We bought a used Kona EV here about two months ago. Our emergency charger cord which we had to use until we could get a permanent fast charger installed just stopped functioning. We wanted a replacement (under warranty), but they had to "check it" first. This would literally take a minute. We droppped off the faulty charger on this past Saturday and hoped we would get a replacement on the following Monday or Tuesday. As of Tuesday they hadn't had "a chance" to look at it. Yeah, right. If it's going to take you that long why don't they give us one to use in the meantime? So now we have to go to a public charger which costs $ every time (time that we don't have as we have to drive to the Portland area (from New Gloucester) and we are extremely busy and have to go out of our way to do so. Wanted a loaded 2020 Santa Fe for my husband. We have been a Toyota family for years. But friends have a Tucson and a Santa Fe and love them. He went in on Monday to look at them. He really liked the Santa Fe, so he left his 2010 Highlander there (to have it evaluated for trade-in.) and drove the Santa Fe home so I could see it and take a ride with him later in the day (I had just gotten off a 48 hour shift). We took a nice ride around for about a half hour and so we returned to the dealership to "drop it off." Hubby talked me into going in and look over the numbers. Now, mind you, sales guy was warned I was tired AND cranky. But I went in. SPOILER: I have never been treated so fairly and respectfully in a car dealership in my entire life! Fair price for new car, fair price for trade in. I already had been preapproved for the car loan through my bank, but asked for the 0% loan in lieu of the cash incentive (calculated better for me). Posted previously from 1 month ago I made an appointment a month out for some recalls. And at the time I had a few issues that I wanted fixed so perfect timing I thought. I told them EXACTLY what was wrong with the car and what I wanted fixed. They said they would have the parts for that appointment and I said perfect. I brought it in on a Thursday and they said it would take about a day. I said perfect as well. They said they would call me with any issues. I didn't receive a phone call so I called Friday. I spoke with someone and they said they would call me back. Didn't get a phone call. So I called Saturday and sure enough they were closed. I wait until Monday morning at 730 and called. I called about 6-7 times. No one answered and each time got redirected to the operator. I left voicemails. And it's was now 1230. Still nothing back. I the. Called the general manager and was told I would receive a phone call back within 20 min. I waited and hour and then left to just drive there. I didn't know whether or not my car was done or fixed. I live about an hour away. So I need to go and get my car. I've been without for now 5 days. I go and pick it up and they said it's done. I was charged a few hundred dollars to find out they didn't fix my issues I had with the vehicle. On top of that they charged me to diagnose the car. When I allready knew what was wrong with it. When I called and made my appointment I had called the Westbrook store as well. And they did not tell me my appointment was in Brunswick. So I was upset about that as well. I will not be recommending bill Dodge to my family or friends because of this horrible experience. To add onto this I made another appointment to get my steering wheel colum fixed and a tire sensor fixed. Since I gad already paid for the diagnostic. I brought my car in Monday morning at 830. On the phone i was told this repair would only take about 3 hours total. Which was perfect because I had to work that night at 4. So around 130 I called for an update. I didn't get a response. I waited and waited. so around 330 pm I started to drive there because I wanted to get my car before they closed. I was not about to go through not having my car yet again for days. When I get there they were still working on my vehicle. To find out that more than one sensor was broke! Well when I got the diagnosis on my car how did they not See it was more than one. later I was told that my hood latch was so broken. Well it wasn't broken when i brought it in. And they had to pop my hood to disconnect the battery to fix the car that day. I called the manager and spoke with him Friday the 6th! I was told I would revive a phone call on Monday. which was a holiday. I never received a phone call nor did I that whole week after. even after calling them again. I just received a phone call today and he said he would check on it. I waited 2 weeks for the same response I received last Friday. I decided to give them a second chance and that was a big mistake. I will definitely not be bringing my car back there ever again. It's been over 3 months and my car is still not fixed. And now has another issue and they won't take accountability for it. I will now be making an appointment somewhere else to fix their mistake. I'm so terribly disappointed. November 2022, I was required to put a $500 deposit (that's the minimum) for a new Venue- that was NOT yet on the lot. But, was told that I was 'at the top of the priority list' for