While in Cambria, CA, taking in the sights and sounds, I heard good things about Linn's pies. And I do luv me some pie. So off we went to Linn's Easy As Pie Cafe. Just look for the building with the whimsical cartoonish pie statue out front. Darn cute! So many pie flavor choices. Slices, mini pies or whole pies. Sweet or savory. Plus the cafe menu includes sandwiches, wraps, panini's, salads, soup, stews, comfort food entrees, and hot dogs. The young man working the counter was fantastic. Sincerely friendly.welcoming, extremely helpful, and knowledgeable about the menu. Provided great recommendations. We ordered a hot dog $10. All beef. It was split grilled served with side of potato salad. And a slice of olallieberry pie $7. The dog had a nice quality snap, good flavor. The potato salad for me was just ok. The pie was heavenly. Perfect thickness of crust; it was dense, flaky and tender all around yummy. My tastebuds were doing a happy dance! The cafe has a charming farmhouse interior. The cafe interior tables were fitted with plastic table cloths. Not a fan of those. The back patio was super cute. The area is compact. Gorgeous flowers and plants all lushly thriving and blooming. Whimsical metal sculpture art . Water fountains that gave off a calming trickling water sound. The windmill structure was pretty cool. Dual purpose of up cycle art and patio cover. Almost every table had a huge umbrella providing shade. Next to the back patio are the restrooms housed in its own stand alone building. Could use a refresh. There are a few spots in the car lot in the back. But the lot is tiny and hard to maneuver about for larger vehicles. read more

Stopped in with the family as we were driving down from Big Sur because I was told that it was the place to have a slice of olallieberry pie. A quick online search will tell you that an olallieberry is a cross between a blackberry and a raspberry and it's all delicious . I had a slice of pie a la mode. My daughter had an olallieberry cream puff and my partner had a slice of cherry pie. All were so good, especially with a nice cup of coffee. We sat in the outside garden patio area on a lovely late spring day. It was perfect. The service was friendly and yes it can take a little long, but it's a small shop with one guy doling out the pies, so be patient , it's worth it. read more

We have been visiting Cambria since 2003, and we have a long-standing family tradition of eating at Linn's. I think I even have some earrings from the gift shop in their original restaurant before it burned down, and I definitely remember going to their farm for pies, preserves, and peacocks! My daughter and I ate at Linn's a few times during our most recent annual stay in Cambria. We ate in the restaurant twice plus an additional visit to grab some bakery items on the way out of town. We usually have pretty good service at the restaurant and if we don't then Manager Aaron Linn always wants to hear about it. This time, the server was off-putting and took a very long time to come ask for our order. It was something like 6 minutes! It wasn't until Aaron came to check on us and saw we only had water that the server came to take our order. She didn't give eye contact and seemed generally distant. I prefer a server who smiles at me. My daughter had an issue with her dish, but she didn't want to speak up and get the server upset. I told her to just leave it and got her something elsewhere. We've been to Linn's so many times I'm sure our next visit will be perfect! read more

We stopped by to pick up our lunch order to take on an outing we had planned for the afternoon. The lunches were tasty. We all ordered different wraps: tuna, turkey, chicken. The only mistake is that 1 wrap can easily feed 2 people. We will certainly adjust for that next time. We also grabbed slices of pie for our lunches. The staff were super helpful getting our drinks and getting us on the road in good time. We had ordered ahead of time and I certainly recommend that. This is a small cafe that is separate from Linn's store and their sit-down restaurant. In addition to food, it has tons of trinkets and stuff to spend money on. There are limited pies, cookies, brownies and food items available for purchase. Sandwiches, soup, salads, chili.... If you go after lunch, be warned--they tend to run out of items quickly. The line is often out the door, and it doesn't move fast. But if you want a slice of pie or some delicious chili, it may be worth it to wait. The last time I went, I picked up some brownies, huckleberry licorice, and a cup of chili. All was delicious. I was a little frustrated by the length of time it took to get through the line, but the food was good. read more

Wish I could have liked it more. Wanted to go to the main restaurant but they don't allow dogs there. So we went to the Cafe. Chicken pot pies were pretty solid, the rest was meh. Salmon quiche seemed to have been reheated in a microwave, the same for the mac and cheese. All the sauce had been absorbed (seemed like it was made the day before) and it was just a big lump of stuck together mac rewarmed. Not a satisfying dish. This needs to be served fresh or if it's going to be reheated, at least make some fresh bechamel to keep it tasty and moist. Just average food for what are now average prices. read more

