I'm not one to come on yelp to give bad reviews, but this was just a terrible experience. Sorry about it. Bike factory has the worst customer service and on top of that Stacyc is rip offs! Long story short, but we bought 4 brand new Stacyc bikes for my children for Christmas, go to plug in the batteries to charge my son's 18 inch bike which cost me mind you $1800. The battery was not working. So I couldn't even give my son his Christmas gift on Christmas because the battery was not charging. I had to wait for after Christmas until they opened the following day to go and replace the battery and they still wanted me to place it under warranty, which that would've taken weeks to get replaced and if I hadn't give. my opinion on it that I just bought the bike. This is not my fault that the battery does not work and I want a battery today. They are responsible for checking to make sure the battery and bike is working when we leave out the door cause they do have a policy once you buy the bike and leave the store. It is nonrefundable. So I said I will not leave without a brand new battery for my son's brand new bike that was supposed to be a Christmas gift so that was already terrible news to my son! Then my daughter's smaller 12 inch bike. They ride it through the dirt got some mud on it and it started to smoke and then they wanna claim that the mud had ruined the motor which I highly doubt it because the mud was just on the frame and the tires, but because of the mud on the bike, they wanna claim the mud has ruined the motor and want me to pay out-of-pocket which I had just purchased the bike for Christmas and it was still technically under the 90 day warranty! But they called and said it's not covered, right on Stacyc! Will never be buying that brand of bike probably any brand of Bike from Bike factory again! ! ! read more

Guess who still hasn't gotten a phone call to update me on the status of the part they're supposed to be ordering for me? Thank goodness I took it upon myself to contact Trek and speak with them directly. They told me the part I needed wouldn't be available until September. This bike shop told me the part would take 2-3 weeks to come in. That was almost 2 months ago. The kicker is I told them I was moving in about 2.5 months and I needed to get the bike fixed before I shipped it. Well that day has come and gone and still no call to update me. Complete waste of time going there unless you want to spend a couple grand on an illegal e-bike. read more

I was really nervous about going into the Bike Factory today because of reading all the reviews. I know nothing about bikes but I was hoping to get some knowledge before jumping in and buying bicycles for my kids. Walked in the door, and surprised when I wasn't ignored. Even if the greeting was behind the desk, that was still nice that someone acknowledged my existence. Then, out comes someone different. His name was Alex and he was so nice and friendly. He told me all about the differences between bikes and what I should look for when choosing the right bike for my kids. Told me the interesting fact about why girl bike frames used to be different and now it doesn't really matter. Just incredibly patient and he never made me feel like I was an inconvenience or a waste of time because I wasn't looking to buy... right now. Alex was extremely knowledgeable and his ability to make me feel comfortable in a setting that I wasn't, was a pleasant surprise. He told me all the things that the bike factory could assist with if we did purchase a bike such as changing the tires, brake pads, etc. which even if we are not avid bikers, was still great information. I would hope that if and when I go back again, I get Alex to help out. He was awesome. read more

One of the few options on island with a solid inventory. Brought in my E Bike wheels for new tires and tubes. Was a little concerned that they wanted to put a 3.5" wide tubes on a bike that requires 4.0" wide. They assured me they would work despite the manufacturer recommendation. Was told the job would be finished and ready for pickup the following day. I called them back 5 days later to see if i could come in and pick up the wheels and was told they were not done yet and they were having trouble getting them seated, but they would have them finished that day and would call me to come get them when they were ready. After not getting a call I reached out again the day after to see if I could get my wheels back ready or not and they were good to go. For peace of mind I will be replacing the tubes with the recommended size. ($25 per tube and $100 for instal) Overall they did what I paid for so I have no complaints there, just be aware that "tomorrow" can mean 6 days. Price is fair for in stock on island, but if you have a few days to wait for shipping from mainland it's much greater value. read more

I stopped by on a Saturday around 1pm with a simple request: a new inner tube installed. Something that usually takes 10-15 minutes. Instead of offering to help or even give me a rough wait time, I was told I could only drop the bike off on Monday. That's it. I get that weekends can be busy, but turning away a loyal customer for such a quick job--without even trying to accommodate--is a letdown. This was a great opportunity to reinforce why I chose to support a local shop in the first place, but it just felt like they didn't value my business anymore. I had two tubes and tires I needed mounted on some new rims. Young boy that worked on the rims says he can not get a a proper bead on the tire. I ask why and he says it's the rim or the tire. Still charged me $95. Took the same rims to bike shop by cutter ford and they were able to properly mount both tires with a bead for $29. I've had better experiences at Bikefactory waipio before they do have guys that know their stuff,but not that young kid if he couldn't do it he should have asked for help. read more

