I have been an avid customer and promoter for Toyota and Honda for years now. I've owned almost exclusively Toyota or Honda as in my personal opinion they wrote the book for longevity, cheap maintenance, etc. My latest vehicle is a Toyota Rav4 Prime so Ive been dealing with Community Toyota only as this is who I purchased the vehicle through. I bought this vehicle brand new 3 years ago now. Starting at 6 months, I was with a long time service manager who regularly assisted me with my vehicle. I had issues with my internal car GPS starting around this time and had to have 2 different updates which still never fixed the issue. I had tried several times over the next year to 2 years to schedule and get this fixed but due to the extremely high turnover, calls/messagest/etc were never returned, everyone always was new and had no idea how to proceed. I can safely say this is when Toyota began going downhill for me, 6months after purchasing the vehicle. I cannot speak in reagrd for other locations, I can only speak to the Baytown location, specifically Community Toyota. I have now dealt with over 7 different managers, over 13 different advisors. The only one who has been there longest now and has been most helpful is Jordan Nestor and is the only reason I keep giving Community Toyota a chance but at this point I am done and this needs to be reviewed publicly. I tried resolving these issues - never having calls answered, never getting calls back, never getting my gps fixed and now it's no longer under warranty, pricing being SIGNIFICANTLY HIGHER than Community Honda when they are the same branch of Community and both in Baytown not far from each other! Guys this is ridiculous. I now have to pre schedule maintenance for my vehicle through Community Honda because: they actually respond to calls and call you back if not. They actually help to resolve issues. They actually work with you. They have decent pricing as well. Community Toyota gets one star and it's for Jordan Nestor. The business itself is zero stars. This is beyond ridiculous how long I've been an avid customer and how long I've tried to resolve SEVERAL issues just to be ignored and have to come to this point. My next car due to service and handling of Community Toyota as a business itself will be a Honda. And that, is just sad. read more

Bad experience. It's not the sales Manager Vince, but it's the individual s he hire to perform repair services. This is a second chance I gave this place based on past experiences. EP was such a nice sales person, this is the only reason I made a purchase there. 5000 miles service, I gave one star because the workers changed my vehicle's settings and seat position, they left oily tissue and oil under my seat in a new vehicle. They did not even provide a compliment car wash or vacuum the vehicle. You will say that those people are concerned about their customers. No! Vince called me this morning concerning the low scores survey, I told him it's the service I received , it's not him, but he did not want to hear that if the score is reflective of your job, you should communicate closely with your workers. Secondly I do not do surveys, but because I was displeased and I had to engage in the application of resetting the system back to how it was I found it very fitting to issue a very low grade to the survey. I spend a lot of money in this vehicle and I cannot allow people to oil it up . Vince's failure not to listen to my plea about alignment. He initially told me it was good and coming to find out it was not. I mean, a lack of accountability. I know what I feel. Then he is telling me to give in a call before I complete the survey next time so the workers can get it right. No, they should get it right the first time. He needs to reside that they gave to sell customers quality products that meet expectations. So little time ; issues have emerged. Again, sent a driver to pick me up and over 30 mins nobody showed up. Standing out in the cold, had to call back, then his excuse was they had many pic ups. Utilize more drivers . It is very important to try to keep customers happy especially when this dealership was given a second change by me. I just needed a vehicle and this is why I made a local purchase, I endured significant hardships too by their sales persons. So overall they are a force to be reckoned with. Then Vince is stating that their vehicle washing equipment was broken. What do we do: COMMUNICATE! This is a critical component in any relationship especially when there is high competition. If I can rate 0 star I would. Don't bring your Lexus here for repair unless you have no another option. I brought my Lexus with no start/no crank On 4/21. They called and told me the battery was bad but I used it to start my Highlander. They couldn't even tell me the code from the OBD. The reason was it can't be scan because it won't start. 2nd time had to go there the starter was replaced same thing the battery was bad but I used the battery to start my Highlander. I asked about the code again from the OBD and said that I have to pay for another scan. So this morning 4/29 I went to get the Lexus and brought it to SAR (Safe Auto Repair) here at North Main Baytown and before noon they were able to fix it. Nice people and know what they're doing. DO NOT USE THIS DEALERSHIP! Over the last 7 months I have had 3 catastrophic failures on my Tacoma due to workmanship at this dealership. In January I went in for a simple coolant fluid change and the service tech didn't tighten the radiator cap, leaving me on the side of the freeway with my child, requiring a tow. Two months later, I went in for a spark plug change and was quoted $970. During the service, the service tech dropped a broken piece of the plug into the cylinder, then cranked the engine after completion, resulting in a DESTROYED engine. They admitted fault, but the service manager immediately tried to take the cheapest way out by either replacing it with a used engine with similar miles (history of engine unknown) or repairing the damage (after failing to perform a spark plug change). When I spoke with the service manager in person, he acted if as if he was doing me a favor and even stated, "at least you're not putting miles on your own vehicle." It wasn't until I called Toyota Corporate that they offered a new short block and used head. They also recommended extra parts which with labor totaled over $3K. Something that wouldn't have been needed had the engine not been ruined. They kept my truck for 2.5 months and gave me a 12 month/12k mile warranty. After a month of having my truck back, I started having stalling and shaking issues. I decided to take it to a different dealership who stated was a warranty issue due to workmanship and diagnosed the issue as incorrect hardware on the high pressure fuel pump. Due to it being a workmanship issue, Community Toyota would have to work on it, so they towed it back and a few days later, they call and tell me I would have to pay for a new fuel pump! When I asked about the hardware they stated that the service tech did not install the incorrect size bolts but that the other dealership misdiagnosed the problem. But I only had issues after they worked on it and the last person to touch that part, was their tech! If you value your vehicle, money, and safety, DO NOT use this dealership. There is zero credibility and transparency at the service department here. The service manager, Allyn, is useless and they are impossible to get ahold of. You're better off going directly to corporate to get a call back. They ruined a perfectly good truck and continue to make it worse. read more

