Julius arrived astonishingly quickly, and he was able to hitch up and gather my Ford Ranger onto his flatbed in no time. Considering it was dusk and the temperature was steadily dropping, he was even so gracious and kind as to allow my friend and I to sit in his cab and keep warm and safe. Julius is quite the conversationalist, and we had quite a few laughs at his jokes; making the time spent in his cab waiting for my ride home to arrive a pleasant and memorable experience. first when I spoke to them after the police department gave me the information of who towed my vehicle they couldn't find my car and said they didn't have it when they did! they are very shady and unprofessional they towed my vehicle and then wouldn't let me retrieve my personal belongings. every time my insurance company reached out to them to get my vehicle out of there lot they either didn't show up or said they didn't have the staff to go out and meet them, they also said my vehicle was stuck in between other vehicles and couldn't be moved cause they couldn't move the other vehicle. they ended up charging me hundreds of dollars for storage and my insurance company had to pay if they wanted to get my vehicle off the property. I had driven by the property and saw my vehicle it was Not stuck between 2 vehicles. They held on to my vehicle for over a week to rack up the storage fees and they also were not honest about the property that was inside my vehicle ! Original ETA was 1hr which I waited out on 92 degree weather. The hour went by, I called and no one would answer my call. Second attempt I reached someone who instructed me to leave and keep running my errands. I left. An hour went by and I happen to drive where the vehicle was left hoping it would've been picked up by then and the car was there!!!! I wish I could leave NEGATIVE 100 STARS. This company managed to squeeze an extra three weeks daily fees out of my insurance company by playing a game of hide and seek. They had our car (reported abandoned by a partner car mechanic but not abandoned at all) on one lot while their "office" was located on another lot, conveniently seldom staffed. I called ahead to make sure they would release the car, sent the insurance tow company after it, but they were turned away, saying it had to be paid for first---at another location. RED FLAG #1. Got to the other location and was told cash only, not even a company check. RED FLAG #2. This went on for several days until the insurance company finally reached back out to the adjuster. Adjuster got involved and got the same run-around. Was actually ejected from the lot where my car was located, bodily threatened and threatened with the police (yeah right...they want the police there.) RED FLAG #3. Finally, our adjuster got a special investigator involved, at which point they decided they'd pushed hard enough and released the car, albeit almost another week later. This company knows exactly how to commit insurance fraud without leaving hard proof that they've done it. Run far and wide if their name comes up as an option in any way, shape or form. And be careful of any mechanic who has a relationship with them. That's who started this in the first place. read more

Their driver Koda was higher than a kite and literally endangered me by picking my truck up from a safe spot, gets a mile down the road an decides the trucks to heavy so he drops my truck off in a very dangerous spot on the highway. There was zero shoulder while cars a flying by almost hitting my truck. Not only leaves me in a dangerous spot but also damaged my rig. I called the owner and she laughed at me. My car got stuck offroad in the mountains. I saw John the night before getting my car extracted to fix another friend's car, ironically, and I noticed he was quick to do his job. Very polite and professional. Because it was late at night, he had to come back the next day for my car, and he gave the facility number that he was at so that he could come back when I made a request for service through AAA. Sure enough, he was able to come back like he said, and even showed up slightly ahead of schedule. After my rental car died in Rocky Mountain National Park, the geniuses at Budget Rental Car, or whatever third party roadside assistance company they use, left me stranded in an area of Colorado with no taxis, Uber or Lyft. It took me forever to convince them that I couldn't take a rideshare to one of their locations so they finally agreed that the only option was for them to bring me a new car, either on a tow truck or with follow car. On the afternoon the first car died, a different tow truck company tried but for some reason couldn't get me a car. The following morning at 6am local time, I was back on the phone with Budget and by 7am, Big Toe Towing had a driver on the way to the airport to get me a car. Budget told me the replacement vehicle would be to me by 11am. A bit before 11am, I called Big Toe Towing to check on ETA and their driver was STILL at the airport waiting for Budget to release a car. The poor guy waited hours for that damn car. These guys don't make any money waiting around and he could have been out jump starting batteries or rescuing little old ladies on the highway and actually