One of the Best Experiences I've Ever Had!…read more We recently participated in a team scavenger hunt with Pedego Electric Bikes Indy and it was an absolute blast! As someone who hadn't ridden a bike in over 20 years, I was a little nervous -- but the electric bikes were incredibly easy to maneuver and so much fun to ride! Scot and Cathy, the wonderful owners, made the entire experience smooth, welcoming, and memorable. Their kindness and passion for what they do really shines through. I'm new to Indy, so solving the clues and discovering local landmarks added an extra layer of excitement. Chatting with Scot and Cathy to see if we guessed correctly made our victories even sweeter! And of course, I can't forget the real stars of the show -- Hamilton and Schuyler, the adorable "employees of the month," who greeted us with wagging tails and made us feel right at home. I may be a little biased (our team did win, after all), but this was hands down one of the most enjoyable experiences I've had. They have several bike options but I've always gotten the double or single surrey bike. You can fit 4 adults or a couple of adults and many kids. The staff is so helpful and explains how to operate the surrey. There's a helpful map that also has their phone number in case you fall into the canal or something. Only kidding! You won't... It's such a fun way to bop around the canal and take in the sites! Double surrey is $39/hour.

We didn't want to risk having our nice bicycles stolen since we were on a long road trip. We did not want to rent the local contract biycles but wanted the better bicycles that Quiptu provided. Quiptu was started when one of the founders was invited to mountain bike across Montana but could not find a good bicycle to rent. Quiptu provided us great bicycles for $50/day including a bicycle lock. John picked up our bicycles at the time that we said we would meet him at one of the Monon Bicycle Trail parking lots. John said we could be flexible with our time but asked us to give him a 20-30minute notice.. They also rent out camping equipment, paddleboards, kayaks. I like how it has a basket in front to put things in and it has a lock also. I only wish it had a bottle holder for water bottles and things like that. It's easy to download the app that will tell you what bike number will release for you to take and ride. Bikes are nice and taken care of and reliable. You can find all the Pacers Bikeshare locations on the app as it will pull up what location is closest to you where you currently are at. Make sure when you return it to click it into the corral and it will let you know when it's returned correctly. Great organization that I'm glad they have here in Indy!

When the weather is nice out this is definitely a nice way to get some exercise in. The prices for the bikes are really reasonable. You can find the bikes in broadripple area, downtown Indy or the South side of town. If you live in Indy you could sign up for a program to get the bikes for free for 30min and then if you ride longer than that you would have to pay for the difference. You do have to download an app and create an account in order to ride the bikes. I wish they had bikes located in the Castleton area especially with them building a trail that goes up to fishers. I definitely enjoyed my time on the bike though. It was a nice day and I was able to get some nice cardio in.