The Service Center was unprofessional and unsatisfactory. The Service Advisor did not inform me that a lift and mechanic were not available for my service when I arrived for my appointment the Service Advisor set up. The Service Advisor did not honestly keep me informed of the status of my service while I waited. The Service Advisor lied to me about the status of my service. I was not informed in a timely manner when my vehicle service was completed and ready for pick up. The Service Advisor was Emely. Service required was Perform Recall on low pressure fuel pump. I set up the Recall fuel pump replacement appointment with the Service Advisor in person the week before during a scheduled maintenance job per the Advisor suggestion. I told the Advisor I would wait during the Perform Recall service. I was told previously the job would take 3 to 4 hours at most. I asked the Advisor for a good date and time for them to schedule my appointment while I waited for the Recall service to be performed. The Advisor accepted a Tuesday April 29 at 10 am appointment. I expected a mechanic, and the required lift would be available to do the job shortly after my appointment time. I arrived and checked in for my appointment at 9:39 am April 29. I informed the Advisor again that I was waiting. I finally departed the Community Service Center over 7 hours later, after 4:40 pm. A summary of the issue is that my vehicle was not worked on until about 4 hours after my arrival. If my Advisor had informed me when I arrived that no mechanic and lift required to do the job were not available until 4 hours later, then I would not have waited in the service area. After waiting about 2 hours after my arrival the Advisor told me my car was being worked on, but it was going to be a long job. I immediately went outside and photographed my vehicle sitting outside the maintenance area and not being worked on. This was a lie from the Service Advisor. After about a 4 hour wait, my vehicle was finally put into a bay and put on a lift so the recall replacement could be done. My photo at 2:14 pm shows my vehicle finally lifted for the recall replacement. The replacement took about 2 hours in total. The invoice showed 2 hours to complete the replacement. After the recall replacement was completed, my vehicle was moved to the front of the service center. At 4:04 pm I discovered my car was no longer in the maintenance bay. I went to the Service Advisor desk to get my car key, and my Advisor was not there. I waited in line for a number of minutes until finally I got the Service Manager Allen to close out my job and give me my key so I could check the replacement performance and depart. The invoice was printed at 4:27 pm. After the invoice was printed and I got my key, I then went to the Service Manager's office to express my complaint. I showed the Service Manager photos of my vehicle status that I took hourly or more. I have photos showing the 4 hours of my vehicle sitting outside the maintenance bay, and then finally being placed in a bay. I have photos showing the 2 hours for the replacement by the mechanic on my lifted vehicle. read more

