sigh...keep searching i guess... but overall not bad pizza...just can't be compared to eastcoast pizzas. read more

Just moved to the area and looking for a place that would deliver. First the good, the portions are ginormous. I had the chicken mushroom fettuccine and the chicken parm both were very good and had good flavor, The only suggestion I'd give them would be add more sauce on both they were a bit dry and I would have liked to use the garlic cheese bread to sop up any extra sauce but the problem was there wasn't even enough sauce for the pasta. Also they seemed a little under staffed and was put on hold and forgotten and had to call back. Update from my last review. Everyone I've dealt with either on the phone or delivery people are extremely polite and friendly, they seem very genuine. I ordered the chicken mushroom fettuccine again and they were more than happy to accommodate my request of more sauce. I also ordered a large pepperoni pizza and it was very good, I can't say its the best I've had but I wouldn't hesitate to refer any of my friends to order from Big Slice. Been coming here for close to 15 years. I love their pizza. The crust is awesome. Their wings are really good and they have some good salad choices for healthier minded folks. I have gotten pizza from this restaurant twice now in the last few weeks. Last night's pizza was excellent which was surprising since great pizza in this area is hard to find. I got mushroom and sausage. There were lots of toppings and cheese and very fresh. The crust is good but needs a little more time in the oven. I asked for that but still not crispy enough. I will ask for more done next time, again. The restaurant is clean. The service was excellent both times. I called in both times for pickup. I spoke to a very helpful and pleasant women. She said the pizza would be ready in 15 or 20 minutes. I got to the restaurant 15 minutes later and the pizza was ready both times. The prices were in line with all the other pizza places. On any given Wednesday you can catch a slew of regulars at Big Slice due to dollar beer HH! It's a great spot to hang out, grab some cheap beer and the pizza is pretty tasty too. If I had one complaint about Big Slice it's that the pizza is a little pricey for my taste when right across the street there is Angelo's whos pizza is WAY better and roughly the same price. The outdoor patio can fill up quickly so if you're partial to sitting outside make sure you get there early on Wednesdays. I don't go there much outside of that so i can't vouch for any other day. As for parking if you can't grab anything on Harbor (which most can't) you can park in the parking lot for the burger joint or in the residental area next to the slice, I never have a problem finding parking around there. In my experience every visit to "The Slice" is always a pleasant one. read more

I stroll in here from time to time. I like the food. I think it's cornmeal they use in the pizza dough, whatever it is I like it. They make a great antipasta salad, always plenty of salami, provolone and fresh veggies. The dressings are house made, fresh and very good. A decent selection of draught and bottled beer. We order our pizza here because first they delivered and it's closer to our house, and it cheaper than Mamaluccos in Brea. We have to order it with extra sauce, otherwise, the pizza is too dry and doesn't taste as good. We have been coming here and eating outside the patio with our dogs. We went there last night with our dogs, and before we even can come up, this rude white chick just told us NO Animals allowed! What? When did you change your policy? The guy who used to be in the counter would let us in without hassling us! The whole place was virtually empty, and they turned down us down???? So, from now on, we are going to Mamaluccos in Brea, where the Pizza and is 100% much tastier and this place! Also, Mamaluccos has a much better patio and the service is excellent. Yelp says they deliver to my address now which is awesome because I hate driving into downtown fullerton. I've dined in before, service was decent and the staff was friendly. However, the seating is limited and had to split a party of four because of a woman taking a 6 person table or sit outside on the patio with the smokers, which would have been fine had I not had two kids under 10 with me. I came in here just for dessert and ended up coming back to get pizza on a different day! when you walk in the place reminds me of an old style pizza place. Small place great in price! They have a pool table. Pizza is good I love the crust! They always have specials! Like 50 cent wings on Tuesday! There tiramisu is moist! Its a little small. I LURV there calzones! (is that how you spell it?) I'm more of "eh" on there pizza slices, because I'm not the biggest "pizza" person out there. But there calzones, err mahh geerr. They're so geeeeewdd. They're HUGE, and you can definitely get a second meal from your calzone. I love the spices they put on it and with the marinara sauce they give you on the side, it's just superb. My only thing is is that it is filled sometimes (a lot) with drunk/buzzed/annoying college students who think being loud is the new cool. So that can get annoying pretty fast. But if you go there before people get out of their classes for the day (usually before 4-ish) it's pretty okay and kinda quiet. I love the calzones here and will continue to get them. I suggest if you wish to try this place, go in person, even if it's just for carry out, because I've ordered from them before and the order was all wrong. This used to be my favorite pizza place in town, but after tonight, I won't be ordering here anymore. I placed an order for delivery at 8:55pm. I prepaid with my debit card and a 20% tip. I got a confirmation email, with a quote of 45 minutes for delivery. At 10pm I started calling, wondering where my delivery was. I kept calling, with no answer, and my debit card had been charged. Finally at 10:15, my boyfriend had enough and got in his car, and began to drive to Big Slice. He circled the block and found the driver just sitting in his car. He flagged him down, and he and the driver finally delivered out food together. Finally, I take a bite, and the pizza is so undercooked I can't even eat it. Just soggy and doughy. Now my pizza is in my oven, and I'm hoping it will be acceptable enough to eat soon. I won't be ordering from Big Slice again. read more

We've ordered from here once before and had no problems. Today, we ordered and were told to pick up at 4:15. When we arrived, there was no one at the desk. My husband had to call them for them to run out. He could see our order placed on the wall. They said the pizza's will be done soon. Then the woman spit her gum into her napkin and went to go make the pizza. He said he didn't see her wash her hands. They hadn't even made the pizza's yet! It wasn't busy, there was no one else there. Theu were just chatting in the back the entire time. We waited over 30 minutes, since arriving to pick it up. I understand things happen, but this is ridiculous. We live 10 minutes away and when we got home, the pizza wasn't even hot. It was lukewarm. I'm so disappointed, because the pizza was delicious last time and the service was amazing. Not this time. Such a bummer. read more
