I hear so much about this place so I stopped in to check it out. Was on a quick break down town San Jose and was craving a smoothie and this was the closest place to me. Service could be better, but where to order was a bit confusing. There's two registers is what it looks like, but one place to order which would be to the right. There was a young lady that was ordering to the far left so we stood behind her thinking that's where you order. After standing there for 10 minutes and the lady behind the counter to the right looking at us finally said did you need to order. Looks like she was in a rush and a bit snippy. I ordered a smoothie I forgot which one but it wasn't great. Very water down. Overall this place is ok.

Worst cappuccino just milk as you can see

Horrible place! Worst cappuccino I have ever had, paid for a double shot of espresso as you can see it was milk mostly and only one shot of espresso! Bread pudding was cold and old, talked to the young lady about it she said I don't what to do to fix it, $14 dollars thrown away I really just wanted coffee Do not waste your money here

My friend and I were craving some baguettes after watching a show based on a story set in paris, so we stopped by! So many items to choose from! Was looking for a dessert and wasn't expecting to actually buy a baguette (lol), but they had a fresh batch that just came out so we bought it!! It was very soft but chewy and perfect as a snack with some butter! It was also very delicious as is. I also got a pistachio mousse, and it was yummy too!

We came across this place today while walking around Christmas in the Park. We had never noticed it before. When we saw "European Bakery," we got curious and walked in even though we weren't hungry. I want to say this: I've tried éclairs in many places across America, and they were never the flavor or texture I was looking for. But the éclair we tried here was incredible. What I loved most was that even though it had a generous amount of filling, it wasn't overly sweet. In many American desserts, there's so much sugar that it numbs your palate and makes it hard to taste the actual flavor of the pastry. This one was surprisingly light and delicious. You could clearly taste the aroma and everything was beautifully balanced. I absolutely loved it. If I had been hungry, I would've tried more items. But we will definitely come back to try new things. Also, the lady at the counter was very kind and attentive. Thank you!

Moldy bread. That's what I found sitting right on the counter at Bijan Bakery & Café in San Jose. Absolutely disgusting. I decided to give this place a second chance after a bad experience before -- big mistake. The refrigerated cases were fogged up and dripping with moisture, which screams refrigeration problems and potential bacteria and mold growth. Not something you ever want to see where food is stored. I grabbed what looked like a wrapped iced cookie -- turns out it wasn't sealed, tasted stale, and was so hard it could break a tooth. One bite and threw that away. Then I spotted the "fresh" sweet bread with visible mold all over the bottom. At this point, it's beyond disappointing -- it's a health hazard. I have no idea how this place is still open. Someone from the health department really needs to take a look.

My wife and I used to frequent their other Bijan Bakery & Cafe location off of Saratoga Ave & Kiely Blvd (closed down). But we've come here a few times over the years to get some cookies, pastries, or dessert. They are known for their Princess Cake. Inside and outside dining available. Its a very casual place. Overall, 3.5 stars but rounding up because we got our wedding cake from them many moons ago and people still remember how tasty each cake flavor was!

Would not recommend it. I was staying at the hotel next door and thought I'd walk in because it looked good. I got the vegetarian quiche and a cup of black coffee. Coffee was meh and the quiche was worse. They served it with a pickle and an orange . The place fails at the most basic level. Orange construction cones immediately when you walk through the door, holes in the ceiling, and I heard this loud incessant beeping behind the counter the entire time I was there. Really annoying. So basically the food was poor and the ambiance was terrible. Staff were friendly. I'm on the hunt for a better coffee shop.

Having traveled abroad this is a true European style bakery! We are here yesterday for breakfast, had great service and the food was fantastic! We liked it so much we're here for breakfast again today! If you can manage, I highly recommend slowing down a bit and having your breakfast here. Have a breakfast sandwich or authentic pastry, and a coffee drink prepared with care out of a real cup!

We had an amazing cake tasting at Bijan Bakery, and it was truly a memorable experience! Mr. Bijan himself took such wonderful care of us and he's every bit the legend people say he is. The cakes were absolutely delicious, light, moist, and perfectly balanced in sweetness. You can tell every creation is made with passion and decades of expertise. Bijan Bakery is more than just a bakery; it's a beloved part of Silicon Valley specifically in downtown San Jose. I feel so lucky that Mr. Bijan will be baking my milestone birthday cake! Highly recommend to anyone who wants the very best.