Idiots work here!! This location sucks!!! Avoid this place at all costs! Ordered a part for my cruiser in Nov 2023. I received no call no text no email. -Dec 2023 I called - they had no update. -Jan 2024 I called - they had no update. -Feb 2024 I called - part is in.Told me they tried calling me for almost a month. Fwams had the wrong # so had them update it. But so what? I've been calling!!! Whatever already irritated. The guy told me to bring my bike & would only take 15-20m to install. Loaded my bike drove from Kapolei to Waipio, hung around 1-2 hrs to give them time. After almost 3 hrs of waiting I went in and they told me "sorry sir we never got to it, because there's people ahead of you, not sure why you waited didn't we tell you that?" UH NOBODY TOLD ME THAT. I was told 15-20m. Clearly frustrated they apologized and said "leave it we'll get it done as early as Friday before closing or late as Saturday." I left it. You'd think they'd learn their lesson and call when it's done...NEGATIVE!! - Friday - I called, not ready - Sat - no update - Sun - called at 11:15 am. 15m after they opened. They said its ready. I picked it up at 11:45ish. The worker tells me "oh it's been sitting and ready for a couple of days!" WTF!!!! Oh It gets worse...I loaded my bike literally leaving the parking lot. I get a call from these idiots saying.. "your bike just finished and is ready for pick up!" HOLY SHIT! Told him "interesting cuz I just picked it up and I'm staring at it right now" He responded "that's funny cuz I only started working on it couple days ago and finished it last night, I don't know how you wouldve known it was ready." IM DEAD!! All this for a dumb crank shaft!!! Even my dead aunty's uncle braddahz can communicate better than these idiots! On Aug 08, 2023, my parents went to Waipio Hawaii Bike Factory to purchase an ebike Super 73 Z priced at $2600 plus taxes. The Manager, Tarrin, helped my parents and he told them that they could pay it within 12 months with no interest. My parents agreed to this, trusted the manager, and gave their bank information to schedule an autopay for their monthly deductions. Two days later, on August 10, 2023, ACIMA CREDIT, sent a string of emails including their first monthly deduction and another one stating that my parents verbally consented to changing the frequency of payments which became semi-monthly. THIS IS A LIE because they never had any conversation, nor did they go back to the store after they bought the ebike. Starting August 15, 2023, ACIMA CREDIT deducted twice a month and some months even 3 times for the entire year. They paid a total of more than $7000. The payment receipts and amount deducted did not even match. My parents are older and are not very tech-savvy. They are the perfect victims of this fraudulent activity because they do not know how to check their email and monitor their online banking. It was only a few days ago when we started digging and found out what they did. We went to Waipio Hawaii Bike Factory to give them a chance to make things right or offer some help so we could at least clear their involvement. We told the manager, Tarrin, about the issue but he did not help us, became very defensive and he even continued lying. He said that my parents should have paid for the ebike within 3 months because the payments would have gone higher due to accrued interest. He clearly knew this from the beginning but failed to mention that and he even lied to my parents that they could pay within 12 months with no interest. These are all facts, and we have emails and bank statements to prove. The fraudulent activity has been reported through our bank. You can read between the lines and make your assumptions, but I suggest bringing your business somewhere else. Beware of deceiving marketing tactics, especially any store that finances with ACIMA CREDIT because CFBP is even suing them for misconduct and illegally obtained profits. What ever happened to this place. Back when bmx bikes were getting popular and was an influence for the youth to get into bmx before and after pandemic. I walk in the shop and only e bikes??? The staff here is excellent and meeting Mitch, the owner I think, is super jolly and helpful. Bear, one of the techs at Bike Factory is super friendly, even gave my kids free shirts. Came to this location for the first time since it was on the way to do errands as I typically go to the town location. Three employees were there at the time as one of them helping another customer. There was one behind the counter, another in the back and one finishing up with a transaction. When all of these guys were done the three that were in the showroom didn't even bother to ask me if I needed any help or have any questions on any of the products. I've waited wastefully for 20min. The town location every time no matter how busy they were at least one or two would greet me "welcome" and always says " someone will be with you" which at least they acknowledged my existence in the store. There were none at this store and mind you they were not busy. The good thing is that there's ample parking here and place is pretty big. read more

