We were not sure when the building was last painted, but it had been at least 21 years. The team was very considerate and covered all windows with transluscent plastic to protect our privacy. They were prompt and timely, starting no earlier than 8am and finishing no later than 5pm. We chose Bigler to paint our building. Several months ago our HOA was collecting estimates to paint our 3 unit building. We collected a half dozen estimates and all of them were good. What separated Bigler from everyone else, was that he remained in contact with me to see how our decision process was going. He wasn't pushy, but he wanted me to know that he wanted our business. Our HOA had voted at our last annual meeting to have the building painted however when it came time to actually hire a contractor, one party denied the motion. I informed Bigler of the inability to paint and he was completely understanding. I promised to call him when our situation was resolved. Fast forward 3 months and the reluctant party was selling their unit. With the encouragement by their personal realtor and our willingness to get our building painted we collected the necessary unanimous yes vote to paint. Bigler Universal Painting gave us a timely estimate, which broke down the different components of the project for us. Once hired, the crew were punctual, arriving prepared to work. Owner Bigler respectfully communicated via text and phone calls; he was also good at letting us know of any unforeseen expenses (there were a few), etc. Our old backyard redwood deck had not been treated in well over a decade (I'd forgotten until I started to notice some obvious dry rot). What we first thought were just a few affected boards turned out to be EIGHT! The crew cheerfully removed all the damaged boards and replaced them before they began staining. Meanwhile, we chose a stain color and bought stain. Once they were done with it all, they hauled away the old deck debris. We also have a wooden entryway surrounding our front door, and this needed to be treated for weather damage. They taped over our doorbell panel, lamp, and mailbox slot, before pressure washing and then re-staining with two coats. Although the crew seemed to have had trouble navigating controls by our water supply and irrigation system (it was left to drip for a day, until we discovered it), and there was a ding in our interior wall by the front door, which had not been there before they were working, after we alerted him, Bigler offered to replace the irrigation parts and to repair the wall, which he eventually did.
