Once again, I received an order in a cheap white cardboard box that wasn't taped shut, with the bag not tied closed. This ongoing issue is unacceptable. I've already spoken to your front store manager and provided feedback personally, yet nothing has changed. Doordash simply delivers the food--they don't handle how it's secured. Why is it so hard to ensure that the expensive items I pay for are properly secured before they leave your store? Please stop jeopardizing my time, money, and patience. The Mixx on the Plaza is my preference because they offer a lot more drink and dessert options however the food at both locations remains consistent. I took myself to this one for lunch and sat outside and every thing was clean and quiet and I enjoyed every moment of the space. The Mixx is one of my favorite lunch spots in KC. It is one of the few salads that I actually crave. My order will always be the Garden of Eden with chicken, chopped of course. This time, I tried the steak sandwich as well. It was delicious, but very oily. The flavor was very rich. So between the richness and how oily the sandwich was, I was tired of it pretty quickly. A friend of ours recommended that we try The Mixx after we commented on liking another salad place up the street. He works at the Apple store and frequent this place for lunch. My wife and I arrived just after 12 noon on a Tuesday and the place was doing a brisk business. There were a few spots available to sit, which was nice consider considering how busy they were. The instructions for ordering were very clear and we knew where to go and what to do. I appreciated that because of the many offerings they have. We opted for a sandwich and soup rather than salad on this particular day. I had the country club sandwich and the turkey was very good and of high-quality. The bread tasted a little bit stale with the edges and the crust being a little chewier than they should be. The soup of the day was a lemon lentil soup and it was delicious. It was a vegetarian soup and I didn't miss the meat at all. My wife had a blue cheese and beef sandwich on a focaccia bread. The bread was amazing and the beef was amazing but the blue cheese was way too much. We both thought that there was too much sauce on it and it ruined the sandwich. We would preferred about 1/3 of the amount of sauce that they put on it. It really overpowered the sandwich and was not something we were able to finish. However, her pasta salad was great! Came here with my wife and friends on a Saturday afternoon. Definitely a busier spot around usual 12-2pm time. I got the classic BLT and overall it was good in terms of the flavors within the sandwich. Good tang, and the onions were balanced with the other ingredients. The menu has no pricing which is bizarre - you have to scan a QR code for that. Why? Maybe because it's overpriced? My salad was close to 19 dollars . I have been here a few times for lunch with some coworkers, however, this visit was with my daughter on a Wednesday evening. I got the tomato soup and sweet potato fries and she made her own salad. The tomato soup was pretty bland. The sweet potatoes were just average. I had a couple of bites of my daughter's salad that was similar to a Cobb salad and again was little underwhelmed with the taste of it. The prices here are pretty expensive considering I had to pay $22 for her salad. That's likely won't come out here again due to prices and taste. read more

I had never been so I was unsure of what to expect when I walked inside. The decor was super cute with the color scheme and the tables. There was open seating at tables inside or outside on a small patio area. There was ordering for sandwiches and wraps at one counter and a separate counter for salads. It was helpful having the menu posted on a big screen to help with my order. I decided to get the fried cod fish sandwich with pasta salad. The sandwich was topped high with fish and toppings and once I cut it in half, it got messy with the toppings falling out but it tasted good. It was a nice sized sandwich and I ate all of it. I tasted the pasta salad but was too full to eat that, so I put that in a to go container for later. I will say the pasta salad was just okay and I am not sure I would order that again. When ordering sandwiches, you can only choose pasta salad or chips without an up charge. Things to note, you grab napkins, utensil, to go containers, condiments, etc. from a counter if you eat inside the restaurant. read more

Anyone who has read any of my reviews knows salads just aren't my thing. Although I'll stand by that, if I were to choose to eat one, it'd definitely be from a place like this. They have an effective system for ordering a huge assortment of salads and sandwiches. Go one way to order items off the menu or try the other and step through their salad station where a nice chef will freshly toss your order. There are lots of preset options on the menu but substitutions and additions are just a matter of asking and you can build your own. I've never seen so many fresh toppings for a salad and my Chisaya Mama with salmon was stocked with complimentary flavors and textures. Easy for take out or enjoy the clean and modern feel of the restaurant. My mom and I spent almost $40 on two salads, but they both had an added protein and were certainly better than your average bowl of greens. read more