making money, but they'd committed to helping us out and they did. I see some negative reviews here and I can't really speak to them, but I can say that had it not been for Jason and Chris and their commitment to helping a customer, our family vacation would have been a disaster. I rented a car from Avis at DIA on 3/12/2019. I flew in from AZ to Denver for Stem Cell Therapy. I picked up the car at about 1:30pm on the April 12, 2019 when I check out of the gate I told the guy at the checkout the car smelt like smoke and was filthy and the gas had not been filled. His employee ID was 47866. I told him to not it and he did on the back of the rental recipient. He said they would switch cars but I had already waited in a line with many others because they had NO cars or people to get you a car( even at the Avis Preferred counter) and I had a doctor's appointment at 3:30 in Lakewood for my stem cell replacement so I did not have more time to wait. I drove from the airport to the Sheraton hotel located at 360 Union Blvd, Lakewood, CO 80228. I went next door and did my stem cell and went back to the hotel to sleep( My sister was my responsible Adult) . I had a flight the next day but as we know all flights were canceled on April 13, 2019 due to the blizzard. I called and extended my rental car. This car was parked on April 12, 2019 at 2:00pm and never opened again until I was on my way to the airport at 6:30 am Thursday morning. I went down and hit the key fob to open the door and NO lights went on. I walked closer to the car and nothing NO activity what so ever. I took the manual key out and the door would not move. I did not want to break the key off so I went in and called road side service with Avis. I called 800-354-2847 this was at 6:45am. I did not get that man's name but I have everyone since. This man told me that they had dispatched someone to come help me and they would be there in 45 minutes. He also gave me the name of the provider coming to help me. He said it was Preferred Road Side Service and he spoke to Jessica at 720-414-5555. After an hour I called preferred road side service to ask for an ETA. The gentleman that owned the company said NO ONE had called them and they did not have a Jessica that worked there. He said if I could call them and get them to OK it they would pick the car up. I then called roadside service back at 7:04 am and spoke to Alyce O, who told me she had NO record of me calling, and if I could not get the key to open the door that they could not either and they would need t send a tow truck. She asked me if I could get a ride to the airport and drop the key at Avis. I told her that I Could get a ride but could not drop the key because as I just had 25 shots of stem cell therapy and 10 which were in my ankles and could not walk through the airport. Alyce O ask me to leave the key at the front desk of the Sheraton and she would send a tow truck (BIG TOW Towing) and they could pick up the key at the front desk. Alyce O told me it would be picked up in NO more than 2 hours. On the way to the airport( a $112.00 ride via Metro Cab) I called Avis direct an spoke to Henry in there customer service department at 800-352-7900. Henry told me that he would notify DIA Avis that this is what was going on with the car by fax since I could not turn it back in. I went to united got my wheelchair and they took me to my gate. After sitting at my gate I called Clamisha at the Sheraton to ask if they had gotten the Ford Ranger from her parking lot. She then told me she has not seen anyone and they still had the key. I called the roadside service back and they told me that it would be picked up in the morning which was 3/15/2019 because of the snow. I arrived back in Arizona and thought all was good. I woke up and called the Sheraton the morning of the 15th and ask if the car had been picked up and they told me No one had showed up. I called BIG Tow Towing and spoke to Heather and she said that someone had been dispatched to pick up the car. That was at 11:30am and they would be there in 30 minutes. I waited until 12:45 and called the Sheraton again, and NO one had picked up the car. I called Roadside service again and spoke to Lasandra at 12:45 and she said that she would get this taken care of. I also conferenced in a manager at Avis employee number 38967 Gabriel who said there was noting they could do to help me that the roadside service was taking car of this and he said they opened up a case number # 27385234. He said they would not close out my rental until they car was returned to Avis. I told him that is ridiculous since I cant even get into the car. He assured me that it would be picked up, per him and Lashandra that was on the phone with us his roadside service provider. The both told me that BIG TOW Towing would be there to pick up the car in a few hours. I called at 5:00pm the Sheraton so see if they picked up the car. Tia at the Sheraton told me they showed up but since they could not open the doors they could not get the car on the flat bed they had , and would have to come back move the car with dollies and then load the car. Highly unimpressed. I didn't select this company, my auto insurance did, and I wouldn't recommend them. The