Blue Valor Contracting placed at least one of its customers in a terrible financial situation. Do not let this happen to you! This is not a review about some relatively small thing, like the quality of a meal. This is about real and significant financial consequences that have happened to another Blue Valor Contracting client. This review could possibly save you huge amounts of money, time, and headache. Blue Valor Contracting's owner, James Johnson, called my small business in desperation to do a wall papering job for one of HIS clients. We made 2 trips to his client's condo to complete the job. When James needed us, he was quick to take our phone calls. Once we completed the job and tried contacting him for payment, James has been on the run. We never received payment for the job we did for him, and James will not return our calls and text messages. Our only recourse is to place a mechanic's lien on his client's home. THIS COULD BE YOUR HOME! In response to the lien notice, I discovered Blue Valor accepted payment from his client, then failed to finish the job. The work he did do was questionable. And, he did not pay OTHER subcontractors. This information led me to dive further into research on the business, and it appears Blue Valor Contracting's registration status with the State of Texas is inactive. Blue Valor Contracting advertises "Quality with Integrity." Judge for yourself if placing his clients' homes at risk of mechanic's liens is operating with integrity. The caulk pulled up in spots after the first time after a few days- we'd only let it dry for 24 hours, so maybe that was partially the cause. Steve courteously came out to redo it, this time we let it dry with a fan blowing in the room for extra air movement for 48 full hours at his suggestion- it started peeling again within a couple weeks. Steve did offer to come do it again but I didn't really feel like trying a third time on a job that I was under the impression should be very simple. He offered some great prices on other work I needed done but frankly I don't really want to try more complicated work after this experience.. I think I'll just do it myself if I'm going to pay to have it not done right.

Fast forward to the storms we recently had, my roof held up great but my fence that has been installed since 2009 did not. The HOA hired Jeremy and his crew to trim broken branches, clear driveways and common areas, and clean up and haul away all the debris. They did that in approximately a week-and-a-half. Our community looked so good, while neighborhoods around us have only just now -- 6 weeks later -- been cleaned up by the City. And those neighbors had to do their own tree trimming and hauling of debris. Our HOA and community couldn't be happier! So if their roofing expertise is even half as good as the work they did with tree trimming and such, you shouldn't be disappointed.

Sam Tuttle was hired to do a build out on our metal building to be an Airbnb. In short Sam Tuttle is an con-artist. He mismanaged the funds for the job he was hired to do. He lied about how he spent the funds. He asked for more money when he knew he was going on vacation. Then he asked for the entire amount of the project when his agreement stated "three installments as the project moved forward." He refused to follow our vision. He did things his way and when we asked him for explanations he said he was going to need more money. In a meeting in our home he insulted our guest when they asked him a question. He got into a screaming match at our front door because he didn't want to answer legitimate questions about the concerns we were having. On this same day he walked off the job. Sam said he was a Christian and that he was honest. He was recommended by a close family friend which is why we hired him. There were huge discrepancies about how the money was spent. He told us different amounts on three different occasions which he why we wanted to talk to him. We knew based on the material at the job site and the number of days he worked that there was no way he could have spent all of the first installment. Because Sam walked off the job in anger we asked him for an amount we believed he should return to us. He agreed to this amount in an email and then has refused to pay us. He does not return our emails, he does not return our texts. This is the first time I have ever left a bad review for anyone. In this case, it is the right thing to do. Sam Tuttle is not ethical. He took advantage of me and my 82 year old mother. He lied to us. He mismanaged the funds and walked off the job in anger. I do not suggest you use him for any service. We regret trusting in him and allowing him into our home. Do not use his services. Stay away!!
