We purchased two vehicles from Big Star Buick GMC within days of each other, a new 1500 Sierra Denali and a used Yukon XL Denali, a significant investment made in good faith, especially with a baby on the way. What followed was one of the most mismanaged and dishonest buying experiences I have ever encountered. The problems started immediately. The Yukon XL was delivered with a rusted tire imprint on the leather seat, caused by a tire that had been stored inside the car. We were told it would be removed. When we came back to pick up the car, it was still there. We later learned from our own detailer that the damage was permanent, something the dealership almost certainly already knew. Because the trade-in paperwork was not processed in a timely manner, we were forced to make double payments, covering both the new vehicle and the old one simultaneously. That cost us real money due to their administrative failure. When the Yukon XL was presented to us, the brake system was actively alerting that the vehicle needed service. Our sales rep Mike claimed it had been taken back and fixed. It had not been fixed. The alert had simply been disabled. When I called this out, Mike issued a "we owe" document acknowledging the brake system still needs proper service. That document has yet to be presented or honored. We were also promised a second key for the Yukon XL. The dealership's own buyer confirmed there was a second key with the previous seller and that they were in the process of obtaining it for us. Two months later, I followed up and Mike walked back the entire commitment, claiming he had only promised to "locate" a key, not actually deliver one. We have text messages that tell a different story. To summarize: we are still without a second key, and we are still waiting for Big Star Buick GMC to honor their own written commitment so our vehicle can be properly serviced. Both remain unresolved. What appeared to be a good deal turned out to be a series of half-truths, deferred problems, and broken promises. If you are looking for a straightforward, honest car buying experience, look elsewhere. read more

Very poor management. We agreed on a price for a car and I told them I would like 24 hours to think. I came back the next day and they upped the price $2000 on me. They told me that was yesterday's price and no longer valid. I rarely leave bad reviews, but this experience was frustrating enough to speak up. I came in for a simple oil change, and when I got my car back, the oil change light was still on. I went back the next day and spoke with the manager, and he said he'd check it out. The conversation was about checking the dipstick to see if there was oil. From what I could see, it looked empty. Then he told me he'd have to drain the oil into a bucket and charge me again just to check it. I asked, "If there's no oil, are you going to replace my motor?"--and he just stayed quiet. That silence said it all. Completely unprofessional and sketchy. I won't be coming back and I definitely wouldn't recommend this place to anyone who values honest or competent service. read more

Bought a new truck on 6/16/25 with the promise the paperwork would be sent to Florida right away. We called for updates and were flat-out lied to, told it was sent when it wasn't. They didn't bother sending it until 7/31, over a month later, which got my father's license suspended on 8/5 for "no insurance," even though we were fully insured. Here we are 8/07, still no paperwork and the paper tag expires on 8/15. Their laziness, dishonesty, and total lack of accountability has now caused us legal issues. Update to my review of another experience. Back in early November 2023, I brought in my very new car about electronics not working. I was told that the part would have to be ordered. Pretty much called once a month to find out the status of the part. I was told it was on back order so it would take a while. I understood it was out of their control. Well when I went in on April 9th 2024, I ask about the part again but now told by parts the part I'm stating was never ordered. So clearly upset. Both my husband and myself go to the dealership to talk to someone in person because I've been left on hold now for 20 minutes. When I get there they tell me that the previous parts manager was let go and there is a new person which he was very nice and came to explain. For some reason my order was cancelled, I wasn't told when it was cancelled just it was cancelled. So I'm clearly upset. The lady Victoria was very helpful and understood my frustration. She let me know she would handle it and when the part came in let me know immediately. The customer service of the people is great but the follow through is what I have concerns with...I'll update once I get my part I've been waiting for since November. read more