given ETA was originally an hour, then the driver called to tell me it would be an hour and 20. After an hour and 35, I called the number, which is actually wrong. It directs you to a driver, not the dispatch. Dispatch did call, and as they did the driver showed up, however, neither of them apologized for it taking a total of 1 hour and 45 minutes to get there. The driver told me he'd fill out the key drop form to drop it off at the shop it was going to, and that was nice enough to bump them up a star, so long as he actually did. But overall, poor and untimely service. If I need towed again I'll insist that my insurance company go with someone else. Edit: come to find out, the driver didn't fill out any of the information when he dropped the key off. That effectively takes it back down to 1 Star. read more

They tow my semi truck at 2:00 am from private parking lot.They told me owner of property(mill parking lot) required to be towed.I don't think anyone did called them at 2:00 am,Are you serious? Owner was there at 2:00 am?To make it worse even,I parked there at 1:15 am .They towed my truck as soon I left.They didn't notify police even.When i called cops I was told it is nowhere reported.So I had to reported as stolen truck.I had delivery same day at 5:00 pm.I came at 8:30 pm and I have to reschedule because I'm late.Next day I supposed to pick up on other load and that has to be canceled now.They charged me 865.00 $ for 12 miles tow and it is actually 10 miles.So,they broke many low's here,I will go to sue them tomorrow.This is just wrong.This is terrible company.It took me for ever to get my truck back.So i will see you guys in the court. read more

My good sams roadside assistance set up a tow with this company about 2:30 pm, heard from Wayne around 3:30 to clairify what motorhome we had. He was pleasant said driver with the specific tow truck was on another job and it would be a few hours. Fine, we got text message that ETA was 7:15, ok, then 10 min arrival, ok, but 7:30 we called dispatch. He was rude and said driver was on another call and would call when on his way, it could be 9, 10 or later he didn't know. We called Wayne back no answer, but apparently dispatch heard from him. He then threatened that if we call again he won't come get us. We immediately reported and requested another tow from GSRA. They sent Dillon/Western Tow and Recovery , by this time it was 10:00 pm. Hopefully this will help you generally with how to not get screwed by tow companies in general and my experience with this company in particular. When your car breaks down you are stressed and in a vulnerable position. Unfortunately this is great for bad actors and it falls on you to take steps to not be taken advantage of. Kind of sucks.... deal. In my case Big Toe Towing tried to cheat me but I had taken steps to not let that happen. The cost to me was an additional hour of my life. In the end I saved $110 and maintained my dignity. My experience: Stuck on side of road. Call roadside. Roadside schedules a pickup and said that it would be $42 out of pocket because I wanted to go 30 miles. Sure, fine. I tell roadside to have the tow company call me when they are 20 minutes out and go somewhere near by. They call and say they are close and that they want $70 more than what my roadside negotiated. I tell them that they agreed to a price and they should honor their agreement. He says they won't come unless I pony up. I tell them I won't and insurance sent another company. The overage for the new guy was zero. Learning from my mistake, I called the new company right away and he confirmed the overage would be exactly as stated. What I learned: 1a) Roadside assistance will call the tow company and find out what the tow will cost you, the "overage". This isn't health care, you know the entire cost before they provide service. If they try to change the overage you are being cheated. In many cases their is no overage at all. 1b) Confirm your overage on a tow. You will save time and money. In civil society it shouldn't be considered a "mistake" to assume that someone will honor a price that they quoted an hour earlier but when you're stuck on the side of the road that patch of land becomes a third world country given the way some companies act. (When I say third world I mean lawless) Had I called I may have realized Big Toe were going to try to cheat me earlier and saved some time. In my case, the reason Big Toe didn't call me about the overage until they were onsite is to inflict the maximum pain on me in terms of wasted time if I said no to their scam. Luckily I had the next point working for me. 2) Tranquilo [Chill out]. You are not going to make your next appointment. Your schedule just changed. It's a bummer you will now miss your flight but getting your panties in a bunch isn't going to help. 3) Make up an excuse to call and make sure they are on schedule. If at all possible abandon your vehicle and go somewhere comfortable. I went to a microbrewery that was 5 minutes away. I told the tow company that they should call me when they were 20 minutes out. That way I could check up on them. In my case they beat me to the punch and called first. Unfortunately their next move was to tried to