If all you want is regular maintenance on your vehicle it only takes them about 2 hours, but if you want something else done it may take them all day. I went in for scheduled maintenance on my car and needed the clip that lets the door to the gas cap replaced and the advisor told me that it would have to be checked out and he didn't know when they could get to it. The good news was I went to the parts department to find out about the part see showed me the part but I wasn't sure how to put it in and one of the guys working walked by and said that it takes about 30 seconds, took the part to the car and replaced it for me saving me a lot of time. So if you get lucky enough to talk to the right people you can get good service. read more

Took my '22 Camry by today for a scheduled service. I also had a problem with the driver's side windshield wiper tapping the windshield frame that I hoped to get corrected. I waited in my car about ten minutes before anyone seemed to notice me. A service writer took my information and checked in my car. A bit later Justin French came to discuss the issue with the wiper, and though it presented a possible problem with the question of warranty coverage, he went back and got the issue resolved. I'd give 5 stars if not for the initial wait. Being more attentive to arriving customers would be an improvement. Otherwise, great job. read more

Toyota RAV4 Hybrid Premium XLE My experience from beginning to end was exceptional! Community Toyota treated me by far the best of all the dealerships I shopped from which ranged from League City, Houston, and Baytown. Kevin Aviles, my sales associate, was awesome! He went above and beyond to offer me many different vehicles and then upgraded packages until I decided on the one that was best for me! He was patient, straight forward, and always had a smile on his face! Both the general manager and sales manager, David Smith & Jeff Pasquale, we're amazing! Once I found my perfect vehicle, they used their industry connections to secure it for me. The pandemic and global chip shortage has definitely made car buying more difficult with less options immediately available. Truthfully, from a customer stand point, I had no idea. Their team pulled together and made it happen! They are awesome!! Damion Emhotz, the finance manager, took great care of me. He secured a very low interest rate and very patiently explained all the after market options and warranties. I never felt like he was pushing unnecessary services or products. More on that in a sec. Went there on a weekday morning to sign some papers (I co-signed for a truck and they needed my John Hancock to finalize everything.) When I was able to see a finance person, it was quick and painless. Very friendly and professional too. About the lady working the front desk... As I approached, she looked up at me and it almost became a staredown before she said "Yes?" I wouldn't call it rude, rather unprofessional. This isn't the DMV or the Social Security office after all. "Well, good morning to you!" I responded. "May I help you?" she said. "I hope so. I'm here to sign some papers to complete a sale." And then she asked a question that nearly floored me. "Do you have an appointment?" Whoa! I've heard of appointments to meet with doctors; I've made appointments to meet with lawyers; I've even scheduled appointments to have my car serviced. -- But to make an appointment to sign off on spending $25K on a vehicle? Really, Community Toyota? So, the young lady at the front desk called the finance department and told them I was there to sign papers, and that I didn't have an appointment. As she hung up, she told me she would escort me to the waiting area ... and then her phone rang. And then it rang again. And again. Finally, I was about to say "You know what? I'll find it myself." when she said "OK, follow me." The wait was about 15 minutes, but once I got in to see someone, it took merely five minutes to wrap everything up. Bottom line: Where I come from, you greet people with a smile and you say "Good morning (or afternoon). May I help you?" You could even throw in a "Welcome to Community Toyota." But to look up and say "Yes?" is just terminally wrong for a business attempting to make a profit. Ultimately, this is the fault of management ... Just like the whole ridiculous appointment thing is a management faux pas. There are too many other car/Toyota dealers around here that don't have such absurd procedures. I was out of town when my battery that was under warranty died. I had called another Toyota location and they refused to honor warranty without original invoice. Laura in the service department educated me and told me that warranty items are honored at any Toyota dealer and that the staff at Baytown would be able to look it up in the computer system and they did! Thank you Laura for great customer service and saving me an hour drive. Jordan was my service advisor and he is a very friendly and knowledgeable young man who greeted me with a big smile and clearly explained work needed and pricing to me before any work began. This review is for the Baytown Toyota Service Department. As always, I have a good experience with the service department. I was able to drop off my truck and allow them to keep it overnight. When the service technician resolved the alignment issue, they called me to let me know. Since the repair was not extensive (a rare thing for my truck), I asked if they had any theft protection for a catalytic converter. They said yes and gave me a quote over the phone. I told them to proceed with the work, and the truck was ready in a couple of hours. When I picked up the truck, Ben went over the repair work and ensured I had the unlock key for the catalytic converter shield. Zero complaints! read more

