I asked about a 2025 Chevrolet Z71 Suburban that they had listed for $60,820.00 online with Carfax and on their Dealership website. I had also made an online inquiry. Stock Number - SR283775W VIN - 1GNS6DRDXSR283775 After speaking with Jonathon, he was going to check the availability and get back with me. I told him I could come out that afternoon to look at the vehicle. Late that afternoon Jonathon called me and asked if I was going to be able to come out and look at the suburban. It was around 5:30 PM and told him at that point it was getting late. He said that if I would drive the 1 1/2 hours that we would fill up my truck with a full tank of gas. I decided to go ahead and go look at the Suburban. It was raining hard and traffic was bad. I called Jonathon and told him it would be close to 7:30 before I could get there knowing they closed at 8 PM. Jonathon told me he had a family emergency and had to leave the dealership but he had given my information to a young man by the name of Kevin. When I arrived, Kevin met me in the lobby and said he would get the Suburban and pull it around. After 10-15 minutes he came out of the glassed in sale center with a young lady who said she was a sales manager. She said they had a problem. The Suburban was still in line to be serviced and the keys were locked up and they could not get to them. She said that I could look at it but I could not drive the vehicle. Luckly, they had left one of the doors unlocked so we were able to get inside the Suburban and look at it. After Kevin and I looked at the Suburban we went back inside where he printed off the Carfax report and the window sticker for the vehicle. I asked Kevin to get me a deal sheet with the out the door price based off the advertised price of $60,820.00. Kevin said he could not get a deal sheet, but that Jonathon could get it for me in the morning. Which I thought was strange since there was still a sale manager there. I told him to have Jonathon to put the deal sheet together and send it to me in the morning. I also asked about the missing running boards that were listed on the Suburban's window sticker. He said he would find out. Thursday 07/02/2026 I did not get any communications from Jonathon after that. I called his cell and there was no answer. I called the dealership 3 times asking for him and continued to get put into Voice Mail. I called a fourth time and he answered. He told me that he was checking on the running boards and the deal sheet and would call me right back. At this point my wife and I were heading to your dealership with intentions of driving and buying the Suburban. Jonathon called me back and said there was a problem. He said that the price had been changed now to $65,216 plus Document fees which totaled $65,441. A $4,396.00 price change. I checked the Carfax and dealer website, and it was still listed for $60,820. I asked him how this could happen. When I looked up the pricing history online it actually had the Suburban listed at $60,595. At that point we started to head home since I had my wife with me and going to the dealership was not going to be pretty. I've had my 2024 Ram 3500 in for repairs 6 times all for the same problem and still don't have it back. The uconnect system keeps failing. They have reprogramed it twice and installed a new system a 2-0r-3 times and still it is not right. They don't have anyone that's able to do a correct diagnoses I guess. Anyway it's been in their shop 6 times for a total of 15 days. This time it has been 9 days and I still don't have it back. The bad part is they don't communicate with me at all to let me know what's going on and when I call them I'm told it will be done on a certain day and it's not. This has to be the most unprofessional service shop I've ever delt with. If I ever get my truck back it will never go back to this shop. Very poor customer service. BEWARE OF THE "Total Financed AFTERMARKETS" LINE ITEM WHEN NEGOTIATING THE PRICE. CALLED THE BIG STAR package. After visiting the dealership to take a test drive of a Grand Cherokee L per advertised on Autotrader.com for a set price, we were very disappointed by the line item called "Total Financed Aftermarkets" of $8,995". We were told this covers the following: - Theft Patrol = $3,995 - Appearance Protection = $3,415 - Wheel locks = $495 - Edge Guard = $395 - Lifetime Guaranteed Window tint = $695 All of which we were told CANNOT be removed and comes with all of their vehicles. Our sales person was a very nice young man whom only been there 3-weeks and he took my rebuttal pretty well. The "Theft Patrol" is another product similar to Lo-Jack and should never be offered as a mandatory item. The Appearance Production is for your paint job and the left protection warranty/insurance. If you do not need the dealership to stand behind these things, they are optional. The term "protection" is only associated