Dishonest. They tell you one price over the phone and over email, and then add $3,999 to the price after you drive to the dealership. They lie and tell you it's "optional aftermarket add on's that they add to every car they sell." The best part is that the sales guy tried to tell me he'd "throw in a bedliner." Turns out, the bedliner was supposed to be part of the lame $3,999 aftermarket add on package they force you into. So no, he wasn't throwing in a single thing. Also nobody wants the junk you claim is an add on. Especially the etched windows. So just stop with that nonsense. They are dishonest. Do NOT agree to this extra cost. Insist that it's removed and if they won't, go somewhere else. Also they only gave me one key, after trying to say they "gave it to me in a white envelope." They did not. Then I've had to ask for the second key multiple times and have yet to receive it. They ate and spilled food in the drivers seat, and dirtied my seats while installing the bedliner. Don't Trust On 6/28/24 I took my vehicle in for an oil change since I had bought the Advantage Care during my first service. While I was waiting on the service, I went to the finance department to inquire about an extended warranty with Fernando. He instructed me I would need to talk to one of the other gentlemen in the other two offices. I waited for around 20-30 minutes and Fernando invited me back in to his office. I stated I had a Denali with 19k miles on it that I would like to get an extended warranty for. He told me since I am a couple of months past the manufacturer warranty, they would need me to schedule to bring my truck back for a 3 day detailed inspection prior to providing me with information or pricing on an extended warranty. I said thank you and left his office. He could have told me he didn't have time or wasn't interested in selling me an extended warranty. Then I went to service and waited on my truck. One hour and twenty minutes my truck was ready. I was told the oil was changed, inspection complete, tires rotated and oil changed. The tires were marked by me and never rotated. I explained to the service tech the same thing happened last time and they had to take it back to rotate the tires and never reset the sensors. I explained I would take my truck to Discount to get the tires rotated so I knew it was done right. I went to leave and the lock to the rims was out of the glovebox and on the console, giving the perception they had used it when they never did. I went back in and voiced my displeasure with the service department. Now I wonder if they just give the perception they change the oil but don't. Do they just take the vehicles to the back, do nothing but wash them and bring them back after a long wait. I will never trust them with my vehicle. If they can prove in two visits they will not provide the service you are paying for, then they can't be trusted for other oil changes or major work! They checked my credit after that I was told that the price had increased 10k because it had just arrived; And that they had two more buyers waiting to buy it. After I was told the price was 95k before I arrived to the dealer. Very disappointed in the way they get their clients in and waste our time. I did not purchase the truck for 10k over asking price when the online price when it was 95k and they were asking 105k I thought that was crazy and I was being taking advantage of. First off brought my vehicle in for a simple battery change. They told me it was going to take 5 days to even diagnose it. They promised me they could warranty it out from the last time they changed my battery less than a year ago. Then when I asked how long the warranty was for they said I didn't purchase a battery there. They then proceeded to say I wasn't allowed to warranty my battery because I could have another problem going on with my vehicle but wouldn't be able to tell me until the 5 days they need to diagnose it. Another thing it is very unprofessional for one of your advisors to talk bad about me a PAYING customer who has been coming up there for years with my vehicle. Had a great buying experience from Big Star Buick BMC. Was greeted promptly upon arrival by a Mr. Dexter and i later discover this was the new sales manager. This eased my buying experience because if a manager takes the time and points a customer in the right direction instead of "being to busy," it shows me this is a great customer friendly establishment! After he heard and addressed my interest he was able to point me in the direction of Mr. Alex. I gave him my request and they told me they'd keep an eye out. Not even 2weeks went by. and I received a courteous call, and they asked if I was still in the market. Updating my review: I was mistaken about the torquing of the lug nuts. The impact uses a torque limiter. I requested that they use a torque wrench to true the lug nuts and they did. I will return, and next time I hope that they get the IT support they need in case the WAN goes down. read more