I am not happy with my experience whatsoever. As the people are friendly, I have not had a great experience this go around. I came in for a tire replacement. My tires have been preordered so I made an appointment at 10 am to get my tires changed. I showed up for my appointment at 9:30 am to ensure that my car would quickly get worked on. At 12:30 pm - THREE HOURS LATER, I left the dealership. This will be my very last time to ever get serviced here. If you make an appointment, keep in mind that you probably won't get seen at that time. What is the point of scheduling one then??? Very disappointed. read more

Consumer Alert - please read!!! I have been using Community Toyota in Baytown for all my vehicle needs since my initial purchase and have always had good service until my latest visit. I will go into details around the lack of quality in the work but the lack of genuine empathy and service made a life long negative experience as you will read. I took my car in for an insurance claim repair and was expecting to receive top quality repairs being I opted to take it to a certified dealer as opposed to a third party company. However, the lack of genuine care when performing the work was appalling. While I am not an expert the repair consisted of removing a top panel and various replacements. The top trim was clearly not set correctly and needed to have replacement clips ordered (once again I am not an expert but nobody at the dealership cared to bring this important detail to my attention. Only after I was persistent they agreed it needed the clips). After receiving my car the top panel strips are still loose and I doubted they fixed it but went along with their expertise knowledge. In order to put these clips on they had to remove the trunk seal and replace some hardware pieces. The trunk seal also had to be removed and replaced to access some hardware and was not replaced correctly. The seal had to be completely removed and installation was sloppy. The seal was loose and not fully attached which then allowed rain and moisture to enter my truck and ruin my belongings and gifts that I had purchased. I didn't expect them to replace everything but surely offer me something for this inconvenience but no it was just brushed to the side. The attempt to show remorse or concern was on the pitiful level which is a shame for a company that provides a service. The long terms effects of this are now leaving me with a trunk liner that smells of wet carpet and will surely lead to mold. Even through all the issues I have come across I would have been accepting of common human error but the level of professionalism (or lack thereof) was what has been the most unacceptable. The individual I speak of has no care of the issues nor do they have any intent to try to correct them. Lastly I should have known better as the last time I took my car for repair I found cigarette ashes on the floor mat of the drivers seat. I don't even smoke!!! I won't ever buy a car from this dealership! In short, save yourself some time, money and headaches and opt to get your repairs done with a local shop and I am sure you will be more satisfied. read more

They killed my Prius. We moved to Baytown a few months ago and my Prius needed a standard service/oil change. When we called to make an appointment we were told to do this online, they didn't make appointments over the phone. Fair enough. Since I work all week, I needed a Saturday appointment, first available was a 3 week wait. Not what I was used to in my previous town, but okay. When I showed up, perfectly on time, I was directed to the waiting area while they took my car. And then I waited. And waited. And waited. After 2 hours they came in and told me the air filter needed changing too. I approved, and then waited. And waited. And then, I waited some more. Finally, after THREE HOURS, I was told they were done. They also told me they work with a skeleton crew on Saturdays, just 2 people in the back to do all the work. REALLY??? I bet there are a LOT of people that have a job, and can only come in on the weekends to have their car serviced.... But wait, there is more! I went to a store after getting my car back, and when I came out, my door wouldn't open. I figured the battery in my key fob was low so I tried to get the actual key out of the fob to open the door manually. While doing so, my car woke up and I was good to go. UNTIL the next day, when we were getting ready to go to a fancy restaurant to celebrate our anniversary. The Prius was dead. When we opened the hood, the first thing we saw was the rubber lining from the previous air filter, just sitting on top of the engine. Sloppy. We had to call a neighbor over to jumpstart the car, and instead of going yo the restaurant we went to O'Reilly's to have the car checked. Battery was just fine, according to them. We were afraid to switch off the car away from home, so we went for take out and back home. We don't know what the issue was, the car has been acting fine since we resurrected it (3 days ago). I still hold my breath every time I start it, though. I finally decided to read some reviews (I know, should have done that before taking my car to them) and decided it is probably not even worth the effort to go back to them and tell them what happened I will be getting my car serviced somewhere else from now on. read more

