I was pleasantly surprised to find a Bikanerwala shop in Overland Park since there aren't many Indian restaurants around Kansas City, and I must say it was such a sweet addition! [[HIGHLIGHT]]It just opened in July, and the moment you walk in, you're greeted by the fresh aroma of sweets and savory dishes.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It's a 100% vegetarian restaurant, so no meat or fish is served. They have a wide variety of sweets from all over India (my favorite was the Bengali sweets). They also offer beautifully crafted gift baskets for Diwali, along with Indian dry fruit gift trays that would make perfect festive gifts. At the restaurant, we tried the chole bhature and raj kachori with tea. The chole bhature were so delicious that they took me right back to India, and the raj kachori was great too. I loved that the tea didn't come with sugar already added, which is rare in other Indian spots where it's often too sweet. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant was very clean, and the staff were really polite.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] One of them even stopped by our table to check on how we liked the food! [[HIGHLIGHT]]They were also playing some nice Hindi songs in the background, which I really enjoyed.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Overall, I had a great experience, and if you're in the mood for some veggie food and want to try a variety of Indian sweets, definitely give this place a try!

I like Indian food but am no expert. The menu was set up differently than what I am used to (from Seattle). It didn't matter, the staff was sooo friendly and helped me pick the perfect dish - tomato based masala sauce with paneer and rice. I know there is a big focus on sweets at Bika, but I came for the entree and leave very very pleased. The flavors were wonderful and the medium spice level was perfect for me. Go mild if you aren't used to spice. The rice and a plain naan helped soak up the amazing sauce. I didn't need the raw red onion garnish, although pickled might have been nice. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I really like the vibe of this place, bright colors, clean and excellent tunes kept me bouncing through the meal.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I will definitely come back when in town and looked forward to a Bikanervala coming to Seattle soon(I hope).

Nice variety of vegetarian street food options. Overall the chaats weren't bad. They also have packaged snacks you can buy.

This is the vegetarian Indian restaurant that KC needed! We stopped in for dinner and ordered the deluxe thali and seasonal thali, which are both combo plates with around five dishes, including rice and a dessert. These were delivered relatively quickly on large trays, along with naan and parantha breads; the idea is to use the breads to pick up the dishes, creating a delicious mini sandwich in each bite. Our food was delicious all around, and you really can't go wrong with any of Bikanervala's thali combinations. We ordered medium spice level, which was perfectly zingy without being overpowering. Our server was friendly and helpful in creating the thali combinations that would be ideal for us. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I also enjoyed the ambiance, which is bright and open, with upbeat Indian music and festive decor.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Definitely recommend a visit!

I liked the good variety of vegetarian Indian foods, sweets and snacks and the first-rate service at this new restaurant, but the kitchen was a little slow. My tandoori platter ($15.99) was served with a smile 27 minutes after I ordered at the table. It had generous portions (maybe enough for two) of delicious dishes and several pieces of warm, delicious naan with plenty of flavor and a medium spice level. I was their first customer, which was cited as the reason for the delay. Each employee I encountered was cheerful, polite and helpful - including the manager. I also noticed a focus on cleanliness. I found the dining area to be festive, clean, new and open with Indian background music and plenty of natural light. They offer many Indian desserts, packaged Indian snacks and an extensive selection of vegetarian Indian dishes. Overall, very nice!

Decent Indian restaurant! Tried out the Tandoori Platter. It came with paneer tikka, dal makhani, and butter naan. It was really good! Paneer pieces were decent quality and had good flavor. The dal was also really good. The naan went well with both the dal and paneer. Service was also decent (the food was bought out fairly quick). Only thing that I wish could have been improved upon was the spice level. Asked for a mild level of spice, and after a little while, the heat in the paneer and dal was a little too much for me (even though they had great flavors). As long as you can eat a little bit of spice, this hopefully shouldn't be too much of an issue. Overall, I still enjoyed the food at this restaurant!

