YES! YES! YES!! This place!! Let's just say I've had terrible customer service from another very popular bike shop in Waipio. Zero callbacks or updates on my repairs and parts that I'm waiting on. Not these guys! OMG! I brought my bike in with a part to install. I had to order the part myself because the other shop never called me to let me know that it was back ordered until September and I had a look somewhere else. I found that out by calling the manufacturer myself. I dropped this off and they told me it would take 72 hours to repair and they called me back in 24 hours and said it was done! Excellent service and excellent customer service. Skip the other bike shop that may have a big name and multiple locations. This is where customer service lives! read more

CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! I popped into the store looking for a specialized rockhopper. I met with the friendliest sales person I have ever met. COLE! His youthful appearance & his willingness to help answer my long list of questions was so delightful!l I would have bought a bike right on the spot but unfortunately they don't sell that brand. He showed me some other options encouraging me to try but I am loyal to the brand I've loved for so many years. Five stars. Highly recommended. Got my bike serviced over a month ago and they did a great job. Bought the bike off of Craigslist and it needed a good tune-up and overhaul after doing a race with a flat. The bike actually rode at one mph average speed faster. Great stuff! Today, went in for the bike tire change class. Jeri was the instructor and she was the best! Taught us really well, step-by-step of removing the tire from the rim, to removing the tire tube and reinstalling the tube. After learning how to change the first tire, the second one was a breeze! She's a fantastic and fabulous instructor! Highly recommend her as a instructor. I am very pleased with my new tire tubes installed for my next upcoming race. Called this bike shop and asked if they had a certain bike i wanted at this location. (I did see it on their website) he said yes! I told him i was driving to that location. He said ok. Long story short. It wasn't at this location. It was at the Honolulu store. Ugh! Another bad experience with a bike shop. What happened? I remember when this shop was a couple doors down and was called The Great Outdoors!! Back in the 80s and 90s. They had the best customer service and they were friendly aswell. Nowadays, not so much. This place was awesome and super helpful. I had to wheel my bike in due to a rear derailleur failure while riding. Even though it was an el-cheapo mountain bike the dude behind the counter stopped what he was doing to immediately help me. Just purchased my #2 Electra Townie , the first Townie was a 7 speed bike , was a good bike but traded it in for a Electra Townie 7speed E bike . They both great bikes but due to my ailment , I needed the e-bike to help me continue bicycling. I bought the e-bike from Bike Shop in Aiea . I was serviced by two great employees Randal and Randy ( store mgr). They had a no pressure sale on my new bike and they took in my old Electra as a trade . Randy did all the paper work for my new bike and explained on how to charge the battery . Randal answered all my questions I had on the Electra E-bike . His answers and my trade in of my old bike made me want the new Electra Townie E bike . Customer service is a plus here and I recommend Bike Shop Aiea for all your bike needs. Staff at the Aiea location need to take customer service training. Staff need to understand that some customers are beginners and do not know anything about bikes. I've been in this store numerous times and staff make me feel like I'm wasting their time or that I am asking them stupid questions. I was riding my fat tire e-bike that I built myself, on the pearl harbor path. My chain broke real close to The Bike Shop. The employee figured out what chain I needed and sold me one. I took the chain to my bike but not knowing how it was routed I installed it wrong. The Mechanic told me they charge $35.00 to install, I thought that was more than fair. I brought my bike in and in less than a minute, he routed the chain right. When I tried to pay him he refused, I know the magic he did wasn't time-consuming, but did the trick. I owe the bike shop big time. I was on my way to finish my ride. I will only use this shop and recommend them to everyone. read more