I purchased a 2019 Chrysler Pacifica Van a month ago and am very sorry that I went to Community Toyota in Baytown. I paid $30 K for it and I knew it cost several thousand more than similar ones for sale in Houston but I liked the inside and outside colors. They had me waiting for quite a while and it just wore me down. I had asked them for a Carfax report and never got one so I don't know if it was in a wreck. Once I paid the money, they couldn't care less about me. I requested some info from the salesman, Gerald Bailey and he just ignored me and then when I complained to the manager Fernando Arellano, he said, "I can see the way this is going" and he told me to call the customer service manager. Took my vehicle in for a diagnostic after a "hiccup" after my oil change earlier in the week and I've never been more pleased and satisfied with a visit. Juan Flores, Dustin Brown and Josue M went above and beyond taking care of my vehicle. They kept communication open and thorough and constantly checked up on us throughout our wait (we were there for about five and a half hours) and even offered a shuttle to take us to get some lunch (shuttle's don't run on Saturday's but they were making an exception with us). I've always taken my vehicle here for its maintenance and I will continue to be a loyal customer to this dealership. These guys are the definition of good employees and should be the poster guys for exceptional customer service. read more

I contacted the dealer after seeing a vehicle I was interested in online. After receiving a call back from a salesman I was told the price online is not the true price that the car is actually higher than listed. So then I was offered to select a lesser series of vehicle at cheaper price and I accepted. Due to the pandemic I was told I must wait on the vehicle to be delivered as it is not in their inventory. All going ok. I'm good with the wait. I get a call to pick up the vehicle and complete financing and the deal have been VERY SOUR ongoing since. Finance was not able to discuss the deal with me (red flag). I was told to contact my financial institute to complete the finance. Back & forth and because they were unable to make contact with the bank to receive draft funding for the potential sale of the car I was purchasing, I was demanded to return the vehicle to the dealer. " I don't believe that part of the business is the customers responsibility"! finally my finance is complete and couples days later I received a call stating bring the car I purchased back again... now because they are saying they can't finalize the business of the vehicle I traded in. I tell you as a customer they don't care about you! They only is concerned about maintaining their job after they have failed to do their job and make it appear it is the customers fault for the errors they have made. I give one star, to the salesman's David White as is respectful, but I take some of the stars he could have earned because he allow upper management to get him in the middle of the drama by making the demand return the car calls to me. Can there be a worse Toyota dealership than this? I hope not. I get the dirty feeling when I talk to the people here, like they're looking for something. All of the sales people seem to give me the willy's. But, the bad part (yes, there's more) is the service department. The only reason why I give this two stars instead of one is because they can fix simple things, oil changes, etc. They are very good at excuses here. Inevitably, something will get screwed up requiring further attention. And then, the need to go to another Toyota dealership just to fix what they did. The only reason we keep going back here is because it's close and I keep hoping something won't go wrong the next time. I made an online appointment for 12 for what i thought was a simple oil change I got here waited in my car there was a lot men just there and no one came and asked me why I was there or anything so I get out of my car with my 3 kids because they were getting impatient & wait outside my car still no one bothered to ask what I was doing there so I came inside and asked someone, he said someone will be with you, didn't seem to care what I had to say. So we come inside because we get tired of waiting outside no one came to ask me anything we wait 2 hours before I ask someone how much longer is it going to take & this guy says we haven't started working on it because no one was by the car, I didn't know weather to laugh or be mad... I told him I was by my car and no one said anything! He said he called some number but I didn't get no call and why call when I'm literally waiting right there!!! My car needed service so I called ahead to the service department to see if they were packed. The person on the phone told me that all appointments were taken but I could still come in for the drive in service. I did and walked up to the service representative, Gerald, who after hearing my situation directed me to the maintenance representative. After telling him my situation he directed me back to Gerald because it wasn't a maintenance issue. After talking with him again I was told that they couldn't take anymore people today and I should schedule an appointment for a later day. Ok well that's fair I just wished the receptionist had been more clear with me. I scheduled an appointment two days later for 1:30pm on Saturday. I go back to Gerald who again directs me to the maintenance representative. The same situation happens and I'm directed back to Gerald. After seeing me again he tells me that he can't take me today because the shop is closing soon. I understand the first situation but this time was just bad service. My appointment had been confirmed but I was still turned away. I needed service on my car because I was leaving town to go back to college so I scheduled an appointment again. I walked in and greeted Gerald who just stared at me and walked by. At this point another representative, Juan, (who wasn't there before) comes to greet me. He took my car immediately. The shop didn't have the part they needed for my engine so Juan sent an employee to grab it from another Toyota shop and fixed my car an hour earlier than expected. That was great except he charged me $12 for the part and $360 for labor. My sister had her engine extensively worked on from the same business and labor was around that price but for me all they did was switch a gasket. Overall the experience was horrible and I would not recommend anyone to get service here unless they really need to. read more