Their food is as authentic as we can get. This is the real taste of India. The chole bhature are exactly like you get in Delhi and the Mango Lassi is phenomenal (has chunks of mango in it ). Its an all vegetarian place, so plenty of vegan options as well.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Great ambience, friendly service, love that it's a drive thru but we did eat inside, and it took a few minutes to come out.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Both dishes were delicious, loved the puffed rice in my partners dish and mine was spicy and the plain naan balanced it PERFECT. The naan was a little flakey, which isn't my preference, but not a dealbreaker

Oh darn I didn't get a picture of the food fast enough it was so delicious and yes we ordered way too much!!!

Okay this new place has been open a day and a half, technically they're in their second day and they were slammed and I have to say they did a fabulous job --staff is on it they're doing their best and yes it's hectic. Let's get to the food it is vegetarian but as the meat eaters of the nine person party who were a little skeptical they all commented how happily full they were at the end of the meal. I literally think we got one of everything and everyone loved all of it and would give it a five-star rating maybe the saug might get a four by all but I love saug. I think we all would say if we went back we would get the platter a The platters ( Tolly) cool and you get a little bit of everything including the fun little pink dessert. It's in a nice fresh colorful place don't go there if you want tablecloth service but it was a fun place to be. Dal and paratha at top of my list I'm definitely going to go back.

    Idli Sambhar

I found out about this place recently. It's vegetarian but they are very accommodating for vegans. Staff is friendly and was able to help me order some really tasty food. I ordered masala dosa and idli sambhar. I'm not Indian but the food was well spiced and had amazing flavor. I was pleasantly surprised to find food of this quality here. Pricing is reasonable, I was able to get full on an empty stomach for around $20. I will be bringing my friends and family here!

When we told her it was our first visit to the restaurant, she took the time to carefully go over the menus with us (regular, happy hour, and drinks), providing her recommendations when we asked. Her guidance was spot-on-target! For drinks, I had a Mindful Chai and my friend had the 3-Beverage Flight (Golden Hour, Heart Says Thanks, and Tres Raices). My chai was the BEST I have ever tasted (and I order chai every chance I get!), and my friend loved her 3 drinks (she said Tres Raices was her favorite). For our food, we split an order of the Not Queso Dip and the Avocado Tostadas. We were both very impressed by how fresh the ingredients were, and the blend of flavors in each dish that created a unique and yummy taste. The Kitchen has an open, airy layout that inspires deep breathing, while the arrangement and spacing of tables still provides for intimacy of conversation and minimal ambient noise. Sofhia checked back with us several times during our meal to ensure we had everything we needed and were thoroughly enjoying our food and drink (we were!). It was a delightful meal, and we thank Sofhia, the kitchen staff, and everyone at Whole Harvest Kitchen for such a lovely time. We'll be back!!

We hit the club for brunch with a group, and while the ambiance was pure "Country Club Chic," the execution was a bit more "Sunday Morning Sand Trap." The Liquid Courage I started off my round with two drinks. the Bloody Mary. It was fine--tasty enough, but it certainly didn't change my life or inspire any poetry. However, things got interesting with their Tequila/Cold Brew/Liquor 43 concoction. Topped with an egg foam cap, it was actually pretty solid. A bit of a gamble, but sometimes you have to roll the dice when the menu is trying that hard. The Culinary "Hit and Miss" Then came the food, or as I like to call it: The Great Consistency Crisis. The Steak: I asked for medium-rare; I received medium-well with a "char" that felt more like a personal vendetta against the cow. The Potatoes: Apparently, potato portions are determined by a lottery system. I received about half the amount of the person next to me. Maybe I didn't look hungry enough? The Eggs: My over-easy eggs had crispy, hard edges and arrived at a temperature I'd describe as "lukewarm at best." We also had to hunt down salt and pepper like we were on a scavenger hunt. Honestly, I probably should have just hit the buffet and cut out the middleman. The Service Our server was perfectly nice, but he appeared to be roughly twelve years old. Since he wasn't legally old enough to understand the complexity of a craft cocktail, he couldn't give us any info on the drink menu. We just had to "go with our gut"--which is a dangerous game when tequila and cold brew are involved. The Verdict I'm not saying I won't be back, but consider this a fair warning: if Round 2 involves another charred steak and a side of "room temperature" eggs, I'll be sending it back for a rerun faster than a shanked drive into the woods. 3/5 Stars -- Great for people-watching, questionable for potato-equity.