obtaining the Venue Limited- as soon as it was on their allocation sheet. Was contacted several weeks later and told that an allocation sheet was NOT showing any Venue Limited in the style that I was hoping to purchase. So, I checked the availability of the vehicle at another dealership. They were expecting the vehicle that I was looking for with a definitive date of arrival! At that point, Bill Dodge - trying to keep my deposit and business- made fast promises that they could get the vehicle to me quickly. Not true! The vin# that I was given is on a vehicle still In Transit- and will first go to a dealership in N.H. before being processed to Maine! Well, I've had enough of the waiting without a date to rely on! Remember: deposit made in November 2022. Twice now I have requested to have my deposit refunded!! !They say: NO REFUND!!! Plus, they are showing their true colors with nastiness on the phone... By the way- I am getting the vehicle that I want next week at another dealership without them even asking me for a deposit!!! DO NOT put a deposit on a vehicle at Bill Dodge. After my first oil change on my new '22 Elantra at Bill Dodge Hyundai, they installed a faulty double gasketed oil filter that cracked and dumped the entire crankcase of oil. Had I not caught the oil warning light, the engine would have blown, costing this dealer north of $10,000 in repairs. GM Ryan James acted apologetic and said he would monitor my vehicle for any future damage caused by running dry on oil. After driving 138 miles one way for what I thought was a complimentary oil change, they used a mileage loophole to slime their way out of the covered service and charged me $94-- FOR AN OIL CHANGE! When I presented my out of pocket expenses (mileage on a loaner vehicle, 5 quarts of oil) that were not previously reimbursed from being stranded by the oil dump, Ryan James refused to reiumburse me for $186.31. James further refused to provide any future service or warranty support for the vehicle he sold me that almost blew up. On another occasion, while driving on a major highway, the front driver wheel locked up, nearly causing a crash. That left me without my car for 3 weeks (5 weeks total between the two incidents). Messages have been left with owner William Soule Dodge, President Win Dodge, and CEO John Mallia. This place is an absolute joke and I'm embarrassed I gave them my business. Where do I even start! This was my first car purchase and I obviously chose the wrong place to go. I drove 7 hour round trip to buy a car from them. When we first walked in, no one was there to greet us and just gave us a blank stare, until Brian came over and helped us. They said it needs some work for the dashboard, tires and brakes. Okay that's totally fine! Gave me a loaner and I appreciate that. Here is where things get sketchy.. we drive back ANOTHER 7 hours to pick up the car. As we are inspecting it we noticed there are damaged parts that obviously were completely looked over and our floor mats and cup holder mats around the car are missing.. they were there when we bought it! So the guy who details the car comes out and didn't speak any English and had no idea what we were talking about when asked where the missing items are. I was assured to get everything I was concerned with fixed (about 5 things I noticed within the first day)and was sent home in a loaner car. So over a month and a half later I get told my car is ready and they will meet me half way! Great! However, they threw away our floor mats and cup holder mats cause they were "damaged" and REFUSED to replace them! Why would you not replace something you threw away?! and guilt tripped me about putting $5k into work into my car already so they won't spend another $100 to give me the things they disposed of. Okay, that was your problem when you bought the car from auction? I didn't buy the car "as is" I bought it how I was told it was going to be fixed with all my concerns. Not my problem. So they had their driver meet me half way and returned my car EXTREMELY dirty, food pieces everywhere, floor covered in dirt, even in the back seat where NONE of us have even sat. It was perfectly clean we I had to return it to them to fix it. They left me a nice 2 inch gouged out scratch in the front of my car and returned it to me with my temp plates expired because they had my car for over a month. They made my first car buying experience absolute hell and I will NEVER give them my business again and I hope you don't either. I made a BIG mistake. Saturday, June 15, 2019 I drove into the lot of Bill Dodge Hyundai during a special sale event to look at used Sonatas. I didn't see any prices on windshields so I doubled parked my c and got out to take a peek. Within :30 seconds, I was approached by a friendly salesman named Richard. When he asked if he could help me I responded I'm not sure. "I need a safe, reliable used Sonata with automatic transmission, less than 100,000K miles for a $6000K cash deal." He didn't respond...you're crazy, I have nothing for that price. Richard was respectful and caring and asked me to drive around front, park my car and he'd meet me there and tell me what he had. I had a choice of