I had just purchased a new bike and realized right as I was beginning my ride that I needed different cleats for my shoes. I went to The Bike Shop and realized they were closed on Sunday. However, an employee was loading bikes in for what looked like service and asked me what I needed. I told him but made it clear that I realized they were closed and I didn't want to trouble him. Nevertheless, he was adamant that he help me out, rung me up for the appropriate cleats, and even asked if I needed help with the install. I told him I was good because I had a multi tool and he told me to come back if there were any issues. It's hard to find such good service and kindness. It's also an example of why local bike shops are so important. I will come back for all of my future bike needs even though it isn't the closest shop because you can't beat great service. read more

Everyone in this store are super helpful and lovely. I brought my bike in to get a tune up, and to inquire about getting a different bike since my current one is about ten years old and my needs have changed. The price for the tune up was really reasonable; the turn around for getting my bike done was much faster than I was expecting as well. They also answered all my questions, and were totally willing to take the time to explain some of the more technical things in a way that someone who doesn't know a whole lot about bikes would understand. read more

So disappointed. I tried to rent and ride a mountain bike at this store. I try to ride anytime I am traveling. Went in to rent a mountain bike for the afternoon. They had an Ok bike. I was ready - then I asked how much. Expecting it could be a little expensive, like $50 or so. Much to my shock . . . They want $100. A HUNDRED DOLLARS!! I told him I've never seen that kind of price. He elated to 'that's the cost in this area'. That mountain bike cost them the same as it cost in every area. I am blown away by the attempted gouge. My midsize rental car that cost $30,000 is only costing me $60 a day. I guess they're trying to pay for that bike and just a dozen rides or so. Good luck. read more

I recently used this company to overhaul a 1982 12 speed. I gave it to my Daughter and paid them to fix it up. They gave me an accurate quote before service and when I picked up the bike it was better than what I was expecting. They cleaned it up and the guy ( I'm sorry I don't remember his name) offered to help my put it in my truck, I refused but he still went to the door to help me out with it. WOW!! I can't begin to say how much I appreciate this bike shop. They are truly professionals and great people. I wanted a new mountain bike and I'm not one who can just outright afford a nice bike. They help me easily make a reasonable choice in the bike I like and I could make payments while it was held for me. They seem to treat you as family and not just a number. When I came to finally pick up my bike it was ready on the showroom floor with the pedals I requested. I will be bringing my street bike in for service and my daughter's bike. My rear shifter cable disconnected from the shifter on Chalk Hill Rd this morning, so I googled a close bike shop, called these guys, and headed straight there in my smallest cog. Ben was friendly, professional and immediately started replacing the broken cable. When he was finished, I took it for a quick spin and my rear shifter hasn't shifted this smoothly in weeks! A buddy and I could get a few more miles instead of ending the ride right there thanks to this shop. They also have a lot of nice road and mountain bikes of all prices, and they seemed realistically priced unlike a lot of shops in this area. read more

It was a Sunday & the shop was busy and he took the time & answered all my questions and made a recommendation within my price range that I am super excited about. I went in here a few weeks ago when I was in town for the Vineman 70.3 Ironman event. I thought I brought enough Cytomax with me but turns out, I was a scoop full away from completing my race day nutrition. I found Windsor Bicycle Center on yelp and was happy to find they were less than 2 miles away from the expo. I was promptly greeted by staff members but was able to find the Cytomax without issue. I have a bad habit about looking at prices but was shocked when my 82 serving container cost $59.99! YES! Bought a bike online for my daughter for Christmas for her Santa gift. I wanted to go pick it up, so I called the store to let them know I would be coming up to get the bike. The guy I spoke with said he didn't see my order in the system & he would call me back. He finally called me back they next day & said that the bike was sold in the store "at the same time" I bought it online. He said they were getting a shipment in of the same bikes just different color that weekend & wanted to know if I wanted one of those instead. I was annoyed, but I said as long as it's here by Christmas Eve that was fine. He said it would be and that he would even deliver it to my house for me to make up for it not being the original bike. I said fine. The weekend came & went. December 23rd, I email asking if I can just pick up the bike since I would be in the area. No response. I call...no bike. They haven't gotten the shipment & there is no bike. I'm like what? The guy said they would be here. So they tell me they would talk to the guy that handles the ordering & get back to me. Finally I get a call back later & there will be no bike. The shipment wasn't picked up & no one called me to inform me & now I'm without a Santa gift for my 6 year old. I have to then on Christmas Eve go get my money back. They ask if I want them to call when the bike arrives! No, I want the bike now, I need it Christmas morning. I have a child waiting for Santa. He hands me a $50 gift card to "make up" for inconveniencing me. Now I'm trying to find a bike at the last minute and thx god I do, it ends up costing me $100 more. But this is what happens when I shop local instead of Amazon. read more