We thought, why not try something new. Maybe it will be delicious! And we heard they might have vegan options! (They didn't.) First impression: the place is empty. I point out the sign at the front that says "GET READY TO HAVE SOME UN" and raise my eyebrows and my hungry wife manages a smile. I couldn't wait to find out what having some UN means! I'd like to see you guys eat a salad without a fork by the way. We scanned menu, saw nothing vegan IN THE YEAR 2026 AD and asked about vegan options. We were told there's vegetarian options but we are so hungry at this point why not try it. After all, this is supposed to be the best burger in Overland Park. There's the avocado taco (it has aioli on it tho thats probably not vegan) and they used to have a "portobello taco", but it got taken off the menu, and besides, to make it vegan you apparently have to take off the pesto and the cheese, leaving you with a mushroom and a piece of arrrrrugula on a dry tortilla, because 100% of sauces are animal based. It's Kansas City just put some barbecue sauce on it or something. They have an Impossible Burger, with which we are familiar, but the bun is an "egg bun" and for the vegan burger you get a gluten free cardboard bun, lettuce, tomato, zero condiments, and no salt or pepper, and you'll EAT IT AND LIKE IT. Come on, give me my gluten! I know you have only met 1 vegan in your life but most vegans aren't gluten free! We want just a regular bun is that too much to ask?! In 2026?! Is the UN for unseasoned? Un Bun? Unsatisfying menu? Does the UN allude to when the United Nations sanctioned this burger for war crimes? Look it up, 2018. So we got the Impossible Burger and truffle fries (fries sold separately because this country is going into the toilet) and sat down. Food came out fast enough. Fast AND casual. My wife almost burst into tears when she bit into the burger, not tears of joy either. She recalled a terminally ill patient that she had, in order to feel better about this burger. I said come on, cant be that bad. I took a bite and the complex flavors took me back in time to when I was a little lad, in the elementary school cafeteria line, being bullied by the other kids, being yelled at to hurry up by the wrinkly lunch lady as she slopped a bland half frozen meat puck onto the dishwater wet surface of my plastic lunch tray. Ahhh yes, this un-seasoned un-flavored un-glutened un-burger tasted just like that memory. And what's this! A bonus hair in the truffle fries! Unclean! Unwashed? Or underwear hair? It did taste like truffles... Either way, unbelievable. We choked down the best burger that the culinary Mecca of Overland Park has to offer, like the hungry little piggies we were, and left, unappetized and undignified. Avocado taco was alright though. If i had to rate the "truffle fries", I would be forced to go with the Unrated Edition, on account of the "seasoned curlies" I found in there. Now, in post-burger clarity, one can only wonder: if you asked the staff at Unforked for a fork, would they fork it over or do they just not give a fork?

They absolutely have the processes of this little restaurant honed to perfection, and even during a busy lunch time kept things humming so that there was minimal wait time (to order, for the food to be brought out, and to pay for our meal). Many, MANY thanks to Robert, who seated us, took our order, brought our food out, and settled our bill. He was friendly, efficient, and so welcoming. It was a joy to watch him work; he made sure to greet each and every customer coming in the door, and was consistently so upbeat and positive. And many, MANY thanks to Tony at the grill! Our food was FANTASTIC!! I have high standards for Mediterranean food, and the falafel wrap was totally delicious! The falafel itself was perfectly cooked, with a crispy outer layer, and the other ingredients in the wrap were chosen for a perfect melding of flavors. I had the side salad, with homemade Thai peanut dressing, and it was equally tasty. My husband had the patty melt, which came on homemade bread (!) and was, per his report, perfectly done. His side was tater tots, and we shared them. They were crisp and light without being greasy, and addictively yummy! The restaurant is in a strip center; it's not very big, but the tables are well placed so that no one feels cramped. The open reception area and kitchen/grill make it easy for the staff to respond to what's happening in the dining room (e.g., new folks arriving). What happened next changed everything about my experience. I was asked if I was going to dine-in or take-out. My response was "I'd like to dine in assuming you have wifi?" She responded that they did and gave me the password. A man behind the counter who I assume is the owner or manager then stepped in and berated her right in front of me. In a super harsh tone, he said to her "don't ever give the Wi-Fi password to anyone. We need to collect their email."