Linn's Cafe overall is just ok. The food is not bad at all, but it is not spectacular either. The service was, however, excellent. The man behind the counter on our visit was very friendly, helpful, and efficient. On a Tuesday around 4:30-5:30 they were pretty deserted for dinner and it was quiet. There is limited street parking.nearby, but be sure to read the posted signage as we saw someone getting towed. There is also limited indoor and a bit more outdoor seating. You order at the register like fast food and they give you a number and bring you your food, but you bus your own table when you are done. We got the chicken pot pie, the tomato basil bisque, and the pecan and old fashioned apple pies. The chicken pot pie was not the creamy filling kind, but rather the soupy vegetable kind. The crust seems the same as the pies. The filling was not bad at all, but honestly it tasted like Campbell's vegetable soup. We just prefer the creamy filling for chicken pot pies. The tomato basil bisquealso tasted like Campbell's, which was ok for us because we like that. However, it was more acidic than Campbell's which was hard on the stomach. Unlike Linn's restaurant and other restaurants in town, Lin's Cafe serves you pies by the slice, except for Dutch Apple and one other because they are not popular enough in this area to sell by the slice. We definitely recommend getting any pie à la mode because the pies are just not good enough plain to enjoy without ice cream. Over the course of our stay in town, we tried several of Linn''s pies and the pecan is the best. None of the others are bad, just other places make them better than Linn's. Linn's old fashioned apple pie is just ok, bur, for example, the apple pie in Julian, San Diego, CA, is much better than Linn's. This is a tourist area and like everywhere it is impacted by inflation and CA minimum wage laws. Consequently, the pricing, especially for drinks, makes the value very low for what you get. We definitely recommend trying this place and trying their pies, but it is not a stellar experience. On the whole, Linn's restaurant is better dining experience. 3-4 stars is about right, 3 for the food and 4 for the service. read more

Cute, quaint spot for a quick lunch. We stopped in after touring Hearst Castle, about a 15 mins drive south. Order at the counter. We got the turkey wrap and the grilled cheese with tomato soup, both were solid. The wrap was generous enough to split. As a casual offshoot of the sit-down restaurant 'Linn's' next door, Linn's Easy As Pie Cafe provides counter service with a focus on their pies (both savory and sweet), but also providing a small selection of soups, salads, sandwiches. Our group of three stopped in between breakfast and lunch time on a weekday, and had an enjoyable meal. Located in the small village of Cambria, Linn's Cafe is one of many food ventures in the area founded and operated by the Linn family. The cafe started as an emergency replacement for their restaurant, when it was heavily damaged by fire in 2006. After the restaurant was moved back after remodeling, the replacement was kept going as a less formal cafe selling their very popular pies, including their savory chicken pot pie. It wasn't too busy when we stopped in. The menu is displayed on chalkboard, and a daily special board (sandwich, quiche, soup) on a post. We made our choice, ordering food and drink from the counter, paying for it using Toast POS, and found seating in the back. Cell service was spotty in Cambria, so the free wi-fi in the cafe was welcomed and used. The food was delivered tableside directly from the kitchen in about 10 minutes. Linn's Famous Chicken Pot Pie with mashed potato ($17) - the menu picture didn't really match what was given, and the real version was more deconstructed: It had a flakey pie crust on top, with the chicken and vegetable filling loosely below. It makes sense to serve it this way for more quickness but still maintaining that freshness of not maintaining it under a heat lamp. The filling had large chunks of chicken, and well cooked vegetables in a thinner but flavorful broth. It was good, and the accompanying whipped potatoes and gravy was a great addition. It ended up being one of my mother-in-laws favorite dishes on our trip. Grilled Cheese with cup of Tomato Bisque ($13) - a very good rendition of grilled cheddar cheese. The bread was sturdy and well toasted with butter butter under a panini press, and the cheese was good quality and quantity. It was absolutely delicious dipped in the good tomato soup. Of course, there is always a lot of soup left long after the sandwich is gone: I ate the rest of the soup gladly, which isn't always the case. Soda was self serve and $2 a can. In keeping with the theme, everything was disposable so we self-bussed. Before we left, I checked out the back patio dining area. It had plenty of shade and room, and would have been a good place to have a meal as well. It's also a good place to stop when passing through for a snack break, or just peruse souvenirs from Cambria. read more

Linn's Easy as Pie is a must try if you are in the Cambria area! Delicious food, great service, and a wonderful atmosphere. The wait time was about 45 min, but I will say it was worth the wait. The fish was perfectly battered and crispy. The crab melt was toasty and had great flavor. The coleslaw was different, but great! I enjoyed the bites of green apple and cranberry in there. I walked away with a full happy belly and ready to go back. The savory, pictured here- a beef pot pie, which is a seasonal item, was delicious and a good switch up from the normal chicken pot pie. My grandma, husband, and I are in town on vacation and decided to give this spot a try. We're so glad we did! Linn's is a well-known restaurant on Main Street in Cambria where the pies steal the show in all three stores: the restaurant being the biggest one. Service is friendly. Breakfast is pretty straightforward served. Nothing particularly special, but it's all good. There's not an awful lot of choice for breakfast in Cambria so this place is popular and-I guess- a real Cambria icon in town. The pies deserve 4 stars, the staff gets 4 whereas I'm giving the breakfast 3.5. read more

This spot is off Main Street on Bridge st. It is not as busy as all of the other places in town including the Linn's Restaurant. You walk up to order and they bring it to your table super fast. If you have pets there is an amazing space outside to eat with your pets. The garden and fountain is so relaxing. Everything on the menu is great. Don't forget to have a little pie! My friend and I were visiting Cambria and we were hungry, lol.. I searched local favorites on Yelp and this place appeared! We arrived at the bistro and we were told dinner hours began at 5. It was 4:30...The staff suggested we walk up the hill to the cafe. Up the hill we went! I ordered the chicken berry salad (seasonal) $16.00 with a slice of Raspberry Rhubarb pie $7.00. They give you a number and you seat yourself outside under a table with an umbrella. I loved their cute outdoor area with plants and water fountains. It was so relaxing! My salad was so delicious! It had strawberries, blueberries, walnuts, romaine lettuce, seasoned chicken, feta cheese, and a berry vinaigrette of some sort. The raspberry pie was delicious too!