For the iced latte, shouldn't the milk go in after the espresso? Since it was the other way, the espresso was mainly on top and needed to be stirred. The inside of Moonwake is rather large for a coffee shop with plenty of seats and space, the outside has about 4-5 small "2 seat" tables. If you walk straight in "and keep walking" you will see their roasting room, that looks like a mad scientist lab with computers and beacons. It was pretty cool watching them proofing the coffee. I ordered a decaf iced Mocha with 1/2 & 1/2 and a Berry pistachio croissant, wifey ordered a regular coffee with room. Wifey's coffee had a delicate earthy flavor. "For regular coffee it was quite good" 4 stars My Mocha even with the 1/2 & 1/2 was good but did not have the body I like. 2.5 stars. "For said items $21.45" The Croissant was absolutely amazing, decadent, buttery, crispy, and chewy. Honestly it's the best one I've had short of Arsicault Bakery in San Francisco. Yeah man these are nearly that good! 5 stars for sure! The service was good and the employees were nice and helpful. Overall rating in my opinion, this place is solidly in the 4 star area. And I will be coming back for their croissants. :-D

I need to go back because everything I ordered was iced and I want to try some of the hot drinks. The shop itself is on the small side, with a couple tables for indoor seating and no outdoor seating. The interior boasts a curious modern-industrial vibe that I found pleasant and unique. Though I was lucky enough to grab a good spot, this isn't a prime study location--there aren't many outlets, they close at 5 (so not ideal for 9-to-5ers) and the seating is a little limited. That said, there is free WiFi and bathroom access, so if you have a well-charged laptop and a bit of luck, it's not a bad pick. Their offerings include a mid-sized array of espresso-based and tea-based drinks alongside a small selection of pastries. Though the pastries looked decent, I abstained in favor of the black sesame latte, which I liked a lot. The black sesame cream top is very delicious, though once it settles into the drink it can get a bit grainy with the coarser bits of black sesame. I really liked that it wasn't too sweet, but I wish the espresso was stronger. The drinks are on the somewhat pricier side at $7-$8 (though it feels as though I'm seeing this price range very often these days), and I feel that it is just on the cusp of being a little too much for what I am getting. While the drinks are fun and pretty good, the coffee itself doesn't stand out a ton. I definitely need to try more drinks to form a more cohesive opinion, though. Overall, it's a pretty solid spot, and they offer a fun array of some more standard café offerings alongside some unique signature and special crafted drinks. They did get my name wrong (even after I spelled it out for them), but other than that, the service was friendly and fast. I'll definitely swing by again if I can find the time.

With some coffees a second cup will give me a stomach ache (especially since I drink my cold brews black and bitter like my soul), but I had no problems with their cold brews! I also got the vegan stonefruit scone (baked by Sweet Dragon) and while a little on the dry side (common with scones), paired extremely well with the coffee and had good flavor. Husband got a cappuccino and a strawberry mini pie and was extremely pleased with his order. The service is friendly, but some things may have been new on the day we went. They almost forgot my cold brew until we asked at the counter, as well as stating that they didn't have anything to heat up my husband's strawberry pie (which seems odd, since a little toaster oven seems like a simple fix for that), but apparently it was fantastic at room temperature anyway. Seating was absolutely full when we got there and we were lucky to snag a table as another couple left, so it seems like a popular Saturday morning spot. Several folks were working on laptops, and it seems like a kid-friendly place. The decor is a clean and modern/trendy industrial style, which works well for the space, and the windows provide nice daylight. I decided to try a dulce de leche coffee. While I was expecting a strong caramel profile of dulce de leche, the flavor turned out to be fairly subtle rather than prominent. It added a significant sweetness, but without knowing the order beforehand, identifying the exact flavor would have been tough. That said, the coffee itself was still refreshing The high quality of the coffee bean really shone through, delivering a rich aroma and the ideal caffeine kick for a breezy morning.