Went there to check out the ebikes selection... Y friend jus bought a Super 73 from them... I went in and asked what they had in stock. Younger haole guy pointed and said this is what we got... Cruisers here and they go up to mountain bikes there. And he walked away... I had to go find him again to ask him if we could possibly test ride a cruiser. Flat out said no... Slowly getting back into the bike fam jam of things and needed a few repair parts for my other half's mountain bike. We called first to see if they had the parts and how much to fix it. I don't recall exactly what piece we needed but it was $7-9. Not bad, not bad. Guy on the phone was very helpful and friendly. But then we asked if he charged, how much would it cost. Oddly it cost more for labor than the piece itself. No thank you. We'll just YouTube it... Aside from that ridiculous hustle, the guys inside the shop were nice. They are located in Waipio, down the road from Costco and right next to Maui Off Road. It wasn't busy at all so there was enough stalls to choose from. Came to get my rear tire fixed. Being a novice about bikes i always feel vulnerable when I go to places to find some help. It's like buying a car - need to do your homework and understand all terminologies before you shop. Well I dodnt have time and really wanted my bike fixed. First stop was Waipahu Bike shop. The local guy was great - he didn't have my tire size and recommended The Bike Factoey. Now I bought my bike in Cali at a bike shop whose inventory was going out the door quick - so to walk in the Bike Facotry and see a solid good inventory was a relief. I had called earlier and spoke with "Chris" - I explained what I had and he broke down the costs ( I really appreciated this!) and said to bring the bike in. Walked in with my bike and a young guy helped me. Sorry I didnt get his name but he checked the tire said it wasn't the inner tube. He asked when was the last time i put air in and told him Sunday and this morning it was flat. He pointed out in the inner rim cloth. Says the cloth is supposed to cover the holes I side. Lots of times the factory uses cheap stuff so I asked to change it ($5.00). Bike is back in business! Thank you Bike Factory for helping me out and not charging me a ton. Need your bike fixed??? Came in here to help my friend buy a bike computer (for her trainer). Guy said there was a one for $300 something (a garmin). Asked if he had a cheaper one and he scoffed at us and said some about only having the best. LOL. She doesn't need GPS if it's not moving. I got my computer at Mccully for around $100 and it's not a shit brand because it's cheaper. Snobs much? Fine whatever. I understand, that's why it's the only place that still has bikes in stock. But what I didn't like was the toxic environment. One of the repairs guys was yelling at this younger employee over a misunderstanding with charging a customer or something. Guys if you don't like working or smiling maybe retail isn't for you? Only came here because it's literally a couple minute walk. But I'd rather drive 1hr round trip into town to spend my money at mccully bike shop than come here again. But yesterday when I visited he wasn't there (which was nice) and the customer service was excellent. In and out with what I needed. Very helpful and friendly personnel. I don't even know where to start. I honestly don't know if the owner of BikeFactory will even see this. But his employees are shitty assholes! They need to be retrained on how to act when customers are around! The reason why I gave it a 1 Star was because of the young guy named Nate that helped us. He was very helpful and nice, Seemed shy but friendly. If it wasn't for him, this place would get nothing from me. We spent way over $1500 in the store, but I will never go again. The other guys were arguing in front of the customers. There was several people with kids and these guys were arguing, yelling, & cussing. Some dude with dreads was rude and kept giving shit to Nate (might be wrong name). Grabbing stuff in front of Nate with out the courtesy of saying excuse me. It was weird to watch because I got the impression that Nate got picked on a lot by these guys he works with. It was a very hostile environment. I wouldn't be surprised if one of the men that worked there lost his shit and goes postal. That's the kind of vibe we got being there for 30 minutes. You can tell by customers reactions that it was uncomfortable for them too. Everyone was staring and watching these guys argue. The place was full (I counted 25 ppl) and every customer coming in Had masks except for maybe 2 ppl. None of the employees had masks on except for Nate!!! They should regulate how many customers can come in at a time. It was hard to walk around with that many people and with Covid-19 going on it's just too close to each other. Treat people (customers and your co workers) with respect, learn customer service skills!! How would it make you feel if someone you loved dearly was treated in this manner. You would not like it!!! I have bought all my bikes at The Bike Shop. I took the chance with The Bike Factory and I regret it. Lesson learned read more

Went in to get a few things done on two bikes: Bike 1: convert to tubeless, determine why "skipping was occuring when locking up brakes. Wanted brakes to throw me over handlebars. This is a carbon fiber bike with 220mm rotors and SRAM RSC brakes. Dont think i can upgrade further without changing the entire setup. They told me the brakes were more touchy than expected. Hmmm. Ok, I was expecting that they would provide a professional touch. Was unable to reproduce issue, so lets move on. Bike 2: Replace seat post clamp, true front rim (would pull towards disc brake when hard braking, and remove weird pully system from derailer. When I showed up, the weird pully system was not removed, and front wheel was not centered on fork. The seat post clamp was not replaced as well. They were ready to collect payment and send me out the door. I called them on what they missed, and initially they said this was normal. Then the guy i originally spoke to realized that all this was missed and removed the pully, and adjusted gears. I have yet to test if gears shift properly. This is the second time I have taken a bike to a bike shop in Hawaii. First one was "The Bike Shop" in Kailua where they said my brake pads had oil, and since i took to them, they just dont lock up the same. Freakin replace the pads then, ill pay for it. I just want my bike to perform at its best! I expect the mechanics to dial in my bike, as that is their specialty. I guess i need to just invest more $$ in tools and do the work myself. read more

This place has great customer service. At first I thought one of them were really rude, but after all the chaos going on, he settled down and became nicer. I'm guessing since this pandemic, this place is getting a lot of business and which looked like it really excited them. Lol! All in all we got a very nice cruiser. So excited to ride it. Everyone there is friendly and I think the owner or manager was there and he was really helpful and so laid back. We also got some cool free shirts.