My bicycle flat tire on my way to work and had to walk into this shop for the first time. I got there before the shop hour and staffs opened the door for me took my bicycle in to fix. I paid $75 for the brakes to be bled. They called me that it was ready. I asked if they flushed the brakes, and they replied, "no." They said that they did not know they were supposed to work on the brakes, so I decided to leave the bike for another week and paid another $75 for the brakes. I got the bike back and rode it on Pupukea and found out that they didn't flush the brake when I was rolling down a steep hill, and the brakes couldn't slow down the bike! The brakes had more bubbles that affected its effectiveness. You don't want to know what happened after that, but here's a warning for the next person who needs help from them. Randal and his team can't be trusted on my list from that day on. I guess, test ride your bike before leaving the store. Don't get me wrong, they pumped the tires, they fixed the lock out for the shocks, but they didn't flush the brake fluid. Like I ordered it twice but still didn't get it right. So unfair. I wish they told me they didn't want to work on my bike instead! read more

I ended up in Hawaii for a work trip right in the middle of cycling season and I was going to miss out on over a week of rides. I rented a road cycle from them for a week and brought my own pedals. They installed the pedals at no extra charge. As part of the rental you can request a helmet, bike lock, and the bike comes with a hand pump, spare tube, tire levers, and allen wrench set. I asked if I could get a floor pump, and the team grabbed one from the back and let me borrow it for the whole week no charge. Renting a bike from these folks was one of the best decisions I made for this trip and I definitely will be doing it again next time I visit Hawaii. read more

I was looking for a basic bicycle to ride around the neighborhood with the kid and potentially commute to work in the future. This shop has a wide variety of bikes from 2k+ pro style, mountain bikes, cruisers, commuters, and kid bikes. I wasn't looking to spend much and found a nice commuter bike for around $450, I think that was one of the cheapest bikes they had. I could not be more impressed with the quality of the bike. It is extremely well built and very light. Easily lift with one hand. The staff was very friendly, offered a test ride, and does a full check up on the bike once you pick it out. I'm talking wipe down, adjustments of the brakes, tire inflation, and the works. A great experience and we'll be back to get some more bikes for the rest of the family. read more

This shop can't repair bikes properly and does not have good customer service. I took my bike in the other day to repair a shifting problem with my gears. They called me two days later and so I went down, paid $50 and took the bike home. The next day, I still had a shifting problem, so I returned to the store and the repair guy told me he couldn't fix it and said to see his manager the next day. I returned the next day and spoke with the manager who told me bluntly that it can't be fixed, that is the way it works and don't use those combination of gears. I told him the gears do not shift at all between each other and still he insisted that is the way it is. He basically was telling me he could not and was not going to fix it anymore. I felt that we were at a standoff and so I left the store unsatisfied with his response. I respected this store and had been loyal customer for many years. I left very disappointed after this incident. read more

Brought my zipp wheel to get true, it has a little up and down play or whatever you call it. Waited for a week due to one of the nipple broke, need to be replace. Got a call and picked it up, got more worst than before , have wobble left and right and play up and down. I went to The Bike Shop in Aiea to pick up and exchange bike accessories for my triathlon race. The store is large, organized, and has everything you need for biking races, road biking, triathlons, or beach cruising: -New bikes -On occasion, some used bikes -Bike service shop -Bike maintenance classes -Bike accessories The service I found was inconsistent. The first time I went there were about 5 reps working and the store was busy with several of other customers. It took 5 minutes for someone to help me and I waited in a long line to purchase bike accessories. The second time I went there was hardly anybody in the store and about 3 reps working, and I got very good customer service and care from the reps. I am considering making additional purchases at The Bike Shop in the future including a new Triathlon bike. Overall I recommend The Bike Shop if you have to pick up anything biking related for your triathlon races or road biking. The Bike Shop also hosts biking workshops and fosters a good support community for biking enthusiasts. read more