I bought a used Honda Accord from Baytown Community Toyota, the salesman lied to me when I asked him if that was the final price on the car, the car was actually at the next door dealership which they all operate together and I found the car without his help, when I got to financing the guy was nice but says there is a extra $700 dollar charge for some kind of sealer they had put on car for something about the car sitting in the sun on their lot, I bought the car yes my fault but I feel like he lied to me and cheated. I would like everyone to know how they operate and don't do like I did and accept their dirty business. I give them a one star for untruthful practices. I will never buy a car there again or recommend to anyone. read more

I would give a negative score if i could. This dealership and CS is 3rd rated at best. I've been corresponding with Andrea, the Internet coordinator, and agree on a sales price; which I point out on multiple occasions was not reflected in their website. I was assure the listed price given to me by Andre was confirmed, ON EMAIL. I then agreed to made an appointment and prepared all financial arrangements before hand; thinking pricing has been confirmed; ON EMAIL. I knew things were not right as soon as i showed up at the dealership. The vehicle was interested in was still in the front lot, and not prepared for a viewing. Once inside and I told the receptionist of my appointment with Mr. Pravia. I was then informed no appointment have been set up, and that a salesman would help me. No big deal, I called Andrea to confirm and she told me she would look into it and would call me back, she never did. So the salesman, Scott, shows up and had no clue on what car I was interested in! No biggies again, I went on a road test and came back, and I was ready to proceed with the purchase. Once inside, I handed the agreed sale price that was given to me by Andrea, ON EMAIL, and Scott then when in to discussed with Mr. Pravia, who I initially had the appointment with and didn't bother to come see me. After a good five to ten minutes, not to my surprised, I was informed that they couldn't sell the car on the agreed arrangement because it was an error on their part!!! Needless to say, I was furious and showed them my down payment and loan papers, and walked out. It was a total waste of my time and effort. These people are incompetent and i would not recommend anyone to buy here!!! read more

The negative reviews really surprise me. I went into look for a Sienna Van. I told Juanito what I wanted and while I was waiting "Maverick" came up and asked if he could help me. I told him what I was looking for and about this time Juanito showed up with the requested Van. Since we were on a fact finding mission "Maverick" suggested we take the Toyota and go check out Kia and Honda so we could do a side-by-side comparison. I was amazed because they just turned us loose. We went to Kia and Honda did the comparison and decided the Honda Odyssey was for us. We returned the Toyota and thanked them. I expected the pitch or for them to try and change our minds but instead all was cool. Kuddos to Juanito and Maverick for assisting us in our decision with no pressure. Thank's Guys read more
