Best coffee place in Morro Bay! Rudie is so personable and his back patio is bursting with welcoming colors from flowers and budding friendships! The coffee is amazing too!

The owner recommended these stops on the way to Monterey!

So glad I stumbled upon this coffee shop on my motorcycle trip across the states. I was a bit hesitant at first, because often at small coffee shops the coffee is on the sour side. Not here. Both the Americano and cortado were just perfect!. Our Barista, took interest in our destination and upon learning that we were going to Monterey he took time to write a detailed travel plan for us listing food places where we had to stay. Turned out he wasn't just a barista, he was a world class chef who decided to open his coffee shop with the best coffee around! This coffee really made my morning! Thank you so much for the recommendation!

I ordered the chocolate razzberry cheesecake Mocha. Wow. Sunday is my cheat day so I also ordered a (gluten free) coffee cake, lemon bar, and (smelled so delicious) also ordered the breakfast burrito! I'll WALK to church today to burn these calories. All delicious! Very coastal cafe vibe. The barista was very friendly. There were regular customers who were bantering away about the Tesla they test drove and how they ended up in Morrow Bay 20 years ago. They fell in love with Californa and the hidden gem on this secluded coast... and so will you.

This café was a wonderful experience all around. The staff were so friendly, even bringing out the food to the dining area rather than I'm just calling my name to grab it. I got a quiche, which looked delicious in the pastry case, and looked even more delicious once they plated and warmed it up for me, adding both avocado and salsa to it. They really care about the food they make here, and it shows through the care with which it is served, even a to go order, as well as the quality and taste. I love the location as well as the ambience of this place. It is absolutely the perfect beach, town, coffee bar, with an amazing little dining patio, where the sunshine is just right in the morning.

The cashier and barrista were great, so friendly and personable. I got a chai and a rock burrito. The chai really impressed me. I'm kinda picky when it comes to tea, especially with chai since I make it at home with fresh spices. This one is great. The burrito was good. The ingredients were well blended and the salsa had a nice spicy kick.

Our go to spot every time we come to Morro Bay. Customer service is great, Rudy and staff make you feel welcome and the quiche go get you one. I mean run, this was a veggie quiche and salsa was tasty too!

Cute gift shop, decor with country tchatchkes, doing some minor handiwork during open time - was a bit distracting. Loud with echoes due to concrete floors. Lots of loud local conversations heard across the restaurant, including discussions about city council meetings, etc. 3% Credit Card fee not posted in the menu, but rather on the board at the entry. Some people might miss this posting, which is unfortunate. Sat at a small table even though several larger ones were available and no one waiting. Seem to specialize in breakfast, which I have had here before and it was fantastic!! Friendly folks. Bottomless sodas, but they were flat and tasted too syrupy. Could have also been diet even though I ordered regular. Green leaf lettuce so I ordered a salad with my bacon cheeseburger and fries on the side. I appreciate that the server knew it was cheaper to get fries on the side instead of the salad on the side. Fries were seasoned a bit too heavy-handed, the burger was great., bacon cooked perfectly. Server quick to refill soda as I ate my meal. I will probably return here, especially for breakfast, but will pay with cash next time. Clearing off my phone I found some old pics from Carla's, boy does that breakfast and sandwich to-go look great!!

Service was average, server was def busy running around taking care of many tables but getting us what we needed as soon as feasible. Food itself was just ok. It was fresh but I didn't find it flavorful unfortunately. The chicken fried steak was not a great texture to me. The biscuits were good and so was the gravy. The berry drink was too sweet. Maybe I just ordered the wrong items. I would be willing to try again as it was a cute spot.

I asked for a Mango something smoothie but no pineapple, be creative. The place has a good variety of drinks and edibles, sandwiches, salads, avocado toast, and on and on. If you don't see it they would probably make it for you. Now granted I was the only order being made at this moment and my smoothie was delivered to me as I sat at the bistro table out front. I was surprised how flavorful the smoothie was, I don't know why I thought that but it did taste good, a bit pricy. I'm good with pricy and this was backed up with quality ingredients and stellar service. Ah...yes and supporting local business is good for everyone Thanks, I'll see you again! Foodguy-Martin

There was also parking right in front, with no line, which was convenient. I wanted something fried, but when I saw that they use canola oil, I decided to go with the salmon tacos instead. Salmon isn't exactly a local fish, but it's usually a safe bet, especially when it's fresh frozen. I got the salmon tacos, which came as two tacos on two tortillas. The salmon was topped with a little cabbage and tomato, melted cheese, and what seemed to be some onion and cilantro. They also included a small serving of salsa. Overall, they were decent, but not the best salmon tacos I've had. One thing that was a little annoying was that some of the salmon had the dark "bloodline" still attached. I usually scrape that off because I find that part of the fish more bitter and strongly flavored. That's especially awkward with tacos because you're trying to remove it from pieces of fish that are already in the taco. I've had salmon tacos elsewhere where that part had been trimmed off, so there was nothing to deal with. No bones, though. The tacos were a little pricey at just over $20 with tax, but you're in a tourist area and it's California, so that wasn't exactly surprising. They made for a decent meal, and sitting outside was pleasant.

Unfortunately, each visit has felt a little less impressive than the one before it, and this most recent experience was disappointing enough that I probably would not return. Parking is usually easy, and I have never had to walk more than a couple of minutes. There are also a couple of EV spaces nearby. When my girlfriend and I walked inside, the restaurant felt unusually warm, humid, and stuffy. It was uncomfortable enough that we briefly considered leaving. We chose outdoor seating instead, but that comes with its own drawbacks. The tables are exposed to the afternoon sun, pedestrians walk just feet away, vehicles pass close by, and the working dock is nearby, so you hear forklifts, unloading equipment, and active fishing operations throughout the meal. We started with the Oysters Rockefeller, which I have ordered on all three visits. They were good and are honestly one of the main reasons I have continued returning. They are not easy to find where I live, and this version is enjoyable, even if it is not on the level of what I have had in places like New Orleans. My girlfriend ordered the clam chowder with bacon. We have been comparing clam chowders around the Central Coast, and unfortunately this one ranked last among the several we have tried so far. She described it as average and nothing memorable. I ordered the steamer clams, and this was easily the biggest disappointment. The very first clam I ate had noticeable grit in it, and unfortunately that continued through most of the bowl. I would estimate that the majority of the clams had some amount of sand or grit, which made them unpleasant to eat. I also found one clam that remained completely closed after cooking. I left it untouched. At a restaurant specializing in seafood, I expected more careful preparation and inspection. The broth was also surprisingly bland. I ended up adding hot sauce just to give it more flavor. As I worked through the broth, I also noticed three small hairs. I cannot say where they came from, but finding multiple hairs in the same dish was understandably concerning and further reduced my appetite. The service did not help. Our server took our order, delivered drinks and food, and eventually brought the check, but there was very little interaction between those points. No one checked whether we needed anything or asked how the food was going. That was especially frustrating because if someone had checked in, I would have had an opportunity to mention the problems with the clams while I was eating them. Overall, the Oysters Rockefeller were still good, but almost everything else about this visit was disappointing: the uncomfortable indoor environment, noisy outdoor seating, average chowder, gritty clams, bland broth, cleanliness concerns, and minimal service. I have enjoyed this restaurant more in the past, but after this experience, I think there are other places around Morro Bay where I would rather spend my money.