extort money from me. I was sipping on a beer and didn't have to take that BS. The real problem is that many tow companies won't show up when they say they will. I'm not talking about 15 minutes late. Given the nature of the service, traffic, some wiggle room must be given. To much outside of this without a call to explain is poor business practice and an indication of a company that doesn't respect you and will cheat you in other ways. Hope this was helpful! Legal asside: Verbal agreements are difficult to enforce but are legally binding. I'm not a lawyer but if you are being scammed by a change in overage it may be perfectly legal use the scammers service, pay with a credit card, and then say you were charged the wrong amount when you are safe at your home and not under duress by the side of the road. I suppose that would have saved me about an hour of my life minus the dispute process. In my case not worth it but if they pull this scam and you're 3 hours in it might be a viable way to not get taken advantage of. read more

If I could give 10 stars, I totally would! We were pulling a travel trailer from Spokane, WA to Houston, TX, and the trailer blew a wheel bearing about 20 miles outside of Limon, CO. These guys were the closest company that had the proper equipment to tow the trailer. Our roadside assistance company gave them the wrong info about our trailer. So they didn't bring a big enough truck, but the driver improvised and chained the trailer axel up so he could tow it back the 20+ miles to town at 20mph. It was the middle of the night, he drove 2 hours to get to us after his shift was technically over. He totally could have just said he didn't have the right equipment and left us there, but he truly wanted to help. So thankful to have found such GOOD PEOPLE when we needed it most!! read more

Unfortunately, I've been having a lot of trouble with my truck. I went through my insurance to have it towed twice and these guys were great(both times Chris was my driver). Though the wait time was pretty long both times, but I've never had a quick response time with any tow company so I'm not bothered by that. My first time using them, I had to go to class and leave my truck alone but they were very flexible. Chris called me with updates and made sure it was in a good spot at my complex. At 8:07 the tow company called and said the driver is enroute hour later driver called and said he is enroute he just got the call. I informed him he's an hour late. I called the company they were rude and started cursing me we cancelled driver still showed up he was turned away, insurance company called want me to reconsider nope send me another company. My semi broke down while I was going through the Denver area on New Years day. I thought for sure there would be a wait getting a tow truck to me. Surprisingly they showed up in a very short time. I needed to be taken to the International dealer but they were gated up. They allowed my truck to stay in front of their place of business in which meant my truck had to be hooked twice. Mercedes Road Side Assistance (contracts Big Toe) had to intervene and cancel my tow after Big Toe went over 1hr & 45 minutes. I kept getting texts saying they are on their way and even tracking info saying they are 18 minutes out. Do not believe them. Mercedes is reviewing their contract - they are supposed to be there in 1 hr. Upon cancelation I got an argumentative phone call from someone at Big Toe stating they are not late and are still 25 minutes out. Which would have made it over 2 hours! How sad! No accountability. What a waste of time on a Saturday. Mercedes found another tow company that way there in 20 minutes. Go figure. read more

** AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS ** If I could give this company a negative 5 star, I would. I had a disabled Avis rental in the mountains that needed to be replaced with another vehicle on 28 December. After Big Toe Towing accepted the job, Avis's roadside assistance contractor provided their number so I could reach out and coordinate directly. I called them, Jason I believe, and he was very courteous on the first call. He said to call back in 2 hours as that was the estimate he provided to pick up the replacement vehicle at Avis. So I called 2 hours later. His driver wasn't even close to picking up the car and had no estimate when it would happen, he said I asked too many questions, he said he was going to cancel the job and then hung up on me. It was unbelievable. I only asked when his driver would be at Avis to pick up the vehicle since it was 11pm and I just wanted to know if I would need to stay up all night waiting for the replacement vehicle. He made up excuses and lied to me. Roadside assistance then called him back. He said he would take the job again. Then when they called him back 90 minutes later, he cancelled the job. So that was 3.5 hours wasted on Big Toe Towing with zero results. One of the most unprofessional companies I have ever dealt with. (The good news is that roadside assistance then put me in touch with Century Towing and they ROCKED it. Amazing service. Had the entire job done in less than 3 hours and my location in the mountains was 2 hours away.) read more