with if they have to take action for a repair. Almost $500 for wheel locks? Really? Edge Guard is wheel flaps where water will not splash up on the car when driving over water. Really? $395? The "Lifetime Guaranteed Window tint" if another insurance item that if they have to repair it, then it is covered. We never needed such an insurance We have excellent credit (in the 800s) and this would still raise the paint close to $300 per month. Outside of the overpriced wheel locks and Edge guard fee, everything else if total optional. DO NOT FALL FOR THIS. The dealership is trying to squeeze more money out of you with insubstantial items. As a Retired Military Veteran I caution all my Military Personnel from this dealership. It has been about a year now and there have been nothing but headaches since purchasing a vehicle from Big Star Ram. I bought a brand new 2025 Ram 1500 lifted and just leaving the parking lot I had to return cause the battery went dead. After replacing the battery on the way home to the valley, the screen went blank. Turns our the screen had to be replaced a long with the radio module. Soon after that (like a week) things stopped working inside the vehicle and it turns out the accessory battery was also bad and had to be replaced. This was all within the first month. Then I purchased the warranties that I very specifically asked if I can use in McAllen cause that's where I lived and they said yes, but that was not true. I took my truck to get its initial services via the warranty I purchased and to my surprise I could only be used from the purchasing dealership. I'm still waiting on a supposed refund that I have yet to see and its been a year. Then I got pulled over for speeding. When they put on the lift kit they did not sync the gauge with the oversized tires. There I go thinking I'm following the 70 mile limit and instead I'm clocked at 80. I take it in for them to sync the speedometer and again to my surprise, it could only be done in Houston or I had to pay for the service. There went another $400 dollars. I tried getting help for most of my issues from my sales person Brittany, but she was always unhelpful and rude. Like I was bothering them with my problems when they are the ones that sold me the vehicle. To top it off, I had to use my second key and it failed to work (shocker). Thinking it was the battery, I replaced it and still nothing. Now I have to take that to the local dealership in which I'm sure I will be charged again to program it. I caution anyone purchasing from this dealership to think long and hard. I would recommend purchasing from somewhere else or at a minimum be from the area in which you can talk to people in person. Something seems off with the sales team. I had to complete two credit applications even though I mentioned I was approved already. I was reluctant and as soon as I hit submit, I received notification of a change in my credit score. Fast forward, received communication stating the vehicle I wanted was still available and I made it clear of my expectations and if they said sure. Then the energy flipped. Daniel said I would get a call from his manager, and I was ok with that. Manager never called. Next day come, I notified Daniel that at I never received a call from his manager. Eventually she called and miss pronounced my name and said that we spoke in yesterday. I had to stop her and let her know that we did not speak and if we had, she would have been able to pronounce my name correctly. Even if she pronounced it wrong again, she would have apologized and asked for the proper way to say it. Why lie about speaking to me the day before? But then, came back to purchase another vehicle because it wasn't that bad, then the salesman attempted a sales tactic that failed miserably by calling me, bragging that he sold a truck he pulled for me to a friend who had accompanied me to the dealer to test drive one the day prior, then asked "so what are you gonna do now?" So what I did, was I found another dealer and salesman in Pearland that I had a much more pleasurable experience with. I'll gladly drive for honesty and transparency. Do not go to this place for service! I made an appointment well in advance for an oil change. (I had bought a 3 oil change package earlier in the year). I arrived 10 minutes early and was told that it was a 4 hour process for an oil change. (There are closer places that change your oil in 10 minutes). And I had an appointment. I asked if there were better days to make an appointment for-- and the service advisor said that it is -usual- for a 2.5-4 hour wait even with an appointment. I don't think that is how appointments are supposed to work. So- if you want an oil change- avoid BIg Star Chrysler. AND DO NOT buy the AdvantageCARE oil change plan- it is more like a Disadvantage-we-could-CARE-LESS plan. Please do not make the same mistake as I did.
