My wife booked us the 3 1/2 hour guided E-bike tour of 17 mile road. The weather was a bit chilly and I guess everyone else cancelled so we had a "private" tour with our guide Zane. It was beyond awesome! Zane was born and raised in the area and so much knowledge of the area and the specific sites. The bikes were in perfect condition, helmets and gloves were clean and sanitized and they also provided packaged snacks and bottled water. My husband and I were headed out on a flight and decided to rent some electric bikes before to get wiggles out before the plane. This location (on Ocean just around the corner from the Aquarium) was a PERFECT spot!! We were able to get to 17 Mile Drive (and the first beach spot to the right after the Inn) and back within about an hour. We didn't stop long - but that was only because we didn't really have the time. The person who got us set up on bikes was great! He made sure we know how to work them before we left and had necessary equipment (helmets, gloves because it gets windy, and offered locks; we didn't need those, but the offer was great!). Visiting Cali and heard that the 17 mile drive is a must see so heard about Big Sur Adventures and it was the best!! Had a fun and energetic tour guide, Flo, who was so knowledgeable and made our trip worth it. It was a 2.5 hour bike ride along 17 mile road and stopped at various lookouts to take pictures and even caught a little bit of the golf tournament at pebble beach. The best part is that this was all on an e bike which was perfect since parts were super hilly and we got to experience the coast like never before. The bikes themselves were in amazing condition and got a whole tutorial on how to use them prior to our trip. I was so happy we came here for a bike tour and it's a MUST DO!!! read more

Big Sur Adventures e-bike rental shop was really the highlight of a recent vacation to Monterey with my teen. The owner carefully explained how to use the e-bikes since I had never used one before and these ones had a throttle and pedal assist. They had phone holders, saddle bags for holding tons of stuff, and locks included with the rental and the bikes looked brand new. We hardy used any of the batteries on our ride along the 17mi drive. I HIGHLY recommend this e-bike rental shop, they had tons of options, even e-bikes you could bring your dog on and they were incredibly nice and helpful. read more

I had so much fun on these bikes :) spent $60 each on 4 bikes for single ebikes. Came on a Saturday around noon. The bikes are super robust, easy to operate, and powerful. Also comes with helmets and bags to put your things in. I also asked for a phone holder to make navigating easier. The staff are also so nice and accommodating. This the e-bike tour along 17 Mile drive was the best part of our trip to the Monterey area. We got to the shop and they had gloves, bike helmets, warm jackets, snacks and water for our ride. This was our first time on any bikes and it was a wonderful experience. Several people including my husband said that they wanted to buy an e-bike after this tour. Zane was our tour guide and he was great about standing how to use the bike, stopping to make sure the old group was caught up as there were 12 of us. He was very knowledgeable and has lived in the area his whole life. He was able to answer any questions that anyone had. We got 30 minutes to walk around Pebble Beach. We already talking about this coming back on us for with our kids for our next trip. Kids do have to be 14 years old to ride their own bike. read more

Flo was our FANTASTIC Guide on the 17-mile Drive via electric bikes. We were led safely (my biggest concern since I'm a scary and inexperienced bicycle rider). We stopped along the way for historical moments which Flo filled us in about the Cypress trees and botanical life, the Bird's landing (forgot name), Spanish Bay and scenic coastal breeze and trails. This was more than amazing thanks to Flo. We travelled with 5 others in our group. They were great ppl to travel with on our tour. We have been on the 17-mile drive tour in our car but nothing beats travelling on an electric bike on a beautifully-perfect day. It's more than we imagined even though there were lots others site seeing on the 17-mile drive. We took note of the best beach coves to return to. Being on the 18th hole and shopping centers at Pebble Beach were also phenomenal. To top it off we didn't need to pedal and you can go as slow or fast (up to 20 miles) with provided helmets and gloves. Not bad on the knees and no labor! We brought our windbreakers for the coastal winds. Worried about battery life? Nope! We returned only using 1/4 battery life. We highly recommend this. Ask for Flo. He's very knowledgeable about history and botanical life. read more

This place was great. Conveniently located directly next to the Monterey Bay Rec Trail. Rates were reasonable and the electric bike I rented for my dad had such a great battery. We took the coastal rout to the PG gate for 17-mile, got off in Carmel for lunch, then finished the 17-mile loop back to the PG gate, and then again road coastal back to the shop, and his battery still had 3/4 bars left! Such an awesome bike rental place which is perfectly located on the 17 mile road if you plan to do the long bike ride. With the yelp discount, the price was super cheap for two bikes and I had so much fun. When checking in, the process was super easy and they had our bikes ready within 5-10 mins. We just had to sign waivers and we were ready to ride. The bikes were pretty basic but rode well. My bike was great but my GF bike was way too small. Not the fault of anyone but just make sure you check the size of the bike and how comfortable it is before doing the full 17+mile ride because I had to end up switching with my gf and rode the mini uncomfortable bike back for 10 miles. Other than that, the entire ride was so fun and totally worth the rental. It comes with helmets as well. Great deal and would definitely do it again! read more
