I would stop here again, I'll start with that. On our way to a state park, the pickings were slim for places to eat near this particular stretch of the Rainier area and after looking at reviews, we decided to stop here. I love the exterior of it being a roadside pizza joint with nothing around it for miles (it was pitch black so maybe there were things). The interior was clean and rustic with sports memorabilia appropriately displayed all around and the staff was friendly. We got the Supreme pizza and Caesar salad. Each slice of pizza was LOADED with cheese which we absolutely loved and the pizza sauce had a very nostalgic food service pizza sauce taste, which is to say it wasn't the best but it was good. I ordered two large pizzas was quoted 35 minutes. I called after 1 hour and ten minutes to find out where my pizza was. I was told by a female young manager that they haven't started my pizzas yet due to a large party. Durant make sense I told her so that means the party came in after I ordered and you chose to make theirs instead. Came here yesterday and drove 10 + miles. I could've easily gone to Myles Pizza Depot and walked. But I wanted "wings" and "pizza". Just like any other patron that goes to a pizza place. I've been here numerous times and this was absolutely the worse. We walked and looked at the menu... I wanted a pizza and the lady in the front said they are out or "cheese" with a smile on her face. I asked her if they had enough cheese to make a small pizza? She said no. I looked at my friend and kind of shrugged my shoulders and thought about going to Myles. I guess let's get the 2nd thing a normal person would want with their pizza.. what about wings? With a smile on her face she also replied and said we are out of "bone-in" wings. Again I looked at my friend in disbelief. Mind you not, this all while the phone is ringing for people wanting to order pizza and people "driving" wanting to eat pizza and just to turn around and leave. At this time, I might as well order something since we both have not eaten all day!! We ordered boneless chicken wings, family size ceasar salad and for appetizers some bread sticks. We proceed to our seat and just to stop by the bar to order drinks. No one was to be found. I heard a girl tell the other patrons that the "bar tender" was in the back washing dishes. We waited and no show for the bar tender. My friend ended up going to the front register to order 2 drinks. We waited and waited just to be approached by a girl. I asked her that we were waiting for our food and we told her what our order was. She told me that they were all in the oven. I asked her about the breadsticks "the appetizers" since I wanted it beforehand. She replied again with a smile on her face and said " you are all getting them together!" And she walked away. Minutes later slowly food started showing up. The bread sticks were swimming in melted butter and 1/4 portion of the bread was all soggy because of the butter at the bottom of the plate. Let's talk about the boneless wings.. the chicken nuggets size tenders were crunchy and had burnt spots all over them. The only reason why I saw burnt spots is because I ordered them dry with sauce on the side. Just like how I order my bone-in wings. Now the salad.. salad was served on the same bowl that it was mixed in and same tongs used to mix it with the sauce all caked in on the tongs. This is not normal, I have ordered salad here plenty of times and have never been served in the same bowl it was mixed in, in the kitchen. Almost feel like they were avoiding having to do more dishes. I counted approx 10 cars full of customer drive up and hear the phone ringing and just to watch all of them drive away again. I don't normally write reviews but whose fault was this? If there was a manager there, then they have failed to look at inventory and if it was running low, they failed to notify the owners to get more. It's just like McDonald's running out of fries. Poor inventory prep by the opening manager and poor communication by the staff to let owners know they are running out. We just wanted wings and pizza just like everyone that has called and drove to the place and to just drive away.. it was not even worth taking a picture of.. Weird vibe. I came in to order a pizza to go. I noticed that they now have a small full service bar. I thought that I sit down, enjoy a cocktail and watch the ball game while my pizza was prepared. Another customer came over and sat near me to watch the game and an employee came over and went on a strange rant stating that she would not serve alcohol because "she has a friend that is in jail for 9 years because of abusing alcohol". After chatting and sitting there for quite awhile, I wondered what was taking sooo long to get my pizza. (There were only 3 patrons in the restaurant and 6 workers in the kitchen). After standing at the counter for awhile, finally one of the employees acknowledged me and said "have you been helped"? I told her that I wanted to check on the status of my food. On a counter behind her was my pizza. Nothing had been done to keep it warm. I asked her "how long has my food been sitting there"? She shrugged and said " not too long!" I asked her why she didn't tell me it was ready to go. She said she "called out" that the pizza was ready. By then, the gentleman that I had been sitting with had arrived at the counter. He stated that he never heard anyone "call out". We were sitting perhaps 10 passes away! There were only 4 patrons in the entire house! My pizza was old and luke warm. Why does a restaurant install a bar but the employees will not serve drinks? Why, especially when they have more staff than patrons wouldn't they bring someone their food or, at the very least tell the customer that their food is ready? Very poor customer service. read more

Always a good source of pizza. The pricing in a little steep but they support local youth sports teams. Their pizza is often times way better than a chain, and they deliver to those who may not receive delivery. The locations are easy to get to and convenient. Far below average, for Varsity. Toppings (Supreme) were sparse, over the whole pizza. I'm used to getting more toppings than this, at ANY pizzeria. My pizza had about 2 pieces of salami and pepperoni per slice. We asked for extra sauce and this was also lacking. The tomatoes were okay but the mushrooms were few in number, as well. We won't return to this location. This was a 24 dollar pie that most any frozen pizza would've easily competed with. Didn't know I needed to look into the box, before taking this home. Pizza is definitely better than your average large scale pizza chains. Not the best pizza I've had in the area. I believe their priced a bit on the high side for their pies. I do like their crust, but their sauce was a bit bland for "my" taste buds. Wouldn't say I'd go there everytime but definitely in the book as an option down the road. read more

Varsity Pizza is our local "neighborhood" pizza joint out here in the country. It's not amazing, but it's pretty decent for the price and quality. The crust is nice and chewy, but not too dense and the meats and cheese seem to be of higher quality. We recently had the Hawaiian Pizza and it featured some really nice Canadian bacon with perfectly crisp edges and sweet pineapple. The prices seem reasonable and I've never experienced any bad customer service from the folks here at Varsity. It's not Round Table or Farrelli's, but it's also not $30 a pizza. Check them out!