I wish they still had the chicken salad sandwich on croissant, but since that's no longer on the menu, my friend ordered the Pretzel Chicken Sando, and chose the pasta salad for her side. She was very pleased. It was enough for 2, so she took some home. They have to-go containers near the self-serve drinks area. I ordered the Asian Shrimp Bowl and I'm so happy I did. You order a predetermined salad and can add to it or you just tell them what to put in it from scratch while you stand there and look at the arrangement of ingredients available. We're from Houston, so this was our first time to The Mixx. It's very similar to Houston's Salada. You can build your own salads or choose a from a pre-made list. The small salad with a cup of soup is ample. The large salad (maybe $2 more) is huge. At first glance, the menu choices are almost overwhelming. Some of the sandwiches and wraps looked really good as well. All three of our salads were fresh, flavorful and not killed with dressing. Our soups were hot, although my wife thought the Gaspachos was blended to finely. My pork pozole was excellent with just the right amount of spice. The ordering process is bit confusing. There's an "order here" sign, but you don't order from there. Unless you're getting a sandwich. Maybe the sign should say "order sandwiches here". We enjoyed our visit to the Mixx. I've gone here for almost a decade and it used to be the same stuff on the menu, except the meat would be cold, fries cold, and salad additions stale. But these days it's always warm and fresh. Our service was a 3/5. Behind the salad counter, he explained little to nothing about how the different process worked. But the ladies at the registers, who also delivered our food, were both great! The food was 3/5. It was all super fresh, but I have never refused to finish a salad because it was DRIPPING in dressing. It was twice as much dressing than edible. Then to find a huge ball of dates at the bottom of my bowl (not chopped dates, whole dates), it just showed that a few extra steps of prep can go a long way to helping the customers enjoy their food. I'd like to extend a thank you to The Mixx! A while back at the plaza location I had a not-so amazing experience. The team sent me a $15 gift card so I gave it another go at a different location that I happened to be passing a few weeks back. This experience was much better! Pretty decent, fresh, and healthy food. Nothing to rave about, but it's a good quick stop if you're in the mood for something tasty and healthy. I had the half size thai salmon salad, and it was pretty okay. Sauces were about what I expected, nothing too unique or special. The ordering process was somewhat confusing- there is a specific place to order sandwiches, drinks, and combo plates. I had to stand in line and order with the chefs to get a salad, then paid at the other end. I think they could simplify this process and make it more efficient. It seemed like a hassle for the chef to write down my order, changing in and out of gloves. I took my order sheet to the cashier, so that she could ring me up. It was a strange process. I really should eat healthier, you know, vegetables and the like, so a place like The Mixx *should* take precedence over another burger or bucket of wings. But my inner monologue plays the Seinfeld mantra from the 'Man Hands' episode ('just a salad...just a salad') every time I try and make dietary changes. Voices aside, The Mixx is serving up fabulous combinations, made to order right in front of you. No, it's not just salads, as wraps, sandwiches, pasta bowls, and quinoa bowls speckle the menu. I've only sampled the salads, however, so take my observations with a grain of Himalayan pink sea salt. The Santa Fe chicken salad has been a winner, with grilled chicken and other southwestern-y additions adorning a bed of mixed greens and romaine. Pro tip: add pepitas, or pumpkin seeds for the uninitiated. The jalapeño-lime dressing is a perfect pairing to the rustic flavors of the salad. The other top choice for me has been the Rocket salad, a mix of greens, avocado, goat cheese and more splashed with a champagne-honey vinaigrette. The dressing alone is probably a highly guarded recipe secret! I've even tried to recreate this at home and mine doesn't have the unicorn tears or whatever The Mixx uses to create this amazing concoction. Word to the eager: pick your time wisely, because The Mixx can get crammed with other hungry patrons, many of whom have the luxury of time on their hands. The sweet spot seems to be 11:30 and then maybe again at 12:45, but there is plenty of seating both inside and out. If I knock The Mixx a star it is due to price and throughput. But the fare is very good and the presentation is outstanding! read more

I was disappointed with that because this place is pricey since they focus on fresh produce but at least give me my money's worth of protein (chicken). My husband tried the chicken sandwich on a pretzel bun, his sandwich was delicious and full of flavor the only thing was that the bun wasn't exactly "pretzel" material. The French fries were a no no. No flavor they didn't even compare to McDonald fries which I also don't care for but I'd say McDonalds fries are above these fries on the Totem poll.
