    Hazelnut crunch cake $11
    Scott F.

3/5: The hazelnut crunch cake looks great but is not as good as it looks. I don't get chocolate flavor complexity. It's like they used a generic mild chocolate flavor. hazelnut layer is also too tame. It's the type of cake where it seems like there are a lot of empty calories.

    Chocolate croissant

This is it - my final review. I've been coming to FF for 20 years and due the quality of their croissants, but I'm done after yet another radical change. The bread and chocolate have gone downhill. Chocolate is in one thick brick and tastes like eating mud, bread is dense and chewy, there's zero butter, and experience is boring. I don't understand why management continues to change such a unique and delicious croissant into one that looks and tastes like every other mediocre croissant out there. What are they thinking?? Flower Flour no longer stands out, which is incredibly disappointing. It's probably for the best since my kid is going to college now, who I have been taking here her whole life. Plus still bummed Ofel doesn't work here anymore. Bye!

Love after Dark cake and Ravishing Raspberry cake

Super yummy, ordered the Love after dark cake, the Ravishing Raspberry and the lemon bar. The lemon bar and the love after dark are my absolute favorite. So rich and flavorful. I ordered them for my coworkers going away present. 10/10 experience and packaging was great in transport!

I like the ambiance with nice little table and comfortable chairs. At 8 pm, I saw many people were in the stores and lots of cake selections in the display so I gave it a try. The cake looks yummy! But it tastes a little dry to me. I don't taste much flavors. The chocolate one is especially plain. I don't taste much cocoa flavor even though it's chocolate flavor. Maybe it was because late in the day and maybe the selections we picked didn't represent the store. Many people visited the store though. Maybe we would pick different items to try next time.

I've been wanting to swing by Flower Flour and I finally did today. I got a lemon bar. It was pretty tasty. For the price ~$6/7, the value was pretty good for the money. I think for a lemon bar it was tasty, but could've used more lemon flavor and/or sourness. I definitely couldn't finish it in one sitting so for me it'll last for another day! The service was great. I peeked at the other items and they are also pretty pricey as well in my opinion. The little cakes were around $10/11 each. Overall, I'd probably come back for a little beverage and sit out in their chairs.

    Almond Slice

Cute bakery with cute pastries. A little on the pricey side. Almond slice is covered in a thick layer of marzipan that made it a little hard to eat. The chocolate cake was very decadent, super rich. Service was pleasant.

Cute bakery in the Pruneyard shopping center. They have pretty desserts and taste great. I haven't had anything I didn't like so far. Their chocolate desserts are my personal favorite. I'll come back to try more seasonal items soon.

I've been here before but only Yelping now! The hyper-realistic cakes are insane! A baker was kneading dough, though I don't know for what. I only know it must definitely be something yummy. Ordered: Chocolate chip cookie 10/10. It was similar to a cake in texture & had plenty of chocolate chips. Guava mousse cake 10/10. Light & fluffy cake texture. Guava mousse flavor was perfect. Service was warm & there was seating inside, although not room for many people.

This is a very small bakery at the Pruneyard. It's in a good location with lots of parking. I didn't feel like anything was very special and it was expensive. My tiny dessert and brewed coffee was over $10 and the coffee wasn't good. The whole cake is $75 before tax and didn't seem that special just usual flavors. I could go to Lunardi's and get the same cake for 1/3 of the price.

    Guava mouse
    Jasmin M.

The guava mouse cake filling was pretty good. The ratio to cake and filling was just quite not there for me. The sponge was very light and crumbly. It fell apart easily when scooping. I wish there was more filling. The slice of banana cake is very hefty though.

    Chocolate Chip Cookie
    Trini S.

Cookies are cold and hard. Tiramisu is not soaked in espresso and dry- I'd call it a cupcake more than anything. Not pictured - lemon bar!!! While I was pretty disappointed with the cookie and tiramisu, the lemon bar saved the day! So delicious. Highly recommend that and only that. We also ordered a hot chai and I think my husband got a cold mocha or coffee drink and we both were sad that the drinks were even bad. It's so cute here and were hopeful to have a local bakery we could frequent, but this is not it /:

Delicious cakes, especially the raspberry chocolate one. OMG!!
    Xavier M.

This place is great! I've tried the cookies and the cakes, and they're excellent: decadent, for sure, but satisfyingly light as well. I'm very impressed with the staff, too, as they listen to what customers want and then do their best to meet those needs. I can't say enough about how much I like this business, and I will always recommend it to everyone I know with a sweet tooth--or without one, as well!

    7/7/24 FYI, Blueberry scones
    Lee D.

Quality/Quantity - Having dinner from Cam Hung at Out of the Barrel and now dessert from Flower Flour. Blueberry Scones - My choice, and I will save half for my breakfast tomorrow. Hazelnut Crunch - My wife's choice. I did not care for it, but then it might just be personal preference. Then my wife told me it was only a 3 star dessert also. Atmosphere - Beautiful clean local business. Indoor and outdoor seating. Open 7 days a week from 7:30am to 8pm or 9pm. Plenty of mall parking. Service - Good. Price - $15, expensive for what we got. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since 2005 and with your soon to be 3 locations.

The space has a modern yet warm feel with beautiful natural wood finishes, fresh loaves of sourdough lining the shelves, pastries displayed in the case, and a mix of large communal wood tables, regular seating, and high-top tables. It's the kind of café that makes you want to slow down and stay awhile. The staff was friendly and helped us choose both a pastry and our toast. They were also happy to customize our order--we asked for the levain sourdough toast with butter instead of the usual olive oil. That toast was absolutely divine. The sourdough had the perfect balance: chewy without being too sour, with a crust that was crisp but not so hard that it fought back. Easily the best sourdough toast I've had in the Bay Area. If you come here, this is the one thing you have to order. The only disappointment was the butter. They serve French butter, but for an extra $2, the portion was tiny and honestly nothing special. I've had better butter from Whole Foods. It didn't take away from how incredible the bread was, but it wasn't worth the upcharge. Their Kouign-amann is also one of the best I've ever had. Instead of the typical flat, flaky style, theirs is taller with countless buttery layers that create an amazing texture. The cappuccino was another highlight. It had subtle notes of orange peel, whiskey, and cardamom, making it unique. The latte art was beautiful too. Overall, Manresa Bread is one of those cafés that makes you want to sit down with a laptop or a book and spend a few hours there. The only downside is there are no power outlets, so come with a full battery if you're planning to work. Must orders: Levain sourdough toast with butter and the Kouign-amann. After checking out their yelp page I saw they had food as well so the plan was set to go for lunch. There's a small but empty enough parking lot along with street parking. I walked over around lunch time and there was one person ahead of me. I ordered a steak torta which seemed promising. The lady who took my order twisted my arm into getting a licuado (milkshake). While waiting for my food, I went next door for a drink and chips. My food was ready in less than 10 minutes and the line had grew by that time. The torta was really tasty and fresh, all the ingredients hit the notes needed. The bread stood out in good and bad ways. The flavor was above average but it crumbled quite a bit. There was enough inside to hold up to the thick bread so I cant complain. My biggest gripe is there wasn't any salsa on the side and I didnt see any in the store. Maybe I just didnt ask? But if there is some available, this place could be a hit out the park. There was also a slight taste of tuna in my sandwich. They may have used the same spatula for the mayo as the tuna perhaps, im not sure. I didn't get sick or anything so I won't complain too much, just mentioning it. Salsa woulda covered it and elevated it but this is just my take. The licuado was standard mexican childhood approved. 7 bones for the drink and my total was like 19 bucks. Thats very fair because the torta is filling enough for barely 11 dollars, great value.