Stopped in with a plethora of questions and let me tell you, phenomenal customer service. Phenomenal. What they did: Had my rental bike and equipment ready. Sized my shoes (that I purchased), after assisting me with options/pros and cons. Questions as simple as, "Can I walk around with my shoes, after attaching my clips", because I had no idea. No questions at any time were met with any heirs of, "that's a dumb question". These guys will set you straight. They have a genuine pride in assuring all of your concerns are addressed. I had never rode clipless, so Ken took my bike, hooked it up to a trainer so I could clip in and out, and let me practice. All the while giving me some of the finer points so I could be safe while riding. Time was never an issue. They had a revolving staff working with me throughout. Their team communicates well and always had someone ready to break off and assist. If you are a beginner, these guys will give you piece of mind and do so with a smile. Bike ride hosted today was so much fun! Jeri lead the ride and provided so much information from the basic bike maintenance to safely rising your bike. We road on the Pearl Harbor Bike Path, Jeri stopped to share interesting facts such as the watercress and taro patches along the route. After the ride we had refreshments and enjoyed sharing with everyone... icing on the 'cake' was getting to know more cyclists and share the joy of cycling. They did a great job in giving my wife's e-bike a tune up, and kindly helped me to get the monster in and out of my car.

Used to be good shop, now their mechanics do shoddy work and always try to upsell you on fixing stuff that is unnecessary. I paid $85 for tune up and fix broken spoke. Tried to make me rebuild headset which is perfectly fine still. Bike has less than 5,000 miles. But the day after I get my bike back another spoke broke while I'm training way up a valley. I had to uber back. They should have recommended respoking whole wheel or buy new rims. So lame. The manager called me back and said they'll credit me $10 to respoke one rim which is $70 for labor + $32 in materials. I thought that is high. So I called Boca Bike Shop who quoted me $50 for labor. They also gave me quotes to buy new Shimano rims for $75 to $129. Which I'm gonna do at Boca. It's really not about the money. It's the hassle and bs and being safe! If The Bike Shop was smart, they woulda recommended I respoke or buy new rims instead of a half ass fix. Instead I wasted my time and then get stranded. I can only imagine what if spokes broke on a fast downhill. Not cool!!! The manager didn't have any comment on why the mechanic wanted me to overhaul a perfectly working headset when clearly there were more pressing issues. This isn't the 1st incident of mistakes by their mechanics. Another time the mechanic didn't attach the rear detailer back on all the way and it fell off. During a race. And they also stripped lock bolts by using an allen wrench instead of using the special key I provided. Idk why I bothered coming back to this Mickey mouse operation. The mechanics have high turnover there and trained to $ell. They could give a crap about your bike or safety! I only gave them a chance because I have a Specialized. I'm saying goodbye to this authorized dealer. I'll be spending my $ elsewhere. read more

I wanted to have my bike repaired with newer items that somehow Rusted in our shed! Told me to bring it for an estimate, they'll call the next day. They called, told me that, it would basically cost $600.00 not including labor(another $200.00). Gave me a long list of things claimed that was needed for repairs/replacements parts. I feel as though, that price was a brand new bike! Took my bike to a local shop, from what the local shop told me.....there wasn't nearly half of what they said was need to repair my bike. Sometimes you go into a business and you encounter people who are true Masters of a craft or skill. That was the case with the young man in the Bike Shop. He diagnosed and repaired my sons bike in less than 2 minutes. I had previously made the same repair and it took me 20 minutes just to get up the courage to do it. Then after a test drive, it was broken again. He was in and out like a surgeon. No seriously, he was that skilled. Great job. Great service. Mahalo. read more

If I could give NO STARS I would. Very disappointed in the customer service. Went there to get a tire for a bike that really isn't in great shape but it has sentimental value to us and to purchase (2) bikes. Went in there looking for some advice on how to get another tire and we were just told we don't have that size right now. And that was it. No other information but he just left us standing at the courtesy counter. Then we asked if they would be ordering more and we got no response. Just we need to try another store. No recommendations as to where we could go, if we were interested in something else? Nothing. He did NOT want to help us at all. The other salesperson was helping another customer so we looked around and just told the salesperson thats it? Thats all your going to do? We turned around and just walked out. No thanks. We will try The Bike Factory and get someone to help us fix this bike and purchase new ones. read more