Let me start at the beginning. We brought in our car 1 month ago on 6/20/23 to have a list of things we wanted to have checked out. Tim was our advisor. He said it should be a couple weeks given the list we gave him. One of the things to check was the A/C. Now let me tell you that prior to bringing the car in there was some liquid that was spilled on the A/C-radio control panel so that was not working. So there was no way to control the A/C at all. Tim said that part was discontinued through Buick. He said to Austin Radio and Speedometer downtown to have the A/C/Radio control head control panel cleaned and repaired. We called that place and they said since the spill was done 2 months ago that the whole panel needed to be replaced and that is what we did all in the same day of picking up our car today 7/20/23. We got the control panel part and had it installed and everything comes on but the A/C IS NOT BLOWING COLD! Now on the invoice it says 3.5 hours of labor to replace the condenser and evac, dye check and charged the system. Total labor and parts $577.50. It even says "test drove to confirm repair" on the invoice Job 12 on page 3 and 4. Yes I know you can't tell if its working if the control panel is not working but why say its fixed when you can't turn it on to begin with?? So my point being is that we were told it was fixed and charged for a fixed and working A/C and it is NOT WORKING. It blows only hot air! Joe the service manager, when we came back the 2nd time said "that how can we fix the A/C if you can't turn it on?" Also he even told me" why are you rolling your eyes?" We just spent $6148.67 there and took it there because we were under the impression that the service department that is supposed to have CERTIFIED TECHNICIANS and have most of the parts there plus the car was purchased there before it became BigStar. When we got the car back the inside had black marks on the inside door panel, some brown dried up liquid on the dash and driver door and dusty on inside. There was still plastic stuck to outside door and roof as well. I am very disappointed in the service and the way I was treated. I was also told by Joe that anything else that needed to be done to the A/C I would have to come out of pocket for. I was never called and asked if i wanted the leaking condenser fixed. I only told Tim I wanted the A/C working. If the A/C couldn't be fixed while the controls were not working then why attempt to fix the A/C without first the controls working??? Also Tim promised us for 2 weeks that it would be done in 1 or 2 days that it would be ready when obviously he had no time table on when it would be fixed and it still is not fixed for what I brought it in for. I am asking for a refund of the $577.50 so I can take my car and get the job done the correct way No refund! read more

Terrible dealership. VINCENT PIERRE || IS THE WORST!! sold me a car with a key that only unlocks the car manually. I called him 15 minutes after realizing it and leaving the dealership and he told me it was just the battery, and if I replaced it, it would work. No big deal I think, but that's kinda poor service, that they couldn't just fix it for me SEEING AS I JUST SPENT 15k on a car!!! Whatever tho, I'll get a battery and clean my hands of this I thought.Bought battery ,does not work. Call Vincent, ask him to make this right. He starts acting like I may have possibly broken it and says it worked fine for him, we play phone tag, he acts like a jerk and does anything but help. I get caught up in work for a few weeks. Lock my keys in my car ( the car key is SUPPOSED to have a mechanism that prevents the car from locking with the key inside ). Call Vincent , he tells me I have to pay for the key ( not cheap ). TLDR , im convinced he knowingly sold me a car with a broken key and pretended like he didn't , then he sent me on a wild goose chase . Now he says too much time has passed and he would have fixed it earlier .. I called him about this 15 minutes after leaving the dealership. SALESMEN LIKE VINCENT ARE THE REASON CAR SALESMAN HAVE SUCH A WRETCHED REPUTATION!!, steer clear , horrible experience. When I call management they say , "well why don't you come in " I DONT WANT TO COME IN, I WANT MY KEY!! bad business bad, no horrid business. Salesman was nice enough and while the initial pricing was terrible they become competitive on the "vehicle" after I requested best price. Problem was they have $2500 in dealer adds which is a joke! All overpriced (and of course they are willing to give a big discount (like down to $1250-1,400)....but of course that is because of the humongous mark up) and not one would I had bought if it was just "offered". Will try some other GMC dealers and will hope for a better experience. Excellent customer service in the service department! I brought my truck with me from the Paris area while on a job and left it for recall repairs. The service department was fast, thorough and very friendly. They took my wife back to the hotel, did the repairs and even picked her up and took her back when they were finished. When I called the service desk's via the main number they had me on hold for 45 minutes and then hung up on me. When I arrived Service Advisors were observed fraternizing with the techs, one was even on his phone probably using social media. I have recently been interested in purchasing a new GMC truck. Utilizing the GMC build option on the internet, my new vehicle was designed and priced with MSRP. Utilizing this information, Big Star was contacted with the request, here's the online build with MSRP, what will you sell it for? After a few back and forth emails with Ezequiel, I finally get the sales manages email. Same request sent to him with copy of GMC build. I finally get a response from sales manager Dexter "Unfortunately, I cannot give you exact pricing on a build until the vehicle arrives." I find his answer strange due to the fact I order things all time with pricing and long delivery. Guess that's how new car sales work these days. Now today I get email from General Manager "I want to make sure that my team and I are helping you find the perfect vehicle, so please let us know if there is anything specific we can help you with."