one. A pretty cranberry red 2011 Sonata that was just traded in a couple hours ago. I took it for a test ride and loved how it handled. IRichard asked if I was trading in my Honda and I responded, well, I need to get a new used car b/c my car didn't pass inspection and I'm not going to pay to get it fixed. He asked for the keys so someone could take a look. He came back with a big smile, "we'll give you $1000 trade-in." I know about three things about cars BUT I knew that was total BS....a '99 Honda Accord with 153000K miles that didn't pass inspection...but I didn't say anything. We went inside, everybody was sharply dressed, welcoming and seemed very hard-working. I was offered food, drink, hand shakes. I said to Richard, "So is this going to work for $6K cash with no financing?" He said that he'd be right back and would see what he could do. That's when I met Ryan, the sales manager who spent 15-minutes telling me how much he wanted to sell me the right car, for the best price he could that would be safe, reliable and give me years of good driving with just basic regular maintenance. I told him that would be great if we can put the deal together for 6K cash, no financing. He didn't say no, that's crazy-ridiculous you ignorant lady...he asked if I liked blueberry pie. "We have homemade blueberry pie in the back made by a grateful woman who just bought a car from us. Let's go get you a piece, and give me a few minutes to put something together for you that you'll love." At that moment, I WAS TAKEN FOR QUITE THE RIDE. I was taken advantage of to the tune of over $12K!! They stole my trust and they stole my money in a down and dirty deal that was deliberately deceitful, fraudulent and pre-meditated. Ryan came back to me and said, "I've been thinking about it and wouldn't it be much better for you if you didn't spend all the cash you had. You keep a little in case of an emergency like $1200. Let's get creative and see if it can work". After 15 minutes, I asked Richard to see what was going on. He offered me another piece of pie, which I resisted and declined. 25 minutes later. Richard showed me a scratch sheet of figures highlighting $4800 cash down, $1000 trade in on the Honda, and financing $1200 for just $90/month. I told him no way. I'm on a fixed income . Then Ryan came out and shook my hand for about the 6th time and said I can make this work for $50 a month, can you handle that ? I know you love this car and it would be perfect for you. I really want you to have it." I knew that I'd be going over $6K b/c of the interest on the loan, but it was for a small amount for a set time, so I said yes. I wrote out a check for $3000 and put $1800 on a debit card. That's what Richard asked me to do and I questioned it but he replied that's how they like us to do it. I was then whisked over to the TV and told the Business Manager would be with me shortly. Another 30 minutes went by and it was now 6 pm. I had been in the dealership 3 hours and had forfeited a lovely 75 degree sunny afternoon and a trip to the dog park with my dog, so I was getting antsy. Technically they close at 5 pm or 'once the last customer is finished'. They FINISHED ME OFF ALL RIGHT! Dylan, the business manager, had me sign about 8 pages of stuff. I was tired, hungry and eager to go home. It was now 6:15 pm and I'd been watching the salesmen knock down the tables, bundle up the trash, pop the balloons, and roll up the posters. They were impressively efficient, fast and worked seamlessly as a team of about 8 people. At 6:20 I told Ryan I had to wrap things up and go home to take care of my dog. Dylan came out and handled things in a very business like fashion and said he'd be quick. I skimmed about 1/3 of each page, didn't see anything that jumped out and signed and/or initialed where I was told. That was a gift and a curse. But I redeemed myself. When I got home, I thoroughly read and processed the details of the car deal OR MORE APPROPRIATELY SWINDLE at Bill Dodge Hyundai. I made a BIG mistake, I got caught up in the excitement of buying a car. But I caught myself, realized the damage and took action. I stopped payment on the $3000 check at 1 AM and canceled the deal . I bought a 2011 Hyundai Veracruz from Bill Dodge 2 years ago. I have had it in the shop now 9 times with an electrical problem that they can not fix! Ever time they say they fixed it by replacing something but the problem is still happening. This car is a lemon and Bill Dodge will not make it right. I have asked for a trade, and what they offered me was a car that doesn't have all the extras mine has, and they want me to pay more money on it then what I already have paid for my car. My car has a bumper to bumper warranty on it but that doesn't seem to matter. Yes they have put many new parts on my car but the problem is still happening. So it is not fixed. I have been stranded 2 time late at night with my children in the car. This is a very unsafe car. You never know when it will not start. You can drive from home to the store and it might not start. I don't even want to take this car out of town for fear I might not get home without a problem. Bill Dodge does not stand behind there products!!!!
