The views and landscape was incredible and reminded me just how lucky I am to live in California where I can access so much natural beauty within a few hours. I booked a 3 hr ebike Monterrey bay tour. Somehow, a lucky glitch made for a private tour with Victor. He was so knowledgeable and prepared and happy to answer all of my questions. We had a beautiful afternoon of riding and seeing the coast, mountains, seals, otters , algae birds, plants and the ecosystem at work. We also rode past pebble beach, mansions, overlooked vistas, and visited pacific grove. The pace was comfortable. This is a great option for the mobility challenged but requires some athleticism awareness and adventure to make it work. Think bike or electric scooter ride through town. If you are comfortable with those, you will do fine. read more

This was by far the hi-light of our trip! These RadPower bikes make the ride down to Carmel and back so much fun! The bike tutorial, helmets, and bike lock were a great touch. We wanted to rent bikes for an hour or two during our visit to Monterey. I chose this place over Adventures by the Sea, because I liked that Big Sur Adventures offered hourly rentals, while Adventures by the Sea only started at half day rentals (4 hours). Pricing for regular bike was $10 for the first hour, and $5 per additional hour. For the electric bikes, $20 for the first hour, and $10 per additional hour. I'm still relatively new to bike riding, so I was too scared to try the e-bike. They were nice to find a bike size that I was comfortable with, because I feel better on a shorter one. The location is great, being right across from the coastal recreation trail. We rode to the old fisherman's wharf, then turned around to bike to Lover's Point. There, the bike trail seemed to end or at least have a break where you have to ride in the street. I didn't feel like crashing into a car, so that become our end point to head back. The weather was lovely, and not too hot. A nice breeze, and the sun did come out at times. We stopped at a couple "pullouts" to enjoy the view. The downside to the trail is there are some clueless pedestrians who seem to have a life mission of blocking the middle of the path. We did come right at store opening (9 AM) to enjoy the trail being less crowded at least. Anyways, you provide a credit card when checking out but they don't charge you until after you come back. This was a great start to our day, and I can't wait for next time! read more

My tour was incredible! Our tour guide, Flo, took us on a gorgeous ride. He not only showed us stunning coastal sights, but also took us to off the beaten path places where we saw monarch butterflies, an array of birds, sea otters and many other creatures. He is very knowledgeable about nature and area. He genuinely and enthusiastically shared this knowledge during the tour. I never knew that sea otters were on the brink of extinction and are making a comeback! This is just one of many things I learned on the tour. I highly recommend this tour with Flo. read more

We had SO much fun enjoying the Monterey Peninsula on eBikes from Big Sur Adventures. Everything was thoroughly explained beforehand and the bikes themselves were great. We were glad we were given a map, would have appreciated slightly more detail on it.(iPhones helped). One of used the electrical assist very little & the others used it almost entirely. The battery use was only 1/6 used for all the bikes. Really great bikes & an amazing route. What an amazing experience. The bike I rented was so easy to use and fun to ride. The electric assist made the ride as easy or as challenging as I felt like in the moment. I cruised by many tourists on regular bikes struggling uphill. They gave me a map, but you hardly needed it to stay on the 17 Mile Drive route. Arranged to drop the bike at a hotel near Point Lobos, which was glorious. The ride between Carmel and PL is the only part I might not recommend unless you're a confident cyclist. The traffic moves fast and the bike lane is very narrow. More than worth the cost. If anything, they might be too cheap (don't tell them tho, cause I'll want to do this again next time I'm in town). read more

It's right off the rec trail and you can head south through Pacific Grove/Asilomar/17 mile drive or north through Monterey and the Seaside sand dunes. All stunningly beautiful. Lovely staff.