Wow. Completely impressed with this shop. I've been in the market recently to buy a beach cruiser to ride with my young son into town (we live in a Healdsburg, maybe a 5 min ride to the plaza) and have had bad luck with other shops. I walked in this past Thursday and asked to see if they had the Matte Black Electra Cruiser 7D that was parked out front the other day, I was informed that it had sold but told it could be ordered and arrive quickly. The gentleman at the front register said he wanted to double check in the back to make sure they didn't have one already to replace the previously sold one. They did have it in stock and they told me they would bump it up on the build list, I told them I'd pay because I was interested but they said not to worry and that they wanted to make sure that it was truly what I wanted first. Most places would've sold the bike first just to make a buck. The customer service here is top notch, a couple of other local shops had the bike for a little bit less, but definitely worth paying a little more here to be treated well. I took two bikes in for servicing, deciding to stay local (blocks from our house), rather than transport them to two different locations in the county for free servicing where they were each purchased. One bike has only been in use for just six weeks and was supposed to have a tune-up after "breaking it in". At Windsor Bicycle Center they looked at it, adjusting a couple minor things, and said it was good to go--no charge. The other bike needed a few more adjustments after frequent riding for six or so months, and was ready to go in about fifteen minutes and for only twenty bucks! We would have loved to purchase our bikes right here in Windsor, especially with such amazing and friendly service, but we went with Yuba brand cargo bikes to accommodate our growing family. Now all I hope is that WBC starts carrying these great bikes so we can get our accessories here, and refer others in this family-friendly community to a great bike shop! read more

Me: I think the tube popped and getting the tire off the bike is the extent of my ability. Service: Ok, hmmm, new tube and service, just under twenty...is that ok? Me: Sure! Seems simple, but go elsewhere and you get eye rolls because you own a bike and can't change a tube. And less the five minutes later, I was on my way home to a happy kid with a fixed bike tire! Every other bike shop seems to have employees who talk down to me because I'm not a Lance wanna be. Not these guys, ever. You're treated like a friend who just showed up for a beer in the garage. I cannot recommend these guys. I'm on my second bike from wbc. I've dropped over 4k here and I've come to realize I have had better results from the school of youtube. After being misinformed about "tubeless" set up, they did it for me, charged me for it without my consent (which was refunded to me after I complained) and it failed to seal my tires. I have since set up 4 tl tires 100% successful. (2 on my 650b and 2 on my specialized 29er)(yup, another 2k of business wbc could have had.) Here's why: They donated 6 commuter style bicycles to Windsor High School AVID program for high school students to ride bikes across town to a K-8 school to do tutoring and be mentors to students in younger grades. I give myself one star for being a foolish shopper. I needed a light for night riding and a couple of new tires so I stopped by. I would typically take my time and shop around for a good deal but I always like to shop local and will overlook a slight increase in price for the convenience and to support our local economy. I purchased a Niterider Lumina OLED 600 and a couple of Connie Gatorskins. My bad! I was in a rush so I didn't think about the price but started to get an uneasy feeling as I drove home. I paid $159.00 for the light. I am an idiot. I looked online (Amazon) and found the identical light set for $95.00. I paid $65 more for the same exact product. I paid $20 more for the tires as well. My total bill for a light and a couple of tires was over $320z. So much for buying local. The folks at Windsor Bicycle seem very nice and friendly. I am sure they are good people and I don't blame them. They saw this sucker coming. read more

So where to start, the staff at WBC are top notch, after only a couple of visits they knew who I was and what I ride and what bikes I had been asking about. It was a pleasant change of pace from the disappointment I had with the other shops in Sonoma county. its started with getting my mountain bike serviced, they do an outstanding job, it was a simple tune up but my bike look brand new, they definitely went the extra mile. next was my new road bike, I spent months looking around and doing research on the internet so I would have some idea of what I was looking for,(I was only more confused im a mountain biker) I still had TONS of question and the staff happily answered, and led me to my new Favorite ride. I recently had them ordered new bars for my mtb, there was a little snag, the wrong bars showed up but on the spot mike the owner got to work on getting the right bars ordered. this summer i will be building up another bike and I have the utmost confidence in having these guys order all the components I will need. All in all I will never go any where else for service, parts, advise, or my next bike. read more

As good as it gets in SoCo. Joe and Mike really went above and beyond to get me the bike I truly wanted. I purchased a bike for my wife, myself, and a trailer for our daughter (including all our gear) and couldn't happier with everything. Pricing was extremely fair as well. I see some people comparing prices to Amazon or other places online which is unfair. While I'm sure the prices are marked up, I'm sure the margins are much smaller than you think. If you expect to pay less at a local bike shop than on Amazon then maybe you shouldn't be shopping at a LBC. It's about supporting the community and the people working at the shop. Bottom line is that the staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and truly care about you having a fun cycling experience. read more
